WORLD CARD SENDING WEEK
Did you take part in World Card Making Day this past weekend? My family was out of town for a wedding. But I made several cards last week and prepared a few customer thank you when I got home on Sunday night.
Stampin’ Up! would now like to assign this week (October 7-12) World Card Sending Week. They have sent out a challenge to our demonstrators to send 50,000 cards during this time—that’s about one per demonstrator, but of course our customers’ cards count too! So report back to me (by the end of the week) to let me know how many cards you’ve mailed this week. I’ll keep a tally, and then I’ll report our amount to Stampin’ Up! (Personally I think we can surpass this goal. I’ve send 30 so far!)

Tips: To attach the vellum to the card, run SNAIL Adhesive along the edge being covered up by the photo image layer. As you can see this adhesive shows through. So keep that in mind when adding the vellum. The twine helps to hold the vellum in place, too.
I love how the embossed areas on the vellum turn white! It’s so pretty.
Feel free to cut your photopolymer stamps to give you more flexibility. I cut the row of four flowers down to two images: a row of three flowers and a single one. I love stamping that small one with the other larger flower image from this stamp set.
I didn’t have much twine left in my kit. So I used Whisper White Baker’s Twine instead. I also ran low on the embellishments in the kit. So I added rhinestones for the bling on these cards.

And some got the supplies to make this Merry Merlot one below. The glimmer papers are both from the Joyous Noel pack of 6×6 glimmer paper in the 2018 Holiday Catalog.
Directions:
Punch the glimmer paper with the 2″ Circle punch.
Punch a Gold Foil sheet scrap with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch once. Trim out a small area from the Gold Foil punched piece so it looks like the cap shown below.
Loop a small 3″ piece of Gold Cord and attach to the back of the ornament with Glue Dots. Attach the ornament cap with a Glue Dot.
Stamp sentiment onto 3″ x 3/8″ strip of Whisper White cardstock. Trim the ends as shown. Curl a bit with a Bone Folder. And attach to the front of the ornament with Dimensionals and Glue Dots.
And here is another simple one using similar colors but instead… the Butterfly Thinlits Dies from the upcoming 2019 Occasions Catalog that debuts January 3, 2018.

Do any of you remember “Card Candy?” It was a big thing with card makers years ago. Well, that’s what I created with the new Beauty Abounds stamp set and the coordinating Butterfly Thinlits dies in my most recent Facebook Live broadcast that aired this past Wednesday. I also shared how to use the Stamparatus tool to create reverse images – butterflies facing in two different directions. AND I showed off this card candy piece as the “O” in HOME on a beautiful home décor project.

My friends, Nancy Forsberg & Vicki Spicer came over one evening. (Kayla also came and hung out with us Ü.) We brainstormed and collaborated so we could each put one set together. And now I have mine on display in my home. My plan is to update it each month by changing the “O” to a design that coordinates with that time of year.
We saw the idea of this great project after fellow demonstrator, Sandy Carlson shared it at our Creative Connections event this fall. She got the idea from Cindee Wilkinson who didn’t want to take credit for the original idea either. I guess these have been out there for awhile. But we were thrilled to finally be introduced to the idea!
The good news is you can also make one for yourself if you wish! There are 3 options…
But if you don’t have access to all those supplies, consumables and tools AND you live locally (near Blaine, Minnesota), you can attend Nancy and Kayla’s upcoming class on December 8 at 11 AM and put it all together in a class setting where all the supplies are prepped for you and the products are all there to use. Keep in mind that Nancy & Kayla are in my Stampers With ART group, so don’t feel like you aren’t being loyal to me if you attend. I benefit when they benefit. And since I took a break from doing local in-person events, I’d love to promote events put on by those in my team. (Plus they are fabulous individuals! You will love them!)
The third option for those who do not live locally, but still want the supplies & the tutorial is to sign up by December 3rd for my “to-go” class. You would have to have some base products which you will see listed when you click on that link. We just finished celebrating Christmas with my husband’s side of the family, and we got to host the 2-day event here at our house.
Our “Build Your Own Pizza” meal on Saturday evening was a hit! We bought a bunch of cheese pizzas from Papa Murphy’s (a local take-n-bake pizza place). I made cardstock dividers so each person could mark off their portion of the pizza. Then each person added their own toppings. The only downfall was that we could only bake a couple pizzas at a time. So we had to eat in shifts. But it was yummy. And now my boys know love pineapple as a new pizza topping.
It was fun having 16 people in our home – 3 stayed in a hotel, but the other 13 slept here…air mattresses in my Stampin’ Studio, kiddos in sleeping bags on the floor in the bedrooms…we made it work. And OH JOY, it was fun!
December 25th is already upon us (just a week away). So the card I’m sharing today is one that could be shared as a Christmas card, but it could also be shared during the winter season for any special celebration like the birth of a baby, a congrats card, a birthday, etc. The only image on it is a snowflake.
I was actually thinking “new baby” when I created it.

Pear Pizzazz Cardstock: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ folded in half for card base and scrap for die-cutting 3-5/16″ tall oval
Basic Black Cardstock: 5-1/4″ x 4″
Whisper White Cardstock: 5-1/4″ x 4″ for the inside of the card and scrap for die-cutting 3-1/16″ tall oval
Black Sequin Trim: 2 pieces about 8″ each
Tips/Directions:
Emboss the Basic Black cardstock a couple times with the Winter Wonder embossing folder. Attach this to front of the card base.
Stamp “Oh Joy” and die-cut. Die-cut the Pear Pizzazz oval and adhere the white oval to the green.
Put Fast Fuse on the back of the upper right and lower left areas of the oval and add loops of the Black Sequin Trim.
Secure the sequin trim by adding Dimensionals to the back of the oval, and attach to the front of the card.
Attach the 5-1/4″ x 4″ Whisper White piece to the inside of the card.
Then put a few green Glitter Enamel Dots on the front to finish off this card.
A couple of these products are retiring. That means that they will be gone soon and will no longer be available. The 2018 Holiday Catalog is coming to an end. So if you want to get your hands on the embossing folder or the stamp set I used to make this card, you’ll want to do that by January 2nd (or sooner since they could sell out before then).
