I’ve been having a blast creating cards and projects from the Boardwalk Fun Suite of products in the new January-April 2026 Mini Catalog. Click here to view this suite in the Online Store. Click here to shop that catalog online.
On page 48 of the catalog, you’ll see some stunning cards with the roller coaster and ferris wheel images in silhouette. Well… I couldn’t resist and had to try my hand at recreating one of them.
Blending Brushes are amazing tools! It’s so fun to see a sheet of plain white cardstock transform with swirled on ink! And this card was very fun and easy to make.
Measurements…
- Basic White Cardstock
- 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4″
- Basic Black Cardstock
- Scraps for die-cutting the ferris wheel, the star (in the center of the ferris wheel), and the roller coaster set of cars
Directions…
- First place a strip of Masking Paper (or a long Post It® note across the bottom 5/8″ of the front of the folded card base. Use Grid Paper to be sure you have a nice even area masked off.
- Using Blending Brushes, color the remaining front of the card base to create the twilight sky. I added Gorgeous Grape at the top, Highland Heather in the middle, and Berry Burst at the bottom.
- Add a few drops of White Craft Ink from the refill bottle into a shallow dish. Add a few drops of water and mix. Pick up this ink with a toothbrush and splatter some small white ink drops onto the surface of the twilight sky. (Practice on a dark scrap of cardstock first to make sure that the splatters create the look of tiny stars.) Allow to dry. (I wasn’t patient on mine and I have a small white smudge in the upper left corner. But I covered it up i the photos. Hahaha!)
- Stamp the roller coaster with Tuxedo Black ink.
- Die-cut and add the ferris wheel. Trim off the excess cardstock extending off the right edge of the card. Die-cut the star and add it to the center of the ferris wheel. Die-cut the roller coaster cars and adhere them to the roller coaster image as shown.
- Peel off the mask. Stamp the word “celebrate” in the lower right with Berry Burst ink.
- Then (and this is most important…) write on the inside and give the card to someone special who should be celebrated. 💜
We should be mailing and giving those cards we are creating. Touch those lives around you with a handwritten message and your art from the heart.
I hope you were creatively inspired by what I shared today. I want to encourage you to CASE cards you see that you love. Recreating creative cards shared by others builds creativity and helps you think in the direction you may have not thought about or may have forgotten about.

PAPER PUMPKIN PRICE INCREASE
