Welcome to our monthly “A Paper Pumpkin Thing” blog hop! See what I have to share. Then check out all the other blogs in the hop to see additional creative alternate paper crafting project ideas that we each came up with using the contents of the August 2020 World’s GreatestPaper Pumpkin kit. To follow the hop and see other creative project ideas, simply scroll down and click on the names of other hop participants. (If you are receiving this blog post by email, click HERE to see the hop.)
Here is a photo of the intended projects from this month’s kit: nine full-size cards (three of three kinds measuring 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″) and includes coordinating envelopes.
I’ve already shared a few other alternate projects using the contents of this kit on August 23rd.
Today I am sharing a 12″ x 9″ Accordion Display Gift Album.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements of extra product…
Pacific Point Cardstock
12″ x 9″
Two pieces that are 3″ x 9″
Basic Black Cardstock
Two pieces that are 2-3/4″ x 8-1/2″
Six pieces that are 2-5/8″ x 2-5/8″
Mint Macaron Cardstock
Six pieces that are 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″
Just Jade Ribbon
Two pieces that are 10″
Measurements of kit product…
Mint Macaron card base
Two pieces that are 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″
Pacific Point card base
Two pieces that are 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″
Two pieces that are 1-1/4″ x 2-3/4″
Just Jade envelope flap
Two pieces that are 1-1/4″ x 2-3/4″
Directions…
Score the 12″ x 9″ Pacific Point Cardstock parallel to the short end at 3″, 6″ and 9″. Then rotate and cut parallel to the long end at 3″ and 6″ but don’t cut all the way through…start 1-1/2″ in from one end and stop the cut 1-1/2″ in from the other. Lastly rotate once more and add two more scores to connect the ends of these cuts (1-1/2″ in from each end).
Cut all the other pieces to the sizes indicated in the measurements above.
These images show how you could cut from the kit cards and envelopes.
Snip two vellum branches and add them to the blue printed squares hiding any adhesives under the gold banner strips.
Trim 1/2″ off of two more gold banners and add them to the dark green printed rectangle pieces.
Start layering all the pieces on. (The blue printed rectangles will be added later.)
Fold as shown, then flatten shut.
Add the ends of the ribbon pieces. One will go against the out edge of the Pacific Point base (where the back 3″ x 9″ Pacific Point panel will connect). Be sure to slather on lots of Seal+ Adhesive. Keep the adhesive in the middle first. Then add the 3″ x 9″ Pacific Point piece on top. Once this is lined up and secure in the middle, lift the ends to add a bit more Seal+ to secure.
When you open the album back up, notice that there is an extra area of blue behind the right middle section. This is where you will add the other ribbon covered by a blue printed rectangle. At this point you could also add the other 3″ x 9″ Pacific Point to the front off the closed album and the front side along with the other blue printed rectangle. No ribbons are added here.
OH! in the above photo you can see I added the other vellum leaves and gold leaves on top. I sponged Multipurpose Liquid glue to the back sides of these leaves to adhere them.
Add the 2-3/4″ x 8-1/2″ Basic Black layers to the front and back of the closed album. And then decorate the front as shown.
Tip: Trim the corners from the Fovever Gold piece as shown. It will fit better under the largest white circle which is actually the large blue circle piece from the kit.
This is the album all the way open.
And this is the album closed and tied shut.
I hope I inspired your creativity with what I shared today!

MY ONLINE PAPER CRAFTERS CLUB IS LOOKING FOR NEW MEMBERS We are looking for more to join our online Paper Crafters club. I loved creating with the August 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit! And today I want to share with you two more projects… a mini album (which you MAY have seen when it was shared by Cole Lambourne at Stampin’ Up! during their Facebook Live broadcast on August 27th) and the pretty card that I sent to a few of my lucky subscribers.
I made the album with with envelopes from the coordinating Gift of Fall Add-On Kit and elements from the August Paper Pumpkin kit.
The next few photos show all the inside pages in order.
Here is how I assembled my six envelopes for the album.
I sandwiched them with adhesive on the two outer flaps and down the center within the 7-3/4″ x 5-3/8″ Merry Merlot Cardstock cover that I scored in the middle twice (3-3/4″ from each end).
And then I added Merry Merlot and Pretty Peacock Cardstock for photo mats.
I used one more envelope to decorate the front and…
…the back. Those layers help to hold the 30″ of ribbon in place.
Product List… things you might need/want in addition to the August 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit to make this album
Here is the card that I sent to a few of my lucky subscribers.
You’d of course want to write along the left side of the inside of the card so that when the card is closed, what you wrote wouldn’t show through the see-through areas of the designer acetate. Here are some details if you wish to make this card yourself.
Measurements…
Whisper White Thick Cardstock
4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″ and folded into a z-fold
Crumb Cake Cardstock
Scrap for punching sprig
Mercury Glass Designer Acetate
3-3/4″ x 5″
Directions…
Fold the Whisper White Cardstock into a z-fold. The crease should be in the middle. To the right of the crease is the inside area of the card.
Add 3-1/2″ of Tear & Tape Adhesive just to the left of the crease on the folded flat card base. Then add the acetate layer so it is centered. You should see 1/4″ white border on all four sides if you centered it well.
Wrap 48-50″ Linen Thread about four times around the top layer near the crease concealing the Tear & Tape adhesive underneath. Tie in a knot, then in a bow. Adjust if necessary to bring the bow to the center.
Add the colorful berries/leaves vellum piece with Glue Dots so it is tucked under the thread.
Add the Crumb Cake punched sprig with Glue Dots so it is tucked under the thread.
Add a leaf piece from the kit (flipped over to the white side) with Glue Dots so it is tucked under the thread.
Stamp the sentiment onto the label piece. And add to the acetate so it is overlapping the ends of the foliage pieces and the thread.
Add a Flower Faceted Gem.
Product List… things you might need/want in addition to the August 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit to make this card

Out blog hop has gone international today, because this special May kit was made available in the South Pacific and European markets as well! See what I have to share. Then check out all the other blogs in the hop to see additional creative alternate paper crafting project ideas that we each came up with using the contents of the May 2019 Hugs From Shelli Paper Pumpkin kit. To follow the hop and see other creative project ideas, simply scroll down and click on the names of other hop participants.
Here is a photo of the intended project from this month’s kit – 12 stunning note cards: 3 each of 4 designs inspired by Stampin’ Up!’s own cofounder, Shelli Gardner.
I shared a 12×12 scrapbook page layout and how to double the cards in your kit just by adding a pack of Very Vanilla Note Cards & Envelopes on May 21st. And my son, Nick and I shared a couple more cards with this kit yesterday.
Today I have a sweet gift box made from one of the note cards and a gratitude book made from eight pretty kit envelopes.
Both of these are super easy to make and only require a few extra tools and supplies.
GIFT BOX
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements for the box…
Blue note card from the kit
Pretty Peacock velvet ribbon from the kit
About 10″
Directions…
Position the open blue note card (print side up) horizontally with the solid blue to the right and the printed blue to the left. Then score vertically at 1/2″, 2″, 3-1/2″ (the score line already there), and 5″. Then trim off the last 1/2″ (at the 6-1/2″ mark). Now rotate a quarter turn to the note card is vertical and score 1-1/2″ in from each side. With the floral print up, cut along the bottom three horizonal score line on each side up to the vertical score lines. The cover of the box will be formed by the portion above the last cuts. So reduce the sides by one inch. Then trim from the top down the small vertical score lines just to the the horizonal score line. Angle cut the sides of the two outer tabs.
Bring the bottom sides of the box together and adhere. Then bring the top tabs in to connect to the front flap to create to cover/lid. Do the adhering of the cover/lid with Glue Dots with the box is in a closed position.
Fill with treats. And add a bow.
I made my bow by following the directions in this video and wrapping it around my two fingers. This way I was able to keep only the velvet side of he ribbon showing. ?
GRATITUDE BOOK
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements for the book…
8 envelopes from the kit (2 of each print)
Early Espresso Cardstock
7 pieces that are 4-1/4″ x 2-3/4″
Pretty Peacock velvet ribbon from the kit
About 16″
Directions…
Fold the envelope flaps the opposite way…backward. Connect the envelopes initially by sliding the flap of one into the inside of another and make sure they are all in the order you want them. Then secure all the envelopes in place by undoing one at a time, adding a strip of adhesive (or glue dots from the kit), and reconnecting.
For the last envelope (which will be coming from the envelope that forms the front cover, insert the velvet ribbon, and fold this flap back and adhere. Tie the ribbon in a knot to decorate the binding of the book.
Open up the pages of the book and attach the Early Espresso pieces.
Then decorate the front cover with a simple stamped label attached with Dimensionals.
The gratitude book can house photos or clipped images of people and things you are grateful for. The journaling can be added below the pictures. ??
I hope you enjoyed what I shared today!

It’s amazing that Paper Pumpkin has been around that many years now. Oh my, how the kits have improved with age. And so have my videos! LOL Here is the first set of alternates I made. And here is the first video. (Don’t laugh.) I’m still making alternates for each and every kit AND videos for pretty much all of them as well. Introducing this month’s March 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit: Poppin’ Birthday! It includes supplies to put together 8 festive pop-out birthday cards: 4 of 2 styles.
I like to think outside the box…see what else I can come up with, and create alternate cards and other project ideas to inspire others. I added the extra supplies in the product list below to the above kit supplies to create my alternate projects that I’m sharing with you today:
two fun cake/candle cards made from 1/2 of a kit card
two counting books (a fun gift idea)
two tulle shaker anniversary cards
and two yummy donut birthday cards
Watch my video first to get to get measurements, directions, and tips (you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog). Then scroll down to see close-up photos, access the links that I mentioned at the beginning of my video, and see a list of extra supplies (linked to my online store) that I used to make my creations.
Here are photos of the cards the kit instructs how to make.
Aren’t they fun!?
And here are close-up photos of the alternate projects I made and shared in my video. (Remember to watch the video first to get measurements, tips and directions.)
TWO FUN CAKE/CANDLE CARDS
I used just 1/2 of a kit card and some extra cardstock to make these two. And as you can see, you can add many or just a few candles to the cake to personalize it for the person you are giving it to.
COUNTING BOOKS
These make a great gift for a young kiddo. You can create yours with personalized photos of your own.
TULLE SHAKER CARDS
These would be great for birthday or anniversary cards. They are MUCH flatter than the typical shaker card. And there is no static when putting them together!
DONUT CARDS
Yep! The sprinkles looked like donut toppings to me. So I had to make donut cards. Hahaha!
I hope you enjoyed what I shared today!
