I purchased some thin portable pocket lights from Amazon and got creative with one of them yesterday. And I’m loving the results!
I used this crazy looking rooster image and a couple sentiments from the Hey Chuck Stamp Set to make the pop-up light bulb a bit more decorative and of course “punny.”
The pack of 10 pocket lights are almost credit card thin and each come in kraft paper sleeves with printed directions. I didn’t want to toss out the directions. So I kept the sleeve in tact but added designer paper around the outside…because that’s what us paper crafters do to get fancy and make things coordinate. Right?
The lights also come with extra batteries. So I lightly taped one to the inside of the sleeve so my recipient would be able to replace the old one when it wears out.

Measurements
Basic White Cardstock
Scrap for stamping and die-cutting rooster
2″ punched circle
Masterfully Made Designer Paper
3-1/2” x 5-3/8”
Directions
Stamp “rise & shine” onto the pocket light with StazOn Jet Black ink. Stamp the rooster image onto the scrap white cardstock. And stamp “you’ve got something to crow about” on the white 2″ circle.
Color the rooster. I used Watercolor Pencils and then a Blender Pen for blending and softening.
Die-cut the rooster and attach him to the light bulb with three Glue Dots. The edges of the image may stick out a bit, so just curve them around so they hug the portable light base.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to add the designer paper to the sleeve…Start by gluing the designer paper just to the flat-edged outer third. Bend the sleeve and designer paper together to get the paper used to the creases. Glue the paper to the middle sleeve section. Bend the sleeve and paper together again around the last creases. And then glue that last section together. After the designer paper wrap has been added, you can either trim up the designer paper to match the sleeve end or leave as is (like I did).
Then glue on the stamped 2″ circle to complete the outer wrap.
I’m making more of these with the other 9. They were so simple and I’ll be able to finish them in no time. I can’t wait to give them to others.

As part of my 5/4/21 million dollar sales achievement, I was given the opportunity to help design a stamp set in my name. Leaves are awesome accents for a wide variety of cards and other paper crafting projects. Layering Leaves is a “2-Step” photopolymer set. So creating filled in leaves is quick and easy.

*Once I receive your registration request form, I will send you an invoice as soon as I can. (Please allow up to 24 hours to see your invoice come through.) With the recent release of Stampin’ Up!’s 2023-24 Annual Catalog came new colors. And within those new colors there is a new family of five called the 2023-25 In Colors. They include these very beautiful earthy tones: Boho Blue, Wild Wheat, Moody Mauve, Copper Clay and Pebbled Path.
When my new products arrived I created a card for each of these new colors using the Timeless Arrangements Stamp Set and Dies. So I thought I’d show them off to you today and give you directions for how I put them together which includes a couple ways to meet two layers together to create an angled background.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating these cards. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. I am in love with the dies in this suite! And so my focus today is on the Countryside Corners dies which I’ve paired up with the Crafting With You Stamps and Dies (for their sentiments and fun imagery). Yes, I deviated a bit from the suite by using another stamp set. But I wanted to share how you don’t have to always keep suite products together when creating. I also stepped beyond the blue hues that are found in the papers of this suite. The blues are gorgeous (don’t get me wrong), but it really is okay to stray from the colors suggested by a suite’s pack of designer paper, too.
A few hours ago I shared live on YouTube and on Facebook step-by-step directions for creating fun card backgrounds with these layering dies. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. As you saw in the video, the main trick is consistent die-cutting of the “rings” with each sheet of colored cardstock. So make sure to keep those dies connected the same way throughout.
