I’ve been dying to try the Alcohol Ink Art technique for a few months now. And I finally pulled out my vellum, high concentration isopropyl alcohol, Blends Markers, and other tools and literally started playing! This was SOOOooo much fun. I’m now addicted, and I’m excited to share.
I just showed live on YouTube about an hour ago step-by-step directions for how to use Stampin’ Blends Markers, isopropyl alcohol, and various tools and products to get some stunning alcohol ink art designs to use as designer paper. I walk you through the basics. But I also share a couple creative options and tips for those who have already started playing with this technique. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.
I hope you enjoyed what I shared in this video. Below are measurements, close-up photos, and a product list for the card I demonstrated. (Please subscribe to my YouTube channel so you can get updates when I share and go live).

Today is the last day to sign up for (or have an activate subscription for) Paper Pumpkin so you get in on the upcoming October kit. (See the details below. Today I’ve got a few more projects that I created with the September 2020 “Hello Pumpkin” Paper Pumpkin kit. This image below shows what the intended projects for this kit look like.
I took the kit supplies, added in a few other products, and came up with:
a 12×12 scrapbook page
three cute Bath & Body Works PocketBac hand sanitizer holders
and a fun Halloween easel fold card.
I thought it was best to share the measurements, directions and tips in a video format.
Watch my video first by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already in my blog post). Scroll down to see close-up photos, access the links that I mentioned in my video, and see a list of extra supplies (linked to my online store) that I used to make my creations.
Here are close-up photos of the alternate projects I made and shared in my video. (Remember to watch the video first to get measurements, tips and directions.)
A 12×12 scrapbook page
We are looking forward to going to Eveland Family Farm this afternoon. I’m excited to add some photos of our pumpkin finds to this page!
Three cute Bath & Body Works PocketBac hand sanitizer holders
This is the Halloween-themed one I demonstrated.
Here is my cute Thanksgiving one.
And this one has a Christmas look to it.
Here is how I cut my two pieces for the front and back parts of each box.
Remember to hold those center parts with tape on the back sides.
Use Tear & Tape Adhesive to connect the two pieces together. You can have either pattern on the outside.
Add color to the box (optional), tape the bottom shut, add the hand sanitizer, tie on the ribbon, and then decorate.
I hope I inspired your creativity with what I shared today!

I love this new stamp set called Cute Fruit. You can find it here in the online store. Or you can find it on pages 6 & 7 of the Beginner Brochure. (It is not shown in the Annual Catalog.)
One of my favorite images is the watermelon. So I created a card with this image and the “one in a melon” sentiment so I could send out some congratulations cards to a few team members who promoted recently. When I was almost done designing the card, I couldn’t find an embellishment that looked right. So I made my own watermelon seeds by coloring on dried drops of Fine Tip Glue! Blends alcohol-based markers are awesome!
I just shared live on YouTube how to make these fun embellishments and how to make this card. I also shared how I made two other similar cards using much of the same products. Then I shared that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.

Stampin’ Up! has postponed that trip to next May and combined it with the 2021 trip which will also be Maui now (instead of the Southern Caribbean cruise). Maui will then become an extended trip for those of us that earn/earned both the 2020 and the 2021 trips. And our boys are excited because even though they had their hearts set on another cruise ship, they have always dreamed of going to Hawaii. And that is now where we will be taking them. ?
I made this tag in several designs to show off more designer paper patterns…AND because I was having fun with the color variations.
Here are the details if you want to recreate one (or more) of them yourself. After all, I have to believe we will be traveling again someday sooner than later. And what a nice way to gift a bottle of wine (or other beverage) and celebrated someone who will be going on an adventure.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
PDF Tutorial…Click here to access and download a direction sheet for this wine bottle tag.
Measurements…
Base Cardstock (Basic Black, Misty Moonlight, or Cinnamon Cider): 3″ x 11″ scored parallel to the short end at 3”
Middle Cardstock Piece (Basic Black or Misty Moonlight): 1-1/2″ x 2-3/4″
World of Good Designer Paper: Two pieces that are 3” x 2-3/4”
Gold Metallic-Edge Ribbon: 4-1/2”
World of Good Memories & More card piece: Trimmed strip of words that are about ¼” x 3” long
Directions…
Emboss the middle 1-1/2″ x 2-3/4″ cardstock piece.
Color Gold Metallic-Edge Ribbon with a Blends Marker (Dark Basic Black, Dark Cinnamon Cider, or Light Misty Moonlight).
Attach the colored ribbon and the 3” word strip slightly at a diagonal across the embossed 1-1/2″ x 2-3/4″ cardstock piece trimming off excess from the word strip and wrapping the excess ribbon and securing to the back.
Punch a 2” Circle from a scrap piece of paper or cardstock. Adhere this to the center of the top 3” x 3” section at the top of the base cardstock piece. Then line up the punch around this circle and punch the 2” Circle in top of the base piece.
Adhere the designer paper pieces at the top and bottom of the lower 3” x 8” section of the base piece. Adhere the middle piece.
Then embellish with a few Gold Gilded Gems.
Write a note on the back, and gift a bottle of wine with this tag.
I ran out of the first set of word strips. But I found another card in the Memories & More card pack that worked just as well and made the rest of my tags with those as you can see below.
I miss traveling. Where will your next trip be (or where will you want it to be) when this pandemic ends?

My project idea that I’m sharing today is a Center Step fun-fold card. I shared how to make a vertical/portrait version of this fold with my Box of Sunshine Paper Pumpkin kit on June 20th. And today I’m sharing how to make a horizontal/landscape version with several products from this beautiful Peony Garden Suite: Prized Peony Stamp Set, Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder, Elegant Faceted Gems, and Square Vellum Doilies.
The directions are best explained in a video. So I shared the details during my latest Online Paper Crafting Class on Facebook this past Wednesday (yesterday). I uploaded the recording of this class onto my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook) and shared it here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.

I was absolutely in love with a couple cards I saw shared recently by fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, Jay Soriano. So I of course had to share what I learned with all of you! It’s an amazing yet simple technique for creating color-popping images. The trick is to stamp images containing shading/depth onto white cardstock with black ink and then color them in using bright markers that range from light to dark. Adding color just outside the images and mounting onto dark cardstock enhances the color-popping even more.
The images in the Timeless Tulips stamp set are perfect for this. These images were intended to be stamped with colored ink, but when stamped in black and colored in…WOW! Click here to see the cards demonstrated by Jay at Mitosucrafts.com.
I shared my version of Jay’s card using the outgoing 2018-20 In Colors in my latest Online Paper Crafting Class on Facebook this past Wednesday.
