I’ve been seeing others use their Cherry Cobbler and Real Red Blends Markers to color on their Magnolia Lane Designer Paper and turn their pretty white and pink spring flowers into poinsettias. I love the results!
It takes some time to color and blend all those flowers. So you may not want to make ALL your Christmas cards this way. ?But the idea is fun. And if you just use a small strip or portion of the designer paper in your card design as I did in the card I’m sharing today, it’s totally doable.
I used my designer paper strip for the inside ledge piece that helps my easel card to stay propped open.
And do you see that beautiful sentiment?! That stamp set and many more are on sale today during Stampin’ Up!’s 24-Hour Flash Sale. The sale ends at 11:50 PM Mountain Time. So click here to shop, then watch the recording of today’s Facebook Live broadcast to see if there are any stamp sets you may want to grab up AND to see me make this card from start to finish.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Whisper White Cardstock
8-1/2” x 5-1/2” scored parallel to the short edge at 2-1/8″ and 4-1/4”
4-1/4″ x 5″ for die-cutting sentiment frame
Mossy Meadow Cardstock
4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″
1-1/2″ x 5-3/8″
Basic Black Cardstock
4″ x 5-1/4″
Cherry Cobbler Cardstock
3″ x 3-1/4″
Magnolia Lane Designer Paper (or Magnolia Lane Designer Bulk Paper)
1-3/8” x 5-1/4″
Directions...
Color one flower at a time.
Start by coloring the entire flower with the Dark Real Red Blends Marker (avoid the yellow center).
Use the Dark Cherry Cobbler Blends Marker to add shadows in the base areas of the petals.
Use the Light Cherry Cobbler Blends Marker to blend the dark areas out towards the light. Use a circular motion to blend the shades of red together.
Die-cut the Frosted Frames die from the Whisper White 4-1/2″ x 5″ Whisper White scrap. Stamp sentiment.
Using SNAIL, layer the white sentiment piece onto the Cherry Cobbler piece, then onto the Basic Black piece, then onto the Mossy Meadow piece.
Fold the Whisper White card base in half. Then fold back at the 2-1/8″ score line creating a z-fold. Attach the layered sentiment section to this being sure to just add SNAIL Adhesive to the top back half only.
Add the colored designer paper strip to the Mossy Meadow strip using SNAIL. Then open up the card and add this to the inside bottom using Dimensionals. (Attaching this with Dimensionals creates a “stopper” for the easel.)
Color a Rhinestone Basic Jewel with the Dark Mossy Meadow Blends Marker and add it to the letter J in Joy.
If you love this pattern in the Magnolia Lane pack of designer paper,
you can instead invest in the bulk pack which includes 10 sheets of this double-sided pattern and 10 sheets of another. It is now available in the online store.
The bulk paper was available to only demonstrators until now. (Yay for everyone who wants to color and create some poinsettia Christmas cards!).

First of all, I need to apologize. The new October Paper Pumpkin kit is called Winter WOODS not Winter Wishes. So ignore my mistakes in the video please. ?I realized it way too late. Hahaha! (I’m going to blame it on the fact that I need reading glasses now.)
As many of you know, I LOVE getting these monthly kits! They are just way too much fun. This month’s kit included supplies to put together ten beautiful holiday/winter cards. And it included the supplies shown below.
But I like to think outside the box…see what else I can come up with, and create alternate cards, scrapbook pages and more. So I added the extra supplies in the product list at the bottom of this post to the above kit contents and created my alternate projects that I’m sharing with you today:
Turning the supplies for one card into three
A window card
A simple 12×12 scrapbook page layout with a shaker centerpiece
And a vertical bendi card
Watch my video first to get to get measurements, directions, and tips (you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog). Scroll down to see close-up photos, access the links that I mentioned in my video, and see a list of extra supplies (linked to my online store) that I used to make my creations. Then be sure to visit my blog again soon, because I have many more alternate projects that I’ll be sharing in the coming week or so. ?
Here are the cards that the kit instructs how to make.
And here are close-up photos of the alternate projects I made and shared in my video. (Remember to watch the video first to get measurements, tips and directions.)

I used products from the Let It Snow Suite for the two pop up cards I’m sharing today. These are slightly bigger than yesterday’s cards – 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ when closed instead of 4″ x 4″. Here is the first one.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.

8-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored in each direction at 4-1/4” and then diagonally one direction corner to corner
4″ x 1-1/2″
2″ x 3″
Let It Snow Designer Paper
4” x 4” of the hat pattern
4” x 4” of the snow on blue pattern
Punched out snowman
Sparkle Glimmer Paper
Triangle half from 3-7/8” x 3-7/8” piece
Scraps for punching snowballs
Coastal Cabana Cardstock
4” x 4”
Be sure to watch the video for instructions for folding the base. Keep in mind that this base is slightly bigger, but the same directions apply for the folding and creating the pocket.
Tips for creating the front and inside panels…
Position 2″ x 3″ Whisper White horizontally. Stamp “Let It Snow” in upper corner with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Tear somewhat diagonally to get your front sentiment piece. Attach to the snowfall patterned designer paper.
Punch a snowman shape and a 1″ circle from the Sparkle Glimmer Paper scraps. Cut snowman bottom oval and top oval off to create snowballs. Discard the middle one. Attach these to the snowfall patterned designer paper as shown (add the smallest one using a Dimensional).
Stick on the branches and coal pieces from the Let It Snow Embellishment Kit. Add the had and scarf with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Allow to dry.
Tear along one long edge of the 4″ x 1-1/2″ Whisper White piece. Stamp the other sentiment. Attach to the bottom of the Coastal Cabana square piece using Dimensionals.
Attach designer paper snowman using SNAIL. Add the scarf and hat using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Then stick on the branches/
The second card is the same but with different colors.

This past Wednesday during my Online Paper Crafting Class on Facebook, I shared how to make a Corner Pop Up Gift Card Holder. This fun fold card starts with a square piece of cardstock folded almost into an origami square base. It’s pretty easy to make, but like many fun folds it’s much easier to explain HOW to make in a video.
I uploaded the recorded version of my Facebook Live video to my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook). And then I was able to share it here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video (you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog), scroll through the close-up photos, check out the products list below the photos, and then let me know if you have any questions.
I hope you enjoyed what I shared in this video. Below are measurements, close-up photos, and a product list for the card I demonstrated (and it’s “twin.” And below that are measurements, close-up photos, and a product list for the Feels Like Frost cards.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
I used the beautiful See A Silhouette Designer Paper and the Wonderful Moments Stamp Set with this card that I demonstrated.
Measurements…
Crumb Cake Cardstock
8” x 8” scored in each direction at 4” and then diagonally one direction corner to corner
Here are some photos of both cards together – the one I demonstrated and it’s “twin” (the sample card I had made beforehand).
Susan’s card was the one that we shared at our Demos Galore last month and it was created with the stunning Feels Like Frost Designer Paper and the Free Skate Stamp Set. Her card is the one on the left. I used the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set to make my version of it (on the right).
Measurements…
Whisper White Cardstock
8” x 8” scored in each direction at 4” and then diagonally one direction corner to corner
Thanks for visiting! And thank you Susan Campfield for sharing this fun fold idea with me!

On August 24th my upline Susan Campfield held a demonstrator team event. One of the make-n-take projects was a Shutter Fold Card. In fact it was that event with Carol Rosengren’s demonstration of another variation of the card that inspired the Shutter Fold cards I shared with you on August 31st. You’ll want to click here to view my how-to video for this type of card.
This is the Shutter Fold card Susan designed for us to recreate.
I find it so magical that just opening the card up gives such a fantastic presentation.
The shutter portion opening up in the middle is addicting. You’ll find that you just want to open and shut your card several times in a row.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Add the 3″ x 5-1/2″ Real Red Cardstock using Dimensionals on the top and bottom corners. Add the banner image.

This Wednesday during my Online Paper Crafting Class on Facebook, I shared an adaptation/simplified version of this fun-fold card to give you a taste of what we offer in our monthly tutorial bundles. I’m calling this simplified card a Corner Twist Card. The key for this simplified card is to have an image on the front that will look good if turned 45 degrees. Here is the card I demonstrated.
I used the Let it Snow Suite of products and actually shared three versions of this card in my Facebook Live Online Paper Crafting class. I then uploaded the recorded version of my Facebook Live video to my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook). Be sure to watch the video (you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog), scroll through the close-up photos, check out the products list below the photos, and then let me know if you have any questions.
I hope you enjoyed what I shared in this video. Below are measurements, close-up photos, and a products list for the snowman cards. (Tomorrow I’ll be sharing photos, measurements and a product list for Purple Posy card featuring images from the New Wonders Stamp Set.)

World Card Making Day is this today, October 5th. This is a special day of the year to celebrate and create. Stampin’ Up! would love for our paper crafters to be a part of this special celebration by then making next week (October 7-12) World Card Sending Week. They have sent out a challenge to our demonstrators to send 50,000 cards that week—that’s about one per demonstrator, but of course our customers’ cards count too! So report back to me to let me know when you’ve mailed out a hand-crafted card during that week. I’ll keep a tally, and then I’ll report our amount sent to Stampin’ Up! (Personally I think we can surpass this goal.)
