Gathered Leaves Corner-Cut Card

About four days ago, I shared one of the two make-n-takes my Stampers With ART group made last week: the coffin box. TOOooo adorable! Right?

Today I’m sharing the second one.

Here is the second make-n-take project that we made during our September 2019 Stampers With ART team gathering online! It’s a corner-cut card made with the Come to Gather Designer Paper, Gather Together Stamp Set, Gathered Leaves Dies, and the Leaf Punch. Click here to get measurements, directions, and a supply list linked to my online store. - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

I got this corner-cut layout idea from a swap I received on the incentive trip from Ann Clemmer. (I shared it along with my other swaps on July 18th.) I thought it was clever and unique.

Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Measurements…

  • Pretty Peacock Cardstock
    • 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″ and folded in half for the card base
    • Scrap for die-cutting/embossing the leaf (or use what is left over after cutting off the corner of the card base)
  • Gray Granite Cardstock
    • 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Early Espresso Cardstock
    • 2-15/16″ x 2-15/16″
    • Scrap for punching two leaf clusters
  • Champagne Foil
    • Scrap for die-cutting/embossing the leaf
  • Come to Gather Designer Paper (pattern with white pumpkins and gray background)
    • Two pieces that are 1-3/8″ x 1-3/8″
  • Come to Gather Designer Paper (pattern with polka-dots on gray background)
    • Two pieces that are 1-3/8″ x 1-3/8″

Directions…

  • Measure 3″ up the right side and 3″ across the bottom from the lower right corner of the folded card base. Mark those two spots with a pencil. Then cut diagonally to remove the lower right corner of the card front.
  • Stamp the large leaf image on the upper left corner of the Gray Granite Cardstock using Pretty Peacock ink. And attach to the inside of the card.

  • Attach the Early Espresso square to the front of the card with Dimensionals.
  • Stamp the two sentiments with Early Espresso ink on the card front in the upper left and on the Gray Granite layer peeking out on the lower right.
  • Adhere the designer paper pieces to the Early Espresso square (now a diamond).
  • Die-cut and punch the leaves. (The dies also emboss at the same time!) Adhere them to the middle of the diamond using Glue Dots and Dimensionals.

This is what it looks like when I prepare to mail out my Stampers With ART make-n-take materials. My friend (and assistant) Vicki Spicer came over to help me with this process. Yay! Love that gal!

I’m already in the process of planning the October 16th make-n-takes. 😃

Come see what I share on my blog… #stampyourartout - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

This past Sunday was our fantastic Creative Connections event in Medina, Minnesota! Our local leaders group puts this on for our team members each year. This year I helped with assembling name tags and checking in the 290 attendees when they arrived.

Everyone does their part in some small or large way. Those that demonstrated and presented this year were Sue Nurnberger, Amy Rich, Lisa Schultz, Beth Tetzlaff, Dawn Olchefske, Bj Peters, Donna Griffith, Brian Pilling, Kay Kalthoff, Patsy Waggoner and Karen Titus.

The room was packed with energy and ideas. There were display boards everywhere, prizes for everyone, and opportunities to visit and take photos. People were swapping cards and having a grand time soaking in what they could.

Thank you to Terri Gaines, Susan Campfield, and Georgia Giguere for taking the lead once again on this super affordable training event! Those in my team that attended were all smiles! And how fun it was to have Brian Pilling and Donna Griffith from the Stampin’ Up! home office spend their day with us again.

Two More August Paper Pumpkin Projects

I loved creating with the August 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit! And today I want to share with you two more projects… a mini album (which you MAY have seen when it was shared by Cole Lambourne at Stampin’ Up! during their Facebook Live broadcast on August 27th) and the pretty card that I sent to a few of my lucky subscribers.

I made the album with with envelopes from the coordinating Gift of Fall Add-On Kit and elements from the August Paper Pumpkin kit.

You’d of course want to write along the left side of the inside of the card so that when the card is closed, what you wrote wouldn’t show through the see-through areas of the designer acetate. Here are some details if you wish to make this card yourself.

Measurements…

  • Whisper White Thick Cardstock
    • 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″ and folded into a z-fold
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock
    • Scrap for punching sprig
  • Mercury Glass Designer Acetate
    • 3-3/4″ x 5″

Directions…

  • Fold the Whisper White Cardstock into a z-fold. The crease should be in the middle. To the right of the crease is the inside area of the card.
  • Add 3-1/2″ of Tear & Tape Adhesive just to the left of the crease on the folded flat card base. Then add the acetate layer so it is centered. You should see 1/4″ white border on all four sides if you centered it well.
  • Wrap 48-50″ Linen Thread about four times around the top layer near the crease concealing the Tear & Tape adhesive underneath. Tie in a knot, then in a bow. Adjust if necessary to bring the bow to the center.
  • Add the colorful berries/leaves vellum piece with Glue Dots so it is tucked under the thread.
  • Add the Crumb Cake punched sprig with Glue Dots so it is tucked under the thread.
  • Add a leaf piece from the kit (flipped over to the white side) with Glue Dots so it is tucked under the thread.
  • Stamp the sentiment onto the label piece. And add to the acetate so it is overlapping the ends of the foliage pieces and the thread.
  • Add a Flower Faceted Gem.

Magnolia Shutter Fold Card

Last weekend at a demonstrator event put on by my upline Susan Campfield, my sister demonstrator Carol Rosengren shared a beautiful fun-fold card she made using the Magnolia Lane designer paper and the Good Morning Magnolia bundle.

Click here to see four beautiful shutter fold cards that I made with the Magnolia Line of products. You’ll be able to watch my video so you can see all my tips and tricks and get the step-by-step directions. You’ll also be able to access measurements, other close-up photos, and links to all the products I used. #stampyourartout #stampinup - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

As I watched her demonstrate, I realized that I may have never shared any shutter fold cards here on my blog before! Which surprised me since fun-folds are right up my alley. So I immediately started creating when I got home that day, and I came up with four other versions of her card.

One of them I shared from start to finish in my Wednesday, August 28th Online Paper Crafting Class on Facebook. I then uploaded the recorded version of my Facebook Live video to my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook). Be sure to watch the video (you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog), scroll through the close-up photos, check out the products list at the bottom of my post, and then let me know if you have any questions.

I hope you enjoyed the cards I shared in this video. Below are the updated measurements. And further down are close-up photos of all the cards I shared.

This is a fun one!!! When I saw the banner, I pictured it as a neck tie. And one thing led to another. This is the same technique for making shirt cards (which I just realized I’ve never shared with you… Click here to see my friend Julie’s tutorial). I just applied this technique to the bag.

Directions…

  • Remove the handles and the extra layers of paper inside the bag.

  • Flatten the bag. Measure one inch down from each of the top two corners and then one inch in. Draw a line on each side to connect these two measurements.

Butterfly Beauty Closure Card

It was fun to be back in my routine doing another Online Paper Crafting Class via Facebook Live this past Wednesday. I was super excited to share an updated version of my Dragonfly Closure Card that I featured back on April 6, 2018. So I used current products this time: the Butterfly Beauty Dies, the Perennial Essence Designer Paper and Vellum Cardstock, and the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set and shared how to adapt that same technique to this wider butterfly die that is available now. Making the front of the card a bit narrower than the base is the trick! See how the wings extend beyond?

I then uploaded the recorded version of my Facebook Live video to my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook). Be sure to watch the video (you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog), check out the products list below, scroll through the close-up photos, and then let me know if you have any questions.

OH! I also shared peeks of some new 2019 Holiday Catalog products debuting on September 4 that I received on Stampin’ Up!’s Greek Isles Incentive Trip. So you’ll want to view this video just for that reason alone.

I hope you enjoyed the card I made in this video! And I hope you enjoyed seeing all the product peeks. Below are measurements and close-up photos.

Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.

  • Perennial Essence Designer Paper
    • 4” x 3-1/8”
    • 5-1/4” x 4”
  • Perennial Essence Vellum Cardstock

Below are photos of two Dragonfly Closure Cards I made and shared back on April 6, 2018.  The wing span isn’t as wide, so the front of the card doesn’t have to be altered to bring the Classic Label Punch slot in further as in the card with the butterfly above.

Fun Fold Silhouette Thanks Card

Thank you to all of you who have helped my son, Nick raise money for his Disney World Jazz Band Trip that will take place this January 2020 by ordering product this month using his host code. And thank you to any of you who still plan to order using his host code. There is still a day and a half left. 😉 CLICK HERE to watch Nick’s video so you can learn more about this fundraiser. And if you wish to order, please use the host code SNJMKRP9 which will expire at 7 PM Central Time on Sunday, June 30th (tomorrow).

He has raised over $400 with this fundraiser alone so far! And we are now sending out our second set of thank you cards. I’m sharing that card with you today. I used the negative pieces from the team birthday cards that I made and shared with you on June 22nd, because I couldn’t throw them away! And I love how this card turned out.

I love the new Friendly Silhouettes Dies that just debuted in the 2019-20 Annual Catalog. Click here to see how I used these dies, the Well Said Stamp Set, and the Perennial Essence Designer Paper to make some clip-in fun fold thank you cards. I’ve included directions, measurements and supplies linked to my online store. #stampyourartout #stampinup - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

I’m calling it a “clip-in” fun fold card because the front flap folds inward and is held in place on the inside with a paper clip so it can stand on its own.

Come see what I share on my blog… #stampyourartout - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

Stampin’ Up! created an awesome resource called a Greetings Index. It doesn’t include all the stamp sets, but it’s a visual reference for many of the stamp sets that include lots of sentiments. You can find it here on my website by clicking on the Greetings Index option in the What’s New drop down menu.

Thanks for checking out what I had to share today.
