Yesterday I shared a couple card ideas that you can make with the September 2023 With Love & Gratitude Paper Pumpkin kit. Today I have a couple more: two “Card in a Box” cards from one of the boxes in the kit. So with eight boxes in this kit, you can make 16 of these fun-fold cards!
Here are the mini cards and gift boxes the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
The cards I am sharing today are full size cards that fold flat and fit into Stampin’ Up!’s medium-sized envelopes.
So if you’re not a fan of 3-D boxes and mini cards that you can’t put in the mail, I hope you like the cards that I have to share with you today. The only extra product that’s required is a bit of basic white card stock, some basic white envelopes so you can mail your cards, and the ability to follow my written directions.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements for 2 cards…
Box from the kit
Remove 1-1/4” of the top flap, then cut the body of the box in half (see further directions below)
Envelope printed paper from the kit
(2) 2-5/8″ x 3-1/2″ (One piece will have slightly tapered edges. This will get attached to the card with the tapered back flap.)
Basic White Cardstock
(4) 2-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ scored parallel to the short side 3/8″ in from each end
Directions…
To cut the box, position it flat in your trimmer so that the base is at 7-3/4”. This will allow you to trim off the top flap that has the gold foil line along the edge. (Save this piece.) Now you can easily cut your box in half by bringing the base to the 3-7/8” mark.
One half will have one flap. The other one will have four. For the one with four, fold down three of the flaps but keep the other one straight. This straight one and the flap on the other box half (kept straight) is where you will add the designer paper from the kit envelope.
Cut the kit envelope open by trimming off 1/8” from each side. Open it up and cut where the designer paper and the white paper meet. Position this edge at the 5-1/4” mark to trim off some of the rounded edge on the opposite side. Now trim this piece into two at the 2-5/8” mark. Attach these to the straight back flaps of the box halves.
The next step is probably the most challenging part… Fold the edges back along the score lines of the white cardstock. Add Tear & Tape from the kit to the outside of these folded back edges. Peel off the release paper from one side, and add this panel to the inside of the card. Be sure to leave room for the second panel. There are two per card. It helps to hold the box upright when inserting the panel to position it straight in. Then peel off the release paper on the other side and flatten the box to secure. Open the box back up and add the second panel the same way.
Add the die-cut and laser cut foliage pieces with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. It may help to use an envelope as a guide so the foliage pieces aren’t sticking out too far… When the card is folded flat it will be 5-½” wide. So you’ll want to make sure the foliage pieces don’t make the card any taller than 4-1/4.”
Attach the pumpkin to the front part of the box.
Stamp the sentiments on the banners and add them with Dimensionals.
Then add either Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots or the extra triangular flap to finish off the box designs.
Flatten the card down so you can write on the space on the backside. And note that you can flatten the cards in either direction.
I hope I inspired your creativity with what I shared today! If you did not get this kit, I hope you can apply these ideas to products you already own.

US BACK-TO-SCHOOL SALES TAX HOLIDAY Thirteen states and Puerto Rico are offering a sales tax holiday for school supplies during the months of July, August, or September. Products that are eligible according to the statute include “items normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes.” To see the names of participating states, products exempted from tax, and sales tax holiday dates 2023 Tax Holiday spreadsheet here. If you want to get in on the tax holiday, you must place your order with Stampin’ Up! during the tax holiday period in order to receive these items tax-free (which is midnight on the first day to midnight on the last day of the tax holiday). Also, keep in mind that this is a state sales tax holiday; the state statute may not apply to county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.
My September 2023 With Love & Gratitude Paper Pumpkin alternate project ideas are ready!… well as ready as they can be. I injured my hand a couple weeks ago. I tore the sagittal band of my long finger on my right/dominant hand. Yesterday morning I had surgery to fix it, and my hand is now bandaged up so much that I can’t create with it for some time.
I only found out this past Monday that I would be needing this surgery. This was the same day that I received my paper pumpkin kit. So… I made use of that evening and the following day to create as much as I could for my upcoming blog posts. I got six paper pumpkin alternate projects done! Yay! And I’m excited to share two of my creations with you today!
I didn’t record a video of the directions because I didn’t have time for that. But hopefully my written directions and measurements below are clear enough so you can recreate these ideas.
Because it takes a little bit longer now for me to complete things with my non-dominant hand, my blog posts may bit a little bit briefer (not this one…hahaha!) or I may have larger gaps of time between my posts while I heal.
This beautiful kit contained the supplies shown below.
Here are the mini cards and boxes the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
But I never assemble my kits as is, because I like to show subscribers other ways to use those supplies. I like to think outside the box…see what else I can come up with, and create alternate cards, scrapbook pages and more. Today I’m sharing with you two full-size cards (one is a split window fun fold card).
Be sure to visit my blog again soon, because I have a few more alternate projects that I’ll be sharing soon.
Card #1
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Envelope liner layer from the kit
3-1/4″ x 5-1/4″
Scraps of gold foil from the kit
1/2″ x 2-1/4″
3/8″ x 1-1/2″
Basic White Cardstock
5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4″
Gold & Vanilla Satin Edged Ribbon
16″
Directions…
Add the envelope liner layer to the front right portion of the folded Basic White card base.
Wrap and tie on the ribbon so it lines up with the left edge of the envelope liner layer. Trim the ends at an angle.
Trim the right end of each gold strip to create banners. You could use the kit banner piece as a guide if you wish.
Stamp the words “thank you” off to the right on the smaller white banner piece from the kit.
Layer the stamped white banner onto the longer gold banner using seal adhesive or glue dots from the kit. Then add this combo to the smaller banner with Dimensionals from the kit, And attach to the front of the card next to the knot of the ribbon.
Stamp the words “grateful for you” on the longer white banner piece from the kit.
Add the smaller laser cut gold foliage, the die cut leaves, and the banner to the inside of the card using Seal Adhesive, glue dots from the kit, and/or Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Card #2 – Split Window Card
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Pool Party Cardstock
5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side at 2-3/4″ and 4-1/4″
Card base layer from the kit
2-3/4″ x 5-1/2″
Early Espresso Cardstock
2-3/8″ punched circle
Directions…
Position the folded Pool Party card base with the extra score line on the front. Then stamp “with love & gratitude” multiple times horizontally and staggered to fill in that 1-1/2” wide section between the left edge and the score line on the front of the card. This part will take a while, but it’s so fun to see the end result. You could use a stamp positioner if you want the words to look perfect. But I did not on mine.
Use a ruler/straight-edge and the Early Espresso marker to draw a line along the score line on the front of the card.
Open up the card base and position the 2-3/8” Circle Punch so it’s coming in from the top of the card. Line up the edge of the punch with the fold line of the card. The line of the marker should be running down the middle of the circle. With the punch positioned all the way in and lined up, punch the circle from the Pool Party card base.
Stamp the leaves image a couple times on the bottom right corner of the kit card base layer. Adhere this to the front right section of the card base. Then line up the circle punch again in the same spot and punch to remove the half circle of the kit card base layer.
Fold along that front score line. Then added adhesive under the 1-1/2” wide section on the left. And connect to adhere.
Add the Early Espresso circle inside the punched out circle area while also tucking under and adhering gold leaf pieces under the right side (which will be showing on the inside of the card when open).
Add the die-cut pumpkin to the middle of the Early Espresso circle with Dimensionals while also tucking under and adhering gold leaf pieces under the left side.
Open the card again and stamp the words “thank you.”
These first images below show how I stamped the words on the front of the card AND that I cut the gold laser cut leaves down into multiple pieces. (I actually cut them down smaller than this. But this photo just shows how I got started.)
It’s so fun how opening the card still allows you to see the full circle centerpiece.
I hope I inspired your creativity with what I shared today! If you did not get this kit, I hope you can apply these ideas to products you already own.

I’m up for the challenge of running my paper crafting business without my dominant hand! 🤣
As I mentioned above I had surgery yesterday morning to repair the tear in my sagittal band on my right hand middle finger. I ruptured it by trying to stretch my hand in two different directions at the same time. And surgery was the best way to possibly gain full recovery.
So please be patient with me. I may not respond to every e-mail, notification, post, comment, etc…especially if they were meant for me to just read. My blog posts maybe a bit shorter, and there may be larger gaps in time in my sharing or in my responding that I need to do. Thank you for all your well wishes, your prayers, and your comments that bring a smile to my face. I appreciate your support. ❤️

Today I’ve got a card to share that I created using my favorite stamp set, Layering Leaves. I wanted the vase of leaves to come forward when the card was open, to be seen when the card was fully opened and closed, and to be on display on a strong and wide section that could also collapse down flat so the card could fit into an envelope. So I came up with this idea which I’m calling a column card.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating this card with the Layering Leaves Stamp Set, the coordinating Bough Punch, the Exposed Brick Embossing Folder, the Vintage Bottle Shaker Domes, and other coordinating Stampin’ Up!® product. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.

Measurements …
Basic White Thick Cardstock
5-1/2” x 10-1/8” scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4”, 5-3/4”, 7-1/4”, and 8-3/4”
(2) 1-3/8” x 5-3/8”
>1-1/8” x 5-3/8”
1” x 2-3/4”
Scraps for stamping and punching three sets of leaves
More Dazzle Specialty Paper
1-3/8” x 3”
Remember to add all the leaves to the bottle shape cut-out before actually adding the Vintage Bottle Shaker Dome. Then add the More Dazzle specialty paper and the embossed cardstock to the column pieces before connecting the column in place.
Here are photos of the finished card standing up…
…and lying down.
Be sure to watch the video for tips with achieving this look.
The card folds flat in this direction to fit into an envelope. (With the height of the Vintage Bottle Shaker Dome, I recommend mailing this in a bubble mailer envelope.)
And it opens up flat in this direction for ease at writing and signing.
I hope you enjoyed what I shared today! I’m very proud when I can show off this set. Be sure to connect with me when YOU have created a card or project with this set. I love seeing what others are creating with it!

I had fun creating and sharing my Autumn Hidden Scenery Z-Fold cards during my online paper crafting class this past Wednesday. Today I thought I’d share with you the one I first created when I came up with this fold. It’s made with the Hello Irresistible collection of products from our Online Exclusives.
For step-by-step directions for creating the All About Autumn cards, watch the video by clicking here. Or visit my 9/13/23 blog post here. Then scroll down for the measurements and supply list for today’s card.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements …
Basic Black Cardstock
5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored parallel to the short side at 2-1/8” and 4-1/4”
3” x 5-1/2” scored parallel to the short side at 2-3/4”
2-1/2″ x 2-3/4″
Hello Irresistible Designer Paper (leaf pattern)
5-3/8” tall x 6” wide
Hello Irresistible Designer Paper (watercolor pattern)
2” wide x 5-3/8” tall
For this card I stamped onto an extra white layer. First I stamped the leaves in the bottom right corner with VersaMark ink. Then I heat embossed with white powder. After that I used blending brushes to add Daffodil Delight and Lost Lagoon ink. I then wiped the embossed leaves with a tissue to remove any excess ink. Then I stamped the sentiment with Pretty Peacock ink at the top and added this layer with Dimensionals to the mini card.
Enjoy your weekend! And thanks for stopping by.

I wanted to show off more of the beautiful papers Stampin’ Up! offers in the All About Autumn pack. Keeping 2″ strips of these papers next to each other in a z-fold card was a great way to display the designs. But the far right side (where the sentiment portion of the card would be) was so exposed. After playing around with my cardstock a bit more and came up with a way to fancy up that sentiment section AND keep the basic z-fold card secure and flat when closed. I’m calling it the Hidden Scenery Z-Fold Card! And I made seven examples for you today!
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating these cards with the All About Autumn Suite of products (Autumn Leaves Stamps & Dies, Adhesive-Backed Speckled Dots, All About Autumn Designer Paper, Oxidized Copper Specialty Paper), and other coordinating Stampin’ Up!® product. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.

Here is another Frameless Clear Front Shaker Card I made with products from the new Them Bones Suite featured on pages 48 and 49 in the September-December 2023 Mini Catalog.
It’s so fun how the shaker pieces can be seen from the front AND the inside of the card.
I shared the details for making this type of shaker card on August 30th. Visit that post to watch to watch my how-to video. You’ll also see five other cards in this style in that video (on that post) for more inspiration.
Below are measurements, tips, close-up photos, and a product list for today’s card.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store. (In the US market, a few items are out of stock as this post is being published. But items should be back in stock soon.)
Measurements …
Clear Envelope
Blackberry Bliss Cardstock
5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4”
Basic Black Cardstock
4″ wide scraps for die-cutting two grounds
Scraps for die-cutting bats
Basic Gray Cardstock
Scraps for die-cutting fence
Smoky Slate Cardstock
Scrap for die-cutting two sentiment layers
Glow-In-The-Dark Specialty Paper
Scraps for die-cutting bones and the large sentiment layer
Scrap for punching moon
Vellum Cardstock
4-1/4” x 5-1/2”
Them Bones Designer Paper
4” x 5-1/4”
Tips after the initial shaker assembly…
Die-cut the grounds, but then trim them at the bases so they are about the same height as the ground on the designer paper. Add these with Seal Adhesive.
Die-cut one fence, and cut it in half. One is for the inside and one is for the front. Add with rolled and stretched out Glue Dots.
Add the Glow-In-The-Dark moon to the designer paper. Then close the card and add the Glow-In-The-Dark sentiment layer to the front with Seal. Add the outside stamped sentiment layer on top of that with Seal. And then add the inside stamped sentiment layer with Seal.
Cut a few of the bones, then add these (with Multipurpose Liquid Glue) to make them look like they are sticking out of the ground. The sticky end of the Take Your Pick Tool should help grab up these little pieces when gluing them in place. Add another on the front sentiment layer. And add the bat on the moon.
Check out the greenish glow when the card is in the dark. TOOOOoooo fun! Even the shaker pieces illuminate a bit differently.
By the way, this is the sheet I used from Them Bones Designer Paper for the inside layer. The moon is already printed on the portion I used on this card. But adding the glow-in-the-dark moon makes it more fun.
From one sheet you can make six cards. There are two of these sheets per pack, so altogether you could make 12 cards.
I hope you enjoyed what I shared today.
