An email went out to all my blog subscribers a little over an hour ago titled “Hello World.” I didn’t send it. And I couldn’t message you all until now to let you know.
My website was going through “server maintenance, restart, and performance tuning” earlier today. And while the server upgrade was happening, my site sent out this errant new post email. So the glitch happened because of this.

There are so many new products that just became available. So of course I’ve been creating LOTS of cards and projects for upcoming team recognitions, demonstrator events, swaps, birthdays, club member gifts, etc. I had to make up for the time I had to take off to recover from my surgery, so my focus these past several days was on making quite a few beautiful but simple cards using distinktive (or similar) stamp images. And today I’d like to share with you the approach I took so you can make similar beautiful greeting cards without a lot of effort or expensive tools.
I just showed live on YouTube about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating three different cards where I used this same approach which all feature newer products: the Flowing Flowers, Gentle Waves, On the Horizons, and Island Vibes stamp sets, and the Faux Sea Glass Shapes, Iridescent Rhinestones, Brushed Brass Butterflies embellishments. The card I’m sharing today features the stunning Peaceful Place Suite of products from the July-Dec 2021 Mini Catalog and is assembled to show off both sides of the beautiful designer paper. You’ve possibly seen me share this type of card before on August 6, 2021, July 21, 2021, and even back on July 15, 2018. But it’s a favorite of mine because it’s such an easy way to make the front and the inside decorative.

Measurements
Evening Evergreen Cardstock
5-1/2” x 5-1/4” scored parallel to the long side at 4-1/4”
Basic Black Cardstock
Scrap for punching sentiment layer
Basic White Cardstock
4” x 5-1/2”
Scrap for stamping & punching sentiment piece
Peaceful Place Designer Paper
4” x 5-1/4”
Glittered Organdy Ribbon

Directions
Stamp sentiment in black ink and punch the sentiment piece leaving room for the tree. The tree is a super light version of Evening Evergreen. So stamp off twice on scrap paper before stamping on the white cardstock.
Punch this shape again from Basic Black cardstock. Cut in half horizontally. Layer on the back of the white sentiment piece.
Fold the card base piece on the score line and reinforce the fold using the Bone Folder.
Stamp and adhere the 4” x 5-1/2” layer so it’s centered in the “inside” of the card. The snowflakes are a super light version of Evening Evergreen. So stamp off 2 or 3 times on scrap paper before stamping on the white.
Now add adhesive under the 1″ wide area, place the designer paper so that it is centered on the “inside” of the card over the white layer, and press the 1″ wide area down to stick it to the designer paper.
Wrap the ribbon around and tie in a knot.
Add the sentiment layered piece with Dimensionals.
And finish with a couple Evening Evergreen In Color Jewels.

I love altering card and project kits to see if I can double or even triple the intended outcome. Our Tag Buffet Project Kit is marketed as being able to produce 30 stunning seasonal gift tags (5 of 6 designs). These tags have 4 layers each and really are quite beautiful while still being easy to put together. But when you factor in that you need to purchase the coordinating Tag Buffet Stamp Set (and even have on hand suggested inks and adhesives) to make the tags as is, it is hard to justify those tags costing $1.60 each. And I’m not counting tax and shipping or the inks and adhesives needed – just the kit and stamp set. But aren’t they pretty?
Last year I took the Joy of Giving Tag Kit (now retired) and turned the supplies for making 30 tags into 50 Christmas cards. So this year, I played around and discovered how to get 76 (AND…even up to 95) Christmas cards from this Tag Buffet kit. And not counting the tax, shipping, inks and adhesives, the cost per card turns out to be around $1.20 each. That’s it! Not bad, huh?

Here are close-up photos of all the 19 cards I made. Multiply every card by 4 to get 76. And then if you take those last sheets of designer paper and the leftover 5th set of tag pieces, you can make 19 more to get 95! Just remember to watch the video so you can see how I paired up the leftover pieces and papers since they will have to be matched up a little differently than these.

Well, I’ve got a couple more pieces that I made using some of the upcoming new product so I could not only give you a taste of some of the fun goodies coming but also update my framed HOME project at the same time.
I die-cut my shape using the smallest label die, stamped the images in VersaMark ink, then heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. After that I colored select areas with Stampin’ Blends Markers and embellished with a few Gold Glitter Enamel Dots.

I die-cut my bell twice using the largest die (from Silver Foil and from Shaded Spruce Cardstock), punched my 2″ Circle from the Black Glitter Paper, and then added Poppy Parade scraps to the back side of the silver bell to cover the berries.
Next I traded out the silver leaves for Shaded Spruce leaves,…
…secured the leaves in place by adding Dimensionals on the back side, attached the bell to the Black Glitter Paper circle, then added the bow.

These pieces are interchangeable with the help of Velcro Dots.
