I love challenging myself to create beyond intended images. And today I took the balloon tassel die-cut and turned it into a candle flame to make a unique birthday candle card.
A few hours ago I shared live on YouTube and on Facebook step-by-step directions for how make this fun and unique birthday candle card. Then I shared how to make another version of this card using the Layering Leaves Stamp Set, a bit of Masterfully Made Designer Paper, the Painted Texture Embossing Folder, and other coordinating Stampin’ Up!® product. US BACK-TO-SCHOOL SALES TAX HOLIDAY Thirteen states and Puerto Rico are offering a sales tax holiday for school supplies during the months of July, August, or September. Products that are eligible according to the statute include “items normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes.” To see the names of participating states, products exempted from tax, and sales tax holiday dates 2023 Tax Holiday spreadsheet here. If you want to get in on the tax holiday, you must place your order with Stampin’ Up! during the tax holiday period in order to receive these items tax-free (which is midnight on the first day to midnight on the last day of the tax holiday). Also, keep in mind that this is a state sales tax holiday; the state statute may not apply to county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.
A big thank you to all of you who purchased my Layering Leaves Class To Go. To get supplies out to the 300 participants for the May class and 200 for the July class, I needed a team. I couldn’t do it alone. I’m so thankful to all the volunteers who physically pitched in their time & talents to either one or both sessions: Beth Ferguson, Luanne Peterson, Glenn Kuphal, Cayla Callies, Nancy Forsberg, Kayla Cory, Vicki Spicer, JoAnn Pollock, Tricia Josephs, Lori Callies, Theresa Gloe, and Cheryl Lee. I didn’t keep track for the first session, but the extra volunteer time for the class of 200 was over 57 hours!
This post is full of photos of these sweet friends AND snapshots of the steps along the way. It was such an amazing process stamping, punching and assembling all those gifts, cutting and packaging all the project packets, putting together all the kits, and labeling & stuffing all the mailers.
Here I am with Beth, Luanne, Glenn (owner of The Country Cardinal and the creator of the beautiful coasters) and Cayla prepping the June class. Making the toppers for the coasters (the gifts) took the most time. Not only did people devote time in my studio, but they brought dies and tools to make the process go faster. AND some even brought things home to work on.
To be the most efficient, we each had different jobs and mass produced one step at a time.

For both sessions Cayla and I were a team when it came to signing the sets. She made it easy for me by taking the inserts out of each stamp set and then reassembling each of them afterwards.

The class included six different projects. Here are photos of the separating and packaging of four of those project packets. We used the tables in my studio. But…
…the island in the kitchen turned out to be the easiest place for this task.
The wreath card had a lot of parts and pieces. Vicki and JoAnn are with me above and sorted for one session. Theresa, LuAnn and Cayla are in this photo below and sorted this card for the other session.

Once the individual project packets were done…
…we put all six together into one large cello bag. Here are Nancy, Vicki and Cayla being pretty efficient with this task for the second session.
Then we labeled the mailers. Cheryl and Lori did all the labeling for the first session.
The final task was to put the items into the mailers and put the mailers out for Scott, my awesome postal carrier to pick up. Look at all those coaster gifts, ribbon rolls, and rhinestone packs.
Even putting the mailers together required an assembly line of people. Lori and Luanne (above) added the embellishments. Cayla checked to make sure each envelope had all the items and then sealed them shut.
I had shared this photo before in my May 8th post. But I had to show it again. Wow, right?!

I love pottery. And I love how this suite’s imagery, paper patterns, and dies allow for creating so many different pots and vases. I couldn’t stop creating and wanted to share a variety of them all in one card, So I put them on display in this Joy Fold Card.
The front right flap has a front and an inside.

These top two pots are cut from the designer papers & added with Dimensionals. I tucked in Gray Granite, Old Olive and Distressed Gold foliage with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Then I added a few rhinestones I had colored with the Moody Mauve Blends Markers and the sentiment strip across the top with Seal adhesive under the left side and a Dimensional under the right.
The inside pots and foliage are all added flat with Seal or Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
The one above AND the one below are both cut from Basic Black & Old Olive Cardstocks and Distressed Gold Paper.
These last two pots are cut from the designer papers. I then stamped the feathery foliage image with Moody Mauve ink on Basic White Cardstock, cut it with the coordinating framing die, and added that into one of the pots with a Gray Granite die-cut foliage.

My apologies for not sharing a creative project in the recent days. Here is my excuse…
I’ve been cutting, compiling, and packaging…getting my Layering Leaves Class To Go out in the mail before we leave for Europe. This is my second set of supplies that arrived on May 4th and it included the stamp sets, rhinestones, ribbons, and newer cardstocks/papers needed for the class. (The other half of the supplies – rhinestones, ribbons, and most of the cardstocks and papers – came the week before…April 26th.) Oh! And the top box is my box of “pillow gifts” from Stampin’ Up! for the Norway Cruise part of our trip. 😬 😆 🥳
The Layering Leaves stamp sets alone filled over 5 boxes!
My helpers and I took a vote. So I signed each stamp set insert with a blue Sharpie Marker (the color of my butterflies in my logo) rather than green (my favorite color and the color of leaves). The blue just looked better.
On that note, a HUMONGOUS thank you to those that helped in some way: Theresa Gloe, Vicki Spicer, Luanne Peterson, Tricia Josephs, JoAnn Pollock, Cheryl Lee, Lori Callies, Cayla Callies, Nancy Forsberg, Kayla Cory, Mackenzie Grimme, Erica Cerwin, my husband Tim, and others that may have given me support in some way. Registration is now open for my Layering Leaves Class To Go. Yay!!
The new 2023-24 Annual Catalog debuts May 2nd. And in it (on page 96) you will see my Million Dollar Achiever stamp set called Layering Leaves. It is an all-occasion stamp set that coordinates with one of our “staple” punches, the Bough Punch.
Leaves are awesome accents for a wide variety of cards and other paper crafting projects. Layering Leaves is also a “2-Step” photopolymer set. So creating filled in leaves is quick and easy.
A beginning paper crafter will benefit from a set that has versatility. This set is quite versatile and coordinates with a punch instead of a set of dies – a more affordable option. A casual crafter will love the layering affects that can be achieved simply and quickly. And an avid crafter will love all the creative spins that can happen with the imagery. #4 – Stampers With ART Layering Leaves Class To Go = $24*
*Once I receive your registration request form, I will send you an invoice within 24 hours. Please allow up to 24 hours to see your invoice come through then pay ASAP to secure your spot. Registration Request forms will close on April 30th. Payments are due by May 1st at the latest. On May 2nd I will order all Stampin’ Up! supplies for paid participants.
Once I receive the products, I will cut, prepare, and package everything. I’m am planning to send out all class packets by May 11th with an estimated arrival in mailboxes around the 15th. The class to go kit will be available to complete at a time that works for you.
Sometimes products become unavailable. If this happens when it comes time for me to order supplies, shipping delays or substitutions may occur.
Video and PDF instruction will be made available on May 2nd and will be emailed to registered and paid participants at that time. So participants will have video and PDF instructions almost 2 weeks earlier than products. Be sure to hang onto this email (use your preferred email address when you register).
