The fun fold I am sharing today was inspired by a Valentine card I received last year from fellow Stampin’ Up!® demonstrator, Lisa Fisher. And because the Kits Collection Kits are on sale this month I decided to create my altered version of Lisa’s fun fold with the Boho Beach Kit.*
The extra cuts in this Open Gate Fold create extended panels that overlap when the card is closed. And then I used full layers to cover the holes created by the cuts to make the card sturdier but also show off more of the decorative design of the kit card bases.
I can get four fun fold cards from the parts and pieces needed for two kit cards. So by replicating these cards, you can double the cards from your kit!
*The Boho Beach kit is currently unavailable in the US market. But supplies will replenish.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating these cards with the Boho Beach Kit and a bit of extra coordinating Stampin’ Up!® product: Basic White and Pool Party cardstock, Pool Party Ribbon, and Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls. US BACK-TO-SCHOOL SALES TAX HOLIDAY
Thirteen states and Puerto Rico are offering a sales tax holiday for school supplies during the months of July, August, or September. Products that are eligible according to the statute include “items normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes.” To see the names of participating states, products exempted from tax, and sales tax holiday dates 2023 Tax Holiday spreadsheet here. If you want to get in on the tax holiday, you must place your order with Stampin’ Up! during the tax holiday period in order to receive these items tax-free (which is midnight on the first day to midnight on the last day of the tax holiday). Also, keep in mind that this is a state sales tax holiday; the state statute may not apply to county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.

Love this card idea and I so appreciate all of the instructions and video! I have a tip for you that will make your life sooooo much easier: On the cuter – on the clear arm that levers up containing the cut and score sliders…cut a piece of vanilla cardstock 1/4″ + a wee bit x 11″ and glue that strip (with a thin coat of white glue) to the inside of the ruler/measurements side of that lever arm. Now your measurements will pop out when cutting dark papers or papers with a busy pattern. Email me and I’ll send you a pic if this hint isn’t completely clear.
This works for some (and has been suggested to me). But I find it blocks my view at times. What works for me if I can’t see the measurements is just slipping paper under there temporarily or adjusting the lighting if I need to.
When I’m doing a live video the angle is the issue. I come at my projects at an angle not viewing directly on top.
Looking forward to making this card with some friends during a Cabin Getaway in a few weeks. One thing I noticed in your supply list you say, “Basic White Night of Navy Cardstock”! I’m sure you just neglected to delete the “Night of Navy” part since there is no Night of Navy in this card at all. Thought you might want to edit your blog post.
