Did you get this last Paper Pumpkin kit – the November one!? It is one of my favorites, because there are so many punch-outs and pieces…so many options for creativity. This month’s kit included supplies to put together 24 beautiful holiday/winter gift tags. And it included the supplies shown below.
But I like to think outside the box…see what else I can come up with, and create alternate cards, scrapbook pages and more. So I added the extra supplies in the product list at the bottom of this post to the above kit contents and created my alternate projects that I’m sharing with you today:
Two sets of 48 cards
Two treat bag toppers
And a 12×12 scrapbook page layout
Watch my video first to get to get measurements, directions, and tips (you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog). Scroll down to see close-up photos, access the links that I mentioned in my video, and see a list of extra supplies (linked to my online store) that I used to make my creations. Then be sure to visit my blog again soon, because I have many more alternate projects that I’ll be sharing in the coming week or so. ?
Here are the tags that the kit instructs how to make.
And here are close-up photos of the alternate projects I made and shared in my video. (Remember to watch the video first to get measurements, tips and directions.)

Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Whisper White Thick Cardstock
8-1/2” x 5-1/2” scored parallel to the short edge at 2-1/8″ and 4-1/4”
Scrap for die-cutting sentiment label
Crumb Cake Cardstock
4″ x 5-1/2″
Wrapped in Plaid Designer Paper
1-1/2″ x 5-1/2″
1″ x 5-1/2″
1/2″ x 5-1/2″
Shaded Spruce Cardstock
Scrap for die-cutting long leaf
Gold Foil Sheets
Scrap for die-cutting sentiment frame piece
Directions…
Fold Whisper White card base in half and then fold again the opposite way at the 2-1/8″ score line to create a z-fold. The 2-1/8″ wide fold should is where you will attach the Crumb Cake Cardstock. But first you’ll need to do the following…
Put two drops of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint into a Spritzer. And fill the rest with Rubbing Alcohol. Close and shake to mix the paint. Take outside and spritz a few times to get the Spritzer working. Then spritz this onto the surface of the Crumb Cake Cardstock. Set aside to dry.
Attach the 1-1/2″ wide Wrapped in Plaid Designer Paper using SNAIL. Die-cut the green leaves, the gold frame piece, and the white sentiment piece. Cut the leaves into two sections. Stamp the sentiment onto the white piece (be sure it’s the correct direction before stamping).
Add the gold and green die-cut pieces to the Crumb Cake layer using sponged on Multipurpose Glue. Trim off any excess gold or green. Add the stamped white piece to the inside of the gold frame using SNAIL.
Attach the Crumb Cake later to the folded back 2-1/8″ section using SNAIL. Be sure it’s centered while the card is in a closed position.
Open up the card so It’s lying flat. Add the 1″ wide and the 1/2″ wide Wrapped in Plaid Designer Paper strips. And stamp the coordinating inside sentiment so it lines up with the other one.
Color two silver pearls with the Shaded Spruce Dark Blends Marker. Add these to the sides of the gold frame. Add three gold pearls within the leaves.
Here are a few more photos of four of the cards I made.
Any of the red plaids look great with the Crumb Cake background. For the cards below, it is easier to stamp the Free As a Bird sentiment image on the Whisper White scrap first and then die-cut, because the stamps are cling stamps and not the see-through photopolymer ones.
Here is a close-up that sort of shows more of the shimmer from the Champagne Mist/rubbing alcohol spritzing. (It’s so wonderful in person.)
Have fun on the hop! And enjoy seeing all those inspiring ideas made by fellow trip achievers!

MY ONLINE PAPER CRAFTERS CLUB IS LOOKING FOR NEW MEMBERS I’m forming a new Paper Crafters club that will begin mid-December (with orders due mid-month for January, February, March, April, May, and June). And we are looking for more to join us. The commitment is to order at least $25 worth of Stampin’ Up! product in each of those 6 months. And then you’d also be able to get in on monthly product perks that would be sent to you along with your monthly club cards.
Yesterday during my Online Paper Crafting Class on Facebook, I shared how to make a Bay Window Fold Card (at least that’s what I’m calling it). This card was one of the make-n-take cards demonstrators in my group made a month back during our Team Gathering on Zoom.
I came across this fun fold idea while I was pinning on Pinterest. Maria Taylor at Cards Taylor Made shared her version of this card on her July 8, 2019 blog post. She also shared a PDF tutorial for her larger size card. (Thank you, Maria!) Her card was much bigger, though. So I altered this fun fold & reworked the measurements so the card would fit into our medium size (A2 size) envelopes.
I uploaded the recorded version of my Facebook Live video to my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook). And then I was able to share it here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video (you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog), scroll through the close-up photos, check out the products list below the photos, and then let me know if you have any questions.
I hope you enjoyed what I shared in this video. Below are measurements, close-up photos, and a product list for these cards.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Whisper White Thick Cardstock
4-1/4” x 11” scored parallel to the short side at 3/8”, 1-7/8”, 3-5/8”, 5-1/8”, and 5-1/2”
Whisper White Cardstock
Scrap for stamping and punching narrow sentiment
Scrap for stamping and punching larger sentiment
Feels Like Frost Designer Paper
4-1/8” by 6”
cut parallel to short side: 1-5/8” off either end.
Then cut remaining area in same direction to get pieces this wide and in this order: 1-3/8”, 1-5/8” and 1-3/8”
Night of Navy Cardstock
4-1/8” x 3-3/4”
cut parallel to long side: ¼” & ¼”
Sparkle Glimmer Paper
Scrap for die-cutting snowflake
I mention it in the video, but while I was recording these cards featuring the beautiful snowy Feels Like Frost paper, a beautiful snowfall was coming down outside my window. Here are a couple photos I took after I was done recording.

Normally I open a second box and end up using about 1-1/2 kits each month to make my Paper Pumpkin alternate projects. But I only worked with one box this time. So I didn’t have much left over from the October Paper Pumpkin kit when it came down to make six of one more card design: five to gift to my prize-winning subscribers and one to keep as a sample.
I think I get the most creative when I have very few products in front of me. Because I love the card I’m sharing with you today! I had only some partial card bases left (two with ovals cut from the middle) and a few extra strips from other card bases. So with 18 1/2″ wide strips of card base paper, 6 pairs of tree trunks, some cardinals, some snowflake sequins, and the help of some annual catalog products, I came up with this layout.
No sentiments. In fact…no stamp images. WHAT!? It’s true. I love stamping, but it IS possible to make cards without those great inks and stamps. hehehe
Here are the details if you wish to recreate this card.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Whisper White Thick Cardstock
4-1/4” x 11″ scored parallel to the short side at 5-1/2”
Basic Black Cardstock
2-3/4” x 4-3/4” scrap for die-cutting the Stitched Nested Label Die
Kit card base (blue “watercolor wash” sections)
2-1/2″ x 1/2″ strips (three of them that vary in design/color somewhat)
Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon
13″
Directions…
Fold Whisper White card base, crease with the Bone Folder, and wrap and tie ribbon in a knot. Don’t trim ends yet and don’t secure with any adhesive. You may need to maneuver later.
Die-cut Basic Black scrap with the Stitched Nested Label Die that measures a little less than 2-1/2″ wide. After die-cutting, use SNAIL to adhere the strips of blue. Start with the middle one, then adhere the other two just above and just below leaving a small gap. Use a sponge to apply Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the back side and adhere the trees. Make sure the strips are running horizontally and the trees are running vertically so they are perpendicular to each other. Also make sure to have the sparkly side of the trees showing.
Trim the excess sections of the strips and tree parts. Then set this back within the Stitched Nested Label Die. The black should line up with the stitches. You may have to rotate it 180 degrees to get it to fit again. Then die-cut it all once again to get the stitching through all layers.
With the help of the Take Your Pick Tool, attach the cardinal and the snowflake sequins with the glue dots from the kit. Then add this layer to the front of the card using Dimensionals. Shift/adjust the ribbon so the knot is lying just underneath, and trim the ends.
Stamp a sentiment of your choice on the inside if you wish.
If you need more alternate project ideas using this kit, be sure to check out my posts on October 22nd and on October 31st.

Welcome to our monthly “A Paper Pumpkin Thing” blog hop! See what I have to share. Then check out all the other blogs in the hop to see additional creative alternate paper crafting project ideas that we each came up with using the contents of the October 2019 Winter Woods Paper Pumpkin kit. To follow the hop and see other creative project ideas, simply scroll down and click on the names of other hop participants.
Here is a photo of the intended projects from this month’s kit: Ten serene winter holiday-themed greeting cards.
I’ve already shared a few other alternate projects using the contents of this kit on October 22nd.
Turning the supplies for one card into three
A window card
A simple 12×12 scrapbook page layout with a shaker centerpiece
Today I have for you two cards: a photo card and a pocket card.
People LOVE to send cards at Christmas time. And photo cards seem to be the ones I get the most. Here is how you can turn your 10 kit cards into ones that will share your family’s holiday photo.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Whisper White Thick Cardstock
4″ x 11″ scored parallel to the short edge at 2″
Early Espresso Cardstock
3-3/4″ x 5-3/4″ for matting photo
Woodgrain printed paper (from the lining of the kit envelope)
2″ x 4″
Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbon
2″
Since this card would need to be put into a business size envelope (you can pick up a box of these at your local store), the kit envelope can be used for the wonderful print lining the inside. Just trim off the sides of the envelope to open it up. Then cut your 2″ x 4″ piece from that.
Directions…
Fold the 2″ section over to form a mini “card” on the left edge of the Whisper White Cardstock. Create a crisp fold with the Bone Folder.
Adhere woodgrain printed paper on the front of that 2″ wide section.
Open the “card” and stamp the sentiment.
Adhere the Early Espresso photo mat. Add 3-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ horizontal photo.
Color the ribbon with the Pool Party Blends marker. Allow a couple minutes for it to dry.
Die-cut the trees from the kit card using the largest oval from the Layering Ovals Dies.
Fold the ribbon to form a V. Adhere to the back of the oval (coming out the upper left section). Trim ends.
Attach the oval layer as shown with Dimensionals. Make sure the Dimensionals are only connected to the woodgrain paper.
Add Rhinestones to the tree tops.
Gift cards make gift giving a little easier. And as a mom of a teen and soon-to-be-teen, I know too well how awesome these cards can be when the things they want are too expensive for any ONE person to get. Here is how you can turn your 10 kit cards into ones with the perfect size pockets.
Measurements…
Whisper White Thick Cardstock
4-1/4″ x 11″ scored parallel to the short edge at 2-1/4″ and 5-1/2″
Woodgrain printed paper (from the lining of the kit envelope)
2″ x 4″
3″ x 4″
Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbon
14″
Since you’ll be cutting up the kit envelope to make these cards, I included a link to the Medium Whisper White Envelopes in the supply list below. As I mentioned for the photo card… to obtain the printed paper on the inside of the kit envelopes, just trim off the sides of the envelope to open it up. Then cut your 2″ x 4″ piece and 3″ x 4″ piece from that.
Directions…
Fold the 2-1/4″ section over, adhere the 2″ x 4″ woodgrain printed paper, punch a half-circle, then secure this pocket with two strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive placed close to the outer edges.
Fold the Whisper White card base closed and adhere the 3″ x 4″ woodgrain printed paper on the front section.
Create crisp folds with the Bone Folder.
Color the ribbon with the Pool Party Blends marker. Allow a couple minutes for it to dry.
Die-cut the trees from the kit card using the largest oval from the Layering Ovals Dies.
Wrap the ribbon around the top and tie a knot. Trim the ends.
Attach the oval layer as shown with Dimensionals. Make sure the Dimensionals are only positioned towards the top half. You don’t want them to connect with the lower half of the card.
Open the “card” and stamp the sentiment.
Add Rhinestones to the tree tops.
I hope I inspired your creativity with what I shared today!

MY ONLINE PAPER CRAFTERS CLUB IS LOOKING FOR NEW MEMBERS I’m forming a new Paper Crafters club that will begin mid-November (with orders due mid-month for December, January, February, March, April, and May). And we are looking for more to join us. The commitment is to order at least $25 worth of Stampin’ Up! product in each of those 6 months. In one of those months, you would reap the hosting rewards (free merchandise based on the club orders). And then you’d also be able to get in on monthly product perks that would be sent to you along with your monthly club cards.
BETTER THAN FLAT TUTORIALS I’m so proud to be teamed up with five other super talented Stampin’ Up!® demonstrators so we can create Fun Fold cards & 3-D projects to share exclusively with our customers, paper crafting friends & team members each month! (Our October 2019 projects featuring products from the Holiday Catalog are now available!) CLICK HERE for more information.
