Here is another Frameless Clear Front Shaker Card I made with products from the new Them Bones Suite featured on pages 48 and 49 in the September-December 2023 Mini Catalog.
It’s so fun how the shaker pieces can be seen from the front AND the inside of the card.
I shared the details for making this type of shaker card on August 30th. Visit that post to watch to watch my how-to video. You’ll also see five other cards in this style in that video (on that post) for more inspiration.
Below are measurements, tips, close-up photos, and a product list for today’s card.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store. (In the US market, a few items are out of stock as this post is being published. But items should be back in stock soon.)
Measurements …
- Clear Envelope
- Blackberry Bliss Cardstock
- 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4”
- Basic Black Cardstock
- 4″ wide scraps for die-cutting two grounds
- Scraps for die-cutting bats
- Basic Gray Cardstock
- Scraps for die-cutting fence
- Smoky Slate Cardstock
- Scrap for die-cutting two sentiment layers
- Glow-In-The-Dark Specialty Paper
- Scraps for die-cutting bones and the large sentiment layer
- Scrap for punching moon
- Vellum Cardstock
- 4-1/4” x 5-1/2”
- Them Bones Designer Paper
- 4” x 5-1/4”
Tips after the initial shaker assembly…
- Die-cut the grounds, but then trim them at the bases so they are about the same height as the ground on the designer paper. Add these with Seal Adhesive.
- Die-cut one fence, and cut it in half. One is for the inside and one is for the front. Add with rolled and stretched out Glue Dots.
- Add the Glow-In-The-Dark moon to the designer paper. Then close the card and add the Glow-In-The-Dark sentiment layer to the front with Seal. Add the outside stamped sentiment layer on top of that with Seal. And then add the inside stamped sentiment layer with Seal.
- Cut a few of the bones, then add these (with Multipurpose Liquid Glue) to make them look like they are sticking out of the ground. The sticky end of the Take Your Pick Tool should help grab up these little pieces when gluing them in place. Add another on the front sentiment layer. And add the bat on the moon.
Check out the greenish glow when the card is in the dark. TOOOOoooo fun! Even the shaker pieces illuminate a bit differently.
By the way, this is the sheet I used from Them Bones Designer Paper for the inside layer. The moon is already printed on the portion I used on this card. But adding the glow-in-the-dark moon makes it more fun.
From one sheet you can make six cards. There are two of these sheets per pack, so altogether you could make 12 cards.
I hope you enjoyed what I shared today.

US BACK-TO-SCHOOL SALES TAX HOLIDAY
Thirteen states and Puerto Rico are offering a sales tax holiday for school supplies during the months of July, August, or September. Products that are eligible according to the statute include “items normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes.” To see the names of participating states, products exempted from tax, and sales tax holiday dates 2023 Tax Holiday spreadsheet here. If you want to get in on the tax holiday, you must place your order with Stampin’ Up! during the tax holiday period in order to receive these items tax-free (which is midnight on the first day to midnight on the last day of the tax holiday). Also, keep in mind that this is a state sales tax holiday; the state statute may not apply to county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.
