#APaperPumpkinThing Welcome to our monthly APPT blog hop! This time we are highlighting the May 2023 Exploring In ColorPaper Pumpkin kit. I created 18 alternate cards with the contents of this kit. The first set of three cards are z-folds and show off more of the printed card designs. The second set of 15 cards share how you can QUINTUPLE the cards from the kit by just adding black & white cardstock and some coordinating 2023-25 In Color Dots.

I usually share lots more project ideas soon after my kit arrives. This would’ve been around the 22nd of last month. But I was in Europe for 2 weeks, got back late on the 28th, slept and unpacked the whole next day, and then got sick 😢. It feels weird not to have done a video of alternates with this kit. But I hope those of you who follow my Paper Pumpkin shares will forgive me this month. Gosh! And such a great kit! I know I could’ve created more. But this is what I DID design…
Z-Fold cards! Hello…the back sides of the kit card bases are just too pretty to have hidden.
By opening the card bases up all the way, adding additional score lines 2-1/8″ in, and folding a bit differently, these z-folds show it ALL off.
Be sure to not overdo the extras around the sentiment sections, too. I omitted these pieces.
Here is the first card.
The only extra product I added outside of the kit was the Brushed Brass Butterflies. Can you find them?
To write a message, flip the card over. When I first saw this design, I was worried for those in the tent, but then I noticed the gulch or ravine. Phew! 😆
This is the second one.
The butterflies are easier to see on this one.
This design is my favorite because I love to canoe.
And this is the third.
Those butterflies are one of my favorite sets of embellishments. I highly recommend them.
I hope you enjoyed these.
For the second set of cards I used the supplies of three kit cards and three kit envelopes, cut them into smaller pieces, rearranged things, and added the pieces to Basic White and Basic Black cardstock. This is what you can prepare for one set of 15.
Measurements for the first 12 cards
Basic White Cardstock
(12) 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4″
(12) 2-3/8″ punched circles
Basic Black Cardstock
(24) 1/2″ x 5-1/2″
Kit card bases – each cut into 4 vertical sections
Measurements for the other 3 cards
Basic Black Cardstock
(3) 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
Kit envelopes – sides cut off to make them 5-1/2″ wide…and then cut a bit of the flaps off and cut just below the designs
Here are the results of the first twelve.
The black strips of cardstock are added under the sides of each scenery strip. And the sentiment circles are added with Dimensionals.
And the 2023-25 In Color Dot embellishments are simple to add, and add just the right amount of shine. I used 3 per card.
Here are the results of the last three. These are made from the envelopes that are trimmed up and wrapped over and attached to the Basic Black base pieces.
This is what they look like on the back.
And this is what they look like open. The inside 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ white layers are cut from the remaining envelope paper.
These close up photos show that I used the extra envelope flaps for a couple of the sentiment piece accents. This Happy Birthday one is trimmed about 3/4″ from the right end, separated a bit, and then connected with the binoculars.

I’m having a fabulous time with my husband on Stampin’ Up!’s 2023 incentive trip* aboard Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas visiting ports of Norway. It’s so beautiful here!!! I’ll share photos soon. (Click here to see some glimpses of the adventures we had in Europe the week before.)

Swap cards are usually identical, but the die-cutting would have taken four or five times as long and I would’ve had to throw out tons of paper afterwards had I refrained from these variations. When I created these particular cards, I started with the die-cuts that I had leftover from my cards that I created and shared on May 3rd. I didn’t want these swap cards to be as colorful though. So I paired the two pinker colors with the greens and the two bluer colors with the greens just by cutting a few more extras of the greens.
Here are some details if you wish to make one or more of these cards yourself.

Basic White Thick Cardstock for the card base
5-1/2” x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to short side at 2-1/8″ and 4-1/4”
4-1/4” x 5-1/2″
Misty Moonlight or Old Olive Cardstock for the inside layer and the stamped/punched leaves
4” x 5-1/4”
Scrap for stamping and punching leaves
Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock
1/2” x 5-1/4”
Scrap for punching leaves
Vellum Cardstock
5/8″ x 5-1/4″
Scrap for punching leaves
Cardstock for the layering dies: a combination of Azure Afternoon, Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green and Lemon Lime Twist OR a combination of Berry Burst, Fresh Freesia, Granny Apple Green and Lemon Lime Twist
4-1/4” x 5-1/2″ of each
Colored cardstock for the middle front sentiment: Azure Afternoon, Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green, Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, or Fresh Freesia
Small scrap to stamp and die-cut middle front sentiment
Directions…
Punch the Vellum Cardstock leaves, the Lemon Lime Twist leaves, and then stamp and punch the Misty Moonlight or Old Olive leaves.
Die-cut the 4-1/4” x 5-1/2″ Basic White with the largest die from Countryside Corners Dies. Die-cut the middle front sentiment piece from the extra colored cardstock.
Use Post It® Tape to connect all the layering dies from the Countryside Corners Dies together (as I shared how to do in the instructional video from May 3rd). Then die-cut the many “rings” of the various colors remembering to keep them all positioned the same way so you can reassemble the rings later.
Either cut the sentiment stamp into two pieces OR mask to stamp “sending” onto the middle front sentiment piece and the “hugs” onto the center of the Lemon Lime Twist strip.
Choose the combination of rings you like best. Add adhesive all over the large white die-cut base piece. And add the rings starting with the largest and working your way in.
Add adhesive onto the smallest center piece. Add the punched leaves. Then add the stamped middle front sentiment piece with Dimensionals.
Fold the card base. Add the layered front panel making sure adhesive is only on the bottom of the back side of this layered panel so the card can fold into an easel as shown below.
Stamp leaves (and a few speckles) on the Misty Moonlight or Old Olive inside 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer.
Add the Lemon Lime Twist strip to the Vellum strip. Then attach this through the center of the 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer using Dimensionals.
Finish off by embellishing with a few Iridescent Pearls.
These were so much fun to make!

I multiplied another Kits Collection kit…the Forever Friends Kit. 😃 To turn the eight cards into 24 I added Night of Navy Cardstock for new card bases, some 2023-25 In Color Dots for extra embellishing, and some Basic White Envelopes (since I cut up the kit envelopes for layers).
Today I’d like to share with you those step-by-step directions for turning two of the kit cards into six. And if you do this three more times, you can get all 24 cards. I’d like to introduce you to a fun new bundle called Gone Fishing.
The stamps and dies focus on bait and tackle!
To me one of the fun parts about going fishing is organizing and sorting all those lures, sinkers, spoons, hooks, bobbers, etc in the tackle box. In fact when I was younger I think I enjoyed looking in the compartments of my tackle box more than holding the rod and waiting for fish to bite. And when I was even younger I remember my sister and I each had tackle boxes just for our art supplies and other entertaining toys and games. We’d open them up and play with everything on our 4 hour-long rides to the cabin most summer weekends.
So needless to say, I was inspired and had to purchase and create with this bundle.
Today I’d like to share with you step-by-step directions for a Father’s Day themed pop-up tackle box card using this bundle and a few other coordinating Stampin’ Up!® products. Here are the other 3 of those six showing off even more adorable images from the designer papers, stamps and dies. This time I left out the ribbon but added in a few more tools: the Double Oval Punch, the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker (for the ellipses and the balloon strings), the Lemon Lolly Ink Pad, and the Charming Sentiments Stamp Set.

Measurements for each card
Base Cardstock (Petal Pink, Lemon Lolly, or Pool Party)
3″ x 9″ scored parallel to short side at 3″ and 6″
Zoo Crew Designer Paper
Image that is die-cut or cut with a scissors (one or two)
Basic White Cardstock
2-3/4” x 2-3/4” (one or two)
2″ x 2-3/4″ (for the alligator card)
Other Cardstock (Lemon Lolly, Basic Black, Lemon Lime Twist, Petal Pink, and/or Pool Party)
Scraps for die-cutting accent images
Directions
Die-cut the animal image/s and coordinating shapes.
If making the raccoon card, either place the balloons on top of the last white layer. Or cut balloons into the white layer and add the pink and blue ones into those spaces.
If making the alligator card, cut the Lemon Lime Twist “grass” (and the Basic Black behind it) to about 4-1/4″ long. Then cut it into a 3″ wide section and a 1-1/2″ wide section,
If making the skunk card, fussy-cut the group of trees and stamp and punch the sentiments (cut the second one in half).
Position images and cardstock layers onto opened card base. Stamp any other sentiments/images. (I stamped Lemon Lolly confetti on the raccoon card.)
Adhere the animals with Dimensionals and everything else using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Add the ellipses or the balloon strings with the Black Stampin’ Write Marker. Or embellish with pearls.
And remember…these are small cards that fit into our 3×3 envelopes.

Small 3×3 cards are fun to give but don’t provide a lot of room to write on the inside. So today’s idea shares how to stretch that inside space AND shows off the fun Zoo Crew Suite of products that is now available in Stampin’ Up!’s 2023-24 Annual Catalog.
I made six of these mini stretch cards so I could share several of the adorable images from the designer papers, stamps and dies. I’m sharing three of them today and three more on Monday (in my next post).
Each card fits into a 3×3 envelope and would brighten a child’s day. These size cards are ideal on top of a gift, placed in a lunch bag as a surprise note, in a child’s room on their desk or night stand, etc.

Directions
Die-cut the animal image/s and coordinating shapes
Position images and cardstock layers onto opened card base. Stamp sentiments and/or other images.
Adhere using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and/or Dimensionals.
Embellish with ribbon, pearls, etc.
