Do you recall the simple Texture Chic cards I shared last month on June 4th? Well today I’m going to show you two stepped up version of one of those simple cards to share with you card-making ideas perfect for any level crafter.

Measurements…
Basic White Cardstock
4-1/4” x 11″ scored parallel to short side at 5-1/2”
1-1/2″ x 3-1/2″
In this card I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso, the splatters in Petal Pink, and the flowers in Flirty Flamingo. To get that lighter pink in the inside solid flower images, I stamped onto scrap paper 3 times first to lighten the intensity of the color before stamping onto the cardstock. I stamped onto scrap paper 2 times for the slightly darker pink outline image.
For the banner I snipped into the middle on the right edge about 1/4″ then cut from the upper corner to the end of the middle cut and from the lower corner to the end of the middle cut to make the “flag.” I used Dimensionals to add this sentiment layer and adhered the sequins with the Fine Tip Glue.
This second one is a casual level card. I used stamps, inks, 2 colors of cardstock, designer paper, and embellishments.

I stamped this card with the same colors and color intensity as the first card. And the banners are formed the same way as the first card, but I cut the white layer first, layered it onto the brown cardstock, and then cut the brown. I added the designer paper, then the white stamped strip, then used Dimensionals to add the sentiment layer. All those embellishment pieces come in the Fancy for Everything sequin pack. And yes, I added them all with the Fine Tip Glue.
This third one is an avid level card. I used the same supplies as the second card, but added the dies from the Texture Chic Suite, the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper, and a Clear Envelope to create the faker shaker part of the card.

The directions for making this one are the same as those for the second card, but the designer paper layer and a bunch of extra sequins are within a Clear Envelope – the faker shaker part of the card. The only other tips I have are to make sure the embellishments are flipped the right way in the Clear Envelope (esp. the half pearls) AND to add the die-cut gold flowers with Fine Tip Glue.

I wasn’t quite in the mood for Christmas which is what most of us think of when we see this new paper in the July-Dec 2022 Mini Catalog. But I had the celebrations of 4th of July and Father’s Day (since I was working on gathering up a belated gift to my dad), on my mind. So I paired the papers up with images from the Brewed for You set from the 2022-23 Annual Catalog.

For all my cards I started by cutting my three 6×6 sheets of Metallic & Shimmer Specialty Designer Paper into four 1-1/2” x 6” pieces. And then I sliced each of these diagonally as shown giving me four similar triangular strips from each color – eight altogether from each color.
I took all the triangles with the sparkle pattern at the pointed end and added them to one card base. The others I added to another card base. And because I had lots of pieces (many that are very big) that got trimmed off from the first two cards, I created a third card.
I marked a point about 1-1/2″ in at the bottom of my base card. Then I covered this white cardstock with adhesive and added the triangular pieces one at a time (starting from the lower right) with the points all ending at that pencil dot.
As you can see from the photo below, you might not end up adding each at that exact spot. But it’s a starting point. You’ll also see I was short one piece. So I added some black cardstock there.

Tips…
The sentiments on the black pieces are stamped with VersaMark ink and embossed with White Emboss Powder.
The beverage in the bottle is not a stamped image. It’s colored in with Blends Markers.
To get the lighter Crushed Curry color in the non-handled glass, stamp first onto grid paper then onto the image.
The drink images are all covered with packaging tape before die-cutting. You can see that they are shiny because of this.

I love that Stampin’ Up! made a kit aimed towards younger crafters. The Robot Buddies Kids Card Kit is one of several kits from the Kits Collection. Kits build creativity, offer quick crafting for when you need that last minute card, store easily, are all-inclusive, make great gifts, are fun to do with others, etc… I’m a fan.
Here are the cards this Robot Buddies kit creates. Aren’t they cute?
Of course you can change them up and do alternate cards/projects. But you can also make all the cards as is and then continue creating with the stamps, inks and left over pieces. This photo shows what I had remaining after making all the cards as the kit intended. There are a lot of leftover pieces, right?
So I created cards with a few of the leftovers and I have five to share with you today. They are super simple. I used an extra stamp set for the sentiments, but you wouldn’t need to.

The first couple cards I made would be perfect for birthday party invitations. (In fact you could turn ALL the cards in this kit into invites for a robot-themed party! Just use your computer to write up the party details. Then print it off and add it to the inside of the card.) The robots in the top card are stamped and then embellished with a few little stickers and googly eyes. The robots in the bottom card are created from the extra stickers. And if you run out of speech bubbles, you can just add skinny triangular stickers cut from the edges of the sticker sheets as I did in the bottom card to still give that look of who is talking. The Bermuda Bay cardstock is cut to 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. The Basic White is cut to 5″ x 7-1/2″ and scored parallel to the short end at 3-3/4″.
I used a Basic White Notecard for this 3rd one. I thought the robot’s hand was a perfect place for a flower.
And for the inside I used a portion of the long sticker that looks like a bunch of gears.
Here are the last two cards. Again I used a notecard for my simple “what’s new” robot card. But the other one required a few more extra supplies (see below). The Granny Apple Green grass sections are just 1″ x 4-1/8″ pieces that I cut along the top. And the Balmy Blue card base is 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored parallel to the short side at 5-1/2″.

I took several aspects of Terri’s card and made the Happy Birthday card that I’m sharing with you today (shown below). I love how the Ladybug Punch can create so much more. I actually put this card together first after receiving Terri’s swap. And then I HAD to make more with that fabulous Ladybug punch which is what led to those boxes on the 13th.
Below are the details for my version of the card if you wish to recreate it. (By the way, the larger Daisy Punch, the Playing with Patterns Resin Dots, and the Pattern Party Designer Paper will be retiring soon. So grab up those products sooner than later if you want them.)

Measurements
Basic White Cardstock
5-1/2” x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to short side at 4-1/4”
Scraps for punching daisies
Basic Black Cardstock
(2 pcs.) 3/4″ x 4-1/4”
Scrap for punching ladybug
Pattern Party Designer Paper (striped B&W pattern)
Scrap for punching ladybug abdomen
Crushed Curry Cardstock
3-3/4″ x 4-1/4″
Vellum Cardstock
Scrap (folded on one edge at about 3/4″) for punching wings
Directions
Color one of large Playing with Patterns Resin Dots with the Dark Basic Black Blends Marker.
Punch two of each flower. Layer them together and add the black Resin Dot to the center of the smaller flower.
Punch the full ladybug body from the Basic Black Cardstock. Punch just the abdomen from the striped paper (watch the direction of the lines).
Stamp HAPPY and BIRTHDAY on the Crushed Curry Cardstock. Emboss with the Hive 3D Embossing Folder.
Use the Blending Brush to add Crushed Curry ink to areas of the Crushed Curry Cardstock and ladybug abdomen.
Punch the wings from the vellum and assemble the bee… Watch the tutorial video from April 13th (starting at the 16 minute mark) to see how to punch the vellum wings properly and for tips on putting this bee together so the wings “fly.”
Add Dimensionals to the back of the bee and the small flower. Use Seal and/or Multipurpose Liquid Glue for the other pieces. And assemble the card as shown.
