We are busy preparing for Nick’s graduation party that will be held here on June 9th. He’s super excited and ready to move onto college to focus on Exercise Science, but will be enjoying a well-deserved summer off first. His last day of school is Friday, and the graduation ceremony is Monday evening.
In addition to party prepping, I’m creating many personalized graduation cards for the other kids we know that are also graduating this year. This fun fold card I’m sharing today is pretty popular. In fact, I found several versions of it out there on the internet. So I tweaked it a bit to make it large enough to hold a gift card upright AND large enough to fill our standard Basic White envelopes.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating these Grad Cap Fold Cards with Pockets using the the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set and other fabulous products from Stampin’ Up! I also shared measurements of other basic variations. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.

ONLINE EXCLUSIVES NEWS– NEW ITEMS ARE HERE! You won’t find Online Exclusives products in any catalog or publication. So be sure to visit this link to shop today. All Online Exclusives products are available while supplies last.
I wasn’t able to make the invites back in March for my son’s graduation party that will be taking place on June 9th. We needed something quick at that time, so we used Shutterfly. But I AM making time to stamp and put together thank you cards for Nick to write in and send. And several cards of congrats are already arriving in the mail. So I’m trying to make the thank you’s now rather than wait until after the party.
I had a bunch of stamped and punched leaves, because I’ve created MANY cards with the Layering Leaves stamp set during this past year (which doesn’t surprise many of you who know me and how this set came to be). So I combined them with a bit of woodgrain paper from the Country Woods pack (because it coordinates so well with the Shutterfly party invitations) and came up with this design.
Since I have a lot of already stamped and punched leaves, these first several cards were quick and easy to make. Below are the details.
Products… Scroll down so see my visual list of supplies linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Basic White Cardstock
4-1/4″ x 11″ scored parallel to the short side at 5-1/2″
2″ diameter circle
Basic White Cardstock
(2) 4” x 5-1/4″
1-3/4″ diameter circle
Country Woods Designer Paper
2″ x 4″
Gold Metallic Trim
(3) 1″
AND…cardstock and inks of your choice for stamping and punching leaves.
Directions…
Emboss one of the Basic White 4″ x 5-1/4″ layers with the Exposed Brick Embossing Folder.
Adhere the designer paper layer to bottom of it, and then add this all to the front of the folded card base.
Stamp the other Basic White 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer with the inside sentiment using Early Espresso ink and add to the inside of the card.
Stamp the front sentiment using Early Espresso ink onto the 1-3/4″ diameter Basic White circle. Adherer this off center to the 2″ diameter Early Espresso circle.
Stamp and punch leaves in the way you wish. Trim one of them into 3 separate parts (the top 4 leaves together and the two other leaves as singles). Add Seal Adhesive under the sentiment circle, then attach the trim and leaves coming out from the sides as shown. Add more seal adhesive and add this layered piece in place on the front of the card.
I hope you enjoyed what I shared today! Now it’s time to get back to graduation party preparations (putting together the photo boards today).
OH! And please connect with me when YOU have created a card or project with this stamp set. I love seeing what others are creating with it!

You’ve come so far & accomplished so much Congratulations
These are perfect sentiments for graduation cards, right?! You can find them in the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set.
For today’s post, I have some very easy-to-make and stunning cards to share. I have two versions to share, but I could’ve easily used any of these great patterns in the Full of Live Designer Paper pack and made even more. These papers are bright and cheerful and definitely mirror the joy of such an milestone event.
For a complete list of products that I used to make my cards, scroll down so see my visual list of supplies linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Here are the details on the first card – the blue/purple card.
Measurements for the blue/purple card…
Basic White Cardstock
5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4”
Full of Life Designer Paper
4” x 5-1/4”
Basic Black Cardstock
3/4” x 4-5/8”
Directions for the blue/purple card…
Adhere the designer paper layer to the front of the folded white card base.
Stamp the inside (not shown) “Congratulations” image with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
Stamp the front sentiment with VersaMark ink off to the right on the Basic Black strip. Add white embossing powder, tap off excess, and heat with the Heat Tool until the embossing powder melts and becomes a bright white and glossy. Do not overheat, or the white will start to dull.
Add the sentiment strip to the front of the card with Dimensionals.
Embellish with Iridescent Faceted Gems. (On this card I added 3 large and 2 small.)
And here are details on the second one with the squares.

We’ve been invited to quite a few grad parties this year since we have a graduating senior ourselves. (Nick’s graduation is June 3rd and his party is June 9th.) AND our other son Luke who is a junior has a few friends who are seniors, too. I think I’ll be making more of these cards this weekend. I really love how cheerful they are and how quickly they came together.
Thanks for stopping by to see what I had to share today. I hope I inspired your creativity.

Today I’m sharing the second card I assembled after receiving my Million Dollar Achiever stamp set, Layering Leaves.
I was inspired by this pretty card I received from my friend and fellow demonstrator, Amy Rudd. (She used the now-retired Splendid Day Suite to make her card.)
As you can see Layering Leaves is an all-occasion stamp set that coordinates with the Bough Punch.
This set is not available for purchase yet (not even for demo preorder). Stampin’ Up!® sent me my complimentary copy in March. But it will be available when the new 2023-24 Annual Catalog debuts May 2nd.
The first card I shared (and some details about how this set came to be) can be found in my April 3rd blog post. And I have more cards and projects that I’m creating! In fact six of them are for a class that I’ll be offering. And I’ll post information about that class tomorrow with peeks at those cards/projects. The class registration will begin at that time and include different sign up options! 😃
This card I’m sharing today also highlights the stamp/punch coordination. (So you’ll want to have both!) Here is the card closed.
And this is the card open.
(Amy’s is a z-fold card, too. But the inside just includes a note to me. So I didn’t photograph that.)
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements
Basic White Thick Cardstock
5-1/2” x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to short side at 2-1/8″ and 4-1/4”
Two die-cut circles: ~1-3/4″ diameter and ~2-1/2″ diameter
Scraps for stamping and punching 3 sets of Parakeet Party leaves
Enjoy the Journey Designer Paper
5-1/4″ x 8″ – cut in half for two side-by-side 5-1/4″ x 4″ pieces
Coastal Cabana Cardstock
One die-cut circle: ~3″ diameter
Scraps for stamping and punching 2 tiny sprigs
Scraps for stamping and cutting 2 large leaves
2022-24 In Color Glimmer Paper
Four tiny sprigs
Vellum Cardstock
Two punched sets of leaves
2022-24 In Color Baker’s Twine
12″
White Glittered Organdy Ribbon
7″
Pool Party Sheer Ribbon
7″
Directions
Stamp & Punch all leaves and sprigs. Stamp and die-cut all circles. Prep all the rest of the pieces above. And stamp the ‘best wishes’ sentiment on the second designer paper layer.
For the circle layer…
Add the middle white circle to the blue so it’s off-center. Layer on the leaves and springs gluing sparingly and using the smallest white sentiment circle as a guide as you go. It may even help to just use regular tape to hold things in place.
For the top half I started with the Vellum leaves, then added the large blue leaf, then the stamped green leaves, then the glimmer paper sprigs, then the blue sprig.
For the bottom half I started with the green stamped leaves. Then I tucked in the blue leaves and the glimmer paper leaves.
Fold add the ribbons. Again…adding regular tape may help.
Add the small white sentiment circle with the help of Dimensionals.
Tie a bow in the twine. And add that with a Glue Dot.
Assemble in this order: the circle and leaves layers first, then add that to the first designer paper layer, then add the designer paper layers to the folded card base. The designer paper is thinner than the cardstock. So adding the assembled circles/leaves layer first will stiffen the top layer up a bit and make the over all experience much easier.
I absolutely LOVE the basic sentiments in this set! They make your cards that much more versatile. This card can now be given for any celebration or milestone…graduation, birthday, retirement, wedding, engagement, moving, etc.
Thanks for visiting!
Be sure to stop back tomorrow to get the details on my class that will include the option to add in an autographed copy of my Layering Leaves stamp set.

I received my April 2023 All the Little Things Paper Pumpkin monthly subscription kit on Monday late afternoon. So I decided to share my first set of alternate project ideas in this week’s Live recording like I did last month (and the month before).
This is what comes in the kit. If you were to make the cards based on the directions, you would get 9 cards total (3 of 3 designs).
But I changed up the supplies to get double the amount of cards! Yay! AND each card is a bit special…stepped up a bit. In my videos below (Parts 1 and 2) I share all 6 of these cards – four in the first video and 2 in the second. Even if you didn’t get this kit, I hope the ideas I share can be applied to other products you own and inspire your creativity!
Watch my 1st video first by clicking here and then watch my 2nd video by clicking here to get measurements, directions, and tips (or you can just click on the images below if you are alreadyin my blog post). Scroll down to see close-up photos, access the links that I mentioned in my video, and see a list of extra supplies (linked to my online store) that I used to make my cards. Then be sure to visit my blog again soon, because I have many more alternate projects that I’ll be sharing on May 5th.
Here are the cards the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
And here are close-up photos of the alternate projects I made and shared in my two videos. (Remember to watch first to get measurements, tips and directions.)

On May 21st I mentioned that I would make a more masculine version of that day’s card. And today I am sharing it. This one (the graduation card on the left) also features the Perfectly Penciled Designer Paper and would be suitable to give to a male or female graduate.
Because it is black and white, it’s easy to customize this Perfectly Penciled Designer Paper and personalize the card to match a graduate’s school colors. Simply change out the background ink and sentiment strip cardstock.
To find the details on the floral card above, click here. For details on the graduation card, read below.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Copy Paper

Directions
Use a Blending Brush to add color across parts of the designer paper. Add to the front of the card base.
Stamp an inside sentiment on the white cardstock and the outside sentiment on the Crushed Curry strip. Add the white to the inside of the card.
Add the Crushed Curry to the black strip, then to the gold foil strip, and then to the front of the card base..
Die-cut the mortarboard hat. Use a pencil and ruler on the underside to mark the middle. Use the piercing end of the Take Your Pick Tool to poke a small hole in the middle. Then from the top side, poke through a bit more to make a larger hole. Insert one end of the gold trim. Insert the prongs of the brad. Then secure the brad so the open prongs hold tight to the trim end. Fringe the other end of the trim.
Use a Bone Folder to curl the copy paper. Using a bit of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the inside, roll the paper into a diploma. Use a Bone Folder to curl the gold foil strip. Keep curling until the foil layer starts to separate from the underside.
Then peel the layers apart. Add Tear & Tape Adhesive to the back of the foil and wrap around the diploma.
Add the mortarboard hat with Dimensionals and the diploma with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
I get asked a lot what I do with all my cards I make. I find a purpose for almost all of them. This card I shared today?…It’s going neighbor a few houses down. Congrats Brendan!!
