Today I have two more alternate projects to share that I made with the Sending Hearts Paper Pumpkin kit. Tomorrow is the last day to sign up (or have an active subscription) for Paper Pumpkin so you get in on this month’s February kit. And if your subscription is through me, you’ll be able to enjoy exclusive ideas shared in video tutorials from myself and 5 other creative Stampin’ Up! demonstrators on the PPX Crew.
Here are a two more projects that I created with this past month’s Sending Hearts kit: a love-themed scrapbook page layout and a z-fold layer card.
My page layout was built around the triangle tile heart pattern you may have seen in quilting.
Extra products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Basic Gray 12×12 Cardstock (from the Neutrals pack)
Two pieces that are 12″ x 12″
Red patterned card base from the kit
Five squares that are 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″
Two squares that are 1-1/2″ x 1-1/2″
Red envelope paper from the kit
Five squares that are 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″
Two squares that are 2″ x 2″
Basic White Cardstock
Six squares that are 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″
Basic Black Cardstock for photo mats (these can be various sizes based on your photos)
4-1/2″ x 5-1/2″
4″ x 5-1/4″
Two pieces that are 4-1/8″ x 5-1/2″
Two pieces that are 4-1/8″ x 4-1/8″
Directions…
Prepare all the pieces according the measurements above.
Then cut all the squares diagonally to get triangles.
Form the heart by following the pattern in the photo below. After laying it all out with spacing that seems even, adhere one piece at a time. (I found it easiest to add corners, then sides, and then the middle.)
Attach the smaller triangles on the right page next.
Stamp the large heart and the hearts/flowers image/
Add photo mats, double stacked “Love”, and the pearls.
My z-fold layer card was so much fun to make that I made extras and sent them off to five of my lucky subscribers.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements
Basic Black Cardstock
4-1/4” x 9-3/4” scored parallel to short side at 3-1/4″ and 6-1/2”
4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
Red patterned card base from the kit
4″ x 5-1/4″ with center 3″ x 4″ piece removed (see directions below) and flipped over
Two pieces that are 1/4″ x 3″
Printed heart piece from the kit
Cut off 1/8″ from each side to get a 3″ x 3-1/2″ piece
Black satin ribbon from the kit
12″
Directions
To get all the red patterned card base pieces, cut one of the card bases in the kit in half. Then cut 1/4″ off the the side and 1/4″ off the bottom. From those strips cut two 3″ lengths. Then to remove the center 3″ x 4″ piece from the remaining 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece, cut 1/2″ in on the right and left and cut 5/8″ in from the top and bottom.
Stamp “Love” and “you” onto heart piece. Stamp “xoxo” on flipped over center card base piece.
Tie the ribbon onto the heart piece.
Fold the Basic Black z-fold layer. Attach the frame card base piece to the 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ Basic Black. Then attach the z-fold layer so it’s centered and opens as shown in the photos.
Add the thin red strips, then the heart layer to the front of the closed z-fold.
Open up the z-fold and add the pink enamel hearts from the kit and some Gold Glitter Enamel Dots to finish the card.

I’ve already shared some other alternate projects using the contents of this kit on January 23rd.
How to turn eight cards into twenty!
A few variations with the coordinating Love Boxes Add-On kit (available while supplies last)
Today I am sharing a couple bookmarks and a shaker card with you.
I find that I’m doing a lot of reading before bed nowadays. Sometimes I have more than one book going at a time, too. So bookmarks were on my mind when I sat down to create. And these are very easy to recreate. In fact if you are someone that does your kits with your kiddos, these may be a fun project to try.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
For the bookmark with the ribbon:
Measurements…
Basic White Cardstock
2-1/2″ x 5-1/4″
Petal Pink Cardstock
2-3/4″ x 5-1/2″
Black satin ribbon from the kit
5″
Directions…
Stamp the heart image in Tuxedo Black ink and color in with the Stampin’ Blends Markers.
Sandwich one end of the ribbon with two of the largest epoxy heart stickers.
Adhere the other end to the back side of the stamped white layer.
Then adhere this layer to the Petal Pink layer.
For the bookmark with the sequins:
Measurements…
Basic White Cardstock (or a portion of one of the card bases from the kit)
2-1/2″ x 5-1/4″
Flirty Flamingo Cardstock (or a portion of one of the card bases from the kit)
2-1/2″ x 5-1/4″
Directions…
Stamp the heart image in Tuxedo Black ink.
Insert this layer into the clear envelope and add a small amount of sequins making sure they stay on top.
Tightly wrap and tape the side portion of the envelope to the back side. Then tightly wrap and tape the opening end of the clear envelope to the back side.
Attach the Flirty Flamingo layer to the back side.
Let’s apply that idea now to a card. In fact these are called “faker shaker” cards.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Flirty Flamingo Cardstock
5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4″
Poppy Parade Cardstock
3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″
3-1/2″ x 4-5/8″
Basic Black Cardstock
Scrap for stamping and punching sentiment
Mailbox layer from the kit
Cut down to 3-1/4″ x 4-3/8″
Black satin ribbon from the kit
14″
Directions…
Stamp the heart/flower image in the upper left of the mailbox layer.
Add this to a clear envelope along with some sequins. Then tightly wrap and tape the opening end of the clear envelope to the back side. Tie on the black ribbon and trim the ends.
Attach this to the Poppy Parade rectangular layer, then attach that to the Flirty Flamingo card base.
Stamp sentiment in VersaMark ink, add embossing powder, tap off the excess, then heat with the Heat Tool.
Punch the sentiment and add to the front of the card with Dimensionals.
To create the inside envelope, line up opposing corners of the Poppy Parade square piece in your Stampin’ Trimmer at the 1″ mark, and score. Do this to both sides.
Rotate in the other direction and line up opposing corners of the Poppy Parade square piece in your Stampin’ Trimmer at the 1-1/4″ mark, and score. Do this to both sides.
Trim out the bottom two areas where the score lines intersect. Trim 1/4″ off the bottom point.
Add Tear & Tape as shown below. Fold in the the side and then the bottom. Crease with a bone folder and attach to the inside of the card.
Then add the “Love” die-cut piece with Dimensionals so it looks like it’s coming out of the envelope.
I hope I inspired your creativity with what I shared today!

Today I have three more alternate projects to share that I made with the Beary Comforting Paper Pumpkin kit. And today is the last day to sign up for (or have an active subscription for) Paper Pumpkin so you get in on this month’s January kit. And if your subscription is through me, you’ll be able to enjoy exclusive ideas shared in video tutorials from the PPX Crew of six talented Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.
Here are a few more that I created with this past month’s kit, December 2020 Beary Comforting Kit: a baby-themed scrapbook page layout and cute dresser drawer gift box AND an adorable “get well soon” fun fold card. I’ll start with the page layout which would make a great new baby announcement page. All the stats (weight, height, sex, name…) could be written on the sentiment strips below the bear.
Extra products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Calypso Coral 12×12 Cardstock (from the Subtles pack)
Two pieces that are 12″ x 12″
Basic Gray 12×12 Cardstock (from the Neutrals pack)
Two pieces that are 11-1/4″ x 11-1/4″
Artistry Blooms Designer Paper
Two pieces that are 11-1/8″ x 11-1/8″
Gold Foil Sheets
3-1/2″ x 3-5/8″
Gold Metallic Edge Ribbon
13″
7″
Directions…
Prepare all the pieces according the measurements above. Since only the edge of the Basic Gray shows, feel free to remove the inner portion of the cardstock layers. This generous amount of cardstock could be used on another project later AND it lessens the weight of the pages a bit.
Attach the designer paper to the Basic Gray. Then position all the closed and sealed envelopes (photo mats). Adhere these photo mat being careful not to put adhesive near the outer edges.
Trim the koalas, add them to the photo mats, and add Gold Gilded Gems.
Add the 13″ strand of ribbon by attaching the ends on the back side of the page layer.
Add the striped cardstock layer to the Gold Foil layer. Stamp the “Hooray” and attach to the bear (tucked under the arm) with Dimensionals. Add the bear with Dimensionals.
Position the bear layer and the sentiment strips. Then adhere them to the page. (I didn’t do this, but I recommend journaling on the strips before adding them to the page.)
Attach the heart with a Dimensional, the 7″ of ribbon tied in a bow with a Glue Dot or two, and the Gold Gilded Gems.
Add these to the Calypso Coral 12×12 pieces.
Add photos and any more journaling to finish off the pages.
The pages above were inspired by this adorable dresser drawer gift box. I could totally see this box filled with some soft little baby gifts and given (along with the prepared scrapbook pages) to the parents of a newborn.
Extra products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Striped card base
Two pieces that are 4″ x 5-1/2″ (from two cards)
Soft Sea Foam card base
4″ x 5-1/2″
Gold Metallic Edge Ribbon
24″
Three pieces cut to 10″ each
Directions…
Prepare all the pieces according the measurements above.
Assemble three matchbox Love You Always Treat Boxes. Use a hole punching tool such as a Crop-o-Dile to punch a hole in the front of each drawer.
Fold each of the three 10″ ribbon strands. Tie an overhand knot onto each to create a loop about 1″ long. Use a Q-tip to push each loop from the inside to the outside of each drawer. Make sure the knots are tight and trim the ends.
Using Tear & Tape stack and secure the treat boxes to form a set of drawers.
Connect the card base pieces as shown using Tear & Tape Adhesive. Make sure the pieces are perfectly lined up…edges are straight.
Then starting at the top, secure the middle section of the striped section. Fold and bring the sides down – again double checking the alignment each and every time. Use a Bone Folder to help form the strong creases. Wrap the bottom around and connect the ends to the box. The tighter you wrap, the better it will all look.
Trim up the koalas and attach them to the two other bears as shown. Score two of the larger sentiment label strips from the kit at 3/4″, 1-1/4″, 2″ and 2-1/2″. Fold into support pieces and secure with a bit of Tear & Tape.
Attach the supports and bears to the top of the box with even more Tear & Tape.
Wrap and tie the 24″ strand of ribbon into a tight bow and maneuver into place.
Fill the drawers with gifts and give to the expecting parents as a gift.
This last alternate project idea is an easel “get well” card. What a fun way to let that friend know you are thinking about them.
Extra products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Soft Sea Foam Cardstock
4″ x 5-1/4″
Basic Black Cardstock
4-1/4″ x 11″ scored parallel to the short side at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″
Blackberry Bliss Striped Ribbon
7″
14″
Tips or Directions…
Prepare all the pieces according the measurements above. Add the Soft Sea Foam layer to the inside of the card. Wrap the 14″ ribbon around the front, tie in a knot, and trim the ends.
Stamp the sentiment pieces and tie the 7″ ribbon into a bow. Set aside.
With the striped “square” piece in front of you (lines going horizontally), mark one inch down on the left side and one inch down on the right using a pencil so you can erase if you need to later. Mark 1/4″ in on the left top and right top. Cut to connect the marks and remove the corners. This will give you the look of a 3-D box. Put a score line through where the 1″ marks are too if you wish. Then bend slightly. This will help with the 3-D look.
Use your trimmer or an X-Acto knife to cut a slit in the top of the box. Insert a tiny piece of tissue.
Use an X-Acto knife to cut around the left arm of the bear. Position the bear as shown, then add Dimensionals to the back bottom area (from the score line down). Adhere to the front of the card, and bend the Basic Black cardstock at the 2-3/4″ score line just to make sure everything is working and the adhesives are where they should be.
Add the rectangular sentiment piece with Dimensionals to the inside of the card about half-way up. This will act as a ledge for when the card opens and forms an easel. So be sure it it straight and parallel to the bottom edge of the card.
Add the circular sentiment and Gold Gilded Gems to finish off the card.
Send to an ill friend to brighten their day.
I made a few and gifted them to some of my Paper Pumpkin subscribers.
Looking for more ideas? Be sure to check out my fun alternate projects that I shared on December 24th. I hope I inspired your creativity with what I shared today!

I’m excited to share my first set of alternate projects I created using the December 2020 Beary Comforting Paper Pumpkin monthly subscription kit! With the busy holiday season and extra deliveries needing to be made due to the pandemic, I was pleasantly surprised to get my kit on time. And I’m excited to share my first set of fun ideas with you today!
This sweet kit contained the supplies shown below to make twelve full-size greeting cards – 4 of three different kinds.
I never assemble my kits per the directions, because I like to show subscribers other ways to use those supplies. I like to think outside the box…see what else I can come up with, and create alternate cards, scrapbook pages and more. So today I’m sharing with you…
A beautiful basic box
A Delightful Tag Topper treat box
Two tag punch closure cards
Two corner fold fun-fold cards
And a festive fan
Watch my video first by clicking here to get to get measurements, directions, and tips. Or you can just click on this image below if you are already in my blog post. Scroll down to see close-up photos, access the links that I mentioned in my video, and see a list of extra supplies (linked to my online store) that I used to make my creations. Then be sure to visit my blog again soon, because I have many more alternate projects that I’ll be sharing on December 31st and again on January 10th.
Here are the cards the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)

MY ONLINE PAPER CRAFTERS CLUB IS LOOKING FOR NEW MEMBERS We are looking for more to join our online Paper Crafters club. In one of those months, you would reap the hosting rewards (free merchandise based on the club orders). And then you’d also be able to get in on monthly product perks that would be sent to you along with your monthly club cards.
Today is the last day to sign up for (or have an active subscription for) Paper Pumpkin so you get in on this month’s December kit. And if your subscription is through me, you’ll be able to enjoy exclusive ideas shared in video tutorials from the PPX Crew of six talented Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.
Did you get this past month’s kit? If you did, be sure to check out my fun alternate projects that I shared on November 23 and December 3. Today I have a few more that I created with the November 2020 Jolly Gingerbread kit: a simple treat holder/ornament, a z-fold card, and a framed home décor piece.
Extra products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
The simple treat holder/ornament is just that…super simple.
Tips…
Cut the flap off the kit envelope. And decorate the front and back with stamp images while flat.
Fold the opening in the opposite direction to form a sour cream shaped container.
Add two strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive as shown. And fill the container with candy/treats.
Pinch closed.
Pierce a hole and add some ribbon if you wish to make these into ornaments.
The gingerbread fronts and backs are perfect centerpieces for a full-size card. So go a step further by adding an extra fold in the base to make a fun z-fold card.
Measurements…
Whisper White Thick Cardstock
5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short end at 2-1/8″ and 4-1/4″
Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper (or some other fun/fancy paper since this is now sold out)
4″ x 5-1/4″
Tips…
Stamp and decorate a gingerbread front (or back).
Add Dimensionals only to the back of the left half.
Then mount this the middle of the Plush Poinsettia layer.
Add some Seal Adhesive to the back of the Plush Poinsettia paper only in the area behind the house where the Dimensionals are.
Fold the card base into a z-fold and add the Plush Poinsettia layer.
Open the card and stamp/embellish the inside.
The framed home décor piece was SOOOooo fun to make. I basically did the same thing in this project that I did with my scrapbook page layout that I shared on November 23. Click here to view that post and watch the how to video for tips and tricks. I used a 9×9 frame.
Measurements…
Whisper White Cardstock
9″ x 9″
8″ x 8″
Mint Macaron Cardstock
8-1/4″ x 8-1/4″
Shaded Spruce Cardstock
1/4″ x 8″ (two pieces)
Scraps for punching four trees
Snowflake Splendor Ribbon
8-1/2″
7″ (three pieces)
Tips…
Click here to view my post and watch the how to video for tips and tricks for the scrapbook page that I made in a similar fashion.
Tear all snowy ground layers from the 8″ x 8″ piece of Whisper White. Then layer them using Seal or Dimensionals between the layers. Be sure not to put adhesive too close to the top edge. Otherwise you may not be able to tuck in the candy embellishments.
To add the Shaded Spruce strip and ribbon on the top, apply Seal Adhesive directly to the Mint Macaron layer then attach. You can wrap the ends of the ribbon around the back, or just trim them.
I added the bows with Glue Dots from the online store. The ones that come in the kits aren’t strong enough for this ribbon.
I hope I inspired your creativity with what I shared today!
