I purchased some thin portable pocket lights from Amazon and got creative with one of them yesterday. And I’m loving the results!
I used this crazy looking rooster image and a couple sentiments from the Hey Chuck Stamp Set to make the pop-up light bulb a bit more decorative and of course “punny.”
The pack of 10 pocket lights are almost credit card thin and each come in kraft paper sleeves with printed directions. I didn’t want to toss out the directions. So I kept the sleeve in tact but added designer paper around the outside…because that’s what us paper crafters do to get fancy and make things coordinate. Right?
The lights also come with extra batteries. So I lightly taped one to the inside of the sleeve so my recipient would be able to replace the old one when it wears out.

Measurements
Basic White Cardstock
Scrap for stamping and die-cutting rooster
2″ punched circle
Masterfully Made Designer Paper
3-1/2” x 5-3/8”
Directions
Stamp “rise & shine” onto the pocket light with StazOn Jet Black ink. Stamp the rooster image onto the scrap white cardstock. And stamp “you’ve got something to crow about” on the white 2″ circle.
Color the rooster. I used Watercolor Pencils and then a Blender Pen for blending and softening.
Die-cut the rooster and attach him to the light bulb with three Glue Dots. The edges of the image may stick out a bit, so just curve them around so they hug the portable light base.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to add the designer paper to the sleeve…Start by gluing the designer paper just to the flat-edged outer third. Bend the sleeve and designer paper together to get the paper used to the creases. Glue the paper to the middle sleeve section. Bend the sleeve and paper together again around the last creases. And then glue that last section together. After the designer paper wrap has been added, you can either trim up the designer paper to match the sleeve end or leave as is (like I did).
Then glue on the stamped 2″ circle to complete the outer wrap.
I’m making more of these with the other 9. They were so simple and I’ll be able to finish them in no time. I can’t wait to give them to others.

I’d like to introduce you to a fun new bundle called Gone Fishing.
The stamps and dies focus on bait and tackle!
To me one of the fun parts about going fishing is organizing and sorting all those lures, sinkers, spoons, hooks, bobbers, etc in the tackle box. In fact when I was younger I think I enjoyed looking in the compartments of my tackle box more than holding the rod and waiting for fish to bite. And when I was even younger I remember my sister and I each had tackle boxes just for our art supplies and other entertaining toys and games. We’d open them up and play with everything on our 4 hour-long rides to the cabin most summer weekends.
So needless to say, I was inspired and had to purchase and create with this bundle.
Today I’d like to share with you step-by-step directions for a Father’s Day themed pop-up tackle box card using this bundle and a few other coordinating Stampin’ Up!® products. My friend and fellow team member, Vy Tran from Crafting Daily Dose creates some impressive cards. If you’ve never seen her projects, click here for her Instagram posts or here for her YouTube videos. Her latest design got me so excited that I had to make a version of it right away. It’s a pop-up card that goes from flat to fantastic! And the base is a hexagon shape when in the full pop-up position.

This is the top view of the “nacho” card.
And it folds flat and fits inside our A2/medium size envelopes.
Here are a couple close-ups of my “holy guacamole” card. On this one I remembered to emboss the Parakeet Party cardstock (the guacamole) before assembling. This one is actually made a little bit differently than the “nacho” one, because I put it together before I reached out to Vy. I love trying to figure out things like this on my own. I love the challenge!
Oh! And can you tell what the red and green bits are?
Tomatoes and cilantro! I gave a wet, shiny look to my tomatoes with a bit of Fine Tip Glue.

My first set of alternate January 2023 Key to My Heart Paper Pumpkin projects is ready to share! Hopefully you enjoy what I came up with. My favorite is the pendulum card, but the mini album was fun to make too! The simple idea of interlocking the padlocks might inspire those of you that love the kit cards the way they are, but just want to add a “little something.” Then there is the card with the flap door! (I hope that helps with a variation on that cut out card.) AND… I think moms of little kids will appreciate the idea of doubling the treat containers in the coordinating Heart Boxes add-on.
This love-themed kit contained the supplies shown below to make nine Valentine cards (3 of 3 kinds).
But I like to think outside the box and see what else I can come up with. So here are my instructional videos for what I created.

Today I’m going to show you some cards that I made with the This Birthday Piggy stamp set and the coordinating, limited-time Playful Piggy dies from the Perfect Partners promotion. These three note cards I’m sharing have “dimension” – one card has a wobble, one has a zig-zag extension, and one pops out at you when you open it up! Fun, right?!

What a stunning kit! And I guess we all felt that way, because Stampin’ Up! just informed us that there will be no refills available for the Aug ’22 Sweet Sunflowers. It “sold out” just from those that subscribed. Wow, right?! Well…for those of you who DID get it, here are my first alternate projects that I created with this Paper Pumpkin. And I’m excited to share them with you today!
This month’s kit contained the supplies shown below to make nine stunning cards.
But I never assemble my kits as is, because I like to show subscribers other ways to use those supplies. I like to think outside the box…see what else I can come up with, and create alternate cards, scrapbook pages and more. So today I’m sharing with you…
