#APaperPumpkinThing Welcome to our monthly APPT blog hop to showcase Paper Pumpkin kit alternate projects! This time we are highlighting the September 2022Spooky TreatsPaper Pumpkin kit. See what I have to share. Then check out all the other blogs in the hop for additional creative ideas my fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator friends shared. To follow the hop and see these other creative project ideas, simply scroll down and click on the names of the other hop participants. (If you are receiving this blog post by email, click HERE to see the hop.)
Here are the treat boxes the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
I already shared some other alternate projects using the contents of this kit on September 23rd.
How to turn the supplies for the 18 treat containers into 36
Six Halloween cards made from one set of kit supplies
Three non-Halloween treat boxes
Today I am sharing…
A scrapbook two-page spread
Some fun masquerade/Halloween masks
A simple cauldron Halloween treat
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
The pages are my favorite! I’m excited to add photos to these.
Measurements…
2022-24 In Color 12×12 Cardstock
Orchid Oasis
12×12
(2) 4-1/8″ x 5-1/2″
(3) 3-1/2″ x 4-1/4″
Starry Sky
12×12
4-1/8″ x 5-1/2″
(4) 3-1/2″ x 4-1/4″
Basic Black Cardstock
1-1/4″ x 12″ (cut in half with a wavy line)
Scraps for die-cutting 3 houses
White from the kit’s box pieces
Scrap for stamping smaller ghost
Fresh Freesia from the kit’s box pieces
3″ x 3-1/2″
Directions/Tips…
Use a scissors to cut the Basic Black strip into two. Flip one over and add black Glitter Washi Tape along the bottom straight edges to create the ground pieces.
Add black Glitter Washi Tape about 1/8″ in on all four sides of one of the 3-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ Starry Sky pieces.
Add black Glitter Washi Tape across the Fresh Freesia piece to cover the score line. And add this layer to the washi taped Starry Sky piece. Attach the spider and then with Dimensionals the stamped “trick or treat” scalloped circle.
When adhering the ground, the die-cut houses, the photo mats, and title piece, don’t add the adhesive close to the edges. This way you can tuck pieces if you need to. I also added a strip of black Glitter Washi Tape up next to the highest house.
Stamp the stars next to the houses.
After stamping the smaller ghost, color in the eyes and mouth with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. Add the ghosts with Dimensionals. And then just add a “trail” with the sequins.
Here is another way you could position the pages – with the ghosts on the inside. Which way do you prefer?
When I cut my boxes from the kit apart to create my alternate projects that I shared on September 23rd, I had leftovers that when put side by side looked like masks! So I decorated them up and created these.
Directions/Tips…
Use a mirror and figure out how far or close the two pieces should connect. Then adhere with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Widen the eye holes if you wish by just fussy-cutting.
Decorate with stamps and kit pieces. The “wings” on the white mask are the back sides of the ghosts. The bat around the eye on the orange mask was just one that I fussy-cut. But you could use a pencil and draw one. Then color it in with a Sharpie Marker.
What a fun way to fancy your face up without make-up for a masquerade or Halloween party.
This last idea is just a way to use up some of the black tissue paper that comes in the kit so you can make even more treats.
I literally just tied five Dum Dum suckers together with some twine. I then added a square of tissue paper (about 7-8″ square) from the bottom up and added more twine to keep this in place with the sucker sticks showing out the top. It reminded me of a witches cauldron. I suppose that cute Witch Hat Punch and coordinating Bewitching stamp set would pair well with this treat, but instead I just added a stamped sentiment piece from the kit.
I hope I inspired your creativity with what I shared today! If you did not get this kit, I hope you can apply these ideas to products you already own.

Today is the last day to make sure you have an active account for the next Paper Pumpkin kit. Kits start processing after the 10th, so today is the deadline. What’s Paper Pumpkin? Only the best monthly crafting kits out there! Well…in MY mind. I love my PP kits.
Today I’m sharing with you one more project that I made with the contents of this past month’s kit, the August Sweet Sunflowers kit: a 2-page 12×12 scrapbook page layout.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Basic Black Cardstock
(2) 12” x 12″
Sunflower card base from the kit
(2) that are trimmed (remove just under 1/4″ from the front right side so that when one is flipped around the stems of the open cards line up
Sunflower card base from the kit
(4) 4-1/8” x 5-1/2”
(2) 2-3/4″ x 4-1/4″
Scraps for stamping and cutting 3 leaves
Tips…
Measure and then add the washi tape horizontally through each page. This will guide you so you can place your other photo mats and layers. (Mine wasn’t quite in the middle, but I’m okay with that.)
I added Dimensionals under the smaller photo mats to create shadow and depth. I also cut the center out of the title layer and added that (and the title piece) with Dimensionals. The frame I added with glue dots from the kit.
I only inked up the word “happiness” (masking the rest of the stamp) for the title.
For this photo below I flipped around the pages to see what they looked like with the floral card bases closer to each other. I like the layout this way, too. So you have options.
Thanks for stopping by to see what I had to share today. Be sure to also see the other projects I made with this kit by visiting my August 22nd and my September 2nd blog posts.
If you are not a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, I invite you to give it a try. There is no commitment or obligation. So you might as well try one kit. CLICK HERE to learn more. CLICK HERE to sign up by September 10th for this next kit…

This was an eventful week here at our house. Luke (on the left) and Nick (on the right) started a new school year. I took these photos Wednesday, their first day of the 22-23 school year. Luke is now in 10th grade and Nick is in 11th.
We also are finishing up the remodeling of our main level, and when our couch finally arrives (end of October), I’ll share before and after photos. It’s amazing the transformation our kitchen, living room, & dining room have gone through!

Here are the cards the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
I’ve already shared some other alternate projects using the contents of this kit on August 22nd.
Seven alternate cards (including tulle shakers and a pop-out bendy fun fold)
And a fun set of tags in a multi-pocket holder
Today I am sharing…
Cards featuring the tags I had shared on August 22nd
AND… a small square jewelry gift container
If you watched my how-to video for the August 22nd projects, you may have watched me cut the tags and wished I had written those measurements down for you. So I went a step further…I hope this helps to visualize how I cut my pieces for those tags. (I just added this photo to that post too.)
After cutting and assembling those tags for that August 22nd project,…
…I thought it would be fun to turn them into cards. For this first one, I used a Blending Brush to add some Mossy Meadow ink to a quarter sheet of Basic White Cardstock (4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″). Then I embossed it and added it to a Basic White card base (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ folded in half). I tucked and taped the twine behind, add the tag with Dimensionals, and embellished with a couple bees.
I did that same process with the second card, but used Melon Mambo ink instead.
And I added Brushed Brass Butterflies (which are part of this week’s Weekly Deals and 20% off through September 7th) instead of bees.
This fourth card is even simpler to make. I really just added two layers (2-1/8″ x 4-1/8″ Gold Foil and 2″ x 4″ Cherry Cobbler) with Seal and then the tag with Dimensionals.
And this last one features the Kraft Note Cards which are also part of this week’s Weekly Deals and 20% off through September 7th. I simply added a bit of the gold hexagon sheet from the kit and then the tag. That’s it…super simple. Be sure to watch that video from August 22nd so you can see how I initially put these tags together.
After I turned the tags into cards, I thought it would be fun to turn the tag holder into a multi-gift card holder. I mean who wouldn’t want three $10 gift cards to Panera?! Hahaha…yes, it’s one of my favorite places. (For the supplies and directions for this holder refer to the August 22nd post.)
OR…you could even take the tag off of this holder and turn that into a card. Here I added it to a Basic White Note Card and added in a couple sections from a gold hexagon sheet to make it appear as one long strip.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
I also made this small square jewelry gift container.
I got the idea from this one my friend Natalie Travis gave me last spring. Isn’t it pretty?
The base cardstock is 3-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 1″, 1-1/4″, 4-3/4″ and 5″. After scoring I embossed, then I scored again because the initial score lined disappeared. Hahaha! So you may want to emboss first and then score. The inside layers are the same as the outside ones. So you’ll want to cut two 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ Gold and two 3-1/8″ x 3-1/8″ Early Espresso.
I then die-cut the 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ stitched square, stamped it, and colored with a Blender pen to fill in the petals and flower center a bit.
I added the 20″ of Gold Twine (securing in the front with a Dimensional) and the sunflower layer (with Dimensionals).
There is an extra layered piece that holds the jewelry. I die-cut one more Basic White square and layered it onto a 3″ x 3″ Early Espresso square. Then I pierced two holes and sniped from the upper outside corners down to the holes. This layered piece is just loose and slips in and out.
This is the way the jewelry gift container looks from the side when folded up and tied shut.
And again this is how it looks from the front.
I hope I inspired your creativity with what I shared today! If you did not get this kit, I hope you can apply these ideas to products you already own.

What a stunning kit! And I guess we all felt that way, because Stampin’ Up! just informed us that there will be no refills available for the Aug ’22 Sweet Sunflowers. It “sold out” just from those that subscribed. Wow, right?! Well…for those of you who DID get it, here are my first alternate projects that I created with this Paper Pumpkin. And I’m excited to share them with you today!
This month’s kit contained the supplies shown below to make nine stunning cards.
But I never assemble my kits as is, because I like to show subscribers other ways to use those supplies. I like to think outside the box…see what else I can come up with, and create alternate cards, scrapbook pages and more. So today I’m sharing with you…

And a fun set of tags in a multi-pocket holder

And here are close-up photos of the alternate projects I made and shared in my video. (Remember to watch my video first to get measurements, tips and directions.)

Tulle shaker cards
Simple “layer” cards
Pop-out bendy fun fold card
And after originally posting, I fixed this card so the gold layer was behind the bendy strap. I like it better this way.
A fun set of tags in a multi-pocket holder
I added this photo below to my 9/1/22 post and then decided to add it here. Hope this helps those of you who visit back here later.

#APaperPumpkinThing Welcome to our monthly APPT blog hop to showcase Paper Pumpkin kit alternate projects! This time we are highlighting the July 2022Sending Good ThoughtsPaper Pumpkin kit. Here are the cards the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
I’ve already shared some other alternate projects using the contents of this kit on July 23rd.
Four unique alternate card ideas includinga z-fold easel card
a mini shaker card
a monster fun fold card
and a slider card
AND… a 12×12 scrapbook page layout
Today I am sharing…
A “message in a bottle” treat box
AND… a triangle easel card
I’m excited about this first one, because I was able to manipulate one of the card bases into a box just with a few simple folds. Plus from the front it appears that the middle bottle is holding the rolled up message.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Gray card base from the kit
5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side at 1-3/4″, 2-3/4″, 4-1/4″ and 5-1/4″ then scored parallel to the long side 1″ in from each side
Blue envelope paper from the kit
3-1/8″ x 3-3/8″
4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ (this forms the rolled up paper for the message in the bottle)
Crumb Cake Cardstock
1″ x 3-3/8″ torn in half to create two layers of beach/sand.
Directions…
After scoring the gray card base and cutting in along each side score line to create tabs, cut out the following pieces shown in this second image…
the two long 1″ x 3-1/4″ sections
a 1/2″ x 1″ section on the right just below the first tab to make that second tab 1″ x 1″ (like the one above it)
a 3/4″ x 1″ section in the bottom right corner to make that last tab 1″ x 1″ (now all the tabs on the right are 1″ x 1″
a 1/4″ x 1″ section in the bottom left corner
Flip this prepared piece over and add a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive along the 1/4″ section at the bottom. You may want to play it safe, go beyond the edge a bit, and then fold the tape back over onto itself (as shown in the lower right photo above).
Flatten the taped end over as shown below.
Now fold in the tabs at each end to create the box. The images below should help. You really only need Tear & Tape on the last tab if you are following how I folded my tabs in in the photos. In that lower right photo, notice which tab goes in first? This allows you to insert your rolled up message later. OH! And be sure to add any candy or treats before sealing both ends.
Now decorate with the sand layers and bottles.
Stamp the sentiment onto the 3-1/8″ x 3-3/8″ blue paper. Adhere it to the top area of the box.
Then add the birds, twine, pearls, metallic dots, and rolled up message.
My second idea was inspired by a card that Elaine Mitzel created and shared when she was the May 2022 Showcase Stamper…her gray easel card (the last one). It forms a triangle when propped up into the easel. So I’m calling it a triangle easel card. Here is the version of this fun fold I made with the contents of this Paper Pumpkin kit.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Teal card base from the kit
5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4″
Two Gray card bases from the kit
Four pieces that are 3-7/8″ x 5-1/2″
Two pieces that are 3/8″ x 5-1/2″
Striped teal/light blue card layer from the kit
4″ x 4″ scored 1/2″ in on one end as shown in the first photo below
Directions…
Add adhesive to the top part of the 1/2″ section of the 4″ x 4″ striped piece, position it with the teal card base as shown in the second photo below, and fold the teal base over to pick up the sticky 1/2″ section so the start of the card looks like the third photo when done.
Now stamp the starfish image all over the gray strips and one of the larger gray pieces.
Flip one of the gray pieces over, stamp the inside sentiment on it, add it to the inside, add one of the gray plain layers above, and add the skinny strips at the top and bottom of the white sentiment layer as shown below.
Ignore the decorated section shown in this photo below. But add the other two gray layers on the flip side of the card like this.
Fold it shut.
Then decorate the front flap…
Stamp and add Bermuda Bay ink to the starfish.
Stamp the banner, wrap and tie on twine, and add it with Dimensionals while tucking in the coral.
Pull the coral forward to add a bit of glue behind the middle section and flatten it down.
Pull some of the coral ends forward again to tuck and add the starfish with a Dimensional.
Then add the self-adhesive sequins.
So fun, right?!
