It was such a fun experience working with Senior Product Designer Jen Foxley at Stampin’ Up! She took my sketches and suggestions and helped me bring these fun images to life!
Layering Leaves is an all-occasion stamp set that coordinates with one of our “staple” punches, the Bough Punch. Leaves are awesome accents for a wide variety of cards and other paper crafting projects.
If you are looking for more motivation to add it to your collection, stay tuned. I’ll be sharing lots of my creations in future blog posts, videos, and social media posts. I’ll also be offering a class that will include the option to add in an autographed copy of the stamp set. I hope to have that information ready to share about a week or so before the release of the new catalog…so late April.
For now, here is a sample card I put together right away after receiving my copy of the set from Stampin’ Up! a few weeks ago.
I was so in love with a card that Shelli Gardner (the co-founder of Stampin’ Up!) sent me after I reached another sales milestone. And so her card was obviously the inspiration for my version.
Here are details if you want to recreate my version. But take note that Soft Suede cardstock is retiring. So if you love the total look, be sure to order that asap.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements
Soft Suede Cardstock
5-1/2” x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to short side at 4-1/4”
Distressed Gold Specialty Paper
3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″
Basic White Cardstock
4” x 5-1/4”
3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″
Scraps for stamping and punching leaves
Garden Green Cardstock
1″ x 3-1/4″
Vellum Cardstock
Scraps for punching leaves
Directions
Stamp sentiment on Garden Green strip with VersaMark ink. Add white emboss powder. Tap off the excess, and then heat emboss.
Die-cut 3″ stitched circles from the 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ Distressed Gold Specialty Paper & Basic White Cardstock pieces. Cut the white one in half.
Emboss the 4” x 5-1/4” and one of the half-circle Basic White Cardstock layers. Attach the 4” x 5-1/4” Basic White layer to the inside of the card.
Layer the 1/2 circle onto the Distressed Gold circle and add to the center of the card front.
Ink up the large, more solid leaf stamp with Granny Apple Green ink. Use a dauber to add Garden Green ink to the stem and leaf bases, then stamp the image onto a white scrap. Do this twice and punch each of them out.
Use daubers to ink up the Garden Green stems and Flirty Flamingo flowers of the tiny buds image. Stamp the image onto a white scrap. Do this twice and punch each of them out.
Punch a large Vellum leaf.
Attach the larger leaf cluster images (Vellum first) using Glue Dots. Add the tiny buds.
Then add the Garden Green sentiment strip with Dimensionals.

I love the Sweet Citrus Bundle! Every card I see out there is so eye-catching! So I thought I’d share this bundle with you today along with a fun background layer that my friend Vy Tran calls a “faux quilt.” She shared this fun pieced together background during one of our latest demonstrator events. It works great with scenery-like designer paper and with multiple fabric-like designer paper sections as the “star of the show” on a card. But it’s also fun when this background is more subtle just to give a layer a little more pizzazz.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating this card with the Sweet Citrus stamp set, dies, and embossing folder, daubers, the Bough Punch, and other coordinating products from Stampin’ Up!®. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.
Wasn’t that fun to see how the hybrid dies/embossing folder work together?!

knowing I wanted to change it up and create something different with the kit contents. With Easter around the corner and Spring in the air, I was finally inspired. I put together some simple baskets thanks to a video from Inky Hands Warm Hearts. And I used the flowers from the kit for my basket decorations.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Basket base cardstock/designer paper
12″ x 12″ scored in at 4″ on each of the 4 sides
Basket trim
Two connected 3/4” x 8-1/2″ strips overlapping in the middle about 1/2″
Basket handle
Two connected 1” x 8-1/2″ strips overlapping in the middle about 1/2″
Reinforcement cardstock for the bottom inside of the basket (optional, but I added this on the inside of my basket made from designer paper)
<4″ x <4″ (and I also added a <3-7/8″ x <3-7/8″ of designer paper from one of the cut corners of the basket base)
Directions
Watch the video by Inky Hands Warm Hearts to see her tips and directions for assembling the basket. She uses 6×6 paper. But I doubled all her measurements to make larger baskets. So use my measurements when putting this basket together if you want yours to look like mine. If making the navy basket, emboss the four basket sides before assembling (the trick is to fold the side flaps inward then only roll the flap that is getting embossed in through the rollers of the machine and then back out again). And keep in mind, after scoring the basket base piece and cutting out the four corners so your base looks like and x, save a corner if you want to use it for a reinforcement layer on the inside bottom. My baskets turned out to be approximately 4″ x 4″ x 4″ (not including the handle height).
After adding the basket trim and handles, then add the flowers from the kit with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Dimensionals (or a hot glue gun). To learn how to assemble the kit flowers, watch Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video for this kit. You’ll notice that I created a few Blackberry Bliss flowers of my own each made from two punched out sunflowers and a gold Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dot for the center. I also trimmed up some of the leaves and stems from the kit to spread them out and allow them to embellish more flowers.
(I decorated two baskets with one kit and still have the yellow 3D flower, the twine, and the wreath frame leftover.)
Add some shreddies and some treats or a gift. And you are all set for giving your basket to someone special.
With this larger size basket, you may want to reinforce the bottom with layers of cardstock and/or designer paper especially the one made from the thinner weight designer paper.
An added bonus of using designer paper is the decoration is already done on both the outside AND inside for you. No need to stamp or emboss.
Thanks for stopping by. Which basket was your favorite? Would you use these for Easter? I’m thinking these would even make great May Day baskets. Other ideas? List them below in the comments.

I just received my March 2023 Ten Years of Growth Paper Pumpkin monthly subscription kit on Monday afternoon, so I decided to share my first set of alternate project ideas in this week’s Live recording like I did last month.
This anniversary kit which celebrates 10 years of Paper Pumpkin kits (hence the name of the kit) contained the supplies shown below to make nine “plantastic” cards (3 of 3 designs).
As many of you know I never assemble my kits as is, because I love to create and I enjoy sharing other ways to use those kit supplies. I like to think outside the box…see what else I can come up with, and make alternate cards, scrapbook pages and more. So today I’m sharing with you…
Two fun fold cards (a Faux Dog-Eared card and a Tucked Gate Fold card)
And a 12×12 scrapbook page layout
Plus I copied one of the samples on the back of the kit’s direction pamphlet.
Because the 22nd fell on a Wednesday again (the day I do my Lives) and because my kit just arrived on Monday, I decided to combine my first set of Paper Pumpkin alternates AND my Wednesday Live Online Paper Crafting Class again this month. Normally my Paper Pumpkin alternate videos are pre-recorded so I can edit out mistakes and speed up slow parts. So preparation for this Live took some extra organization.
Watch my video first by clicking here to get to get measurements, directions, and tips (or you can just click on this image below if you are already in my blog post). Scroll down to see close-up photos, access the links that I mentioned in my video, and see a list of extra supplies (linked to my online store) that I used to make my creations. Then be sure to visit my blog again soon, because I have many more alternate projects that I’ll be sharing on April 7th.
Here are the cards the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
And here are close-up photos of the alternate projects I made and shared in my video. (Remember to watch my video first to get measurements, tips and directions.) A big thank you to Maria Friedman & Silvia Werner for inspiring my two fun-fold cards!
A 12×12 Scrapbook Page Layout
Measurements for photo mats: three that are 4-1/8″ x 5-1/2″ (the size of the two side plant decor layers), three that are 3-5/8″ x 5-1/2″, and one that is 3-1/4″ x 4-1/8″. Measurements for title strip sections: two that are 2-1/8″ x 5-1/2″ overlapped to create a 2-1/8″ x 10-1/4″ strip.
See? I basically just took the kit card layouts into the page.

A Tucked Gate Fold Card
Measurements for card base: start with 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score in from each side at 2-1/8″ and 4″, then trim a little over 1/4″ from each side to make a card base that is 5-1/2″ x a little under 8″.
A Faux Dog-Eared Card
Measurements for card base and layers: Orchid Oasis 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″… folded and then marked in 1-1/2″ from upper left and 1-1/2″ from lower right… open up card and connect the two marks with a diagonal cut. “Window” kit card 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ (cut the card base in half at the score line, then cut 3/16″ from each side and 3/8″ from the top)… marked in 1-1/8″ from upper left and 1-1/8″ from lower right…connect the two marks with a diagonal cut. Fresh Freesia 4-1/16″ x 5-5/16″… marked in 1-5/16″ from upper left and 1-5/16″ from lower right… connect the two marks with a diagonal cut. (Do this also with the leftover white kit card piece for the inside layer.)
A Card I Copied from the Back of the Kit’s Direction Pamphlet

I made a bridge fold card to share with you today. And what’s fun about this one is I created the look of a an actual bridge with the new Elegant Borders Dies and added on it the walking rhino image from the new Rhino Ready Bundle (Stamp Set & coordinating Dies). So it’s my Rhino-on-a-bridge Bridge Fold card! (I’m giggling.)
The images in this set are so adorable. I’m in love with this birthday card, and know it will delight whoever receives it. Below is what it looks like on the back.
I’ve shared how to make bridge fold cards in the past. But if this is a new fold to you, I invite you to watch my tutorial from my 2/24/17 blog post to get a feel for how this kind of card can come together. Another one of my favorites was from my 2/21/18 blog post when I turned the supplies from the Picnic Paradise Paper Pumpkin kit into a picnic table (upside down, this card looks like a table).
Here is a view from the top of my Rhino-on-a-bridge Bridge Fold card! (I’m giggling again…catchy, right?)
A bridge fold card can flatten in either direction to fit into an envelope for mailing.
Here are the tips and details for this card in case you want to recreate it.
Products I used… See below for a list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Garden Green Cardstock
4-1/4″ x 8″ scored in at each end at 1″ and 2″
1-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ for die-cutting the canopy of foliage at the top of the card
Scraps for die-cutting leaves
Basic Gray Cardstock
1-3/4″ x 5-1/2″ for die-cutting the canopy of foliage at the top of the card
Enjoy the Journey Designer Paper
3-3/8” x 4-1/8”
Basic White Cardstock
3-3/8” x 4-1/8”
Scraps for stamping and die-cutting rhino/bird image and little bird
Scrap for stamping and punching sentiment oval
Daffodil Delight Cardstock
Scrap for punching sentiment layer
Tips…
Color (with the Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pen) the stamped rhino and bird images. Then die-cut. I find it’s much easier to do it in this order so you have more cardstock to hold onto while coloring. There are two images to die-cut and two to just stamp on the back white layer.
To create the orange layer between the white sentiment oval piece and the yellow scallop oval piece, color a thick line of the Pumpkin Pie Watercolor Pencil as shown below. Then swirl the tip of the Blender Pen to draw the color up nearer to the edge for the new scallop layer.
Multipurpose Liquid glue on the detailed areas of the bridge help connect the rhinoceros/bird image. You’ll also want to use this glue for connecting the sides of the bridge and the sides of the canopy to the outer areas of the card. (Flatten the card in one direction when attaching these connecting pieces.)
Wink of Stella on the detailed areas of the bridge help give it a more metallic look.
The big leaves and the white sentiment oval are added with Mini Dimensionals.

I have another version of the Side Window Easter Egg Card to share today. This time it’s featuring the elegant Dry Brush Metallic Designer Paper.
This one is similar to the one I demonstrated during my Wednesday Live. (Which version calls to you more?) Be sure to catch the recording of that Live in my March 15th blog post. In that recording I share the step-by-step directions for this type of card, so you’ll want to watch that video if you didn’t see it yet.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Imperial & Metric Measurements…
Basic White Thick Cardstock
4-1/4” x 11” [10.5 cm x 29.7 cm] scored parallel to short end at 5-1/2” [14.8 cm]
1/2″ tall strip
Dry Brush Metallic Designer Paper
Three die-cut ovals for the eggs
Parakeet Party Cardstock
4-1/4” x 5-7/16” [10.5 cm x 14.7 cm]
Granny Apple Green Cardstock
Scraps for die-cutting foliage
Remember to stamp on the inside of the white card base after cutting the side window but before adding any layers to the front.
Feel free to add a third egg (on the inside) similar to the cards I shared on Wednesday. In hind sight I think I would’ve done this myself. But I was limited on the metallic paper.
I had made multiples of this version of the card – this “congrats” version below – for my welcome cards for those who were new to my Stampers With ART Community last month.
As you can see with these sentiments this card could be given to a new couple becoming engaged or getting married. But for a new demonstrator joining my group, I thought the words were appropriate congratulating them on their decision to get the starter kit and to have a fun journey on the demonstrator side of things.
Gosh…now I’m in the mood to decorate our house for Easter. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend.
