Feels Like Frost 3-Panel Scenery Z-Fold

I can’t get enough of this beautiful Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper!!

Feels like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper! - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

This paper comes in a 6″ x 6″ size. Thank goodness! Because I could NOT bring myself to using just a small piece of this gorgeous imagery. I had to use the full 6″ width when I came up with a design that I’m calling the 3-Panel Scenery Z-Fold Card. Just a small 2-3/4″ wide piece is on the front of the card. But when it opens, the rest of the paper is revealed. Can you imagine how big this card would be if the designer paper came in 12″ x 12″?!

Yesterday I posted my video where I shared how to make a this fun fold using the Dinoroar and Bird Ballad designer papers (both part of the BUY 3, GET 1 FREE promotion which ends September 30).

And today as promised I’m sharing photos, measurements and supplies for the ones I made with for my team with the Feels Like Frost paper.

Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Today I have for you a 12″ x 12″ scrapbook page spread focused on family/ancestral photos as the theme with Dia de los Muertos as its inspiration. Dia de los Meurtos (Day of the Dead) is a celebrated October 31 – November 2 and is a time to celebrate, pray for, and remember loved ones who have passed away. Common symbols for the holiday are the skull and skeletons which is why this paper pumpkin kit put this idea in my head. Flowers are important, too. And the colors are bright and vivid. So of course I brought in the Brights pack of cardstock. These colors are amazing against the black background!

Autumn-Themed Curvy Keepsakes Boxes

One of the cutest treat boxes returns in the 2019 Holiday Catalog. And it’s miniaturized!!

The Mini Curvy Keepsakes box is a must have especially if you loved the original that we carried a few years back. I dove right in and created four adorable, fall-themed treat boxes with this die set and some coordinating new products. One box is exclusive to the September Stampin’ Anonymous Tutorial (which you can either purchase or get free when you place an order though me this month). The other three (along with one that my friend Susan designed) are what I am sharing with you today!

I demonstrated two of them from start to finish in my Wednesday, September 4th Online Paper Crafting Class on Facebook. I then uploaded the recorded version of my Facebook Live video to my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook). Be sure to watch the video (you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog), scroll through the close-up photos, check out the products lists below the photos, and then let me know if you have any questions.

The sweet pumpkin box is perfect for Fall in general. Wouldn’t these be cute at each place setting for Thanksgiving?

Come see what I share on my blog… #stampyourartout - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

I just HAVE to show off my boys (again). Hahaha! This week was their first back for the 2019-20 school year.

Nicholas on the left is in 8th grade and is taking his first year of Spanish this year. He’s a percussionist in Band IV and will be performing with his Jazz Band this winter in Disney World! This is his 8th year of piano lessons. He is also in Cross Country again and Gymnastics (his first year and they put him in the most advanced class!). He has the busiest schedule in our family but loves the challenge. He even wants to find employment when he turns 14 this October. This kid has ambition. That’s for sure.

Luke on the right is in 7th grade and is loving his classes this year, too. He is in Choir again (hoping this shy kiddo will try out for some solo parts because his voice is heavenly). He is also in Music Composition, Creative Innovations, and Drawing (he is considering being an architect someday). He’s got a intensely creative mind, so I’ll be looking for some after-school opportunities for him. He’s not into competitive team sports, but he is very excited for Tornado Force this winter where he will be able to stay after school to learn about weight lifting and resistance training.

The boys are off for their first day of school 2019! Nick is in 8th and Luke is in 7th already. Time flies. Stamp Your Art Out!

They both will continue with Boy Scouts and are excited that we will be going to Open Gym on Friday nights at Nick’s gymnastics facility. It will be a great way to end the week if we can keep it up.

So far they are enjoying being back at school. Routine is good, and they missed their friends. And… Dad is back to dealing with them needing the bathroom at the same time he does in the morning. But we are working out the kinks.

Life is good. ❤️

Stylish Scroll Embossed on Vellum

Today’s card gives you a peek at the soon-to-be-new Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder, part of the Monster Bash Suite in the 2019 Holiday Catalog that debuts on September 4th.

I embossed a piece of Perennial Essence Vellum to share the awesome new Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder from the Monster Bash Suite in my box opening event for the 2019 Holiday Catalog. And then I used it to make card that has nothing to do with Halloween. Click here to get directions, measurements and a list of supplies I used linked to my online store. #stampyourartout #stampinup - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

As you can see, this embossing folder can take on a totally non-Halloween look. It’s quite delicate and pretty when embossed on the Petal Pink Perennial Essence Vellum. Here are the details if you wish to recreate this card yourself.

Measurements…

  • Merry Merlot Cardstock
    • 11″ x 4-1/4″ scored at 5-1/2″ and folded in half for the card bas
  • Whisper White Cardstock
    • 2-1/4″ x 4″ (for the inside)
    • scrap for stamping and punching sentiment
  • Perennial Essence Vellum (Petal Pink)
    • Two pieces that are 5-1/4″ x 4″ (one for the inside)
  • Perennial Essence Vellum (Old Olive)
    • scrap for die-cutting feather
  • Noble Peacock Foil (OldOlive)
    • scrap for die-cutting two feathers (one for the inside)

Products I used… See below for a complete list of products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Directions…

  • Emboss one sheet of the Petal Pink vellum. (You’ll notice the under side whitens up quite a bit. Vellum does this when its fibers are broken/bent.) Add this embossed vellum layer to the front of the card using Glue Dots near the corners under the sections where the scroll designs intersect.
  • Die-cut the feathers. Attach two of them together (one foil and one green vellum) using a Glue Dot. Then add this combo to the card front using a couple more Glue Dots under the bottoms of the feathers (where they will be covered by the white sentiment label).
  • Stamp then punch out the sentiment. Add this (using Dimensionals) to the lower right corner (over the bottoms of the feathers) of the card.
  • Adhere the 2-1/4″ x 4″ Whisper White layer to the other Petal Pink vellum layer being sure to first tuck in the other green foil feather. Then add this to the inside of the card with SNAIL. Be sure to add the SNAIL Adhesive only under the middle area of the vellum where the white cardstock sits.

I embossed a piece of Perennial Essence Vellum to share the awesome new Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder from the Monster Bash Suite in my box opening event for the 2019 Holiday Catalog. Pressed Petals Perfect Parcel Box

I love the new Perfect Parcel dies! The box you can assemble from the main die has such a unique closure and is pretty darn sturdy.

This past Wednesday I shared tips and tricks for assembling this Perfect Parcel Box using the lightweight Pressed Petals Designer Paper in my Facebook Live Online Paper Crafting class. I embellished it by adding ribbon, a label stamped with a sentiment from the Slice of Happiness stamp set, and a beautiful double-layered daisy with a Perennial Essence Floral Center.

I then uploaded the recorded version of my Facebook Live video to my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook). Be sure to watch the video (you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog), check out the products list below, scroll through the close-up photos, and then let me know if you have any questions.

I hope you enjoyed the boxes I shared in this video. Below are measurements and close-up photos for each box that I put together with the Pressed Petals paper.

Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Measurements for woodgrain patterned box…

  • Pressed Petals Designer Paper
    • Two pieces of woodgrain pattern that are 6” x 4”
  • Whisper White Cardstock
    • Scraps for punching the two daisies
    • 2-1/8” x 3-1/2”
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock
    • Scrap for stamping and die-cutting label
  • Pineapple Punch 1/8” Grosgrain Ribbon
    • About 21-22”

You’ll also be able to access measurements, other close-up photos, and links to the products I used. #stampyourartout #stampinup - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

As I mention in my video, remember not to die-cut both 4″ x 6″ pieces of designer paper at the same time. Doing so adds pressure on the paper closest to the die which can cause the scored areas to cut instead. This box I demonstrated assembling was cut where it should be scored because of this reason.

Measurements for floral patterned box…

  • Pressed Petals Designer Paper
    • Two pieces of floral pattern that are 6” x 4”
  • Whisper White Cardstock
    • Scraps for punching the two daisies
    • 2-1/8” x 3-1/2”
    • Scrap for stamping and die-cutting label
  • Blueberry Bushel 1/8” Grosgrain Ribbon
    • About 21-22”

The photo below is just a reminder image to guide your dies into your die-cutting machine at a slight angle…not head on.

I love how sturdy this box is. For this lightweight designer paper it is wise to add a 2-1/8″ x 3-1/2″ piece of cardstock inside at the bottom.

Butterfly Beauty Closure Card

It was fun to be back in my routine doing another Online Paper Crafting Class via Facebook Live this past Wednesday. I was super excited to share an updated version of my Dragonfly Closure Card that I featured back on April 6, 2018. So I used current products this time: the Butterfly Beauty Dies, the Perennial Essence Designer Paper and Vellum Cardstock, and the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set and shared how to adapt that same technique to this wider butterfly die that is available now. Making the front of the card a bit narrower than the base is the trick! See how the wings extend beyond?

I then uploaded the recorded version of my Facebook Live video to my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook). Be sure to watch the video (you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog), check out the products list below, scroll through the close-up photos, and then let me know if you have any questions.

OH! I also shared peeks of some new 2019 Holiday Catalog products debuting on September 4 that I received on Stampin’ Up!’s Greek Isles Incentive Trip. So you’ll want to view this video just for that reason alone.

I hope you enjoyed the card I made in this video! And I hope you enjoyed seeing all the product peeks. Below are measurements and close-up photos.

Below are photos of two Dragonfly Closure Cards I made and shared back on April 6, 2018.  The wing span isn’t as wide, so the front of the card doesn’t have to be altered to bring the Classic Label Punch slot in further as in the card with the butterfly above.
