What a beautiful kit! Did you get your hands on the July 2024 Painted Petals Paper Pumpkin kit!? Mine arrived on Saturday. So when I got home late on Sunday from my mini 4-day vacation in Walnut Grove MN, I started creating right away in my head. And then on Monday and Tuesday, I put together my first set of alternate projects that I’m excited to share with you today.
For those of you not familiar with these kits, they get delivered straight to your mailbox in the months of your choice. Inside are all the supplies you need AND the directions for assembling the kit cards/projects designed. Here are the intended cards designed for this July 2024 kit. (Click here for Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
What are alternate projects? Well, I take the supplies from the kits and create other things…different cards and projects. This way I can show others how to stretch the kits in new ways. A kit that you may have not been a fan of might all of a sudden be more attractive (or a favorite) because of a new way of using the supplies!
Even if you didn’t get this kit, I hope the ideas I share can be applied to other products you own, and I hope what I share inspires your creativity!

Do you ever do that…order just the stamp set (or just the dies) thinking you had ordered them both in the bundle? That’s what I did with the new Online Exclusive, Sophisticated Sled. But now I have the both in my hands. And I’ve put together some fun fold cards featuring the skates and sled images from this bundle. I’m excited to share!
Because it was so similar to the these outside-in fun fold cards that I shared back in January, I extended the name to “Diamond Outside-In” cards. But this fun fold card has also been called the Diamond Fold Card or the Diamond Flip Fold Card.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating these cards with the newly released Sophisticated Sled Stamp Set & Dies (products from the Online Exclusives), Thoughtful Journey Patterned Paper, Winter Meadow Patterned Paper, coordinating cardstocks and inks, and other Stampin’ Up!® products. When designing my project for the blog hop, I was playing around with the Friends for Life Dies (the die set in this suite) and discovered that one of the heart dies makes a great “window.” So I used that to make a fun “peek-a-boo background” for my card. After making this first card, I made a second with the scraps. Why not, right?!

One of the latest kit releases from Stampin’ Up!’s Kits Collection is the Expressions of Kindness Kit. And I have to tell you, it is one of THE most beautiful kits I’ve seen! The cards and envelopes have watercolor floral imagery in beautiful blues, greens, golds, and purples.
If following the kit directions, this kit creates four each of two different cards as you can see from the photo above. For my alternates (because I like to make something other than what the kit was intended to make) I “multiplied the kit.”
I took the supplies for the two different kit cards and envelopes, cut them into multiple pieces, added the pieces to Blackberry Bliss card bases, and produced eight cards! By doing this with the other card supplies, one could make 32 cards from the eight kit cards quadrupling the cards you can get from this Kits Collection kit!
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating these cards. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. I’m excited to share with you my first set of alternate projects I’ve created with the June 2024 Life Is Sweet Paper Pumpkin kit!
For those of you not familiar with these kits, they get delivered straight to your mailbox in the months of your choice. Inside are all the supplies you need AND the directions for assembling the kit cards/projects designed. Here are the intended cards designed for this June 2024 Life Is Sweet Paper Pumpkin kit. (Click here for Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
What are alternate projects? Well, I take the supplies from the kits and create other things…different cards and projects. This way I can show others how to stretch the kits in new ways. A kit that you may have not been a fan of might all of a sudden be more attractive (or a favorite) because of a new way of using the supplies!
And I’m sharing my first alternates with you today. Even if you didn’t get this kit, I hope the ideas I share can be applied to other products you own, and I hope what I share inspires your creativity!
