I wanted to make birthday cards with the contents of the Let’s Party kit, one of the selections in the Kits Collection by Stampin’ Up!® Normally this kit makes “pillow” box treat containers as you can see when you click on this link to take you to the product in the online store.
So I played around with these kit pieces and came up with this card layout below.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements
Basic White Thick Cardstock
4-1/4” x <5-1/2″ (5-7/16″) scored parallel to short side at 5-1/2”
Box base from the kit
Trim off the rounded ends to give you a piece that is 4-1/4” tall (save the ends)
Directions
After slicing off the rounded ends of the kit box base, trim the scraps in half. Keep the two rounded pieces and discard the two notched pieces.
Fold only on the score mark towards the outer edge of the box base layer. Connect this folded end with the Basic White Cardstock wrapping the end around. When it’s all lined up, add adhesive and adhere.
Adhere one of the rounded ends in the center of the outside edge of the exposed area of the Basic White Cardstock. Add one of the scalloped circles from the kit so it extends out and off the front, so it’s centered/lined up with the rounded end on the outer edge, and with the second rounded edge tucked underneath but seen when the card is open.
(You may need to trim the ends before tucking this piece or it will look like this.)
Stamp the sentiments on the rectangles. Attach the animal and the front sentiment with Dimensionals. Add the inside sentiment.
Add embellishments from the kit and some of the yellow Adhesive-Backed Milky Dots.
Thanks for stopping by to see what I had to share today. If you need to purchase supplies, make sure you include envelopes!

#APaperPumpkinThing Welcome to our monthly APPT blog hop to showcase Paper Pumpkin kit alternate projects! This time we are highlighting the “Sunshine & Smiles” February 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit. Here are the cards the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
I’ve already shared some other alternate projects using the contents of this kit on February 22nd.
A tri-fold window card (a fun-fold card)
And how I turned the three different kit cards into eight (more than doubling the cards you can make from the kit contents)
Today I am sharing…
An adorable mini album (great for a gift!)
AND… a simple set of refrigerator magnets
Yes! It’s a simple idea. By adding magnets to the back sides, you can make fun scenes on your refrigerator. And what a great activity for young kids (or bored teenagers hanging out in the kitchen).
I used business card magnets with Stampin’ Up!’s Foam Adhesive Sheets. I peeled the backing off one of the magnets, stuck it to a sticky side of a similar size piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet, and then trimmed it into pieces that fit each of the kit pieces.
By using the Foam Adhesive Sheets, the added height makes it easier to grab the character and move it.
Here is the next project idea. I received a mini album as a gift from my friend and fellow demonstrator, Luanne Peterson. So I used that layout from hers as inspiration for this one I’m sharing today. The layout is similar with slightly different measurements to maximize the use of the 12×12 cardstock base.
Measurements…
Balmy Blue Cardstock
12″ x 12″ scored in one direction at 5″ and 10″ and then scored in the other direction at 3-3/4″, 3-15/16″, 7-3/4″ and 8-1/8″
Larger layers (from the kit cards and the Rain or Shine Designer Paper)
3-5/8″ x 4-7/8″
Smaller white layers (from the envelopes)
1-7/8″ x 3-5/8″
Basic Black Cardstock
optional…these 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ pieces are just in there to represent photos in the windows
Piece wrapped around the outside when closed (from an envelope)
cut as directed below
Balmy Blue and White Variegated Ribbon
25″
Most of the products come from the kit, but there are a few extras.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
After scoring the Balmy Blue 12″ x 12″ Cardstock, remove the skinny strip sections. Below is a visual of the scores and cut out sections.
Add the layers. The strips along the bottom of the white sections are just leftovers that I had after cutting the card bases down to size. Photos can be added to the top of the solid layers and…
…underneath the window layers. I used the glue dots in the kit just at the very top of the window layers.
To cut the window layers so the windows are centered, trim the card base at 3-15/16″ as shown below. Then flip and trim at 3-5/8″. Then trim off a little over a quarter inch (5/16″) from each of the other two ends.
To cut the wrapped outside piece (from one of the envelopes), trim 7/16″ (just under 1/2″) from each of the two sides. Then without opening the envelope and with the bottom closed edge lined up at 4-1/8″ mark on your trimmer, cut the excess off as shown below.
Open it up and now line up the straight edge at the 3-3/4″ mark and score to give you a second score line. Add this after all the inside layers are completed and after you’ve stamped the sun image. So when ready, fold up the completed album, tie on the ribbon, wrap and glue on this piece, untie the ribbon so that it’s flat under the layer when drying, add the final embellishment pieces, and re-tie the ribbon when dry.
Here is a walk through now of the album closed and what it looks like as it opens up.
(By the way, I used one of each of the different card bases, an extra yellow card base, and two pieces of designer paper for the 10 larger layers.)
Here is a look at the inside fully open.
And here is a look at it when it’s flipped over.
Thanks for seeing what I had to share. I hope these ideas inspired your creativity!

I had so much fun creating the look of chips & guacamole when I made my Hexagon Pop-Up card that I shared on February 17th that I had to put together another. This time I made it into a festive Easel Card. I kept the look of the guacamole & tortilla chips. But this time I also added in a couple red peppers to the inside. And everything is done with Stampin’ Up!® products.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating this card with the Taco Fiesta Stamp Set, Basic Borders Dies, Enjoy the Journey Designer Paper, Painted Texture Embossing Folder, Whale Builder Punch, Bough Punch, and other coordinating product. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.

This card featuring the Irresistible Blooms Stamp Set and Dies (debuting March 1st) is for those who are fans of the color purple. I put it together from the sample pieces that were left over when I introduced this new product on Facebook on February 10th (at the 1:05:15 mark).
The background Highland Heather Cardstock is embossed with another new Online Exclusive product debuting March 1st: one of the Basic 3D Embossing Folders. These items and more will be available online only. You won’t find these products in any catalog. But feel free to download this flyer which gives you a peek at some of the items coming in just 3 days.
Other products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements
Basic White Cardstock
4-1/4” x 11″ scored parallel to short side at 4″ and 9-1/2” (I folded the bottom portion upward and glued it down. This way all the card layers are level when closed. But you could instead just start with a 4-1/4″ x 9-1/2″ piece and just score it once at 4″.)
Scraps for stamping and die-cutting flowers and leaves
Highland Heather Cardstock
4” x 5-1/2”
Gorgeous Grape Cardstock
Scrap for die-cutting border
Directions
After stamping and die-cutting the two large flowers, two smaller flowers, two large groupings of leaves, three smaller groupings of leaves, and two of the tiny sets of leaves, use the Bone Folder and give everything a bit of dimension by curling the ends a bit.
After embossing the Highland Heather cardstock, cut it into two pieces: 4″ x 4″ and 1-1/2″ x 4″.
Fold the card base and attach the Highland Heather cardstock layers. Then add the Gorgeous Grape die-cut border. (I suggest sponging on Multipurpose Liquid Glue to make the whole back surface sticky.)
Now add your flowers. Add the three front ones first and only adhere the very center of the flowers with the Multipurpose Liquid Glue. This way the petals still have dimension AND you can tuck your leaves.
Put Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the base parts of the leaves, tuck them in place, and adhere.
Add the 4th flower to the inside. Then tuck and adhere the leaves making sure the leaves in the lower part of the flower hang down enough to be visible with the front flowers when the card is closed.
Tuck and adhere the tiny sets of leaves.
Apply Wink of Stella to the center of the front three flowers.
Then add a few Iridescent Pearls.
Add a few Gorgeous Grape Glossy Dots as the final embellishment. I have two in the upper right and four in the lower left.
I hope you enjoyed what I had to share today. And remember that the Online Exclusive Products will be available in just a few days…

I received my February 2023 Sunshine & Smiles Paper Pumpkin monthly subscription kit yesterday afternoon, and I’m excited to share with you today my first set of alternate projects that I just put together!
This fun kit contained the supplies shown below to make nine cheerful cards (3 of 3 designs).
But I never assemble my kits as is, because I like to share other ways to use those supplies. I like to think outside the box…see what else I can come up with, and create alternate cards, scrapbook pages and more. So today I’m sharing with you…
A tri-fold window card (a fun-fold card)
And how I turned the three different kit cards into eight (more than doubling the cards you can make from the kit contents)
Because my craft studio has been overtaken by tools and supplies for our bathroom remodel project, I haven’t been able to spend time in there and haven’t had a lot of creative time. So I decided to combine two things together: my first set of Paper Pumpkin alternates AND my Wednesday Live Online Paper Crafting Class. What a whirlwind! But oh so fun!!! Normally my Paper Pumpkin alternate videos are pre-recorded so I can edit out mistakes and speed up slow parts. So I had to be pretty organized bringing all of this into a Live recording.
Watch my video first by clicking here to get to get measurements, directions, and tips (or you can just click on this image below if you are already in my blog post). Scroll down to see close-up photos, access the links that I mentioned in my video, and see a list of extra supplies (linked to my online store) that I used to make my creations. Then be sure to visit my blog again soon, because I have many more alternate projects that I’ll be sharing on March 3rd.
Here are the cards the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)

My friend and fellow team member, Vy Tran from Crafting Daily Dose creates some impressive cards. If you’ve never seen her projects, click here for her Instagram posts or here for her YouTube videos. Her latest design got me so excited that I had to make a version of it right away. It’s a pop-up card that goes from flat to fantastic! And the base is a hexagon shape when in the full pop-up position.
Products I used… See below for a few of the products I used. They are linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Fun, right?!
This is the top view of the “nacho” card.
And it folds flat and fits inside our A2/medium size envelopes.
Here are a couple close-ups of my “holy guacamole” card. On this one I remembered to emboss the Parakeet Party cardstock (the guacamole) before assembling. This one is actually made a little bit differently than the “nacho” one, because I put it together before I reached out to Vy. I love trying to figure out things like this on my own. I love the challenge!
Oh! And can you tell what the red and green bits are?
Tomatoes and cilantro! I gave a wet, shiny look to my tomatoes with a bit of Fine Tip Glue.
I hope you enjoyed these ideas. To get Vy’s fabulous measurements & instructions for this type of card, click here for the details on her Queen Bee Workshop.
