This week I am part of a Facebook Live Hop called Live & Inkin’. We are featuring retiring products…giving them some “last minute” love before they are gone for good.
My Live was yesterday. I showed how to make this fun masculine celebratory jean pockets card using the Pocket Full of Sunshine Stamp Set, Night of Navy Cardstock, Cajun Craze Cardstock and Ink, sandpaper, some Metallic Brads, and sponged on Whisper White Craft Ink.
Isn’t it fun!? I love how the pockets are on the INSIDE of the card so that both the left and the right “cheek” of the pants can be viewed at once. This would be an awesome card for a graduation or a birthday. Most of the cards I’ve seen made with this stamp set are either cutesy or feminine. So I wanted to share how versatile this set really is. PLUS if you get this retiring stamp AND the coordinating dies, there is a new “pocket” stamp set that will be available on June 4th in the new catalog that will also work with the dies. And then holy moly!…Just think of all the fun cards and projects you’ll be able to make.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Night of Navy Cardstock
8” x 5-1/4” scored at 4” and folded in half
3-1/4” x 4-3/4”
Scrap for punching our “belt loop” pieces
Basic Black Cardstock
4-1/4” x 5-1/2”
Cajun Craze Cardstock
Scraps for stamping and cutting sentiment pieces
Copper Foil Sheets
3-3/8” x 4-7/8”
I hope you enjoyed what I had to share today! Remember this stamp set (and the Brushstroke Alphabet set) is guaranteed through May 24th and then only available through June 3, 2019 or while supplies last. The dies are carrying over to coordinate with a new pocket set. The stamp sets are different so you will want to have them both!

ANNUAL CATALOG NEWS Due to recent supplier issues (and other factors), Stampin’ Up! will no longer be carrying the current die-cutting machine and trimmer: The Big Shot and Stampin’ Trimmer are retiring. These changes are giving Stampin’ Up! the opportunity to research and explore replacement options. But there will be a gap when we do not have a trimmer or die-cutting machine available. You will not see these items in the upcoming 2019-20 Annual Catalog that debuts June 4, 2019. Click here for more information.
I love this sentiment from the Beautiful You Stamp Set! I’ve used it a lot on many cards, scrapbook pages and gifts I’ve made. AND, oh my gosh!…It pairs so well with the boots image from the Country Livin’ Stamp Set. I was trying to figure out how to finish one of my woodgrain stair step cards I started a couple months ago and shared at the end of this video, and these two stamp images were in the same place at the same time. With a hanging lasso made from our Natural Linen Thread and a gold brad “nailed in on the top step,” this card came together beautifully!
If you’ve never seen a stair step fun fold card before, you are in for a treat. There is a little bit of measuring, but if you watch this video where I share a similar stair step card, you’ll be able to make one too.
A super awesome feature of these cards with my measurements?… They fold flat and fit into our medium sized envelopes!
Measurements…
Soft Suede Cardstock
11” x 4-1/8” scored in from the left and right at 1-3/8”, 2-3/4”, 4-1/8” and 5-1/2” and then in the opposite direction (parallel to the long edge) at 1-3/8” and 2-3/4”
1-3/4″ x 1-5/8″
Whisper White Thick Cardstock
Scrap for stamping and cutting out the boots
Wood Textures Designer Paper
Two pieces that are 1-1/8” x 3-7/8”
Two pieces that are 1-1/2” x 2-1/2”
Two pieces that are 1-1/2” x 1-1/8”
Three pieces that are 1-18″ x 1-1/8″
Lemon Lime Twist Mini Ruffled Ribbon
At least 24″
CLICK HERE to see the stair step cards and my how-to video I shared on February 23, 2019. Watch the video to see how to put together a card like this. Then attach the designer paper, the stamped sentiment layer, the boots (with Dimensionals) that have been colored in with Blends Markers, and the lasso (which is just looped, tied in a knot and held in with a brad).
Did you fall in love with this card? If so, the supply list is below. But take note…the Wood Textures Designer Paper and the Country Livin’ Stamp Set are retiring. That means if you wish to get these products, click on the links below and purchase them soon. Once retiring products are sold out, they are gone for good. #OnStage2019
Eek!! Many of us Stampin’ Up! demonstrators are in the midst of OnStage right now. Many of us have the new 2019-20 Annual Catalog in our hands – those who are attending in New Zealand, Japan, Germany, the UK or France and those of in the US and Canada that attended the leadership dinner, CentreStage last night! (Today all demonstrators attending OnStage will have their copy.) I’m drooling over all the new designer papers, stamp sets, embellishments, colors, etc!!
I appreciate all those who are sharing on social media using #OnStage2019 or #AucklandOnStage2019 .
It’s so fun to see what everyone is sharing out there! I’ll post more photos from the Minneapolis local event on Monday when I also share the list of products that will be retiring from the 2018-19 Annual Catalog and 2019 Occasions Catalog. So stay tuned!
Saturday is typically the day I share here on my blog what I demonstrated in my Wednesday’s Facebook Live Online Paper Crafting Class. This time I couldn’t settle on just one card! So I have TWO cards for you today. I just couldn’t decide which one I liked best! I used the popular Wood Textures Designer Paper for each. And both cards have raised panels creating a channel either in the middle or on the sides. (By the way my second card was inspired by a very artistic Emma Goddard card. Thanks Emma!)
Rather than writing out all the details & directions for these cards, I shared that information in my Facebook Live broadcast. Then I uploaded the recorded version of this video to my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook). Be sure to watch the video (you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog), check out the measurements and products lists below (for BOTH cards), scroll through the close-up photos, and then let me know if you have any questions.
I hope you enjoyed this video! Here are the measurements you’ll need if you plan to recreate the boots card I demonstrated in the video.

OCCASIONS CATALOG NEWS
There are some products that are selling out in the 2019 Occasions Catalog already. These products were going to retire with this seasonal catalog anyway, but due to complications with Stampin’ Up!’s die supplier & not being able to replenish the inventory, the following items are no longer available:
Doily Builder Thinlits Dies (item 148553)
Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies (item 148529)
Rose Trellis Thinlits Dies (item 148549)
Detailed Birthday Edgelits Dies (item 148548)
ANNUAL CATALOG NEWS
Due to recent supplier issues (and other factors), Stampin’ Up! will no longer be carrying the current die-cutting machine and trimmer: The Big Shot and Stampin’ Trimmer will be retiring. These changes are giving Stampin’ Up! the opportunity to research and explore replacement options. And there will be a gap when we do not have a trimmer or die-cutting machine available. When the retiring list goes live on April 15, the order limit for the Stampin’ Trimmer Cutting Blade Refills will increase from three to six (and the limit will remain at six until they’re no longer available). And from now until September, SU will receive intermittent shipments from the supplier.
The dies and folders that will be offered will not be from our current supplier. So there will be small changes: the dies and folders will be manufactured differently; this means the way you use the new style of dies and folders will be a little different than how you used the old style. Both the new-style and old-style dies and embossing folders can work with any die-cutting & embossing machine (in some cases, adaptations like shims may be required because the gap between rollers on machines may vary slightly between manufacturers). Click here for more details regarding the changes to our die-cutting machine, dies and embossing folders.
I realize for many of you that this news may be a little jaw-dropping at first. I had a similar reaction. But after giving it a little more thought, reminding myself that change is an opportunity for new and better, and knowing what a strong company Stampin’ Up! has been for 30 years, I now anticipate some marvelous changes to come! And I’m excited.
There are some products that are selling out in the 2018-19 Annual Catalog already. These products were going to retire with this seasonal catalog anyway, but due to complications with Stampin’ Up!’s die supplier & not being able to replenish the inventory, the following items are no longer available:
Big Shot Standard Cutting Pads (item 113475) – please know that even though Stampin’ Up! no longer carries this, you can still find Sizzix Cutting Pads elsewhere
My boys have a vacation from school March 8-17. So to start off their Spring Break, I brought them 4 hours up north to my parents’ place. Isn’t this view of the frozen lake from their living room amazing?!
We left for the lake Thursday and are heading back home this evening. But we’ve had a wonderful time: waffles with whipped cream and berries,…
…trips into town for snacks, sleeping in the bunk bed room, watching movies, and of course outdoor fun! I know many of us in Minnesota are getting tired of the incredible amounts of snow we’ve gotten this year. (I feel sorry for those that don’t own a snow blower.) But my boys and I have loved all the sledding we’ve been able to do. And we we were in heaven at the cabin because the snow banks were high, the temps were super comfortable, and the long steep hill (their driveway in) was perfect!
My brother and his family were also up at the cabin. 4-1/2″ year-old cousin Yvette is always a ton of giggles and fun. And she “worships” her older cousins who adore her greatly.
The project I have to share with you today is the perfect cabin/lake card. I created it with the Best Catch Stamp Set, Catch of the Day Thinlits, and the Country Floral Embossing Folder (a free Sale-a-Bration Level one pick). I didn’t even intend for it to end up this way. I was going to use the floral embossed background to create an all floral card. But then my already colored-in fisherman fell on top of the Mint Macaron section while I was moving things around in my work space, and it looked like he was fly fishing on a misty morning! I added the fish and the “water droplets” above, and the rest of the layers came easily. I really love how it turned out.
Measurements…
Mint Macaron Cardstock:
4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″ and folded in half for the card base
Soft Suede Cardstock:
Two pieces that are 4-7/8″ x 3-5/8″
Scrap for punching out 2″ Circle piece
Delightfully Detailed Mint Macaron Note Card Front:
4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″
Whisper White Cardstock:
Scrap for stamping and die-cutting fisherman and fish pieces
4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″
Scrap for punching out 1-3/4″ Circle piece
Products I Used… See below for a full list of supplies linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Directions…
Emboss the Delightfully Detailed Mint Macaron Note Card piece. Then lightly sand it with sandpaper to expose the white core on a few of the raised floral areas.
Stamp the sentiment, then punch it out with the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch so the words are far off to the left. Attach this piece to the Soft Suede 2″ Circle. Then attach this to the embossed layer, and trim off the excess.
Add the Soft Suede 4-7/8″ x 3-5/8″ layers on the front and inside. Add the embossed layer to the front of the card.
Stamp the fly on the 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ Whisper White. Stamp the fish and the fisherman onto the Whisper White scraps. Use Blends to color in the images.
Die cut the fisherman and the fish.
Add the 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ Whisper White to the inside of the card.
Add the fisherman and the fish (on Dimensionals) to the front of the card.
Embellish with Clear Epoxy Droplets.
Thanks for stopping by today! I wish you a wonderful week ahead. I know my boys will be enjoying theirs!

The Classic Garage Suite is a fun one for making masculine cards and gifts. Here is a card we made at our Silver Elite Retreat. It features the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set, the Classic Garage Designer Paper, the Garage Gears Thinlits, the Classic Garage Metal Elements, the Black/Silver Striped Metallic Ribbon, and the Tailored Tag Punch.
Products: See below for a full list of supplies linked to where you can find them in my online store.
I love that there are images in the designer paper that can be cut with the dies. So that’s what I did with this card. The gears all are die-cut from a sheet of the 6×6 paper. In fact, 3 sets of gears AND several smaller gear images can be cut out of this one sheet.
Measurements…
Real Red Cardstock:
11″ x 4-1/4″ scored at 5-1/2″ and folded in half for the card base
Classic Garage Designer Paper:
About 1/3 of the “gears” paper
Basic Black Cardstock:
4″ x 5-1/4″
Scrap for punching Tailored Tag
Whisper White Cardstock:
Scrap for stamping and punchingTailored Tag sentiment piece
Silver Foil Sheet (I used Galvanized Metallic Paper from the 2018 Holiday Catalog, but this is now since retired.):
Scrap for punching Tailored Tag
Black/Silver Striped Metallic Ribbon:
11″
Directions…
Emboss Basic Black Cardstock with Subtles Embossing Folder.
Stamp sentiment. Stamp splotch using ink that has been stamped off a few times. Then punch with Tailored Tag Punch.
Punch this same shape from the Silver Foil scrap and the Basic Black scrap. Cut these each in half. Then layer them behind the sentiment piece using SNAIL Adhesive.
Add a bit more SNAIL to the back, then add the ribbon in a “folded back and forth” pattern. Add a few Dimensionals to the back to hold the ribbon in place. (Do not remove the backings yet.)
Die-cut the gears images. Sponge on Multipurpose Glue to the back sides of the gears, and attach to the Basic Black cardstock and to the inside of the Real Read card base.
Stamp a sentiment for the inside if you wish. I used a Happy Birthday image in another stamp set – Itty Bitty Greetings.
Attach the Basic Black onto the front of the card base using SNAIL.
Remove the backings from the Dimensionals on the Tailed Tag sentiment piece and add to the front of the card.
Then add the metallic wrench or key using a Glue Dot.
Here is another version I made.
And here are all four of our cards that we made at the Silver Elite Retreat. My mom’s card has a Pumpkin Pie card base. And Cheryl’s has a Crushed Curry card base. Too fun!
Now we are each “geared up” with a fun new birthday card!

CLING STAMPS ARE HERE!
Cling stamps just debuted in the 2019 Occasions catalog and Sale-A-Bration brochure! Click HERE for more information.
It’s been awhile since I’ve shared swap cards I’ve received from the creative people in my Stampers With ART Community. And I feel bad because I got these swap cards two months ago! Ugh… I hope you get some inspiration from these fabulous cards. The cards feature products from the 2018-19 Annual Catalog and/or 2018 Holiday Catalog. And the themes were Sympathy, Masculine or Teen Birthday. The talented demonstrators that made each card are watermarked into each photo.
Products: I can’t possibly list them all for each of these cards, but…see below for a list of main products used in these cards linked to where you can find them in my online store.
These first four cards are Sympathy themed. I love Diana Barber’s use of Wink of Stella AND her masking technique to get the tan oval to “spotlight” the bird.
Our mom/daughter team, Nancy Forsberg and Kayla Cory from Stampingbae combined the Flourishing Phrases stamp set with the Share What You Love suite of products to get this beautiful unique folding card.
Bridge-fold cards are so impressive. Aren’t they? I love this swap card from Robin Walston. The grays with the white Springtime Impressions floral die-cut is so striking & elegant.
Pat Frank really blew us away with how she got this soft floral design on her card. First she embossed on Vellum Cardstock. Then she attached that vellum to the same size piece of Crumb Cake cardstock using Adhesive Sheets. (The card base is Sahara Sand.)
The next 4 cards are Masculine themed. I love the Buffalo Check background image combined with the winter trees, the Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon and the soft blue and lavender hues added to the vellum. Verla Carpenter’s cards always have such fantastic details!
Have you ever stamped ONTO your embossing folders first before embossing your cardstock? That is exactly what Cheryl Lee did with her Nature Sings stamp images and the Woodland Embossing Folder. Such amazing results!
I can’t believe I own this Waterfront stamp set and STILL have not used it! There are so many beautiful cards I’ve seen made with it including Jenny Rehder’s shown here. And doesn’t it look great paired with the painted patterns from the Tranquil Treasures Designer Paper?
Ooo! Vicki Spicer used my favorite sheet from the Wood Textures Designer Paper Stack. What a perfect pairing with the Rooted in Nature tree image!
Broadway Bound is the perfect designer paper pack for teen birthdays. This next card by Lisa Nelson followed the Teen Birthday theme perfectly with the bold colors and the glitz of the Gold Foil Sheets and sequins.
I have a couple other cards to share that were given to me by stampers in my group. This first one Carol Lucas gave to me for my birthday this past August. It’s an amazing fun fold that incorporates lots of products in the Share What You Love suite. She CASEd this card from Linda Bauwin’s original.
And this card was designed by our talented Nora Marin. She sponged the ink onto Whisper White Cardstock to get the ombré effect. THEN she embossed it. So stunning!
I hope you enjoyed what I shared!
