Welcome to our monthly APPT blog hop to showcase Paper Pumpkin kit alternate projects! This time we are highlighting the August 2022 Sweet Sunflowers Paper Pumpkin kit. See what I have to share. Then check out all the other blogs in the hop for additional creative ideas my fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator friends shared. Here are the cards the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)

I’ve already shared some other alternate projects using the contents of this kit on August 22nd.
- Seven alternate cards (including tulle shakers and a pop-out bendy fun fold)
- And a fun set of tags in a multi-pocket holder
Today I am sharing…
- Cards featuring the tags I had shared on August 22nd
- AND… a small square jewelry gift container
If you watched my how-to video for the August 22nd projects, you may have watched me cut the tags and wished I had written those measurements down for you. So I went a step further…I hope this helps to visualize how I cut my pieces for those tags. (I just added this photo to that post too.)

After cutting and assembling those tags for that August 22nd project,…

…I thought it would be fun to turn them into cards. For this first one, I used a Blending Brush to add some Mossy Meadow ink to a quarter sheet of Basic White Cardstock (4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″). Then I embossed it and added it to a Basic White card base (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ folded in half). I tucked and taped the twine behind, add the tag with Dimensionals, and embellished with a couple bees.

I did that same process with the second card, but used Melon Mambo ink instead.

And I added Brushed Brass Butterflies (which are part of this week’s Weekly Deals and 20% off through September 7th) instead of bees.

This fourth card is even simpler to make. I really just added two layers (2-1/8″ x 4-1/8″ Gold Foil and 2″ x 4″ Cherry Cobbler) with Seal and then the tag with Dimensionals.

And this last one features the Kraft Note Cards which are also part of this week’s Weekly Deals and 20% off through September 7th. I simply added a bit of the gold hexagon sheet from the kit and then the tag. That’s it…super simple. Be sure to watch that video from August 22nd so you can see how I initially put these tags together.

After I turned the tags into cards, I thought it would be fun to turn the tag holder into a multi-gift card holder. I mean who wouldn’t want three $10 gift cards to Panera?! Hahaha…yes, it’s one of my favorite places. (For the supplies and directions for this holder refer to the August 22nd post.)

OR…you could even take the tag off of this holder and turn that into a card. Here I added it to a Basic White Note Card and added in a couple sections from a gold hexagon sheet to make it appear as one long strip.

Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
I also made this small square jewelry gift container.

I got the idea from this one my friend Natalie Travis gave me last spring. Isn’t it pretty?

The base cardstock is 3-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 1″, 1-1/4″, 4-3/4″ and 5″. After scoring I embossed, then I scored again because the initial score lined disappeared. Hahaha! So you may want to emboss first and then score. The inside layers are the same as the outside ones. So you’ll want to cut two 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ Gold and two 3-1/8″ x 3-1/8″ Early Espresso.
I then die-cut the 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ stitched square, stamped it, and colored with a Blender pen to fill in the petals and flower center a bit.

I added the 20″ of Gold Twine (securing in the front with a Dimensional) and the sunflower layer (with Dimensionals).

There is an extra layered piece that holds the jewelry. I die-cut one more Basic White square and layered it onto a 3″ x 3″ Early Espresso square. Then I pierced two holes and sniped from the upper outside corners down to the holes. This layered piece is just loose and slips in and out.

This is the way the jewelry gift container looks from the side when folded up and tied shut.

And again this is how it looks from the front.

I hope I inspired your creativity with what I shared today! If you did not get this kit, I hope you can apply these ideas to products you already own.
