Are you a fan of gnomes? They seem to be quite popular in décor and crafting nowadays. And Stampin’ Up!® is in on the trend as well with their Storybook Gnomes Designer Paper which is one of the stars of today’s cards.
I saw a fun idea with these gnomes and the Tree Rings Hybrid products shared by fellow demonstrator, Terri Gaines and decided I needed to use it and put my twist on it. (Thanks Terri for the inspiration for today’s cards!)
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for how I paired up the gnomes in this paper with the Kindest Gnomes Stamp Set, the Gnomes Dies, the Tree Rings Embossing Folder & Dies, and the Ringed with Nature Stamp Set to get some adorable seasonal “peeking tree gnomes” cards. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.

Here are some quick cards I made with a few designs from this paper. It’s a super easy layout that allows the paper pattern to be seen when the card is open and closed.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements
Base cardstock
4-1/4” x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to short side at 5-1/2”
Celebrate Everything Designer Paper
2” x 4”
Inside layer cardstock
4” x 5-1/4”
Basic White Cardstock
Scrap for stamping and punching sentiment
Sentiment layer cardstock
Scrap for punching sentiment layer
Silver Metallic Mesh Ribbon (for Halloween card)
15”
Directions
Fold the base layer and emboss the front flap if you wish.
Add the inside layer and designer paper without adhering yet. Using this set up as a guide & stamp the inside sentiment. If you are happy with the way it looks, secure the layers in place with adhesive. If you stamped your sentiment crooked, rotate the inside layer and stamp again. You still have more chances if you mess up, because you can also flip this layer over and even rotate it if need be.
Stamp the sentiment. Punch it and connect it onto its coordinating sentiment layer. Then add it to the edge of the front flap with Dimensionals. Be careful not to place the Dimensionals where they will be exposed underneath.
Then add the finishing touches with embellishments or ribbons.
Remember…you would need a $150+ order to be able to choose this Celebrate Everything Designer Paper with your Stampin’ Rewards. But with the sale going on tomorrow (see below), it may make the idea even more enticing. (This paper pack has a fabulous value too!…Normally a pack of 12 sheets like this would be $12. But you can redeem this pack of 48 sheets by using only $18 of your Stampin’ Rewards – a huge savings!)

I personally was unable to take part, so I’ll be watching this today (I hope!).
We had a fun filled Friday-Sunday here at our place. Family visited to see our newly remodeled rooms, celebrate birthdays, and enjoy our kids’ busy weekend events – Homecoming for Luke and a marching band competition for Nick, Nick’s girlfriend Jaylene, and cousin Robbie!
Here are Nick, Jaylene and Luke enjoying the new couch that was delivered Friday afternoon. (Yippee! It came a month earlier than originally forecasted.)
Robbie (at the far end of the table) just turned 16 and Nick just turned 17. So my sister and I pulled our resources and skills together and gave them a Blues Clues party. They LOVED that show when they were little! And we couldn’t resist bringing everyone back to that time.
Here are Jaylene, Nick and Rob drawing in their “handy dandy notebooks.”
We also had Blues Clues cakes to eat…
and coloring sheets. Micala, my brother Bob’s wife colored 3 full sheets during the party! We were all very impressed.
Here are their adorable girls, cousins to my boys hanging out and eating at our new island. This was the first time the girls saw the changes to our house. In fact this was the first time MANY of our relatives saw the changes. We’ve been remodeling since January. I think the last time we had my side over was Christmas. (And the last time my husband’s side of the family were here – they live further away than my siblings – was a few years ago.)
Because the couch was just delivered that day, we ate at the counter or out on the deck. I’m on the left with my husband Tim. My mom Margo, sister Renee, dad Bob, and brother-in-law Don are also around the table. And we were grateful the weather was nice.
The next day Nick, Jaylene and Rob were busy with marching band competition practice and performance preparation. So although Tim’s mom Edie, sisters Kelly and Terri, and brother-in-law Jim came to visit, they never really got to visit with Nick and wish him a happy birthday in person.
Here we are (my dad and mom, Edie and Kelly) enjoying a late lunch/early dinner before taking off to watch the marching band competition/show.
Here we are (myself, Renee, Jim, Kelly, Edie, Terri and Tim along with my mom and dad on my right side) at the Champlin Park HS stadium excited to see Nick and Jaylene (on quad drums) and Robbie (on bass drum) perform/compete with their team, the Anoka HS Marching Tornados.
And I’m so excited to tell you that out of seven Class A high schools in this competition, Anoka got first place!!!
This weekend overlapped with Luke’s high school Homecoming events. He skipped out on attending his school’s football game Friday night so he could be with us for the Blues Clues birthday party. But he didn’t attend the marching band competition and hung out with his friends at the Homecoming Dance instead. Everyone had a great time. And we so enjoyed hosting in our new spacious main level.

Oh! Paper Pumpkin monthly subscription kits are so much fun! And I’m excited to share with you today my first set of alternate projects I created with this month’s Spooky Treats kit!
This kit contained the supplies shown below to make 18 Halloween-themed treat containers.
But I never assemble my kits as is, because I like to show subscribers other ways to use those supplies. I like to think outside the box…see what else I can come up with, and create alternate cards, scrapbook pages and more. So today I’m sharing with you…
How to turn the supplies for the 18 treat containers into 36
Six Halloween cards made from one set of kit supplies
Three non-Halloween treat boxes
Watch my video first by clicking here to get to get measurements, directions, and tips (or you can just click on this image below if you are already in my blog post). Scroll down to see close-up photos, access the links that I mentioned in my video, and see a list of extra supplies (linked to my online store) that I used to make my creations. Then be sure to visit my blog again soon, because I have many more alternate projects that I’ll be sharing on October 7th.
Here are the treat boxes the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)

This past week during my Online Paper Crafting Class on Facebook, I shared how to add divided areas to our Acetate Card Boxes to make a 3-sectioned gift box that shows off the goodies and treats inside. There is a bit of math involved, but I shared my measurements and gave tips to make it duplicatable. I featured new Spring Catalog products, too!… From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper, Heart Doilies, Heart Punch Pack, From My Heart Faceted Gems, Peaceful Moments Stamp Set, and Real Red 3/8” Double-Stitched Satin Ribbon.
I uploaded the recorded version of my Facebook Live video to my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook). And then I was able to share it here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video (you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog), scroll through the close-up photos, check out the products list below the photos, and then let me know if you have any questions.
I hope you enjoyed what I shared in this video. Below are measurements, close-up photos, and a product list for my project that I demonstrated.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper (available January 3, 2020)
6-7/8” x 4-7/8” scored on two long sides and one short side at 9/16” and 1-1/8”
5-3/8” x 4” scored on all sides at 9/16” and 1-1/8”
Whisper White Cardstock
Scrap for stamping and punching heart
Flirty Flamingo Cardstock
Scrap for punching scalloped heart
Basic Black Scalloped Edge Ribbon (retiring at 20% off)
16”
Here’s the box that I demonstrate from start to finish. Well…ALMOST to the finish. I actually forgot the last embellishments.
I added the last embellishments…those faceted gems with Glue Dots after I stopped recording though.
This is a fun candy cane/snowman version of the gift box made with the Let It Snow Designer Paper which sold out about a day after the Year-End Closeouts were announced this past Tuesday morning.
And here are the original boxes I made back in late October/early November. I used the Nobel Peacock Designer Paper and enclosed coordinating personalized M&Ms and personalized bone folders etched by Tamra Davis at Ta-Da Moments. These were the gifts I gave to my team members that attended the November 2019 OnStage locations in Las Vegas, Portland, Lansing, Atlanta and Hartford.
Here are six members of my Stampers With ART group who were hanging out with me one evening in Portland. I’m so happy they loved their gifts!
In fact many have told me they won’t be eating their M&Ms. LOL
I hope you enjoyed what I had to share.
Thanks for visiting!

Amazing ideas, right?!
My boys are now on a 4-day break from school. Last night their dad took them out to eat and to a trampoline park to celebrate. But really it was to get them out of the house so I could host our Stampers With ART Online Team Gathering through Zoom. It was SOOooo much fun seeing each other, sharing ideas, celebrating, etc. We had a special guest join us, too…Donna Griffith from the Stampin’ Up! home office! We ended with prize drawings and the make-n-takes. I’ll share those with you in future posts. So be sure you are tuned in so you can see those fun cards. BETTER THAN FLAT TUTORIALS I’m so proud to be teamed up with five other super talented Stampin’ Up!® demonstrators so we can create Fun Fold cards & 3-D projects to share exclusively with our customers, paper crafting friends & team members each month! (Our October 2019 projects featuring products from the Holiday Catalog are now available!) CLICK HERE for more information.
Here is a fun treat packaging idea inspired by the English Christmas crackers. These boxes resemble giant candy wrappers but can hold a lot more (depending on the size). I shared how to make these in my Facebook Live broadcast that aired September 24th. And now I’m sharing the photos, directions, measurements, and supplies here today.
The first ones I made with the Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper I basically just CASEd from page 31 in the 2019 Holiday Catalog.
Products I used: See below for a complete list of products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Then I made a few the same size with the See a Silhouette Designer Paper.
Measurements for large cracker box:
Designer paper
8-3/4″ x 9″ scored parallel to the long side at 1-3/4″, 3-1/2″, 5-1/4″ and at 7″
Ribbon for bows
12-14″ (two pieces – one for each end)
Directions for large cracker box:
After scoring paper, fold on creases and connect the two end panels together with two long strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive to form the rectangular prism. (Flatten to connect evenly.)
While still flattened, fully insert small ornament punch from the Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack. Line up score line going through the center of the paper with the center of the ornament, and punch. Do this at both ends.
Open and flatten on the other crease lines, then repeat the step above.
Insert treat or candy.
Use Blends marker to color ribbons.
Tie ribbons around the punched areas of each end to cinch box shut. (There will be a small gap at each end, but don’t tighten ribbon beyond or you may tear the paper.)
Add any other decorations (stamped or punched images) if you wish.
Storage area of this box size is about 1-3/4″ x 1-3/4″ x 4-3/4″.
After making these large ones, I decided to see how I could alter these measurements to work with a 6″ x 6″ piece of designer paper so I could get 4 boxes from one full sheet of 12″ x 12″ rather than just one.
They are smaller of course, but still a good size!
You’ll notice that the ribbon length is shorter for the smaller box, but that’s only because I tied knots instead of bows.
Measurements for small cracker box:
Designer paper
6″ x 6″ scored parallel to the long side at 1-3/8″, 2-3/4″, 4-1/8″ and at 5-1/2″
Ribbon for knots
5-6″ (two pieces – one for each end)
Directions for small cracker box:
After scoring paper, fold on creases and connect the 1/2″ section to the last panel on the other end using a long strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive to form the rectangular prism. (Flatten to connect evenly.)
While still flattened, fully insert 1″ Circle Punch. Line up score line going through the center of the paper with the center of the circle, and punch.
Storage area of this box size is about 1-3/8″ x 1-3/8″ x 2-1/2″.
These are easy to make, right?! Have fun creating, and let me know if you have any questions.

World Card Making Day is this Saturday, October 5th. This is a special day of the year to celebrate and create. Stampin’ Up! would love for our paper crafters to be a part of this special celebration by then making the following week (October 7-12) World Card Sending Week. They have sent out a challenge to our demonstrators to send 50,000 cards that week—that’s about one per demonstrator, but of course our customers’ cards count too! So report back to me to let me know when you’ve mailed out a hand-crafted card during that week. I’ll keep a tally, and then I’ll report our amount sent to Stampin’ Up! (Personally I think we can surpass this goal.)
MY ONLINE PAPER CRAFTERS CLUB IS LOOKING FOR NEW MEMBERS I’m forming a new Paper Crafters club that will begin mid-October (with orders due mid-month for November, December, January, February, March & April). And we are looking for more to join us. The commitment is to order at least $25 worth of Stampin’ Up! product in each of those 6 months. In one of those months, you would reap the hosting rewards (free merchandise based on the club orders). And then you’d also be able to get in on monthly product perks that would be sent to you along with your monthly club cards.
