The fun fold I am sharing today was inspired by a Valentine card I received last year from fellow Stampin’ Up!® demonstrator, Lisa Fisher. And because the Kits Collection Kits are on sale this month I decided to create my altered version of Lisa’s fun fold with the Boho Beach Kit.*
The extra cuts in this Open Gate Fold create extended panels that overlap when the card is closed. And then I used full layers to cover the holes created by the cuts to make the card sturdier but also show off more of the decorative design of the kit card bases.
I can get four fun fold cards from the parts and pieces needed for two kit cards. So by replicating these cards, you can double the cards from your kit!
*The Boho Beach kit is currently unavailable in the US market. But supplies will replenish.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating these cards with the Boho Beach Kit and a bit of extra coordinating Stampin’ Up!® product: Basic White and Pool Party cardstock, Pool Party Ribbon, and Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls. US BACK-TO-SCHOOL SALES TAX HOLIDAY Thirteen states and Puerto Rico are offering a sales tax holiday for school supplies during the months of July, August, or September. Products that are eligible according to the statute include “items normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes.” To see the names of participating states, products exempted from tax, and sales tax holiday dates 2023 Tax Holiday spreadsheet here. If you want to get in on the tax holiday, you must place your order with Stampin’ Up! during the tax holiday period in order to receive these items tax-free (which is midnight on the first day to midnight on the last day of the tax holiday). Also, keep in mind that this is a state sales tax holiday; the state statute may not apply to county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.
A new Kits Collection kit arrived in my expedited order a couple days ago, and I (of course) was motivated to do something a little different with it. So while our house guests from Vienna were in Duluth for the day, I played around with the kit contents to see what I could do to “stretch” the kit. And I’m excited to show you what I came up with.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for how to almost double the projects. I was able to get nine Christmas cards with the supplies for five of the tags from the kit by adding some extra cardstock, a pack of envelopes, some ribbon, sentiment images from the Brightest Glow Stamp Set, and some creativity. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post.
Plus my special guest Laia demonstrated how to make the tags using the kit instructions!

A faker shaker card (also inspired by one of the ideas on the back of the direction pamphlet)
And a scrapbook page layout.
A faker shaker is fairly simple to make.

Measurements…
Daffodil Delight Cardstock
5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4″
Basic White Cardstock
(2) 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″
Kit Envelope (for the blue water layer)
1-1/2″ x 5-3/8″
Directions…
Die-cut a “cloud” border to create a mask. After stamping the sun image in the upper corner, use a Blending Brush (starting towards the top) and the mask to create the clouds.
Continue to mask and blend to form the clouds.
Put the finished image into the Clear Envelope. Add some Shaker Circles on top of the image.
Tape the excess down on the back side and seal the envelope shut to keep the circles from escaping.
Attach this to the front of the folded card base using Tear & Tape Adhesive along all four sides.
Then add the blue envelope layer and the umbrella layer (also trimmed to 5-3/8″ wide) with Seal Adhesive. Then add the stamped sentiment banner with Dimensionals.
Decorate the inside layer the same way if you wish.

Tips…
For the left page, cut the card base from kit to 3-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Place that piece, the 3-1/2″ wide coordinating kit images, the black photo mats, and the More Dazzle strips onto the 12×12 base to space them evenly. Then attach them.
The boat layer in the middle and the palm tree layer at the bottom are added with Dimensionals.
The boat layer covers the 5/8″ gap between the beach layer and the sunset layer.
Multipurpose Liquid Glue works great for attaching the More Dazzle strips.
For the right page, die-cut the title twice – once in each color. Cut about 5/8″ from the bottom of the Flirty Flamingo letters and attach these pieces to the tops of the Mango Melody letters using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Cut the card base from kit to 2″ x 8-1/2″. Place that piece, the black photo mats, and the More Dazzle strips onto the 12×12 base to space them evenly. Then attach them.
Add the other images and add the kit sequins.
Then add the page title.

I love challenging myself to create beyond intended images. And today I took the balloon tassel die-cut and turned it into a candle flame to make a unique birthday candle card.

I love how Distressed Gold Specialty Paper and Parakeet Party green look together. Such a striking combo! I had paired these two colors in a project I had made for a class recently and just HAD to use them together again in today’s creation featuring the Layering Leaves Stamp Set and the Patchwork Pieces Dies.

Measurements
Parakeet Party Cardstock
5-1/2” x 7-5/8″ scored parallel to short side at 3-3/8”
Distressed Gold Specialty Paper
3-1/2” x 5-1/4”
Basic White Cardstock
2-1/2” x 3-3/4”
2″ punched circle
1-1/4″ x 8-1/2″ strip for stamping and punching leaves and flowers
Vellum Cardstock
4″ x 5-1/4″
Scrap for punching both Bough Punch shapes
Gold Foil
2-1/8″ die-cut circle
Directions
Stamp the three leaves images on the Basic White strips with Garden Green ink. Put Parakeet Party ink onto the corner of an acrylic block. Dip a Blender Pen into the ink on that block to pick up some color. Color the leaves starting at the bases to get the gradual dark to light look on each leaf. Punch out the leaves.
Punch out the Bough Punch shapes from the Vellum Cardstock scrap.
Ink up the stems of the flower image with Garden Green ink. Use the Blender Pen to wipe off any ink on the flower buds. Then ink up the buds with Flirty Flamingo ink. Stamp and punch.
Stamp inside sentiment onto the Basic White rectangle layer. Adhere to the Vellum rectangle layer. Then add this to the inside of the card.
Die-cut the Distressed Gold with the Patchwork Pieces die. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue attach the pieces as shown below to the front area of the card. (This photo doesn’t show the whole card, just how the die-cut pieces will fit into the top portion of the card.)
Stamp the solid leaves image with Parakeet Party ink into the empty space so that the branch of leaves will appear to be peeking out from the sentiment circle.
Make and add the sentiment circle…Stamp “thinking of you” onto 2″ Basic White circle. Layer this onto 2-1/8″ die-cut Gold Foil circle. Then add this to the front of the card using just three Dimensionals under the portion that will connect to the top of the card (if picturing the circle as a clock one under the 12, one under the 6, and one under the 9).
Put Multipurpose Liquid Glue under the stems and tuck and adhere the leaves and flower as shown.
Embellish with Iridescent Rhinestones.

Products that are eligible according to the statute include “items normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes.” To see the names of participating states, products exempted from tax, and sales tax holiday dates 2023 Tax Holiday spreadsheet here. I can’t stop creating with this month’sPaper Pumpkin kit! And a couple days ago I came up with two Bridge Fold Cards that I couldn’t wait to share with all of you.
The pieces from this kit with the surf board and beach umbrella are perfect for front bridge pieces.
And the 3-1/2″ wide scenery pieces fit perfectly in the indented areas of these type of fun fold cards!
If you did not get this kit or have already used up all the consumables, consider getting the refill kit. Refill kits have everything but the stamps and ink. Or…I hope you can apply these ideas to products you already own.

Base cardstock (Basic White Thick or Crumb Cake)
4-1/4″ x 7-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side in on each end at 1″ and 2″
Sentiment strip on surfboard card (Crumb Cake)
1/2″ x 2-1/4″
More Dazzle Specialty Paper on surfboard card (champagne)

I used two scenery pieces per card but the measurements aren’t the same for each design. The scenery pieces on this umbrella card worked perfectly to fill up the whole Basic White background.
I trimmed just a sliver off the left side of one so it would fit nicely in the center back.
Then I cut the second scenery piece into four equal pieces that were 7/8″ wide and attached everything as shown. OH! And I stamped and fussy cut a sun then added it to the middle panel with a Dimensional.
I collapsed the right side into a flat z-fold to make the card base 5-1/2″ wide. Then I attached the 5-1/2″ wide umbrella piece to the bottom right corner and bottom left corner of the card base. You can see in this photo below the bottom right already attached AND how the bottom left will line up when I flatten everything down.
And in these next three photos you can see how it all came together. The card folds flat in either direction so it fits into an envelope. AND it can stand up on display.
I stamped a sentiment on the sign and added that piece with Dimensionals. I also glued down the sunglasses, the shovel & left side of the sand bucket, and the left part of the umbrella.
Here is the second version of this card.
Again…I trimmed just a sliver off the left side of one so it would fit nicely in the center back. But I didn’t want to have two suns showing. So I cut 1/2″ wide strip from each end. Then I cut two more 7/8″ wide strips from the left side of what remained.
To fill in the gaps I added strips of champagne colored More Dazzle Specialty Paper.
I stamped “sending an ocean of love” across the top. Then I added the surfboard piece the same way I added the umbrella piece in the first card.
I inked up just the word “sunshine” from the “hello, sunshine” stamp, stamped it on the right side of the Crumb Cake strip, hand-wrote the word “and”, trimmed it at an angle, and added it to the lower right front of the card with Dimensionals.
Lastly I added the chair and a starfish with Dimensionals. And I glued on the pink shell.

Of course I want to make another bridge fold card now with the palm tree scenery piece and palm trees, but that will have to wait. Our house guests from Vienna are going to arrive at any moment!! (And I’ll share more about that later.)
