On Monday of this week I attended a team meeting via Zoom. We were each challenged to create a card using our own products but following certain measurements and directions. And each of us ended up with different cards but with the same fun fold. I was so in love with the card I made that I changed my plans for what I was going to share during my Wednesday’s Online Paper Crafting Class on Facebook Live. (Thank you to Kelly Burkart and Carole Baumgartner for sharing this fold with me and to Connie Stewart which is where they got this fun fold idea from!)
So today I am presenting this tucked z-fold card that I demonstrated using new products debuting June 3, 2020 in the upcoming 2020-21 Annual Catalog: World of Good Specialty Designer Paper, Beautiful World Stamp Set and World Map Dies during my latest Online Paper Crafting Class on Facebook this past Wednesday.
I uploaded the recording of this class onto my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook) and shared it here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.
I hope you enjoyed what I shared in this video. Below are measurements, close-up photos, and a product list for this fun-fold card I demonstrated. (Click here to see the glue holder I have. Oh my goodness! Did you notice that the retiring Botanical Prints Medley is on sale?! This would be a great time to add it to your stash. Then you can create 48 customizable graduation cards like these from the medley’s designer paper!
I love how sponging (or sponge brayering) B&W designer paper can make a graduation card personalized to a graduate’s school colors!
The Botanical Prints Designer Paper from the Botanical Prints Melody is perfect for this! My nephew, Jake’s main school color is Maroon. So I sponged Merry Merlot ink on the designer paper to make his card.
And our 12th grade neighbor, Kallie is graduating from a school with gold as its main color. So I sponged hers with Crushed Curry ink.
For cards where school colors are unknown, omit the color. The card still looks elegant especially with that Glittered Organdy Ribbon peeking along the edge of the designer paper.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products I used for these cards linked to where you can find these items in my online store.
PDF Tutorial…Click here to access and download a direction sheet for these cards.
Measurements…
Basic Black Cardstock: 11” x 4-1/4” scored parallel to short side at 5-1/2” AND 1-3/4” x 1-3/4”
Botanical Prints Designer Paper: 3” x 5-1/2” AND 3” x 1/2”
Whisper White Cardstock: 3” x 3-3/4” AND scrap for stamping and punching sentiment
Foil Sheet: Two pieces that are 1/2” x 5-1/2”
OR Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon: 5-1/2”
Directions…
If adding color to black & white designer paper pieces, use Sponge Brayer or Stamping Sponge. Use a gentle touch by swirling sponge or rolling brayer completely off the paper & starting where the color would be darkest.
Attach designer paper to foil sheet strip or ribbon strip and adhere to the front of the card. Attach Basic Black square with Dimensionals rotated into a diamond position. Add the Designer Element to the middle to form the graduation cap.
Stamp sentiments onto Whisper White Cardstock. Punch “Happy Graduation” with Classic Label Punch and curl with Bone Folder. Then tuck left end a bit under Designer Element and adhere coming out to the right of the cap. I used a Mini Dimensional under the word Happy where my strip curved upward and under the end of the word Graduation.
Adhere inside Whisper White piece and small designer paper piece.

Here’s a card that may blow your mind. It’s called a Hexaflexagon. And it’s made from just one 2″ x 12″ strip of paper! A little background on this type of fun fold from Wikepedia… “In geometry, flexagons are flat models, usually constructed by folding strips of paper, that can be flexed or folded in certain ways to reveal faces besides the two that were originally on the back and front. Flexagons are usually square or rectangular or hexagonal. The discovery of the first flexagon, a trihexaflexagon, is credited to the British student Arthur H. Stone, who was studying at Princeton University in the United States in 1939.”

There are a couple patterned papers in the Mosaic Mood Designer Paper pack that can be cut into strips of varying border designs.
For the card I’m sharing today, I used two of those strips – one for the outside of the card and a narrower, softer design for the inside. I also discovered that the new Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon looked great next to the Mosaic Mood leaf pattern sheet. So cut out a couple leaves and paired up the Daisy Lane Stamp Set images to create this card.
Measurements…
Soft Suede Cardstock
8-1/2” x 5-1/2” scored at 4-1/4” and folded in half for the card base
Very Vanilla Cardstock
Two pieces that are 4” x 5-1/4”
Terracotta Tile Cardstock
Scrap for stamping and punching two large daisy images
Mosaic Mood Designer Paper
Two decorative strips that are 5-1/4″ in length (see card for the ones I used)
Scrap from the thicker strip for punching flower center with 1/2″ Circle Punch
Scrap from leaf patterned paper to cut two leaves.
Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon
5-1/4″ (but do not cut ahead of time)
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Directions…
Stamp large daisy image two times with Terracotta Tile ink onto Terracotta Tile scraps. Punch out images and curl the petals back on one of the flowers using a Bone Folder.
Connect the two flowers (curled petal one on top) using Glue Dots in the center.
Put SNAIL Adhesive down the length of the bottom/back side of the wider decorative designer paper strip. Straighten out un-cut ribbon, attach designer paper strip leaving about 1/4″ of ribbon showing, and then trim the ends of the ribbon to match up with the 5-1/4″ strip of designer paper.
Attach this strip 1/2″ from the bottom of one of the Very Vanilla pieces using SNAIL. Trim off any excess strip or ribbon if necessary.
Attach the narrower designer paper strip to the other Very Vanilla piece using SNAIL. Trim off any excess strip if necessary.
Stamp sentiment using Soft Suede ink above the strip about 1/2″ away from the left edge.
Adhere both Very Vanilla pieces to the Soft Suede card base using SNAIL.
Add layered flower using Glue Dots on the back center of the flower.
Add cut out leaves and punched out flower center using SNAIL.
I loved this card so much that I made many. And I’m sending them out to those in my Stampers With ART group that made top sales. But that sentiment could be used for so many other reasons: someone getting a new job or promotion, someone performing on stage, someone graduating,… It’s an awesome sentiment for acknowledging an achievement of any kind.
You’ll find some other useful sentiments in this set, too. And the two daisy images coordinate with two different daisy punches! (My smaller Medium Daisy Punch just arrived with my order of other new products Thursday night!)
So no need fo fussy cut either of them. Just stamp and punch and build a bouquet! ?

This week I am part of a Facebook Live Hop called Live & Inkin’. We are featuring retiring products…giving them some “last minute” love before they are gone for good.
My Live was yesterday. I showed how to make this fun masculine celebratory jean pockets card using the Pocket Full of Sunshine Stamp Set, Night of Navy Cardstock, Cajun Craze Cardstock and Ink, sandpaper, some Metallic Brads, and sponged on Whisper White Craft Ink.
Isn’t it fun!? I love how the pockets are on the INSIDE of the card so that both the left and the right “cheek” of the pants can be viewed at once. This would be an awesome card for a graduation or a birthday. Most of the cards I’ve seen made with this stamp set are either cutesy or feminine. So I wanted to share how versatile this set really is. PLUS if you get this retiring stamp AND the coordinating dies, there is a new “pocket” stamp set that will be available on June 4th in the new catalog that will also work with the dies. And then holy moly!…Just think of all the fun cards and projects you’ll be able to make.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Night of Navy Cardstock
8” x 5-1/4” scored at 4” and folded in half
3-1/4” x 4-3/4”
Scrap for punching our “belt loop” pieces
Basic Black Cardstock
4-1/4” x 5-1/2”
Cajun Craze Cardstock
Scraps for stamping and cutting sentiment pieces
Copper Foil Sheets
3-3/8” x 4-7/8”
I hope you enjoyed what I had to share today! Remember this stamp set (and the Brushstroke Alphabet set) is guaranteed through May 24th and then only available through June 3, 2019 or while supplies last. The dies are carrying over to coordinate with a new pocket set. The stamp sets are different so you will want to have them both!
