Another Pyramid Card & Bookmark Subscriber Gifts

Two more ideas for all of you who received the Something for Everything December 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit

I love the challenge each month of coming up with my final project design (a gift for 5 of my lucky subscribers) using my leftovers from what I’ve already created with my kit. And as you may guess from what I’ve made and shared already on December 21 and January 2, there weren’t that many supplies left over from my kit. But I did it!

I used the polka-dot pattern on the envelope flaps and the green circle stickers to punch out 5 pair of snowmen I needed 2 snowmen per project because they are back to back sandwiching the ribbon to make these bookworm bookmarks.

I created an adorable bookworm bookmark and holder with the December 2019 Something for Everything Paper Pumpkin kit. I designed it to send to a few of my Paper Pumpkin subscribers. I also created another pyramid card from this kit. Click here for more photos, directions, measurements and supplies. - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

Here is the bookworm being used in my Outlander book. Can you see the snowman shape upside down in the body of the bookworm? I made and shared a version of these in my last Facebook Live on December 22nd. Below are the measurements and directions for making these bookmarks and holders with the Something for Everything kit supplies.

Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Measurements…

  • Whisper White Thick Cardstock
    • 2-1/4” x 8-1/2″
    • Scrap for punching Starburst for sentiment piece
  • Basic Black Cardstock
    • Scrap for punching 2-1/4″ Circle for sentiment layer
  • Kit envelope flaps or circle stickers
    • Scraps for punching two snowman shapes
  • Kit gold sticker sheets
    • Scrap for punching heart from the Dog Builder Punch
    • 1/8″ x 2-1/4″ strip
  • Kit card base
    • 2-1/4″ x 2-1/4″
  • Gold Metallic-Edge Ribbon, Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon, or Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon
    • 12″

Directions…

  • Punch two snowmen. (To get two from one circle sticker, cut the sticker in half equally. Then use a sticky note to guide them into the punch. This will help you to fit them in that amount of space better.)

  • Connect them together back-to-back using Tear & Tape Adhesive while sandwiching one end of the ribbon between.
  • Color small black circles in the centers of two large pearls to create eyes. Draw on the mouth and stick on the eyes to make the face for your bookworm.
  • Position the bookworm towards the top of the 2-1/4″ x 8-1/2″ Whisper White base. Then attach (with two Glue Dots on the outer edges) the Basic Black 2-1/4″ Circle so it becomes a pocket for the worm’s body. Then fold up the ribbon and attach (with Tear & Tape Adhesive along the outer edges) the bottom 2-1/4″ x 2-1/4″ card base piece so it becomes a pocket for the trailing ribbon.
  • Add the stamped sentiment, the gold heart, and the gold strip.

Here is the original one I made (and sent to Stampin’ Up! for their December 2019 kit Facebook Live).

My second project is another pyramid card.

I shared the first one (on the right in the photo above) along with other alternate projects in a how-to video on December 21st. Click here to see that video and more photos of that card.

I didn’t list directions here for making this type of card since this card is better explained in a video. But because this green card is a little different, I’ve listed a couple tips to finish off this version of this card. You can also see this card shared in Stampin’ Up!’s December 2019 kit Facebook Live. Below are views of all the sides when the card is assembled.

Here are the details if you wish to recreate this.

Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Measurements…

  • Polka-dot yellow card base from the kit
    • 4″ x 4″ polka-dot yellow piece
  • Striped green card base from the kit
    • 4″ x 4″ solid green piece
    • 4″ x 4″ striped green piece

Extra Tips…

  • Watch the how-to video that I shared on December 21, 2019 for directions for assembling the base of this card.
  • Stamp off to get a lighter Terracotta Tile Orange ink for the trailing flowers.
  • Attach the sentiment piece with a Dimensional under the left edge and a Glue Dot under the right. Trim up the excess AFTER adding to the card.
  • Use an Embossing Buddy to get the “sticky” off the back of the flower and leaf stickers if you wish to raise them up onto Dimensionals. On my card my left flower and both leaves are up on Dimensionals.

Here is a photo of the intended projects from this month’s kit: 12 attractive all-occasion cards (4 of 3 designs).

The December 2019 Something for Everything Paper Pumpkin Kit. - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

I’ve already shared a few other alternate projects using the contents of this kit on December 21st.

  • Three K-Cup holders
  • A simple congratulations card
  • A flower pot card
  • A pyramid/teepee card
  • And a 12×12 scrapbook page

CLICK HERE to check them out for more ideas.

Today I have for you two more projects: a beautiful birthday sampler framed décor piece and a super simple thank you/thinking of you card. I’ll start by sharing my card.

Products I used for these projects… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Click here to see & get details for a beautiful birthday sampler framed décor piece and a super simple thinking of you card that I made with the December 2019 Something for Everything Paper Pumpkin Kit. Plus you can see several other alternate project ideas created with this kit in our blog hop: “A Paper Pumpkin Thing”! - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

Measurements to prepare…

  • Basic Black Cardstock
    • 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″

Directions…

  • Adhere the Basic Black Cardstock to the front of the Gold Foil-Edged Card with SNAIL.
  • Use 2″ Circle Punch and punch as much of this shape as you can from the corner of a used up sticker sheet from the kit so that the circle includes the “branch cut-out.”
  • Stamp sentiment with Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto the banner piece from the kit.
  • Add this to the front of the card with Dimensionals from the kit. Add the gold 2″ diameter punched out partial circle above the sentiment so the flat edge meets up or tucks behind the sentiment banner. (Adding these at the same time will help with placement to make everything feel balanced on the card.)
  • Embellish with rhinestones from the kit. I noticed the one on the left on my card shifted a bit before I took the photos.

This is the second project I made: a beautiful birthday sampler framed décor piece.

Plus you can see several other alternate project ideas created with this kit in our blog hop: “A Paper Pumpkin Thing”! - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

I found the frame at Hobby Lobby. I can’t find a link to it online. Guessing it was a clearance item? It was originally this black frame with the wood background. And in the center were these welded wire words: boss babe. I removed the words which left the frame with 4 holes. So I attached my sampler to the front of this using the longest of my Metallic Brads.

I recommend adding the Basic Black Cardstock with the brands first and THEN building the designs on top of that. I didn’t do that. I made the sampler first and then found the frame.

Measurements to prepare…

  • Basic Black Cardstock
    • 8-1/2″ x 8-1/2″
  • Call Me Clover striped card base from kit
    • solid green: 2-1/2″ x 5-1/4″
    • striped pattern: 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″
  • Crushed Curry card base from kit
    • solid yellow: 2-1/2″ x 5-1/4″
    • polka-dot pattern: 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″
  • Terracotta Tile floral card base from kit
    • solid dark orange: 2-1/2″ x 5-1/4″
    • floral pattern: 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″

Directions…

  • Use SNAIL to adhere the cut card base pieces to the Basic Black 8-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ base.
  • Stamp the sentiments with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, and trim ends.
  • Add two of the largest gold foliage stickers. Use one full one on the solid green section. Use 1/2 of one on the yellow section. And use the other 1/2 on the dark orange section about one inch from the left edge.
  • Add the gold swirl sticker in the middle.
  • Now add the sentiment pieces with Dimensionals.
  • Use the Embossing Buddy to pounce powder on the back sides of some large and small flowers and some leaves to remove the stickiness. And add flowers and leaves (the non-sticky ones with Dimensionals, the sticky ones just flat as is) to the sampler as shown.
  • Finally embellish with rhinestones.

I’m not sure if you made the connection already. But I got the inspiration for my scrapbook page that I shared on the 21st after making this sampler. Yes, I shared my scrapbook page first. But I had already made the sampler beforehand when I was planning for this blog hop and loved it so much that I had to turn it into a page, too.

Paper Pumpkin Dec ’19 Something for Everything – Alternate Ideas

I rushed right into creating with my new December 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit because my mind was racing with alternate project ideas the moment I opened the box AND because I wanted to share with you right away. With my family on vacation for two weeks for the holidays I wanted to be sure to share with you before all of us went on relaxation, sleeping-in-late mode. 😉Hahaha!

This month’s kit (titled Something for Everything) included supplies to put together 12 attractive all-occasion cards (4 of 3 designs). And it included the supplies shown below.

The December 2019 Something for Everything Paper Pumpkin Kit. - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

I like to think outside the box…see what else I can come up with, and create alternate cards, scrapbook pages and more. So I added the extra supplies in the product list at the bottom of this post to the above kit contents and created my alternate projects that I’m sharing with you today:

  • Three K-Cup holders
  • A simple congratulations card
  • A flower pot card
  • A pyramid/teepee card
  • And a 12×12 scrapbook page

Watch my video first to get to get measurements, directions, and tips (you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog). Scroll down to see close-up photos, access the links that I mentioned in my video, and see a list of extra supplies (linked to my online store) that I used to make my creations. Then be sure to visit my blog again soon, because I have many more alternate projects that I’ll be sharing in early January. 😁

Here are the cards the kit instructs how to make.

(A correction to the flower pot card: the measurement for the base piece is 3-1/2 x 8-1/2″ as I mentioned. The print across the screen is incorrect. I’m so sorry for any confusion this caused.)

Winter Gifts Subscriber Card & Fun Treat

Two more ideas for all of you who received the Winter Gifts November 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit

I love the challenge each month of coming up with my final card design (a card for 5 of my lucky subscribers) using my leftovers from what I’ve already created with my kit. (And as you may guess from what I’ve made and shared already on November 23 and November 28, there weren’t that many supplies left over.) PLUS there is of course the added challenge that I need to make 6 identical cards from these leftovers (1 for me and 5 for those subscribers). But I did it!

Click here for directions, measurements and supplies AND to see more photos of a Christmas gift idea and a Valentine card I created with the November 2019 Winter Gifts Paper Pumpkin kit (the card I designed to send to a few of my Paper Pumpkin subscribers). - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

My valentine card is definitely “outside the box” – not Christmas-themed at all as one would expect with this kit. I used a couple new products that will be made available to all come January 3… products debuting in the 2020 Spring Catalog: The Heart Punch Pack and the Heart Doilies. Here are the details if you wish to recreate this card.

Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Measurements…

  • Whisper White Thick Cardstock
    • 4-1/4” x 11″ scored parallel to the short side at 5-1/2”
  • Early Espresso Cardstock
    • 4-1/8” x 5-3/8″
  • Poppy Parade Cardstock
    • Scrap for punching the scalloped heart and the small heart
  • Sahara Sand Cardstock
    • 3/8″ x 2-3/4″
  • Silver Glimmer Paper
    • Scrap for punching the large heart
  • Kit sled
    • For punching the large heart and the small heart
  • Kit silver twine
    • 7″

Directions…

  • Emboss the Early Espresso Cardstock.
  • Punch the hearts.
  • Trim up the bottom end of the Silver Glimmer Paper heart (as shown). Then use Glue Dots (from the Online Store as they are thicker) to add the Glimmer Paper heart to the Heart Doily. You’ll want to see the silver sparkle show through the punched holes in the Heart Doily.

  • Stamp your sentiment to the right on the Sahara Sand Cardstock strip. Either mask the stamp to ink up only the “with love” portion or cut your stamp before inking.
  • Tie a bow with the twine.
  • Layer the woodgrain heart onto the Poppy Parade scalloped heart.

  • Assemble your card by adding the doily first and then the sentiment strip so the right edge is flush with the right edge of the Early Espresso layer. Continue to use SNAIL Adhesive and add this Early Espresso layer to the Whisper White card base.
  • Now add the layered woodgrain heart with Dimensionals from the kit and the silver twine bow and little hearts with Glue Dots from the kit.
  • Finally adhere a large silver sequin from the kit to the center of the O in LOVE.

The commitment is to order at least $25 worth of Stampin’ Up! product in each of those 6 months. In one of those months, you would reap the hosting rewards (free merchandise based on the club orders). And then you’d also be able to get in on monthly product perks that would be sent to you along with your monthly club cards.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop – Winter Gifts

It's a Paper Pumpkin Thing blog hop… #stampyourartout - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

Welcome to our monthly “A Paper Pumpkin Thing” blog hop! See what I have to share. Then check out all the other blogs in the hop to see additional creative alternate paper crafting project ideas that we each came up with using the contents of the November 2019 Winter Gifts Paper Pumpkin kit. Here is a photo of the intended projects from this month’s kit: 24 holiday-themed gift tags of 4 various sizes and designs.

The November 2019 Winter Gifts Paper Pumpkin Kit. - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

I’ve already shared a few other alternate projects using the contents of this kit on November 23rd.

  • Two sets of 48 cards
  • Two treat bag toppers
  • And a 12×12 scrapbook page layout

Today I have for you three projects: a fun fold card (two versions) and a wine bottle tag.

When I opened my kit, I had no plan for what I wanted to make for my blog hop projects this month. But I knew I wanted to use just the left over pieces from the kit (the pieces that would remain if I had assembled all 24 tags as instructed). Those included the three Poppy Parade birds, the three Poppy Parade circles, the 3 small snowflakes, and the two white rectangle labels. I focused just on those pieces while I moved them around on my craft table and used my imagination. This was the first card I came up with just using the bird, circle and snowflake.

Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Measurements…

  • Garden Green Cardstock
    • 4-1/4″ x 8-1/2″
    • 4-1/4″ x 2-1/2″ scrap for die-cutting foliage
  • Basic Black Cardstock
    • 4-1/4″ x 2-1/4″
  • Whisper White Cardstock
    • 4-1/4″ x 2-1/4″
  • Silver Twine (from the kit)
    • 17″

Directions…

  • Die-cut the foliage from the 4-1/4″ x 2-1/2″ scrap of Garden Green and cut into two pieces. Score the Garden Green cardstock parallel to the short side at 4-1/4″, but do not score all the way across the paper. Instead put two score marks near the outside edges to indicate the middle.

  • Place the 2-5/8″-diameter Stitched Circle Die so it lies across the middle of the card. (I placed mine close to one edge so the half circle will sit left of center on my finished card. Then run it through the die-cutting machine so that the top cutting mat is only covering half of the circle (the half you want cutting through the paper).

  • If needed place the card base back in the trimmer and extend the score lines so they meet the circle. Fold the card in half, lay on a medium envelope and add a foliage piece on the circle area so it doesn’t extend beyond the envelope. Then secure with a few Dimensionals (placed in the center) from the kit.

  • Ink up only half of the “Let it Snow” stamp, stamp that image on the white side of the Poppy Parade circle, clean it off, ink up the other half, and stamp that image below.
  • Attach the circle to the top of the card.
  • Attach the snowflake to the bird with a Glue Dot.
  • Attach the Basic Black cardstock using SNAIL. Then attach the rest of the foliage with Glue Dots and the bird/snowflake with Dimensionals.

The third project is the wine bottle tag. Again I used those extra pieces. I had one bird, one snowflake, one Poppy Parade circle, and one white rectangle left. I kept used the same colors and extra tools and embellishments so that all three projects had similar layouts and coordinated
