The new Magic In This Night Suite is an amazing Halloween-themed set of products. BUT…if you look closer, many of the products could be used to create projects and cards beyond Halloween. I focused on this suite when I decided to make a fun fold card that could hold a bookmark. My husband loves to watch scary movies and read scary books. (I’m total opposite.) His birthday is coming up, so he was on my mind when I created one of these cards. Then I made a second version of this card that didn’t have anything scary at all on it. Both of them were designed using this suite.
I just showed live on YouTube about an hour ago how I made this fun fold card using the Hollows Night Stamp Set, the Halloween Magic Dies, the Magic In This Night Designer Paper, & some Iridescent Pearls along with some other coordinating products. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.
I hope you enjoyed what I shared in this video. Below are measurements, close-up photos, and a product list for what I demonstrated. (Please subscribe to my YouTube channel so you can get updates when I share and go live).

MY ONLINE PAPER CRAFTERS CLUB IS LOOKING FOR NEW MEMBERS We are looking for more to join our online Paper Crafters club. The commitment is to order at least $25 worth of Stampin’ Up! product in each of 6 consecutive months. In one of those months, you would reap the hosting rewards (free merchandise based on the club orders). And then you’d also be able to get in on monthly product perks that would be sent to you along with your monthly club cards.
Happy soon-to-be-Halloween! My boys have their costumes, they’ve planned with whom they will go trick-or-treating (Nick says this is his last year so he has four friends joining him), the house is decorated, and there is a lot of candy in the house (that I keep having to replenish for some reason). The boys carved their pumpkins, too. This year, Luke (my scary movie fan) did NOT make a scary pumpkin. He made his pumpkin into a little house with windows and a door. He plans to put a rock path up to it and decorate it up a little more.
And this weekend we attended the Anoka Halloween Grand Day Parade which we’ve done pretty much every year since my boys were babies. Nick was in the marching band for the Anoka Middle School for the Arts, and like last year played the quads (a set of drums) while he marched. (proud mama here!)
Do you need some last-minute creative Halloween treat ideas. Designer paper and a simple stamped image can be your friend. These two items can decorate your sweet treats quickly.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
This first one is a Ghirardelli chocolate wrapped with a 4-1/2″ x 1-5/8″ strip of See A Silhouette Designer Paper. I stamped, die-cut, colored, and adhered this vampire image from the Spooktacular Bash Stamp Set.
My second one is a cardstock wrap on a slightly larger treat – a Chocolate Sea Salt RXBar. The cardstock measures 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and is scored parallel to the short edge at 1-1/4″, 1-5/8″, 3-7/8″, and 4-1/4″. It’s decorated with a 4″ x 2″ piece of Monster Bash Designer Paper. I then added a stamped, die-cut, and colored mummy image on the front and a stamped and die-cut sentiment on the back – both from the Spooktacular Bash Stamp Set.
I recommend using Tear & Tape Adhesive to secure the cardstock or designer paper wrapped around the treat.
After Halloween is over, don’t put away the Ornate Frames Dies and Monster Bash Designer Paper. This simple thank you card with a sentiment from the Magnolia Blooms Stamp Set can be given at any time of year. I added a 4″ strip of Black Scalloped Edge Ribbon peeking out from under the right edge of my 4″ x 2″ strip of Monster Bash Designer Paper and added them to Whisper White Note Card. My swirly frame is cut from a piece of Black Foil Sheet. I don’t see “Halloween” at all when I look at this card.
I hope you enjoyed my last-minute Halloween treat ideas and note card! Thanks for stopping by. Wishing you and yours a fun, festive, and safe Halloween!

Here is one more fun card idea you can make with the September 2019 Bone Appétit Paper Pumpkin kit, some fun designer paper, and a birthday stamp set that includes sentiments about being old. It’s based off of my 3-Panel Scenery Z-Fold card I shared a couple weeks ago on September 28th. I also shared more that I made with the Feels Like Frost Designer Paper on September 29th and on October 8th.
I sent this Bone Appétit card out to a few of my lucky subscribers.
Here are some details if you wish to make this card yourself.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements for extra products…
Basic Black Cardstock
5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored at 1-1/2” and 4-1/4”
Whisper White Cardstock
1-13/16” (or just over 1-3/4”) x 5-1/4”
3/4″ x 3″
1″ x 3″
Monster Bash Designer Paper
6” wide x 5-1/4” tall – cut into 3 sections 2-3/4” wide, 1-1/8” wide and 2-1/8” wide
Directions…
Ink up the WISH stamp image, then “kiss” the un-inked skeleton image from the stamp set in the kit to the W. The skeleton will remove some of the black ink and leave an image behind when stamped that actually appears quite spooky! ☠︎(Stamp the WISH onto the 1″ x 3″ Whisper White Cardstock.)
Stamp the other sentiment onto the 3/4″ x 3″ piece of Whisper White.
Cut one of the webs from the kit into two pieces (one slightly larger than the other). Attach with SNAIL Adhesive the smaller web coming from behind out the top of the WISH piece and the larger web coming from behind out the left side of the 2-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of designer paper.
Fold the Basic Black card base, then start adding the layers…
Add the 2-1/8″ wide designer paper piece so it sits close to the middle score line of the Basic Black card base (as shown). Add the Whisper White piece next to it leaving about a 1/8″ gap.
Fold the card closed, place a piece of contrasting paper or cardstock underneath the front flap and adhere the 2-3/4″ wide designer paper piece to the front so the Basic Black cardstock that is showing frames the designer paper evenly and the designer paper covers up the Whisper White underneath. Be sure that you only apply adhesive where the designer paper connects with the Basic Black top flap of the card.
Now with the card completely open add the middle layer of designer paper.
Attach the hands with SNAIL and the sentiment strips with Dimensionals.
And you are done! If you want to see my how-to video tutorial for this fun fold, click here.
If you need more alternate project ideas using this kit, be sure to check out my posts on September 22nd and on September 26th.
If you are not a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, I invite you to give it a try. CLICK HERE to learn more. CLICK HEREto sign up by October 10th (TODAY!) for the next kit.

WORLD CARD SENDING WEEK Did you take part in World Card Making Day this past weekend? My family was out of town for a wedding. But I made several cards last week and prepared a few customer thank you when I got home on Sunday night.
Stampin’ Up! would now like to assign this week (October 7-12) World Card Sending Week. They have sent out a challenge to our demonstrators to send 50,000 cards during this time—that’s about one per demonstrator, but of course our customers’ cards count too! So report back to me (by the end of the week) to let me know how many cards you’ve mailed this week. I’ll keep a tally, and then I’ll report our amount to Stampin’ Up! (Personally I think we can surpass this goal. I’ve send 30 so far!)

I made more pencil boxes for anyone who is looking for a non-candy treat for Halloween.
Aren’t these boxes fun? After I shared my Back to School Pencil Boxes on August 26th, I just had to create more. That is one of my “personal issues”…needing to make several versions of the same project or card. ?
Below are the instructions.
Measurements for the skinnier box:
Terracotta Tile Cardstock
8-3/4″ x 4″ scored parallel to the long side at 3/8″, 1-7/8″, 2-1/4″ and at 1/4″ from the other end AND scored parallel to the short side at 3/8″, 3/4″ and at 3/8″ from the other end (see photo below)
Basic Black Cardstock
7″ x 1-3/8″
7-5/8″ x 1-3/8″ scored at 1″ from each end
Monster Bash Designer Paper
1-1/4″ x 6-7/8″ strip
Products I used: See below for a complete list of products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Directions for the skinnier box:
Score and cut out tabs from the Terracotta Tile Cardstock as shown. Use a 1/2″ Circle Punch to make the thumb slot.
Assemble box using Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Adhere the designer paper to the 7″ x 1-3/8″ Basic Black Cardstock. Then add this to the box.
For the 7-5/8″ x 1-3/8″ Basic Black Cardstock, cut down the middle of the ends just to the 1″ score lines. Punch small holes at each end – one where the cut and score line intersect and two at the ends of the score lines.
Add a rubber band to each end: loop around one half of the end, then twist and loop around the other half.
Insert pencils. Put pencils into the box and close the box.
Measurements for the wider box:
Gorgeous Grape Cardstock
8-3/4″ x 6-3/4″ scored parallel to the long side at 3/8″, 3-1/4″, 3-5/8″ and at 1/4″ from the other end AND scored parallel to the short side at 3/8″, 3/4″ and at 3/8″ from the other end (see photo below)
Basic Black Cardstock
7″ x 2-3/4″
7-5/8″ x 2-3/4″ scored at 1″ from each end
Black Foil Sheets
Scraps for punching 1″ Circle and Daisy
Scrap for die-cutting Ornate Frames die
Monster Bash Designer Paper
2-5/8″ x 6-7/8″
Highland Heather Cardstock
Scrap for stamping and die-cutting sentiment
Products I used: See below for a complete list of products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Directions for the wider box:
Score and cut out tabs from the Gorgeous Grape Cardstock as shown. Use a 1/2″ Circle Punch to make the thumb slot.
Assemble box using Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Adhere designer paper to the 7″ x 2-3/4″ Basic Black Cardstock.
Stamp sentiment the Highland Heather scrap, then die-cut with the Ornate Frames die. Die-cut the Black Foil scrap with the coordinating Ornate Frames die. Layer these two together and add to the box using Black Dimensionals.
Punch the 1″ Circle and the Daisy from the remaining Black Foil scraps. Cut the Daisy equally into four sections – two petals (legs) per section. Put SNAIL on the back of the 1″ Circle then attach these pairs of spider legs so there is lots of space where the head and abdomen will be. Add Googly Eyes with Glue Dots. Then add the spider to the box using Black Dimensionals.
For the 7-5/8″ x 2-3/4″ Basic Black Cardstock, cut down the middle of the ends just to the 1″ score lines. Cut down the middle of each of those two sections. Punch small holes at each end – three where the cut and score lines intersect and two at the ends of the score lines.
Add a rubber band to each end: loop around half of one of the halves of each end, then twist and loop around the other half.
Insert pencils. Put pencils into the box and close the box.

Eek! Just as Stampin’ Up! promised us, the September 2019 Bone Appétit Paper Pumpkin kit DOES give new meaning to the word “handmade.” ☠︎It’s a fun one for Halloween fans and for those who just love skeletons in general.
As many of you know, I LOVE getting these monthly kits! This month’s kit included supplies to put together 20 food-safe treat boxes. And it included the supplies shown below.
But I like to think outside the box…see what else I can come up with, and create alternate cards, scrapbook pages and more. So I added the extra supplies in the product list at the bottom of this post to the above kit supplies and created my alternate projects that I’m sharing with you today:
THREE fun fold cards
A non-halloween card
Wedding favors
A “house” Halloween treat box
And a tombstone treat box

A PEEK AT OCTOBER’S & EVEN NOVEMBER’S PAPER PUMPKIN KITS Christmastime papercrafting with Paper Pumpkin has become an annual tradition! So to deliver more of what our subscribers love this holiday season, in October and November we are offering back-to-back coordinating kits, one with Christmas cards, the other with Christmas tags. Both kits make it easy for you to add a handmade, personal touch to your holiday giving—without a lot of fuss. It’s Christmas made easy with Paper Pumpkin! The October 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit makes ten 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ cards and includes envelopes. The November 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit makes 24 holiday-themed gift tags of 4 various sizes and designs. Both kits include coordinating colors: Early Espresso, Pool Party, Poppy Parade, and Shaded Spruce. The October and November kits coordinate; however, each kit is all-inclusive and can stand alone. Click here to get your subscription started by October 10th for the next kit.
