Yesterday I shared Part 1 of my alternate October Paper Pumpkin kit ideas. Today I am sharing part 2!
A 12×12 scrapbook page layout
A beautifully decorated pumpkin
A variety of simple note cards
And a few fun-fold diorama cards
Watch this video to get tips, measurements and directions. Then scroll down to see close-up photos of these projects and a list of extra supplies I used to make them.
Here are close-up photos of the alternate projects that I created from this kit that I shared in this video.
12X12 AUTUMN SCRAPBOOK PAGE LAYOUT
SEQUIN COVERED PUMPKIN
A VARIETY OF SIMPLE NOTE CARDS
FUN-FOLD DIORAMA CARDS
I did a LOT of gluing on sequins for these projects. But that toothpick with the tacky Multipurpose Liquid Glue at the end was my friend. If you enjoyed this diorama fun-fold card, then you should check out the one I shared a few days back. Click here to see that one.
Product List… things you might need/want in addition to the October 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit to make any or all of the above projects.
toothpick
small pumpkin (a faux pumpkin will last longer than a real one, but I couldn't pass up the one I found)
As some of you may know, with every kit I like to think "outside the box" and come up with lots of alternate ideas so I can share with you other options for what YOU can create with your kit contents. Are you one of my personal Paper Pumpkin subscribers? If so, then several MORE exclusive ideas will be emailed to you on November 2nd! Did you see the sneak peek that I shared yesterday? Click here, then scroll to the last card in the post.
Have you wanted to give Paper Pumpkin kits a try, but you've been hesitant about starting a subscription because you are worried that you may not like the intended kit projects? After seeing what I shared today and after realizing all the resources you will have at your fingertips, I hope you will reconsider. The projects in the kit are fabulous. With Valentine's Day around the corner, my Stamp-A-Stack event needed to have some Valentine cards available. But I know some do not send for this time of year so I didn't want the cards to be too specific either. The Going Global stamp set (which also is great for making masculine cards) was the perfect stamp set to use for my event.
These are the 4th set of 5 cards we've been making during this event – which took place Wednesday and Thursday evenings and will also take place tomorrow morning. (To see the other sets of cards I've share so far, click here.)
I love how this card could be given on a dad's birthday, father's day or as a thank you.
Dimensionals and Rhinestones are favorites of mine! Just raising or accenting key elements in a card or project can do so much. And these products are perfect for accenting.
Measurements:
Crumb Cake or Blushing Bride cardstock: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" folded in half for the base of the card
Whisper White cardstock: 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" for the inside of the card and 2-1/2" x 3" scrap
Early Espresso cardstock: 4-1/8" x 3-1/8"
Perfectly Artistic Designer Series paper (in coordinating color for base cardstock): 4" x 3"
Each month I "gift" a collection of project sheets to my customers who order from me. I just sent out 10 project sheets to those that ordered from me in September. Thankfully I team up with some other demonstrators to create these sheets, so I don't have to come up with all the fabulous ideas on my own!
Here is the idea I contributed in that collection of 10 that my September customers received. This card was also one of five that my Stamp-A-Stack attendees are making this week. (Sorry…I can't share the others on my blog – just the one I made.)
Supplies:
Stamps: w-139752 or c-140365 Wonderland, w-134249 or c-134252 Tag Talk
Paper :
102584 Garden Green (5-1/4” x 4” and 3-1/4” x 2-1/4”)
121024 Basic Black (8-3/4”” x 4-1/4” scored at 5-1/2” and 2-1/4” x 4-1/4” scrap)
120953 Crumb Cake (2” x 2” scrap)
139594 Winter Wonderland Vellum – black trees print (3” x 2”)
Punch out an oval and a circle from the Basic Black scrap. Stamp the sentiment onto the Crumb Cake scrap and punch it out. Layer this onto the black circle using a Dimensional then onto the black oval using SNAIL adhesive.
Fold the large Basic Black card base to form a card with an open front. Stamp the trees image in Basic Black ink on the right side of the larger Garden Green piece and attach to the inside of the card.
Attach the smaller Garden Green piece to the front of the card horizonally about a half inch from the top. The right and left edges should meet up with the edges of the front of the card. Add the vellum using a small amount of SNAIL on the right side where the sentiment piece will cover it up and a glue dot on the left side where the knot of the ribbon will cover it up. Now attach the sentiment piece being careful to only put SNAIL adhesive where it will attach to the front panel of the card.
Cut about 8” of Burlap Ribbon. Now cut down the center of this piece. and pull out four 8” strands. Hold the strands together, fold them over once, and tie them in a knot. Attach them to the front of the card on the left edge using a glue dot under the knot.
Try this card using a color other than Garden Green. Just by changing that one color, you can create many different looking cards.
Here are a few other photos. My class attendees made both the Cajun Craze and the Garden Green versions of this card.
Tomorrow is the last day… You can help make a donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation with your Paper Pumpkin subscription. Click here for more information.
This card layout is fabulous when paired with the @SoSocial stamp set – perfect for that young person in your life. Don't you think?
Warning though…if you think it's hard to read the correct way,…
…look at what it looks like backwards!! It makes it a bit of a challenge to assemble. LOL
I still want to read this one as "kind of a big fat deal." Where I get the fat from? I don't know.
The shark fin comes from the Ray of Sunshine stamp set. It's one of the ray images.
To make this card you'll need the supplies below. The Magnetic Platform is optional but makes cutting edgelits and framelits so much easier. AND it's on sale this week.
I love this pack of designer paper from the Occasions Catalog! Adventure Bound comes in a stack of 48 4-1/2" x 6-1/2" double-sided sheets – 4 of 12 designs. It has photographed images on one side and designs on the other. With 24 handsome choices, this may become one of your favorite paper packs, too!
These are three of the sheets that inspired some photo pages recently.
(These particular page protectors are now retired – SU carried them a couple years back, but they work well with Project Life products since the pockets are all 4" x 6". You could adapt your pages so they fit in your own Project Life pocket pages. Though we don't carry these pocket pages anymore, click here to see the 12 x 12 variety pack I recommend.)
In this layout I used the logs and pine papers with…
…the "stars" Epoxy Stickers.
Here I used the water and rocks papers with…
…the "bubble" Epoxy Stickers.
And in this layout I used the dark wood and forest papers with…
…the "hearts" Epoxy Stickers.
Each of the pages have one more insert: a piece of 4" x 6" Chalkboard paper stamped with Whisper White Craft Ink.

I set aside this weekend to work on my personal scrapbooking. I'm very excited! I hope you can take time to do something you love this weekend, too. Thanks for stopping by!
One of our new designer paper stacks in the Occasions Catalog features some wonderful, nature-inspired designs and masculine patterns…great for those more masculine cards and projects.
You get 48 sheets in a 4-1/2" x 6-1/2" stack. And it includes 4 each of 12 double-sided designs (that's 24 designs!).
This is one of the cards we made at my Sweet Suite Cards event this month. It features the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack. Each attendee used either the birch bark, logs, hardwood or rocks designs for their designer paper (this card design looks great with any of them!). We were able to get two 4" x 3-1/4" pieces from each sheet. So with 4 sheets each, a crafter could make 32 of these cards from one stack and still have 32 sheets of paper left)! That's a lot.
