#25StampaversaryForSusan
It’s time to celebrate my mentor, friend, and upline Susan Campfield! She just reached her 25th Stampin’ Up!® anniversary. And we are throwing her an online celebration through this special blog hop today! To follow the hop, see what I have to share, then check out all the other blogs in the hop for additional creative ideas by clicking the navy blue “next” button towards the bottom of my post and towards the bottom of each post to follow.
Our hop not only celebrates this kind, generous, and creative gal, but it celebrates the inspiration and leadership she gives to her entire team and other demonstrator peers.
We were inspired by one of the latest fun fold cards she shared on her blog on 7/27/22. So our hop will be showing many versions of that Pop Out Bendy Fun Fold Card.
I used the Apple Harvest stamp set, the coordinating Apple Blossoms dies (that will be available to all come September 1st through the Perfect Partners Promotion), and a designer paper pack that may surprise you…Painted Christmas.
Products I used… a complete list of products I used is shown below, and everything is linked to where you can find them in my online store.
It starts out looking like a typical Gate Fold Card. But once you slide off the belly band, you get a fun surprise. The inside floats towards you!
Measurements…
- Garden Green Cardstock
- 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4” and in from each end at 2-1/8” for card base
- 1” x 5-1/8” scored parallel to the short side 1/2” in from each end for bendy piece
- 1” x 3” scored parallel to the short side at 1/2” and 1” in from each end for the “wobble”
- (2) 2” x 5-3/8” for the layering panels inside the card (Die-cut a 4″ x 5-3/8″ piece with the Stitched Greenery Die first and then cut in half.)
- Real Red Cardstock
- 1” x 9-1/4” for the bellyband
- 2-7/8″ x 2-7/8″ for the front layer
- Basic White Thick Cardstock
- Scrap for die-cutting the 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ stitched square for the front
- Scrap for stamping and die-cutting the front apples on a branch image
- Scrap for stamping and die-cutting the inside apples on a branch image
- Scrap for stamping and die-cutting the sentiment piece on the inside
- (2) 2” x 5-3/8” for the panels on the back of the card
- Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper
- (2) 2” x 5-3/8” for the layering panels inside the card (red herringbone image)
- (2) 2” x 5-3/8” for the layering panels outside front of the card (leaves image)
- Gold & Vanilla Satin Edged Ribbon
- 8-1/2″ to wrap along belly band
- 5-1/2″ to wrap along bendy piece
You’ll be able to find a how-to video within Susan’s blog post, so I won’t attempt to write everything down here. But be sure to attach the strips of ribbon to the belly band and the inside bendy piece BEFORE doing any other attaching. You may also want to practice coloring with your Blends Markers onto scrap pieces of cardstock before coloring on your final images. Here are the Blends I used for the images…
- flowers – Petal Pink (light)
- inside of apples – Petal Pink (light)
- outside of apples – Calypso Coral (light), Real Red (dark and light), Cherry Cobbler (dark and light)
- leaves – Soft Sea Foam (dark), Old Olive (light), Shaded Spruce (light)
- branches – Soft Suede (light), Bronze
I think the rest will make sense after watching her video.
Since there is no place to sign this card on the front or inside, I added white cardstock to the back like Susan had done on a couple of her cards. If you didn’t visit her blog to see her cards yet, click here.
