I’m a math girl. I LOVE figuring out ways to make the most of our great Stampin’ Up! patterned papers. And today I have another set of measurements you may want to try out with your 6×6 sheets of scenic patterned paper for some quick and easy cards. These cards are not fun fold cards. The bases are basic 1/2 sheets of cardstock folded in half. But the cuts from the scenic 6×6 patterned paper allow you to create two completed cards from one sheet. I hope you like what I’ve come up with!
I’m featuring the Lily Pond Lane 6×6 Designer Paper and using 4 of the sheets to make 8 cards. Here are the base measurements you will need for each card. Additional more precise measurements for the front designer paper layers are below under the photos of each card.
Measurements…
Basic White Cardstock
3″ x 4-1/4”
3/4″ x 5-1/4″
Pretty Peacock Cardstock
5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to short side at 4-1/4”
Designer Paper
Two front pieces 5-1/4” wide that together are 3″ tall (The cuts are different on each card…see specific measurements for these two pieces under the photos.)
Two inside pieces that are 3/8″x 3″
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Here is the first sheet of paper and how I cut it for my first two cards. Even though with this sheet you could cut horizontally through the middle first at 3″, you will want to instead cut your 4 smallest pieces first. Cutting vertically first will prevent you from making mistakes on the other sheets.
Trim off 3/8″ in from the left edge. Repeat. And then cut those two strips in half at 3″ to get four 3/4″ x 3″ vertical strips.
Position your paper in the trimmer so you are cutting in from the top. Then cut in at 2-1/4″ to get the first horizontal piece. Cut at 3/4″ to get the next one, Cut at 2″ for the next. And you should end up with a 1″ tall piece for the last one.
Those pieces above along with the stamped Basic White pieces, the Pretty Peacock card base, and the Adhesive-backed Dappled Dots will give you these two cards.
Front patterned paper pieces above measure…
3/4″ x 5-1/4″
2-1/4″ x 5-1/4″
Front patterned paper pieces above measure…
1″ x 5-1/4″
2″ x 5-1/4″
Here is the second sheet of paper and how I cut it for my next two cards.
Trim off 3/8″ in from the right edge. Repeat. And then cut those two strips in half at 3″ to get four 3/4″ x 3″ vertical strips.
Position your paper in the trimmer so you are cutting in from the top. Then cut in at 3/4″ to get the first horizontal piece. Cut at 7/8″ to get the next one, Cut at 2-1/8″ for the next. And you should end up with a 2-1/4″ tall piece for the last one.
Those pieces above along with the stamped Basic White pieces, the Pretty Peacock card base, and the Adhesive-backed Dappled Dots will give you these two cards.
Front patterned paper pieces above measure…
7/8″ x 5-1/4″
2-1/8″ x 5-1/4″
Front patterned paper pieces above measure…
3/4″ x 5-1/4″
2-1/4″ x 5-1/4″
Here is the third sheet of paper and how I cut it for my 5th and 6th cards.
Trim off 3/8″ in from the right edge. Repeat. And then cut those two strips in half at 3″ to get four 3/4″ x 3″ vertical strips.
Position your paper in the trimmer so you are cutting in from the top. Then cut in at 2-1/4″ to get the first horizontal piece. Cut at 1″ to get the next one, Cut at 2″ for the next. And you should end up with a 3/4″ tall piece for the last one.
Those pieces above along with the stamped Basic White pieces, the Pretty Peacock card base, and the Adhesive-backed Dappled Dots will give you these two cards.

3/4″ x 5-1/4″
Front patterned paper pieces above measure…
1″ x 5-1/4″
2″ x 5-1/4″
Here is the last sheet of paper that I played with and how I cut it for my last two cards.
Trim off 3/8″ in from the left edge. Repeat. And then cut those two strips in half at 3″ to get four 3/4″ x 3″ vertical strips.
Position your paper in the trimmer so you are cutting in from the top. Then cut in at 2″ to get the first horizontal piece. Cut at 3/4″ to get the next one, Cut at 2-1/4″ for the next. And you should end up with a 1″ tall piece for the last one.
Those pieces above along with the stamped Basic White pieces, the Pretty Peacock card base, and the Adhesive-backed Dappled Dots will give you these two cards.
Front patterned paper pieces above measure…
3/4″ x 5-1/4″
2-1/4″ x 5-1/4″
Front patterned paper pieces above measure…
2″ x 5-1/4″
1″ x 5-1/4″
For all cards add the two front patterned papers first about 1/8″ from the outer edges. Then add the stamped white strip in-between to get good spacing. For the inside, add the middle white panel first with very little adhesive so it’s centered but removable, Then add the two vertical strips so they are each about 1/8″ from the outer edges. Add more adhesive to the stamped white center piece to add it again permanently so it’s centered well.
We had our huge garage sale (our massive paper crafting supplies sale) this week on Wednesday and Thursday. Here are a few photos I remembered to take from this annual event.
It was fun to see shoppers (many familiar faces, too!) ready and waiting at 7 AM.
This year we had TWO tents for shade and fantastic weather which made the two days even more amazing.
Shoppers saved big, we earned, and everyone had a great time!
One shopper was quite memorable to us. We are hoping she’ll come back next year too! Wink wink.
Thanks Deborah! (Look at her haul!)
Fifteen demonstrators from my group took part: Me, Cayla, Lailoni, Alyson,…
Michelle, Theresa, Beth, JoAnn, Joanne, Ashley (with her “factory seconds” from her company, The Country Hive), Tricia, Nancy,…
Amy and Mary (pictured in the third photo), and Lori (who is not pictured).
We are thinking we need to get a food truck next year and have cafe tables and chairs set up. Wouldn’t THAT be fun!? (If any local food truck owners want to take part, message me.) If you want to plan ahead for 2025, I’ve penciled in June 18th and 19th. The dates may change. But right now that’s what I’m aiming for. If you are subscribed to my newsletter, you will get the official dates when next spring rolls around.

One of the latest kit releases from Stampin’ Up!’s Kits Collection is the Expressions of Kindness Kit. And I have to tell you, it is one of THE most beautiful kits I’ve seen! The cards and envelopes have watercolor floral imagery in beautiful blues, greens, golds, and purples.
If following the kit directions, this kit creates four each of two different cards as you can see from the photo above. For my alternates (because I like to make something other than what the kit was intended to make) I “multiplied the kit.”
I took the supplies for the two different kit cards and envelopes, cut them into multiple pieces, added the pieces to Blackberry Bliss card bases, and produced eight cards! By doing this with the other card supplies, one could make 32 cards from the eight kit cards quadrupling the cards you can get from this Kits Collection kit!
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating these cards. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.

Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store. These are the same products used on my card that I shared on 5/8/24 with the addition of Blending Brushes, a few more ink pad colors, and some 12×12 cardstock (Early Espresso 12×12 from the Neutrals pack and Wood Textured Specialty Paper).
AdditionalMeasurements (these are in addition to those to make the card I shared on 5/8/24)…
Early Espresso Cardstock
(6) 4-1/8” x 5-1/2”
A portion of a sheet of 12″ x 12″ for cutting two 1-1/4″ wide diagonal strips
Wood Textured Specialty Paper
12” x 12”
Country Woods Designer Paper (light wood)
12” x 12″
Country Woods Designer Paper (colored wood)
A portion of a sheet of 12″ x 12″ for cutting two 1″ wide diagonal strips
Basic White Cardstock
Scraps for die-cutting all five flowers
Scrap for stamping and die-cutting the bird
Summer Splash Cardstock
Scraps for die-cutting all the single and double leaves twice
The slightly “tilted” colored wood plank strips are made by cutting diagonally from the 12×12 papers. Cutting straight strips and then angling on the page wouldn’t give you enough length to reach the top and bottom edges of the base layer completely.
To cut the strips as I did position the paper/cardstock in the trimmer so the top and bottom cuts are angled with a 1/2″ difference. (This photo shows my initial angled cuts.) Then just make sure the next cut to form the strip is parallel to the angled first cut.
I did adjust the first two birdhouse layers of the card to make them fit better on the left page…I brought them closer to each other. I added a bird (and the outline image of the house when I demonstrated this card in my Live) to the third one. And I added some color (Pool Party, Lemon Lolly & Petal Pink ink) behind the first two houses with Blending Brushes.
Extra flowers, leaves & Brushed Brass Butterflies embellish the rest of the page layout.
You never would guess these pages were all built around a card design. Right?
Thanks for stopping by to see what I had to share today.

Today I am sharing…
A unique fun-fold card that turns 90° and extends far when open
AND… a 12×12 scrapbook page layout
I’m calling the card a Twist Corner Wide Tri-Fold Card. Check this out…
To make this amazing card I used the full daisy card base from the kit, folded it closed the opposite way, opened it up and folded the upper left corner diagonally so that the left edge when folded back lined up with the bottom edge, then attached an extension piece on the right: a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock scored at 3/4″ on the left (for the overlap).
After connecting and folding, I added a 3-3/8″ x 3-5/8″ layer of Granny Apple Green and a 3-1/4″ x 3-1/2″ layer (stamped with the “beautiful birthday” portion of the stamp) of Basic White to the inside of the Pretty Peacock flap. On the opposite side I added a thin strip of the purple vellum to the edge, a die-cut leaf to the right and an upright butterfly that does not show when the card is fully closed. You’ll want to make sure it doesn’t show when closed because the rotation of the card changes.
With the card closed, I added a strip of purple vellum coming from behind the upper edge of the “corner.” I stamped the other half of the sentiment onto an arched label and attached it to the card with Dimensionals while also tucking and adhering a couple more die-cut leaves. I finished the card by embellishing with three more butterflies.
This is what it all looks like from the back when fully opened.
For my 12×12 scrapbook page layout, I was inspired by the exclusive card that I created and shared with my personal subscribers. (Some of you know what one I’m talking about.) I absolutely LOVE how it came together!
I prepared my pieces:
One sheet of 12″ x 12″ Basic White
Four pieces of 4″ x 5-1/2″ Basic Black
Scraps of Basic Black for the sentiment pieces
One piece of 2″ x 12″ Basic White
One piece of 2-1/8″ x 12″ Holographic Paper
Two 1″ x 5-1/2″ strips of the kit card with the tree image and clouds above
And two 1″ x 5-1/2″ strips of the kit envelope (I hadn’t cut mine down to 5-1/2″ yet in this photo)
Then I stamped the flower outline images randomly on the thin white strip with Smoky Slate ink. I filled in the flowers and leaves with “stamped off” Smoky Slate ink for a slightly lighter gray. For the smaller single flower image I used a Blender Pen dipped into Smoky Slate ink on an acrylic block to add light gray coloring on the petals.
I then masked the sentiment stamp, stamped it onto the black cardstock scrap with Versamark ink, stamped the full sentiment image again onto another area of the scrap, added the white embossing powder, and used the Heat Tool to emboss. I trimmed these words out by hand for my title pieces and set them aside.
To build the page, I started by adding the Basic Black photo mat pieces in the four corners. Then I added a 14″ length of ribbon adhered only in the center and on the ends which are wrapped around to the back.
I added the kit card and envelope strips right up next to the photo mat edges above and below the horizontal ribbon creating a look of an extended sky above the trees.
I layered the stamped white strip onto the holographic strip, tied on a bit more ribbon through the middle, added this to the page with Dimensionals, attached the sentiment pieces to the upper front with Dimensionals, and finished off the page design with some kit sequins.
I hope I inspired your creativity with what I shared today! If you did not get this kit, I hope you can apply these ideas to products you already own.

I shared two cards recently using the Layering Leaves Stamp Set images in unique and creative ways. The “flower on a stump easel card” I shared on March 10th. And the “bunny & carrots card” I shared on March 12. I knew I wanted to share one of them for today’s pre-recorded Wednesday Online Paper Crafting Class (I’m in Houston at a Stampin’ Up!® convention right now), but I couldn’t decide between the two cards. So I decided to share both in the video and then posts previews, measurements, and supply lists beforehand.
Either one of these is much easier to share directions, tips and tricks in video format. So I’m glad I did it this way. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post). Then visit my March 10th and March 12th posts to scroll through the close-up photos, access the measurements & supply lists, and even download the reference PDF sheets.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you had fun and got some creative inspiration from what I shared.
