I finally started creating with my MOST favorite designer paper in the 2019 Holiday Catalog…Feels Like Frost.
As I was creating, I came up with a design that shows off the full 6″ span of this pretty paper. The photo images are stunning, and I wanted to use as much of the full design as I could. So I altered a z-fold card. Typically a z-fold this size would be scored at 2-1/8″ and 4-1/4″. But I wanted less designer paper on the front panel of the card. This way when the card opens it’s even more of a beautiful surprise seeing the paper expand so much. So I moved the first score line to 1-1/2″ and I’m calling this the 3-Panel Scenery Z-Fold.
After making 24 of these cards (which I’ll be sharing tomorrow on my blog AND which you can see in the video below), I decided to see what other designer papers would work with this fun-fold. I demonstrated those cards this past Wednesday in my Facebook Live Online Paper Crafting class.
I then uploaded the recorded version of my Facebook Live video to my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook). Last weekend at a demonstrator event put on by my upline Susan Campfield, my sister demonstrator Carol Rosengren shared a beautiful fun-fold card she made using the Magnolia Lane designer paper and the Good Morning Magnolia bundle.
As I watched her demonstrate, I realized that I may have never shared any shutter fold cards here on my blog before! Which surprised me since fun-folds are right up my alley. So I immediately started creating when I got home that day, and I came up with four other versions of her card.
One of them I shared from start to finish in my Wednesday, August 28th Online Paper Crafting Class on Facebook. I then uploaded the recorded version of my Facebook Live video to my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook). School starts the day after Labor Day for our district. So we did our school shopping last week (I took Luke to the stores on the 9th and Nick on the 13th), and now we can focus on enjoying our last days of August. I haven’t blogged in a few days, because I’m up at Caribou Lake (my parents’ place in northern Minnesota) with my boys vacationing. And we are having a great time!
The last half of summer is THE BEST time to be here. The bugs aren’t as intense, the deep lake water is tolerable, and the weather is typically warm and sunny. It’s been heavenly.
My friend, Alissa and her kids, Violet and Nolan were up here with us Wednesday through Friday.
And when we were up here at the end of July (before Luke’s surgery), the boys brought up a couple friends, Carter and Jamison. We love sharing this great place with our friends. And my mom and dad are so good at making everyone feel so welcome.
Now that Luke is pretty much recovered from his surgery, he’s back to jumping off the dock, paddle boarding, and just being his normal, goofy, 12-year-old self. He makes me giggle.
Grandpa taught Nick (my soon-to-be 14-year-old) how to bring in and “dock” the boat. So Nick is now going out fishing all by himself. He is having a blast trying tricks while he is doing his favorite water sports…tubing and knee boarding. And yesterday he got up on water skis for the first time.
My goodness! When I look back at photos of these kids in 2013 when I first started blogging, I’m blown away with how much they have changed. They are becoming young men way too fast. LOL

Directions…
Stamp sentiment on the bottom right corner of the 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ Mint Macaron piece.
Sponge glue onto back side (shimmery side) of Shimmer Detailed Laser-Cut Paper frame piece. Adhere to Perennial Essence Designer Paper. Then adhere this to the top area of the 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ Mint Macaron piece.
Sponge glue onto back side (shimmery side) of 3″ Shimmer Detailed Laser-Cut Paper scalloped border. Adhere this below the framed piece above the sentiment.
Using SNAIL layer the 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ Mint Macaron piece onto the Shaded Spruce piece. Then add this to the folded Mint Macaron card front piece.
Add the Whisper White layer to the inside of the card.
Finally add the rhinestone next to the sentiment.

Directions…
Stamp sentiment onto inside of card.
Sponge glue onto back side (white side) of Shimmer Detailed Laser-Cut Paper 3″ x 3″ trellis piece. Adhere to Perennial Essence Designer Paper. Then adhere this to the top of the Petal Pink folded card base.
Stamp sentiment on the Petal Pink scrap piece. Use Timeless Label Punch. Position sentiment close to one end, and punch. Then reinsert punched piece as shown and punch again.
Use Bone Folder to curl Shimmer Detailed Laser-Cut leaves. Put SNAIL on the back of the punched scalloped circle, add leaves coming out the left, then attach this scalloped circle to the card front.
Add the punched sentiment to the scalloped circle with a Dimensional.
Embellish card front with rhinestones.
Looks like today will be another great day for getting in the water! Yay! Wishing you a wonderful weekend as well.

Directions…
Stamp “Wishes” onto Coastal Cabana scrap with Bermuda Bay ink.
Stamp the Cajun Craze sentiments on the scrap white cardstock and punch with Classic Label Punch. “Sending You” should be left justified. “Birthday” should be right justified.
Attach the punched out “Birthday” next to “wishes”.
Punch out the Coastal Cabana Starburst Circle to include both the “Birthday” & “wishes”.
Punch out the 2″ designer paper piece and the Cajun Craze Starburst Circle.
Die-cut the word “Happy.”
Attach “sending you” to the top right of the 2-3/8″ x 3-3/8″ Coastal Cabana cardstock. Trim off excess.
Attach Cajun Craze starburst shape to the bottom left. Trim off excess.
Attach Noble Peacock circle to the Cajun Craze starburst. Trim off excess.
Add rhinestone or sequin to the center.
Add “Happy” die-cut by sponging on the Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the back side. If you have the Silicone Craft Sheet underneath, it protects your work surface. AND you can later remove the dried glue with packing tape! ?
Add this Coastal Cabana layer to the Bermuda Bay layer, then add this to the front of your card using Dimensionals.
You’ll notice that one has a sequin in the center of the circle. And the other has a rhinestone. I intended on having rhinestones on all of my team cards, but I ran out when making the tri-panel cards I shared yesterday. Hahaha! Obviously this is one of my favorite new products. I ended up ordering more after making these cards.

One of THE most gorgeous suites in this year’s annual catalog is the Noble Peacock Suite. You’ll find it on pages 24-26 of the 2019-20 Annual Catalog or by clicking HERE to see it in the Online Store. Below is a quick video put out by Stampin’ Up!® featuring the Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Paper which is what I used on my tri-panel card that I’m sharing with you today.
I actually made a couple versions of this card. One of them includes sentiments from the coordinating stamp set, Royal Peacock. And the other has sentiments from the Well Said Stamp Set because I wanted to turn it into a birthday card.
This tri-panel card shows off the beautiful foiled designer paper and is such a visually appealing layout.
It’s easy to apply this design in other cards that you make. You can vary the size of the panels, too. Click here and here to see a couple other tri-panel cards I’ve shared in recent posts. The above card was stamped with a sentiment from the Royal Peacock set in Gorgeous Grape ink. The one below was stamped with a sentiment from the Well Said set in Melon Mambo ink.

Whisper White Thick Cardstock
5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored at 4-1/4″ and folded in half for the card base
Old Olive Cardstock
1-3/8″ x 2-1/8″
Pretty Peacock Cardstock
1-3/8″ x 2-1/8″
Blueberry Bushel Cardstock
1-3/8″ x 2-1/8″
Noble Peacock Designer Paper
1-1/4″ x 2″ of each of the three patterns
Directions/Tips…
I made several of these cards – one for each of the members of my Online Paper Crafters Clubs and ten more for some achieving demonstrators in my Stampers With ART group. My assistant, Vicki Spicer helped me to work on these cards. So I gave her this template which we both thought worked quite well. The template (that I cut from scrap cardstock) measures 4″ x 5-1/4″ with an opening that measures 2-1/8″ x 4-1/2″ cut from the center about 3/4″ from the top and 3/8″ in from each side.
Vicki placed it on the front of the card, attached the two side panels. And then centered and added the middle one. (She actually found it easier to remove the template before attaching the middle one.)
I ran out of the multicolored Noble Peacock Rhinestones before finishing. So I pulled out my Stampin’ Blends markers and colored some of my Basics Rhinestones.
By the way the designer paper is attached to the coordinating cardstock with Dimensionals to create depth and shadow.
