Brightly Gleaming Facebook Live Peeks

Today at 11 AM Central Time I’ll be hopping on my Facebook Page to broadcast live and share several ideas and projects that I made with the Brightly Gleaming Suite of products from the 2019 Holiday Catalog. Here are three of them that I’ll be explaining how to make. Products I used… See below for a list of products mentioned linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Our Copper Tea Tins go so well with this suite! And THIS tin shows off much of the awesome suite product: the Christmas Gleaming Stamp Set, the Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack, the Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements, the Brightly Gleaming Designer Paper, and the Star Designer Elements.

I really love the products in the Brightly Gleaming Suite in the 2019 Holiday Catalog! So I went a little crazy. Click here to view three projects (a copper tin box, an ornament and a craft supply/jewelry drawer unit), and then visit my Saturday, September 21st post for the recorded Facebook Live Online Class where I teach how to make these and a few others. - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

Here is an actual ornament I made from 25 punched ornament shapes, the large star from the Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements, some hot glue and some Multipurpose Liquid Glue, some Mint Macaron Textile Ribbon, and a couple punched circles (2″ and 1/2″).

Do you remember me sharing how I turned the Countdown Christmas Project Kit into a Halloween “Pick a Drawer” game back on my August 19th blog post? And do you remember the list of ideas I shared for other ways to use this kit?

  • Countdown to a vacation or a special visit
  • Countdown to a wedding
  • Countdown to the birth of a baby
  • Countdown to another holiday
  • Countdown to someone returning home
  • Drawers to hold craft items/embellishments
  • Drawers to hold notes/memories/trinkets for a couple celebrating an anniversary or for a soon-to-be bride
  • Drawers to hold notes of gratitude for Thanksgiving
  • Drawers to hold jewelry
  • Drawers to hold 25 things that are special about you or 25 reasons why I love you

Well… I love the green and copper designer paper in the Brightly Gleaming Designer Paper pack (I’m a huge fan of the color green!). And so I decided to decorate a set of these drawers with that sheet and another more solid green sheet from the pack, some Pearls, and some Star Designer Elements. Ta-da! I think this needs to be a permanent addition to my craft room.

Coffin Box Pirate’s Boat

Yesterday I shared how to turn that adorable Coffin Treat Box into a tombstone treat box. Well, did you know that you also can turn this box into a boat!? Yes!! Fun, right? With the help of the little duck image from the Birds of a Feather Stamp Set, I came up with a way to make a super cute pirate’s boat from that coffin.

I demonstrated creating this project from start to finish in my Wednesday, September 11th Online Paper Crafting Class on Facebook. I then uploaded the recorded version of my Facebook Live video to my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook). Be sure to watch the video (you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog), scroll through the close-up photos, check out the products lists below the photos, and then let me know if you have any questions.

Amazing what you can do when you just start playing around with products. Here are the corrected measurements and a few close-up photos. Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Measurements to start the boat…

  • Whisper White Thick Cardstock
    • Scrap for stamping and cutting out pirate
    • Scrap for tearing sail to about 3” x 4”
  • Basic Black Cardstock
    • 2” x 7” – cut down the middle between 1” and 4”, scored down the middle, scored at the bottom in the other direction at 3/4”, then angle cut into a tall triangle
  • Coffin Box (lid)
    • Cut 2-1/4” from the wide section, then score this section down the middle

Fun Coffin Treat Box Ideas

I just love the Coffin Treat Boxes in the 2019 Holiday Catalog. They are adorable as little coffins for Halloween treats of course, but I also turned one into a tombstone treat box! And… if you caught my Online Paper Crafting Class on Facebook Wednesday, you saw that I also shared how to turn this box into a boat. 😃(I’ll share photos of the boat and the video of the class here on my blog tomorrow if you didn’t catch it on Facebook.)

Here are my coffins. This first one I demonstrated for my Stampers With ART Stars in our Tuesday, September 10th Online Team Event.

I sent everyone in my group the coffin box base and lid, some Basic Black Scalloped Edge Ribbon, two stamped sentiments and two framed images from the Spooktacular Bash Stamp Set, the die-cut black Ornate Frame piece, and a little of the designer paper from the Monster Bash collection. During the demo, I shared making this box and how to spruce it up with the Blends Markers and a bit of Real Red Ruched Ribbon.

Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.

I paired it with this cute note card that I made with a piece of 6″ x 3″ Basic Black Cardstock scored at 3″ and folded in half AND embellished with smaller tombstones that I punched with the Timeless Label Punch and a couple Monster Bash Enamel Shapes.

Sponging some Basic Gray ink on the Basic Gray punched tombstones gives a spookier feel to the cemetery scene. I’m excited to hand these out at Halloween!

Autumn-Themed Curvy Keepsakes Boxes

One of the cutest treat boxes returns in the 2019 Holiday Catalog. And it’s miniaturized!!

The Mini Curvy Keepsakes box is a must have especially if you loved the original that we carried a few years back. I dove right in and created four adorable, fall-themed treat boxes with this die set and some coordinating new products. One box is exclusive to the September Stampin’ Anonymous Tutorial (which you can either purchase or get free when you place an order though me this month). The other three (along with one that my friend Susan designed) are what I am sharing with you today!

I demonstrated two of them from start to finish in my Wednesday, September 4th Online Paper Crafting Class on Facebook.

The sweet pumpkin box is perfect for Fall in general. Wouldn’t these be cute at each place setting for Thanksgiving?

Come see what I share on my blog… #stampyourartout - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

I just HAVE to show off my boys (again). Hahaha! This week was their first back for the 2019-20 school year.

Nicholas on the left is in 8th grade and is taking his first year of Spanish this year. He’s a percussionist in Band IV and will be performing with his Jazz Band this winter in Disney World! This is his 8th year of piano lessons. He is also in Cross Country again and Gymnastics (his first year and they put him in the most advanced class!). He has the busiest schedule in our family but loves the challenge. He even wants to find employment when he turns 14 this October. This kid has ambition. That’s for sure.

Luke on the right is in 7th grade and is loving his classes this year, too. He is in Choir again (hoping this shy kiddo will try out for some solo parts because his voice is heavenly). He is also in Music Composition, Creative Innovations, and Drawing (he is considering being an architect someday). He’s got a intensely creative mind, so I’ll be looking for some after-school opportunities for him. He’s not into competitive team sports, but he is very excited for Tornado Force this winter where he will be able to stay after school to learn about weight lifting and resistance training.

The boys are off for their first day of school 2019! Nick is in 8th and Luke is in 7th already. Time flies. Stamp Your Art Out!

They both will continue with Boy Scouts and are excited that we will be going to Open Gym on Friday nights at Nick’s gymnastics facility. It will be a great way to end the week if we can keep it up.

So far they are enjoying being back at school. Routine is good, and they missed their friends. And… Dad is back to dealing with them needing the bathroom at the same time he does in the morning. But we are working out the kinks.

Life is good. ❤️

Perennial Essence Wall Art

I just HAD to frame these beautiful Perennial Essence papers!

And even more so after seeing the samples on page 106 in the 2019-20 Annual Catalog.

I’ve been a huge fan of impressionist art (in particular the work of the French impressionist painter, Claude Monet) since I was a young girl. And I about fell over backwards when I opened up my first pack of this beautiful designer series paper (yes, I’m on my 3rd pack already only 3 months into the catalog).

The Perennial Essence Designer Paper is filled with impressionistic painted floral images – perfect for just hanging on the wall as is. Coordinating 3-D paper flowers adds even more. Click here for more details and a list of products I used to make my flowers. #stampyourartout #stampinup - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

These are the four designs I framed for my living room. And below are close-up shots of the 3-D flowers I added in the 2nd frame.

Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.

For the smaller white flowers I used the Medium Daisy Punch. For the larger white flowers I used the Daisy Punch (the larger one). For each flower I punched two of them from Whisper White cardstock. Then I lightly brushed Blushing Bride ink from the middle out using a Sponge Dauber so that each petal had just a touch of pink. I glued then together, then curled the petals forward with a Bone Folder. I added a Daffodil Delight 1/2″ Circle to the center of the larger flowers. Then each flower got a Perennial Essence Floral Center in the middle.

Click here for more details and a list of products I used to make my flowers. #stampyourartout #stampinup - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

For the purple flowers I used the 1-1/2″ Circle, the Balloon Bouquet Punch, the Magnolia Memories Dies (the skinnier 3-petal shape), and a very narrow (starting at 1/4″ and ending at 1/2″) and long (about 8″) strip of paper. After punching, die-cutting and hand-cutting the pieces from Purple Posy ink, I sponged on swipes of Blackberry Bliss ink – darker in the middle/center and lighter going out towards the end of the “petals.” I curled everything with the Bone Folder.

Then I started by building the outside of the flower by gluing 6 larger balloons/petals to the 1-1/2″ circle base so the tips of the balloons touch each other. Next I glued 6 smaller balloon “petals” on top of that. Again…so the tips of the balloons touched each other. Then I added two Magnolia Memories Die shapes using hot glue instead of just the Multipurpose Glue. And finally I added a tightly rolled up strip in the center using hot glue.

Click here for more details and a list of products I used to make my flowers. #stampyourartout #stampinup - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

I did NOT use the Balloon Bouquet Punch for the small purple flower. But instead I started with three layered Magnolia Memories Die shapes and ended with a tightly rolled up strip in the center using hot glue.

They were easy to make using the punches and dies, but they did take a bit of time.

Finally I arranged them where I thought they looked best and glued them down. I punched out leaves from the Old Olive vellum and foil paper. I curled them with a Bone Folder and inserted them here and there with Glue Dots.

As we move into the fall season, this artwork on my wall will definitely bring some extra sunshine to those days as they grow colder. The kids are off for their first day of school and will be waking up soon. So I’m off to go help them get ready.

Back to School Pencil Gift

This is the last week my kids have of their 2019 summer vacation. Most of the schools in our area are on the same calendar.  So teachers and staff are preparing for the students’ return…getting classrooms set up, take-home folders stuffed, lessons prepared, etc.

I was an elementary teacher for 13 years, and I always feel a bit of excitement at this time of year. Oh, how I loved putting my bulletin boards back up, rearranging the desks and furniture, smelling the new text books, visiting with everyone and hearing about their summer adventures, learning the new technology and curriculum being introduced, putting the students’ names on everything, laminating, and evening sharpening pencils.

Speaking of pencils…

I received an adorable 3-D swap from Sophie Prestrelle a couple incentive trips ago…

School is starting soon! Send them back with a fun and festive box of pencils. I decorated mine with the Dinoroar Designer paper, images from the Royal Peacock and the Make A Difference stamp sets, and some Leaves Trinkets. Click here for directions, measurements, tips, and a list of products I used linked to my online store. #stampyourartout #stampinup - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

…and decided I HAD to recreate it and share it with you using the colorful, new Dinoroar Designer Paper. What a great gift this would make for someone heading back to school (a student, teacher, staff member,…) or for someone who loves pencils or dinosaurs. Hahaha!

School is starting soon! Send them back with a fun and festive box of pencils. It takes a bit of time to make a box, but it’s not difficult. I made two similar in size to Sophie’s. And then I expanded the dimensions and made a wider third box. Below are the instructions.

Measurements for the skinnier box:

  • Lovely Lipstick (or Pretty Peacock) Cardstock
    • 8-3/4″ x 4″ scored parallel to the long side at 3/8″, 1-7/8″, 2-1/4″ and at 1/4″ from the other end AND scored parallel to the short side at 3/8″, 3/4″ and at 3/8″ from the other end (see photo below)
  • Basic Black Cardstock
    • 7″ x 1-3/8″
    • 7-5/8″ x 1-3/8″ scored at 1″ from each end
    • 5/8″ x 2-5/8″
  • Dinoroar Designer Paper

  • Whisper White Cardstock
    • 1″ x 3″

TRIMMER BLADES
The final shipment of Stampin’ Trimmer Cutting Blades (item 126995) arrived early. We expected to receive this shipment from our vendor in September and therefore told you we would provide another batch of blades in September. However, because the blades arrived early and we do not want to hold them back from you, we are going to make these final blades available on Tuesday, August 27, at 10:00 am (MT), and when they sell out they will be gone for good. Quantity limit will be 3 packs. But these probably will sell out quickly. So you’ll want to order right away.”
