Today I wanted to get back to some basic techniques for beginning crafters but also show creative options to appeal to the more experienced. I started playing around with the tall and gorgeous Dainty Delights floral image and decided it would be a great one to show off both.
So today I’m going to share the same card layout done three different ways. I’ll demonstrate masking, a couple different ways of coloring in, a couple ways of adding ribbon, and some other tips/tricks.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating these cards with the Dainty Delight Stamp Set, Dainty Delight Dies, Blending Brushes, the Sequins Trio Pack, and other coordinating Stampin’ Up!® product. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.

I altered another kit! I took the supplies from the Love, Santa Tag Kit (which makes 12 tags) and created twenty-four cards. Too fun! So if you love this kit, you may want to purchase one or two and make all of this year’s Christmas cards with it.
Currently as I’m writing this post, the English version of this kit in the Kits Collection is not showing up in the online store. But the French version is. So after making my first set of 8 cards from 4 of the tags using the stamps in my kit, I altered my second set of cards and used sentiments from the Santa’s Delivery and Brightest Glow stamp sets to show that the French kit is well worth the purchase too if you can’t get your hands on the English version and don’t speak French.
You can watch my how-to video by clicking on this image below if you are already on my blog post or by clicking here to view it directly on YouTube. Then scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements, written directions, and products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.

Now normally when I make a video, I don’t share written directions. And when I share written directions, I don’t share a video. But I wrote up the directions and then decided this would be a good blog post to have a video. So you get both today! LOL
To get started…
Sort and separate out all the pieces from the kit.
Gather your extra adhesive and tools.
Prepare your card base and layer pieces using the measurements below (multiply those measurements by 3 if making all 24 cards).
Cut the loop sections from the tops of the Santas, Christmas trees, and present piles.
Cut the yellow automobiles from the present piles.
Cut the Christmas trees in 1/2 down the middle.
The first and second cards each use a piece of 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ Crumb Cake cardstock for the base with a 4” x 5-1/4” Basic White layer on the inside.
For each card adhere a 7″ strand of twine around a 2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Basic White cardstock. With Seal Adhesive attach these to the fronts of the cards about 1/4″ away from the side edge. Attach the 1/2 trees to the other sides. Stamp sentiments. If stamping on the yellow rectangle, too… add this rectangle with Dimensionals. Embellish cards with rhinestones: the card with the tree on the left gets 2 large pink, 2 small pink, and one small clear (on the star) while the card with the tree on the right gets 1 large pink, 2 small pink, and one small clear (on the star).
The third one is pretty simple and uses a 4-1/4” x 11″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock for the base. Tie 16″ of twine from the kit around the front. Stamp the sentiment image in the circle. Add the Santa image with Seal Adhesive and the circle sentiment with a Dimensional. And add a 4” x 5-1/4” Basic White layer on the inside.
The fourth one also requires a 4-1/4” x 11″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock for the base. Stamp the “Joy” image with full ink onto a rectangle piece. Stamp the “Joy” onto three more rectangles, but use less ink. (To do this stamp onto scrap paper two times before stamping onto the rectangle OR follow the steps I used with the Stamparatus in the video.) Add the dark Joy to the scalloped yellow rectangle layer and add to the front of the card with a Dimensional. Add the other two with Seal Adhesive. Embellish the front with a few rhinestones: 3 small yellow, a small clear, and large clear. And add a 4” x 5-1/4” Basic White layer on the inside.
The fifth requires a 4-1/4” x 11″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock for the base with a 4” x 5-1/4” Basic White layer on the inside. Stamp the branch image twice onto the tag between the berries. Add this to the card front with Seal Adhesive. Stamp the “Joy” image onto a rectangle, add it to the scalloped yellow rectangle layer, and then add it to the front of the card with a Dimensional. Finish off by adding a small pink rhinestone in the hole at the top.
The sixth uses a piece of 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ Basic White cardstock for the base. Stamp the branch image three times, adhere the green leaf piece over the top. Stamp the sentiment onto a white rectangle (and onto the card if creating the second version, the one I share in the video), add to the pink polka-dot scallop strip, and add to the card with Dimensionals. Tie a 6″ length of twine in a bow and add to the green branch with a rolled up kit glue dot. Embellish with 3 small clear rhinestones.
The seventh also uses a piece of 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ Basic White cardstock for the base but with a 2-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ Crumb Cake added 1/4″ down from the top on the front of the card. Adhere a 12″ strand of twine around from the inside to the front and tape the ends down in the middle. Cut a white rectangle in half and cut the ends to create banners, add the stacked presents to the lower middle of the Crumb Cake section, then tuck and add the banner halves. Stamp the sentiment onto a white circle, layer onto the green scallop circle, and add to the front of the card with a Dimensional (concealing the ends of the twine). Embellish with a small pink and two large pink rhinestones.
The eighth and last card requires a 4-1/4” x 11″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock for the base with a 4” x 5-1/4” Basic White layer on the inside. Position the car in the lower left (about a 1/2″ from the left and 1/2″ from the bottom). Stamp the present image three times so it looks like a stack on top of the car. (Pull the car away when you stamp so you don’t get ink on it.) Stamp the sentiment onto the rectangle. Layer the this onto the red scallop strip. Add the car and sentiment piece with Dimensionals. Then put two large clear rhinestones in the headlights.
So these are the versions you’d get if you used the stamp set that came with the kit.
And these are the versions you’d get if you used the Santa’s Delivery and Brightest Glow stamp sets that I used in the video.
I hope you enjoyed what I had to share. Thanks for tuning in!

When Stampin’ Up! added the Masking Paper to our product line, I was super excited! I don’t use it often enough. But when I do, I can’t stop creating and want to try out all the possibilities. Think of it as giant Post It® Notes but with a stronger stick.
So I had a few minutes to play around last week with this Masking Paper and a background stamp I’ve been dying to design with: Pretty Medallion. And today I have two pretty, but easy-to-make greeting cards to share!
I tried sharing these last week, but my two attempts at live broadcasts didn’t work. My apologies to those of you who showed up and hung in there with me through those 30 minutes.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for the basics of using Stampin’ Up!’s Masking Paper and how to make these two cards with the Pretty Medallion Stamp Set, the Simply Fabulous Stamp Set, dye-based inks & Blending Brushes, heat embossing, and of course…the Masking Paper. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.

Welcome to our PPX monthly blog hop! Today I have my blog post linked to posts from those in my Paper Pumpkin Exclusives Video Crew so we could all share a few more projects that we put together with some of our leftovers from the June 2022 Pick of the Crop kit. See what I have to share. Then scroll down and click on the names of other hop participants to see additional creative alternate paper crafting project ideas with this Paper Pumpkin kit. (If you are receiving this blog post by email, click HERE to see the hop.)
On June 30th, I shared how I made eight alternate cards from the supplies of the three kit cards…turning 3 cards into 8, so almost tripling the cards from the kit. Today I have an alternate idea with the canvas bag, a Tobblerone Chocolate Bar wrap, and a 12×12 scrapbook page layout to share.
Extra products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
I bleached the bag! Yep…I wanted a whiter bag, so I soaked it in bleach overnight and then washed it with a load of whites to get this brighter bag.
Then I cut the chipboard from the kit packaging to get a 4-3/4″ wide piece and put that inside to keep any ink I stamped from bleeding through to the other side.
Because there was a bit more “bulk” at the top of the bag (from the seam and handles), I set it up in the Stamparatus with that portion hanging off the edge.
The above photo shows one strawberry darker than the other. I had to stamp the darkest one four times! The lighter one was only stamped twice at this point. I may have had quicker results had I used Memento ink. But I used StazOn, because I didn’t want the ink to wash off if the bag got wet.
The only problem was when I then colored in the berries and used Blends Markers (again because I didn’t want the ink to wash off if the bag got wet). And the Blends Markers aren’t supposed to pair up with StazOn (I forgot), so there was a bit of smearing with the black outline images. Oh well. LOL I still love the results.
Oh…And the “pearls” are just drops of White Pearlized Enamel Effects.
I created my second project because I wanted to add a bit of chocolate to the food images and turn it all into a fun picnic.
So I wrapped a Tobblerone candy bar up with the back half of the kit card sealing it with Seal Adhesive and then decorated this 3-D treat up a bit. I started with the bread placing it so it covered the red letters on the chocolate bar.
Then I added the cheese and tucked in 2 sets of flowers.
I added my second wedge of cheese with Dimensionals, a gold bow with a Glue Dot, a stamped sentiment strip with Dimensionals, and 3 gold flower accents.
Such a fun gift to give and receive!
Those that follow what I share with these kits know that I’m a scrapbooker. And I usually make a 12×12 page or layout with every kit. This time I made a layout. And I used the returning 12×12 Basic Black cardstock!!! I can’t express how happy I am that this staple item is back!!
Measurements for photo mats…
Fresh Freesia Cardstock, the back halves of two kit cards for the lighter blue, and Soft Succulent Cardstock
4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ (two of each color)
Blackberry Bliss Cardstock, Night of Navy Cardstock, and Evening Evergreen Cardstock
4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ (two of each color)
To get the greenish color on the left half of the Perfectly Penciled designer paper, I added color from the Soft Succulent ink pad with a Blending Brush which gave a nice smooth ombré effect.
The colors in the Adhesive Backed Sequins & Gems pack work well with the colors in this layout. So I added the sequins here and there.
On the right page I added the blueberry bunch, 3 bunches of flowers, and the sentiment strip which is popped up on Dimensionals and makes a nice “base” for the cluster of goodies. I also added a metallic bow and metallic flower embellishments. But I went with silver instead of gold this time.
You might also notice that I stamped berries in the background. But the black ink on black cardstock didn’t show up very well. So you could leave this step out.
I hope I inspired your creativity with what I shared today! If you did not get this kit, I hope you can apply these ideas to products you already own.
Today is the last day to sign up (or have an active subscription) for Paper Pumpkin so you get in on the next kit titled Sending Good Thoughts. (More details on this kit can be found below.)

For card makers it’s always great to have at least one stamp set that contains sweet and cute animals to use with cards where you want to welcome a new baby, celebrate a young child’s birthday, or to just send a message to a close friend. If you are in need of a set like that, consider the new Peekaboo Farm Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!’s 2021-22 Annual Catalog. The images in this set made my heart melt when I first saw it with those reaching paws and all the attentive sweet faces.
I just showed live on YouTube about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating some cute peeking farm animal cards with this set, the Layering Diorama Dies, and the Stamparatus tool. I also share how to color the images using Blending Brushes and the masking technique.
And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.
I hope you enjoyed what I shared in this video. Below are measurements, close-up photos, and a product list for what I demonstrated. (Please subscribe to my YouTube channel so you can get updates when I share and go live).
