Boho Indigo Make-n-Takes

Last night my Stampers With ART group gathering virtually for one of our special Team Gatherings. This time I sent each of them a special make-n-take packet of supplies – pieces from the Boho Indigo Product Medley and coordinating cardstock cut with the Curvy Dies. We made a box and a matching card. Because of the variations of the supplies I sent out AND because they provided their own stamp set and embellishments, I shared a couple options for them.

I just showed live on YouTube about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating these. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.

I hope you enjoyed what I shared in this video. Below are measurements, close-up photos, and a product list for what I demonstrated. (Please subscribe to my YouTube channel so you can get updates when I share and go live).

Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.

The new Jan-June 2021 Mini Catalog and Jan-Feb 2021 Sale-a-Bration Brochure were introduced to Stampin’ Up! demonstrators this past weekend at our OnStage@Home event. That special OnStage preorder period ended, but now all demonstrators will be able to preorder from ALL the products in those publications starting December 1st. So guess what!? I’ll need to do another unboxing video in early December. Stay tuned!

The Jan-June 2021 Mini Catalog and the Jan-Feb 2021 SAB Brochure! - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

If you watched my unboxing video, then you saw that beautiful Golden Garden Designer Acetate from the Fine Art Floral Suite that coordinates with the Fine Art Floral Designer Paper. I shared how one of the sheets of acetate lines up with one of the sheets of designer paper. WELL…there is one more pair! So I took those two pairs and cut 4″ x 5-1/4″ pieces from them as shown (while they were stacked in their acetate/designer paper pairs).

I’ve layered the Golden Garden Designer Acetate over the coordinating sheets of Fine Art Floral Designer Paper and then simple cut them together to get stunning backgrounds on my handmade greeting cards. Products I used… See below for a complete list of current products linked to where you can find them in my online store. Remember many of these items are not available until January 5th.

Measurements per card…

  • Whisper White Thick Cardstock
    • 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored parallel to short side at 5-1/2″
    • 1″ x 4″
  • Golden Garden Designer Acetate
    • 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Fine Art Floral Designer Paper
    • 4″ x 5-1/4″
    • 1/2″ x 4″
  • Gold Foil Sheet
    • 1/2″ x 4″
  • Fine Art 3/8″ Ribbon
    • 10″

Directions…

  • Cut the layered and lined up acetate/designer paper
  • Stamp sentiment from the Art Gallery Stamp Set from that suite using Mossy Meadow ink onto 1″ x 4″ strip of Whisper White Thick Cardstock. Then adhere to 1/2″ x 4″ strip of Gold Foil and attach that to the top of the acetate. Peel off the protective layer on the back of the acetate. (I made 12 of these cards and forgot to do that!)
  • Then attach the acetate to the designer paper by placing the adhesive behind the sentiment strip.
  • Tie the 10″ of Fine Art Ribbon around a Clear Block C as shown, slide off the block, and cut the large loop to get a 2″ long end on the right and a 3″ long end on the left.

  • Then wrap and adhere the those ends from the front (under the sentiment) to the back. Add a Glue Dot under the center of the knot to secure the ribbon.
  • Then attach this all to the front of the card base.

I’m Calling it a Bookshelf Card

I was on Facebook browsing the other day and a post came up in my newsfeed – a fun fold card shared by fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, Teresa Brown. She shared her card in an exclusive demonstrator-only Facebook group. But I didn’t see any directions from her in the comments or post itself. So I studied the card and figured it out. And I’m calling it a bookshelf card because it holds a bookmark AND because it looks like it has a build-in bookshelf. Hahaha!

I just showed live on YouTube about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating this unique card. I also showed three other versions of the card all using the Poinsettia Place Designer Paper, the Best Year Stamp Set, and some beautiful coordinating products.

Many Layered Blossoms Divided by Three

The cards I’m sharing today I actually made this summer for some July birthdays after falling in love and purchasing the Many Layered Blossoms dies and coordinating stamp set, Blossoms in Bloom from the 2020-21 Annual Catalog that had just debuted. Sorry that I forgot to share them earlier. Thankfully flower cards can be enjoyed year-round.

Assemble the die-cut Layered Blossoms, then cut into three parts for building three beautiful cards. Access more photos, measurements, directions, a downloadable PDF, and a supply list by clicking here. Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

They are fairly quick and easy cards to make, because you can literally decorate three cards with one assembled set of die-cuts.

Here are the details if you want to recreate a set of these cards yourself.

Measurements needed for three cards…

  • Whisper White Cardstock:
    • three pieces at 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored parallel to the short end at 5-1/2”
    • three pieces at 4” x 5-1/4”
    • three 2” Circles
  • Blushing Bride Cardstock:
    • three pieces at 1-1/2″ x 4”
    • three 2” Circles
  • Rococo Rose Cardstock:
    • 5” x 5-1/2” piece for die-cutting large blossoms
  • Cherry Cobbler Cardstock:
    • 5” x 5-1/2” piece for die-cutting large blossoms
  • Gold Metallic-Edge Ribbon:
    • three pieces at 5-1/2”

Directions for one card…

  • Die-cut the large blossoms: thicker one with Rococo Rose Cardstock, thinner one with Cherry Cobbler Cardstock. Layer these together with sponged-on Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Cut straight across to separate the two bottom flowers. Then cut the larger cluster of five flowers in half perpendicular to the first cut.
  • Emboss the Blushing Bride piece and adhere to the bottom of the 4” x 5-1/4” Whisper White piece. Add the flower cluster with sponged-on Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  • Color the ribbon with Cherry Cobbler and Rococo Rose Blends Markers. Allow to dry. Then attach to the front of this layer wrapping and adhering the ends to the back.
  • Stamp the outside sentiment on the lower portion of the 2” Whisper White circle. Cut off the top portion and add to the card layer tucking the top edge under the ribbon a bit. Add this whole layer to the front of the card using Dimensionals.
  • Stamp the inside sentiment on the 2” Blushing Bride circle. Then attach on the inside of the card.

5 Different Cards from One Fold

I was looking around on Pinterest for inspiration and came across a card by Patty Bennett. She used a long piece of Ornate Garden Designer Paper folded in 3 places to make an accordion style fun fold card. So I clicked on the pinned idea and it took me to her blog post where she shared how versatile this basic fold can be. I was reminded with one of her variations that I HAD indeed used this same fold in past cards I’ve made, too.

Patty showed that you can get four card variations from that folded designer paper, but I thought of one more. And I just showed these variations live on YouTube about an hour ago. (I used the Christmastime is Here Designer Paper, the Butterfly Wishes Stamp Set, the Sweetest Borders Dies, and All The Trimmings Ribbon, and the Wonderful Gems for the first card. And I used the Healing Hugs Stamp Set and Ornate Borders Dies for the second one.) And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post.
