July 2021 The Adventure Begins Kit Alternate Ideas

I’m ready to share with you my first set of alternate projects that I made with the July 2021 “The Adventure Begins” Paper Pumpkin monthly subscription kit.

I’m excited to share with you some alternate project ideas I came up with using the contents of the July 2021 “The Adventure Begins” Paper Pumpkin Kit: how you can turn 12 cards into FORTY (more than tripling the cards in the kit) and my "You Shine" 12x12 scrapbook page layout! Click here for photos of all these projects, a video with directions, measurements and tips, and a complete product list linked to my online store. - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

This amazing kit contained the supplies shown below to make twelve fun-fold, outdoor adventure-themed cards.

The July 2021 “The Adventure Begins” Paper Pumpkin Kit. - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

The cards the kit instructs you how to make are fantastic. But I never assemble my kits as is, because I like to show subscribers other ways to use those supplies. I like to think outside the box…see what else I can come up with, and create alternate cards, scrapbook pages and more.

Today I’m sharing with you…

  • How you can turn 12 cards into FORTY (more than tripling the cards in the kit)!
  • And my “You Shine” 12×12 scrapbook page layout.

Watch my video first by clicking here to get to get measurements, directions, and tips (or you can just click on this image below if you are already in my blog post). Scroll down to see close-up photos, access the links that I mentioned in my video, and see a list of extra supplies (linked to my online store) that I used to make my creations. Then be sure to visit my blog again soon, because I’ll have many more alternate projects that I’ll be sharing on July 5th and again on July 9th or 10th.

Here are the cards the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)

Expressions in Color 4th of July Pages & Pinwheel Tower Card

Today is the last day to sign up (or have an active subscription) for Paper Pumpkin so you get in on this next kit title The Adventure Begins.

The July 2021 The Adventure Begins Paper Paper Pumpkin Kit. - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

So I thought I’d share a couple more projects that I put together with some of my leftovers from last month’s Expressions in Color kit.

The June 2021 Expressions In Color Paper Paper Pumpkin Kit. - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

I first made this Pinwheel Tower card using only three extra products… I added in Basic White & Fresh Freesia Cardstock although I could’ve used more card base pieces from the kit. And I also brought in Blackberry Bliss Ink even though I could’ve used an ink from the kit. So this card IS doable with what comes in the kit.

I’m excited to show you a couple more projects I made using the contents of the June 2021 Expressions in Color Paper Pumpkin kit and a few other products: a 4th of July-themed scrapbook page layout and a fun Pinwheel Tower fun-fold card. Click here to access measurements, tips, more close-up photos, and links to the products I used. - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

Extra products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Measurements…

  • Basic White Cardstock
    • Four pieces… 2-3/4” x 4-1/4”
    • 4-1/4” x 4-1/2” scored parallel to the short side at 1”, 2”, 3” & 4”
  • Expressions in Color pink/purple card base from the kit
    • Two pieces… 2-1/2” x 4”
  • Fresh Freesia Cardstock
    • Two pieces… 2-1/2” x 4”

Tips…

  • Follow directions in my how-to video for creating the base of this Pinwheel Tower Card (start around the 12:20 minute mark).
  • Ink up only the word “sending,” then stamp it on a small white banner towards the right. Clean off the stamp. Then ink up only the word “hugs” and stamp it on another small white banner towards the right.
  • Cut one of the vellum floral pieces in the kit in half and then in one of those halves in half again to get two pieces with a nice 90 degree corner on them. First adhere the stamped white banner piece to the vellum flower, then put more glue dots under that area and add the vellum flower to the Fresh Freesia Cardstock layers.
  • Cut one of the sequins in half before adding to the two white panels of the card.

The card flattened out (on any of the four sides) will fit into a medium A2 size envelope. Yay! Here are the ways I decorated all four sides of my card.

Two days ago after looking back on the fun my family had at the cabin this past weekend, I created this scrapbook page layout. We celebrated Independence Day also known simply as the 4th of July. So I cut apart and reworked the letters on the vellum words from the kit to get my page title. Hahaha! You can’t really see my “piecing together” areas unless you look super close.

Extra products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Measurements…

  • Pacific Point Cardstock (from the Brights 12×12 Cardstock pack)
    • Two pieces that are 12″ x 12″
  • Basic White Cardstock (from the 12×12 pack)
    • Two pieces that are 3-1/2″ x 12″
    • Two pieces that are 1″ x 12″
  • Early Espresso Cardstock (optional for photo mats)
    • Four pieces that are 4-1/8″ x 5-1/2″
    • Three pieces that are 3-1/4″ x 3-1/2″

Tips…

  • Use 1-1/2 pieces of vellum floral pieces from the kit. If you made the card above, you can use that leftover half and then another one cut in half.
  • Cut all cardstock pieces to size and then cut the vellum words as shown to get the “july” and the “th.” (These can be adhered with sponged on Multipurpose Glue.) The first photo shows where I cut for three of the words. The second photo shows the parts of those words that you need to keep. And the third photo shows those parts turned and repositioned to form the title.

  • Form the number 4, glue the small banners in place and allow to dry. This will be adhered with Dimensionals that have been cut in half.

Product List…things you might need/want in addition to the June 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit to make these projects (I listed the kit refill below because at the time I created this post, the kit was still available….just an option for anyone who missed out on getting the full kit with the ink and stamps. I also listed the Artistically Inked Stamp Set as an option for those that didn’t get the kit’s stamp set since there is a stamp image in there that will also “do the trick” for the bottom of the scrap pages.)

April 2021 So Cool PP Kit Alternate Ideas

I got my Paper Pumpkin kit a bit later this month…this past Friday in the late afternoon. Thankfully I had a bit of time this weekend and went straight to work creating, recording my how-to video, and photographing my April 2021 So Cool alternate projects so I could share them with you today.

This colorful kit contained the supplies shown below to make twelve fun-shaped cards.

I’m excited to share with you some alternate project ideas I came up with using the contents of the April 2021 So Cool Paper Pumpkin Kit: three “outside the box” cards, mini RAK cards, how to double the cards in the kit, and a 12x12 scrapbook page layout! Click here for photos of all these projects, a video with directions, measurements and tips, and a complete product list linked to my online store. - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

As many of you know, I never assemble my kits as is, because I like to show subscribers other ways to use those supplies. I like to think outside the box…see what else I can come up with, and create alternate cards, scrapbook pages and more. So today I’m sharing with you…

  • Popsicle “house” cards
  • Watermelon “pizza” card
  • How to get 20 RAK cards from the stickers
  • A fun watermelon 12×12 scrapbook page layout
  • And how to double the cards in the kit

Watch my video first by clicking here to get to get measurements, directions, and tips (or you can just click on this image below if you are already in my blog post). Scroll down to see close-up photos, access the links that I mentioned in my video, and see a list of extra supplies (linked to my online store) that I used to make my creations. Then be sure to visit my blog again soon, because I have many more alternate projects that I’ll be sharing on April 29th and again on May 9th.

Here are the cards the kit instructs how to make…well…my version of them without the twine.

March 2021 Here’s to You PP Kit Alternate Ideas

I just put together my first set of alternate projects using the March 2021 Here’s to You Paper Pumpkin monthly subscription kit! And I’m excited to share them with you today!

This kit contained the supplies shown below to make eight full-size cards for celebrating life’s little moments and mountain-high milestones.

The March 2021 Here’s to You Paper Pumpkin Kit. - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

But I never assemble my kits as is, because I like to show subscribers other ways to use those supplies. I like to think outside the box…see what else I can come up with, and create alternate cards, scrapbook pages and more. So today I’m sharing with you…

  • How I added a few extra supplies to triple the cards in the kit (includes a couple fun fold cards)
  • How I simply repurposed the kit box to make a gift box
  • And how I made a masculine-themed birthday 12×12 scrapbook page layout

Watch my video first by clicking here to get to get measurements, directions, and tips (or you can just click on this image below if you are already in my blog post). Scroll down to see close-up photos, access the links that I mentioned in my video, and see a list of extra supplies (linked to my online store) that I used to make my creations. Then be sure to visit my blog again soon, because I have many more alternate projects that I’ll be sharing on April 1st and April 10th.

Here are the cards the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)

Tripling the cards in the kit

Bouquet of Hope Easter Page & Easel Cards

Today I have a few more projects to share that I made with the Bouquet of Hope Paper Pumpkin kit: an Easter-themed scrapbook page, two angled easel fold cards, and cards that I’m sending off to a few of my lucky subscribers.

My creative process started out like this…

I wanted to use a gold doily as a stencil (you may have seen others doing this already). But I wanted just the floral area to get ink and nothing beyond. So I carefully placed sticky note paper pieces along the crazy edge of half the doily.

Here are a few more alternate projects that I created with elements from the February 2021 Bouquet of Hope Paper Pumpkin Kit: an Easter-themed scrapbook page, two angled easel cards, and the cards I gifted to a few of my lucky subscribers. Click here for more photos, measurements, a supply list, and helpful tips. - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

I made sure to add on a second layer to fill in any gaps between the sticky notes.

Then using a Blending Brush I added Mossy Meadow ink to the bottom edge of some Basic White Cardstock.

I had planned to make an Easter card with this 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece. But after stenciling, I realized it would be fun to use this and another like it to make a circle (rather than an oval that would be formed by the whole stencil) and turn it into a fun title piece on a scrapbook page. So I cut my Basic White into two (2-3/4″ x 4″ and 2-1/2″ x 4″) and I worked with the stencil and Blending Brush again.

I also found that after wiping away the ink from the gold foil surface of the stencil that I could reuse this as if it were untouched. The ink wiped off so easily!

So I took that now totally clean gold doily and cut a couple edges off to save as accent pieces.

Then I punched out 3 small balloons with the Balloon Bouquet Punch from the outer area of that middle section and trimmed them to look like eggs.

I punched out three more small balloons from Rococo Rose, Pear Pizzazz, and Basic White Cardstock (to make more eggs), punched and stamped a Pear Pizzazz 2-1/4″ Circle, connected my two stenciled Basic White pieces together with a strip of Rococo Rose in-between to form more of a circular wreath design, and then added the 2-1/4″ circle in the center (with a layered egg).

Next I added the gold doily edges peeking out the top and bottom, tied on some twine, and flipped this over to add Dimensionals in the four corners as shown.

And with a few more layers (measurements are below) here is what my finished page became!

To get the gold doily eggs onto the cardstock ones, I sponged on Multipurpose Liquid Glue. All eggs were added with Dimensionals to create a bit of shadow.

For my angled easel cards I wanted to use the floral bouquet die-cut from the kit. But the bouquet itself was too big. So I cut it down like this so I had two usable floral borders for later.

Then I added one of the smaller floral die-cuts to the ribbon/stems section (which I had to cut down a bit more). And I prepared the other main pieces of my card.

Here are the measurements…

Extra products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Measurements…

  • Basic White Cardstock
    • 4-1/4″ x 9-3/4″ scored in from the left at 4-1/4″ and scored again diagonally from the upper left corner to the bottom right corner of that square area. (see above photo)
    • 2-1/4″ x 3-3/8″
  • Rococo Rose card base from kit (or cardstock)
    • 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ cut in from the left at 4-1/4″ to get two pieces
  • Vellum layer from the kit (flipped over for the silvery/white side)
    • 4″ x 5-1/4″ cut in from the left at 4-1/8″ to get two pieces
  • Mossy Meadow Cardstock
    • 2-7/16″ x 3-9/16″

I folded the Basic White at the vertical score line, added adhesive to just the lower diagonal section,…

…and added the Rococo Rose square to the front left area of the white card base. Then I added the other Rococo Rose strip to cover the remaining white off to the right.

I stamped and added the small bouquet to the 2-1/4″ x 3-3/8″ Basic White layer, mounted this onto the Mossy Meadow layer, and then added this to the larger of the two vellum pieces so that when the vellum pieces were lined up everything would look centered. Next I added the main vellum to the front of the card making sure any adhesive was hidden under the Mossy Meadow layer.

To get the vellum strip to stick down on the right I first put it in place and added four large rhinestones to the corners of the vellum pieces as shown.

Then I lifted the vellum strip back up, flipped it over, and added a Glue Dot behind each large rhinestone.

The last step was adding the rhinestone “stopper” and stamped sentiment to the inside. After putting the rhinestone in place, I propped up my easel and positioned another strip of cardstock so it ran parallel to the bottom edge of the easel. I then opened the card up all the way and stamped the sentiment using that strip of cardstock and the rhinestone as a guide.

And did you see?… I also cut the b and e off the German word sticker to get the word “be.” For the word “you” I used my Stampin’ Write Marker to just ink up that word in the “sorry for your loss” kit stamp. Thanks for this idea Alanna Wharf!

One of the ways I show my appreciation for my subscribers each month is to draw five names randomly and send them a card I’ve created with the contents of the kit and some extra product of some sort. I decided to recreate one of the cards I shared on February 25th. I didn’t have many similar floral pieces left though, so I cut down another bouquet (as shown above) to finish off two of them. These are easy to make but so eye-catching.
