Sending Hearts Page and Fun Fold Card

Today I have two more alternate projects to share that I made with the Sending Hearts Paper Pumpkin kit. Tomorrow is the last day to sign up (or have an active subscription) for Paper Pumpkin so you get in on this month’s February kit. And if your subscription is through me, you’ll be able to enjoy exclusive ideas shared in video tutorials from myself and 5 other creative Stampin’ Up! demonstrators on the PPX Crew.  Enjoy exclusive ideas shared in video tutorials from the PPX Crew of six talented Stampin' Up! demonstrators. - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

Here are a two more projects that I created with this past month’s Sending Hearts kit: a love-themed scrapbook page layout and a z-fold layer card.

My page layout was built around the triangle tile heart pattern you may have seen in quilting.

Here are a couple more alternate projects that I created with elements from the January 2021 Sending Hearts Paper Pumpkin Kit: a z-fold layer card that I gifted to a few of my lucky subscribers and a love-themed 12x12 scrapbook page layout. Extra products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.

    • Two pieces that are 12″ x 12″
  • Red patterned card base from the kit
    • Five squares that are 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″
    • Two squares that are 1-1/2″ x 1-1/2″
  • Red envelope paper from the kit
    • Five squares that are 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″
    • Two squares that are 2″ x 2″
  • Basic White Cardstock
    • Six squares that are 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″
  • Basic Black Cardstock for photo mats (these can be various sizes based on your photos)
    • 4-1/2″ x 5-1/2″
    • 4″ x 5-1/4″
    • Two pieces that are 4-1/8″ x 5-1/2″
    • Two pieces that are 4-1/8″ x 4-1/8″

Directions…

  • Prepare all the pieces according the measurements above.

  • Form the heart by following the pattern in the photo below. After laying it all out with spacing that seems even, adhere one piece at a time. (I found it easiest to add corners, then sides, and then the middle.)

Cute Mushroom Cards from Snail Mail Paper

I have to share with you a few cute cards that I made with the Snail Mail Designer Paper. My plan was to also use my Snailed It Stamp Set and Snail Dies,

Product List

…but I couldn’t find them. I looked and looked. And then I remembered I sent them to my team member Elizabeth Hebert last month during preorder time so she could start creating her fun Showcase Stamper projects that you’ll see on my blog tomorrow. Too funny…AND I forgot to reorder them for myself when January 5th came. So these cards will show you that the Snail Mail Designer Paper CAN stand alone if you want.

Snail Mail Designer Paper! - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

I’m in love with the mushroom images. So I fussy-cut a bunch of them from one of the sheets in the paper pack. Then I cut strips from the sheet with the rows of smaller mushroom. And I came up with these card designs.

The Snail Mail Designer Paper is too fun! I created some “no sentiment” note card using only this paper, Basic Black & Basic White Cardstock, a bit of the Oh So Ombre Designer Paper, and a couple fun accessories. Access directions, more photos, measurements, and links to all the products so you can make them, too. - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

    • Scrap for punching 2-1/4″ Circle
  • Basic Black Cardstock
    •  4-1/4″ x 1/2″
    • 4-1/4″ x 1-1/2″
  • Blushing Bride Cardstock
    • Scrap for punching 2″ Circle
  • Snail Mail Designer Paper (rows of mushrooms)
    • 4-1/4″ x 3/4″
  • Snail Mail Designer Paper (Bermuda Bay with stitched swirled)
    • 4-1/4″ x 1-1/4″
  • Oh So Ombré Designer Paper (Bermuda Bay)
    • 4-1/4″ x 2″
  • Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon
    • 4-1/4″

Directions

  • After cutting all the pieces and punching the circles, start assembling your card.
  • Add the blue at the bottom exposed inside section first. Then add the black cardstock at the top and bottom of the front flap. (You should see a section of white about 1/8″ tall between the black and bottom blue.)
  • Add the Oh So Ombré layer next under the top black.
  • Add adhesive under the top edge of the mushroom strip. Then add the ribbon to this. Using a bit more adhesive behind the paper strip, add it to the card as shown so it exposes just a small amount (about 1/8″) of black.
  • Add the larger mushroom/s to the pink circle. (Trim the bottom of the mushroom/s if you wish.) Add the pink circle to the white so it’s a little off-center. Then add this to the front of the card.
  • Embellish with Resin Hearts and/or Rhinestones.

Angled Corner Layer Valentine

Cutting a 6×6 piece of designer paper in the way that I’m going to share with you today makes it SOOOoo easy to give your cards that fun angled corner layer without waste. I used to just add a rectangular layer at an angle and trim up the excess on the two sides, but it took a bit more planning to make sure I was adding a good size rectangular piece without making it too big. Because again…I didn’t want to have too much waste. So check this out!

Click here to see my angled corner layer card that I created with the Forever & Always Stamp Set, the Always Dies, and the In Color 2020–2022 6x6 Designer Series Paper available in the January 2021 Sale-a-Bration Starter Kit. Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Measurements

  • Basic White Thick Cardstock
    • 4-1/4” x 11” scored parallel to short side at 5-1/2”
    • Scraps for stamping and die-cutting flowers
  • Basic Black Cardstock
    • 4″ x 5-1/4″
    • Scrap for die-cutting sentiment piece
  • Smoky Slate Cardstock
    • 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″
  • In Color 2020–2022 6×6 Designer Series Paper (available in the January 2021 Sale-a-Bration Starter Kit) – Magenta Madness
    • 1/4 piece of 6×6 (cut as directed below)

Directions

  • Mark lightly with a pencil 1-1/2″ in from each left corner on all four sides of your 6×6 designer paper. Use a straight-edge or ruler to draw a light line to connect the marks opposite of each other. Use the Trimmer to cut along those lines. Then erase the pencil marks or flip the paper over and use that side instead as your visible layer.

  • Add a piece of Adhesive Sheet to your Basic Black scrap. Die-cut the word “love.”
  • Stamp then die-cut the flowers. Use a Blending Brush to add a bit of Magenta Madness ink to the center of each flower. Use a Bone Folder to curl up the ends of the petals.
  • Attach the Magenta Madness designer Paper to the upper corner of the Smoky Slate layer.
  • Stamp “you so very much” parallel to and about 1/2″ from the bottom edge. Peel off the release paper from the die-cut “love” and attach to the card as shown.
  • Adhere this layer to the Basic Black layer, then adhere all of that to the Basic White card base.
  • Add the flowers.
  • And finally embellish with a few Rhinestones in the flower centers.

And today I have a couple more that I created with the October 2020 Joy to the World kit: a scrapbook page and a fun countdown to Christmas project.

I’m excited to show you my scrapbook page and Countdown to Christmas that I made using the contents of the October 2020 Joy To The World Paper Pumpkin kit and a few other products. Extra products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.

My page is love-themed (Valentine, engagement, wedding, etc). Although you could easily change out the title to “joy” or “peace” and maybe include other words or sentiments from the kit’s stamp set if you wish to keep it for Christmas. But I had fun cutting the letters from the other words apart to form the word “you.”

All of the photo mats are the embossed 3″ x 3-1/4″ and 3″ x 4-1/8″ pieces in the kit. So the only pieces I cut were the layers inside the center photo mat: 2-7/8″ x 4″ Cherry Cobbler Cardstock and 2-3/4″ x 3-7/8″ embossed piece from the kit.

Tips…

  • Lay all the pieces out first without adhering to get a feel for where everything should be.
  • Lift up the floral pieces and sponge Cherry Cobbler ink onto the Cherry Cobbler Cardstock to create a bit of shadow.
  • Optional but subtle details you would add at this point: add some score lines to the corners so the are running under the flower areas…add some speckles of Wink of Stella by tapping the brush against something hard as you move it above the base 12×12 cardstock.
  • Attach the photo mats and gold banners.
  • Attach the title pieces by sponging Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the back sides.
  • Add the flower pieces (two are up on Dimensionals) after attaching small loops of the twine (from the kit).
  • Stamp the berries image here and there around the floral/title areas.
  • Add Gilded Gems to the flower centers.

The countdown to Christmas project is made with the Christmas Countdown Kit. This is what the kit looks like when assembled as is. BUT there is a backside to each drawer! You can turn the drawers around and decorate them as you wish. So why not have two versions so each year you can change it out for variety?

The Christmas Countdown project kit is back this year. You’ll want to start out by cutting the kit cards and envelope printed lining into 1-15/16″ x 1-15/16″ squares (cut just under 2″ x 2″). I used two envelopes and two card bases to cut eight Cherry Cobbler printed, nine plain Crumb Cake, and eight foiled Crumb Cake squares.

Tips…

  • After cutting the squares, use the smallest Layering Circles die to die-cut a notch in the top of each. (Pay attention to the direction of your printed squares.)
  • Position where you want your floral pieces, then pick up each square to trim the floral piece to fit.  You can trim the 1/2 circle notch further out (as shown below) since there is a bit of room between the notch edge and the notch on the actual drawer.
  • Cut loops from some of the brass foil words and attach them peeking out from under a few of the floral pieces.

  • After figuring out where your floral pieces will go, stamp the floral stamp image on each of the outer plain Crumb Cake squares. Then adhere the floral pieces.
  • Attach your squares to the drawer fronts.
  • Then die-cut your numbers 1-25 from Early Espresso Cardstock scraps that have been backed with Adhesive Sheets. If you don’t have Adhesive Sheets, die-cutting as is is fine. But then I recommend sponging Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the back sides to adhere them to your squares.
