We are nearing the end of the 2018 Holiday Catalog and coming up on the January 3rd debut of the 2019 Occasions (Spring) Catalog. So today I want to share with you a peek at some of my favorite upcoming new products from the All My Love Suite by showing you another card we made on December 8th at the Silver Elite Retreat.
I’m calling this my Tri-Panel Card. Three patterns in the beautiful new All My Love Designer Paper are exactly the same but printed with a different color layout. So I used these three patterns to in such a way* where the design flows/connects from one sheet to the next. You can see it really well in this first card.
Measurements
- Crumb Cake Cardstock:
- 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″
- Early Espresso Cardstock:
- 4-5/8″ x 3-1/2″
- Scrap for punching a layer underneath the sentiment
- Scrap for die-cutting the accents (optional)
- Whisper White Cardstock:
- 4-5/8″ x 3-1/2″
- Scrap for stamping and punching the sentiment piece
- Scrap for die-cutting the accents (optional)
- All My Love Designer Paper:
- Three coordinating (and connected) patterns cut to 1-3/8″ x 3-1/4″ each*
*To get the best results preparing the designer paper, stack the 3 coordinating 12×12 patterns on top of each other so they are all lined up in the same direction. Then cut them at the same time to get three matching 4-1/8″ x 3-1/4″ pieces. Cut these all at once again to get 3 separate 1-3/8″ x 3-1/4″ pieces. Then separate all the color layers out but keep the pattern connected and in order. Now mix them up and match them to make connected sets but with sections of three different color layers in each set. As you can probably guess, it’s best to make three cards at a time so you can use up all the sets of patterned paper. (Now that your designer paper is ready, follow the rest of the directions below.)
Products: See below for a full list of supplies linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Directions
- Adhere the 4-5/8″ x 3-1/2″ Whisper White piece to the inside of the card. Adhere the 4-5/8″ x 3-1/2″ Early Espresso piece to the front of the card.
- Adhere the set of three designer paper pieces*. Start with the outside pieces first leaving about 1/8″ of Early Espresso showing around the outside from the matting layer. Then adhere the middle piece.
- Stamp the sentiment onto the Whisper White scrap, then punch. Punch the Early Espresso scrap, then adhere to the underside of the sentiment to layer. Attach this layered piece to the front of the card (using Dimensionals) where it looks best.
- Die-cut accent pieces with more scraps, adhere around the sentiment, and embellish with Rhinestones and/or Heart Epoxy Droplets.
Here are a few more card layouts. This one below is my favorite.
Which of the 4 was your favorite?
It’s a fun card to make. In fact I think this card be well received in a class setting as long as the designer paper pieces were all cut and matched up ahead of time. This photo of my mom and Cheryl Lee showing THEIR cards was taken at our Silver Elite Retreat.
