Welcome to our All Star Tutorial monthly blog hop for the Artfully Composed Suite! Be ready to be immersed in this eclectic suite with all that we have to share.
Besides the bookmark card I made for the All Star Tutorial, I also created three other cards recently with these products. One “delicate yet bold” design was based on a card I made some time ago for one of my Paper Pumpkin Palooza tutorials. The second was based on a card designed and shared by Gina K. because I wanted to go beyond the designer paper colors and patterns and go “bright and cheerful.” And the third was a further variation of this same design but with a different layout.
A few hours ago I shared live on YouTube step-by-step directions for creating two of these simple and unique cards. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.
I hope you enjoyed what I shared in this video. Below are measurements, close-up photos, and a product list for what I demonstrated. (Please subscribe to my YouTube channel so you can get updates when I share and go live).
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Here are photos of all the finished cards.
This photo below is how I started off creating the 4 cards above. After coloring these 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ pieces, I cut them into four equal parts, stamped them, and added them to my 3-5/8″ x 4-7/8″ layer of white. This I mounted onto my 3-3/4″ x 5″ black which then was added to my card base.
The sentiments are all stamped with Versamark ink on black cardstock, embossed with white powder, punched out, and added to the cards with Dimensionals.

School starts soon for my boys. So as a family we have been a bit crazy here getting in our last minute must-do’s…sports physicals, school forms, clothes and school supply shopping, multiple orientation events for my 9th grader, activities with friends and family to enjoy these last days of summer vacation, etc. And then on top of it, marching band is in full swing for my 10th grader. So he has been EXTRA busy with practices sometimes lasting up to 10 hours in a day.
Yesterday I was blessed to be a part of this marching band experience by being a volunteer/chaperone for their parade performance at the State Fair. It was a short performance with a thunderstorm canceling the event about 15 minutes in. But they can all say that they did it since they were at the front and marched for about 10 of those 15 minutes. And the hours before and after (we waited out the storm inside the busses) were wonderful too as we got to venture out and experience the fair.
Here are a few photos.
Nick was in the back row. He’s the bass drummer with the sunglasses.
I spent the non-parade time with my sister Renee and friend Rachel B who also were there as volunteers/chaperones.
The busy days continue even outside of the crazy family must-do’s. Today and tomorrow I am in the midst of a Stampin’ Up! leadership conference being held virtually called BackStage@Home. So not a lot of downtime right now. But lots of fun for sure!
Today I thought I’d share a couple cards that I created with the Beauty of Tomorrow Ephemera Pack pieces and practice pieces from when I was playing with the alcohol ink art technique last month. (Some of you may have caught that YouTube Live or saw the recording here in my July 14th post. These pretty pieces are shown around the 58 minute mark.) All I did was add these vellum layers over Basic White Cardstock to get the brightest of the color.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Both cards are blank on the inside, so I can really personalize them later for whatever occasion.
Measurements
Basic White Thick Cardstock
4-1/4” x 11” scored parallel to short side at 5-1/2”
3-3/4″ x 5″
Vellum Cardstock
3-3/4″ x 5″
Gold 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon
Two pieces that are 5″
Directions
Click here and watch the video I shared in my July 14th post so you can learn how to create this fun pink background with the Gold Leafing accenting. Adhere that piece onto the 3-3/4″ x 5″ Basic White Cardstock using sponged on Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Adhere the flower from the ephemera pack onto the front using sponged on Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Add seal to one side of one of the ribbons. Wrap that ribbon across the lower front of the pink layer about 1/8″ from the bottom edge. Secure the ends around to the back. Attach this layer to the front of the card base using Dimensionals.
Tie a knot with the other ribbon piece. Trim the ends, and attach to the lower right using a couple Glue Dots.
Easy and oh so pretty!
This second one is a bit more complicated but still simple enough to duplicate. It’s like a shaker card but without the shaker bits.
Measurements
Basic White Thick Cardstock
4-1/4” x 11” scored parallel to short side at 5-1/2”
3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″
Window Sheet
3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″
Vellum Cardstock
3-3/8″ x 4-5/8″
Directions
Click here and watch the video I shared in my July 14th post so you can learn how to create this pretty green background with the Gold Leafing accenting. Adhere that piece onto the Basic White card base (so it is centered) using sponged on Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Cut the center away from the Basic White layer. Cut to create a 1/4″ border. Glue this to the window layer (which is slightly smaller so it doesn’t go beyond the white frame. Allow to dry.
Add the Foam Adhesive Strips to the back of this frame, and attach to the front of the card.
Adhere the flower from the ephemera pack onto the front using sponged on Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Okay…back to the BackStage@Home Event (I wrote this in-between event breaks today…Hahaha!) Thanks for stopping by to see what I had to share today.

Stampin’ Up! designer papers usually come double-sided. And to add them directly to a card or project as a layer means having to choose between the two different designs. But the super easy card design that I’m going to share today allows you to show BOTH sides. This card design is perfect for newer stampers AND for those needing to produce several cards for some holiday or occasion.
I just showed live on YouTube about an hour ago step-by-step directions for this card using the Penguin Playmates Designer Paper, Penguin Place Stamp Set, coordinating Penguin Builder Punch, and White Glittered Organdy Ribbon from the upcoming new products that debut on August 3.

Welcome to the July 2021 Technique Blog Hop! See what I have to share. Then check out all the other blogs in the hop to see additional creative ideas that we each came up with using the Alcohol Ink Technique. To follow the hop and see other creative project ideas, simply scroll down and click on the “Next” button.
This technique is addictive…HIGHLY addictive!! My craft room is starting to fill up with fun samples. I shared a couple finished cards yesterday on YouTube.
(Click here to see my blog post with that video, close up photos of the cards and designs I shared, measurements, and a supply list linked to where you can shop in my online store. )
During that broadcast I brought out this sheet of vellum with a more earthly, masculine look.
And I put together this card below. The Alcohol Ink technique definitely is a fun background for alcohol drink images. Hahaha!
The swirly and marbled looks are also great for underwater and sky images. But really, the designs that you can create are just perfect alone with just a stamped or die-cut sentiment. Each sheet truly becomes a work of art.
Here are the details if you wish to recreate the card that I’m sharing today.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Basic White Cardstock
4-1/4″ x 11″ scored parallel to the short end at 5-1/2″
2-1/2″ x 3″
Vellum Cardstock
4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ (start with a larger piece if you wish and trim it down after the ink dries)
Mossy Meadow Cardstock
2-5/8″ x 3-1/8″
Black satin ribbon from the kit
2-3/4″ x 3-1/4″
Tips…
Watch my video to get tips for this technique. As you see at the end of the video, I added Wink of Stella here and there on my design to create the gold veins.
After coloring the whiskey with Dark and Light So Saffron Blends, I colored over it with Wink of Stella.
I added the layered center piece with Dimensionals.
And I finished it off with Gilded Gems that I colored with the Dark Mossy Meadow Blends Marker.
This technique is super popular in crafting right now. You can look it up on Pinterest and see all kinds of methods, tools, color combo inspiration, and end results (some creators even going as far as manipulating the ink itself into imagery – flowers, scenery, faces, words, etc.). You CAN invest in a lot of product to get those results. So that why it’s even more exciting for us in this hop to all share how with just a few Stampin’ Up! products that you may already have on hand for your other paper crafting projects you can get such fantastic similar results. Have fun creating YOUR art!
