Yesterday I shared a couple card ideas that you can make with the September 2023 With Love & Gratitude Paper Pumpkin kit. Today I have a couple more: two “Card in a Box” cards from one of the boxes in the kit. So with eight boxes in this kit, you can make 16 of these fun-fold cards!
Here are the mini cards and gift boxes the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
The cards I am sharing today are full size cards that fold flat and fit into Stampin’ Up!’s medium-sized envelopes.
So if you’re not a fan of 3-D boxes and mini cards that you can’t put in the mail, I hope you like the cards that I have to share with you today. The only extra product that’s required is a bit of basic white card stock, some basic white envelopes so you can mail your cards, and the ability to follow my written directions.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements for 2 cards…
Box from the kit
Remove 1-1/4” of the top flap, then cut the body of the box in half (see further directions below)
Envelope printed paper from the kit
(2) 2-5/8″ x 3-1/2″ (One piece will have slightly tapered edges. This will get attached to the card with the tapered back flap.)
Basic White Cardstock
(4) 2-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ scored parallel to the short side 3/8″ in from each end
Directions…
To cut the box, position it flat in your trimmer so that the base is at 7-3/4”. This will allow you to trim off the top flap that has the gold foil line along the edge. (Save this piece.) Now you can easily cut your box in half by bringing the base to the 3-7/8” mark.
One half will have one flap. The other one will have four. For the one with four, fold down three of the flaps but keep the other one straight. This straight one and the flap on the other box half (kept straight) is where you will add the designer paper from the kit envelope.
Cut the kit envelope open by trimming off 1/8” from each side. Open it up and cut where the designer paper and the white paper meet. Position this edge at the 5-1/4” mark to trim off some of the rounded edge on the opposite side. Now trim this piece into two at the 2-5/8” mark. Attach these to the straight back flaps of the box halves.
The next step is probably the most challenging part… Fold the edges back along the score lines of the white cardstock. Add Tear & Tape from the kit to the outside of these folded back edges. Peel off the release paper from one side, and add this panel to the inside of the card. Be sure to leave room for the second panel. There are two per card. It helps to hold the box upright when inserting the panel to position it straight in. Then peel off the release paper on the other side and flatten the box to secure. Open the box back up and add the second panel the same way.
Add the die-cut and laser cut foliage pieces with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. It may help to use an envelope as a guide so the foliage pieces aren’t sticking out too far… When the card is folded flat it will be 5-½” wide. So you’ll want to make sure the foliage pieces don’t make the card any taller than 4-1/4.”
Attach the pumpkin to the front part of the box.
Stamp the sentiments on the banners and add them with Dimensionals.
Then add either Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots or the extra triangular flap to finish off the box designs.
Flatten the card down so you can write on the space on the backside. And note that you can flatten the cards in either direction.
I hope I inspired your creativity with what I shared today! If you did not get this kit, I hope you can apply these ideas to products you already own.

My September 2023 With Love & Gratitude Paper Pumpkin alternate project ideas are ready!… well as ready as they can be. I injured my hand a couple weeks ago. I tore the sagittal band of my long finger on my right/dominant hand. Yesterday morning I had surgery to fix it, and my hand is now bandaged up so much that I can’t create with it for some time.
I only found out this past Monday that I would be needing this surgery. This was the same day that I received my paper pumpkin kit. So… I made use of that evening and the following day to create as much as I could for my upcoming blog posts. I got six paper pumpkin alternate projects done! Yay! And I’m excited to share two of my creations with you today!
I didn’t record a video of the directions because I didn’t have time for that. But hopefully my written directions and measurements below are clear enough so you can recreate these ideas.
Because it takes a little bit longer now for me to complete things with my non-dominant hand, my blog posts may bit a little bit briefer (not this one…hahaha!) or I may have larger gaps of time between my posts while I heal.
This beautiful kit contained the supplies shown below.
Here are the mini cards and boxes the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
But I never assemble my kits as is, because I like to show subscribers other ways to use those supplies. I like to think outside the box…see what else I can come up with, and create alternate cards, scrapbook pages and more. Today I’m sharing with you two full-size cards (one is a split window fun fold card).
Be sure to visit my blog again soon, because I have a few more alternate projects that I’ll be sharing soon.
Card #1
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Envelope liner layer from the kit
3-1/4″ x 5-1/4″
Scraps of gold foil from the kit
1/2″ x 2-1/4″
3/8″ x 1-1/2″
Basic White Cardstock
5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4″
Gold & Vanilla Satin Edged Ribbon
16″
Directions…
Add the envelope liner layer to the front right portion of the folded Basic White card base.
Wrap and tie on the ribbon so it lines up with the left edge of the envelope liner layer. Trim the ends at an angle.
Trim the right end of each gold strip to create banners. You could use the kit banner piece as a guide if you wish.
Stamp the words “thank you” off to the right on the smaller white banner piece from the kit.
Layer the stamped white banner onto the longer gold banner using seal adhesive or glue dots from the kit. Then add this combo to the smaller banner with Dimensionals from the kit, And attach to the front of the card next to the knot of the ribbon.
Stamp the words “grateful for you” on the longer white banner piece from the kit.
Add the smaller laser cut gold foliage, the die cut leaves, and the banner to the inside of the card using Seal Adhesive, glue dots from the kit, and/or Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Card #2 – Split Window Card
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Pool Party Cardstock
5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side at 2-3/4″ and 4-1/4″
Card base layer from the kit
2-3/4″ x 5-1/2″
Early Espresso Cardstock
2-3/8″ punched circle
Directions…
Position the folded Pool Party card base with the extra score line on the front. Then stamp “with love & gratitude” multiple times horizontally and staggered to fill in that 1-1/2” wide section between the left edge and the score line on the front of the card. This part will take a while, but it’s so fun to see the end result. You could use a stamp positioner if you want the words to look perfect. But I did not on mine.
Use a ruler/straight-edge and the Early Espresso marker to draw a line along the score line on the front of the card.
Open up the card base and position the 2-3/8” Circle Punch so it’s coming in from the top of the card. Line up the edge of the punch with the fold line of the card. The line of the marker should be running down the middle of the circle. With the punch positioned all the way in and lined up, punch the circle from the Pool Party card base.
Stamp the leaves image a couple times on the bottom right corner of the kit card base layer. Adhere this to the front right section of the card base. Then line up the circle punch again in the same spot and punch to remove the half circle of the kit card base layer.
Fold along that front score line. Then added adhesive under the 1-1/2” wide section on the left. And connect to adhere.
Add the Early Espresso circle inside the punched out circle area while also tucking under and adhering gold leaf pieces under the right side (which will be showing on the inside of the card when open).
Add the die-cut pumpkin to the middle of the Early Espresso circle with Dimensionals while also tucking under and adhering gold leaf pieces under the left side.
Open the card again and stamp the words “thank you.”
These first images below show how I stamped the words on the front of the card AND that I cut the gold laser cut leaves down into multiple pieces. (I actually cut them down smaller than this. But this photo just shows how I got started.)
It’s so fun how opening the card still allows you to see the full circle centerpiece.
I hope I inspired your creativity with what I shared today! If you did not get this kit, I hope you can apply these ideas to products you already own.

I’m up for the challenge of running my paper crafting business without my dominant hand! 🤣
As I mentioned above I had surgery yesterday morning to repair the tear in my sagittal band on my right hand middle finger. I ruptured it by trying to stretch my hand in two different directions at the same time. And surgery was the best way to possibly gain full recovery.
So please be patient with me. I may not respond to every e-mail, notification, post, comment, etc…especially if they were meant for me to just read. My blog posts maybe a bit shorter, and there may be larger gaps in time in my sharing or in my responding that I need to do. Thank you for all your well wishes, your prayers, and your comments that bring a smile to my face. I appreciate your support. ❤️

Here are the cards the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
I’ve already shared a bunch of other alternate projects using the contents of this kit on August 23rd and another card on August 30th. Be sure to check those out.
Today I am sharing…
A simple take on the lily pad card
And a Pop Out Standing Step Card.
This first card is super easy to make.
It’s a slight variation to the kit’s intended design and uses just a little bit of extra product.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Lily pad layer from the kit
3-7/8″ x 4-1/8″
Basic White Cardstock
4″ x 4-1/4″
Directions…
Stamp the inside sentiment about 3/4″ from the top. Stamp the outside sentiment on the lily pad.
Cut the two layers above, then layer them. Then add these layered pieces to the front of the card using Dimensionals from the kit.
Add the flower/lily pad piece to the front of the card using Dimensionals.
Embellish with sequins using tiny drops of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
After that dries open up the card and add the vellum lily pad layer with the thin Tear & Tape Adhesive from the kit.
Super simple, right? I like it better than the kit version of this card though. I guess I’d rather use that vellum for cash or a gift card and have it on the inside where the gift stays safe.
This next card is more challenging.
But if you studied the card I shared yesterday, then this one will be pretty easy to follow. It’s the same fold…it’s a Pop Out Standing Step Card.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Envelope paper from the kit
4″ x 10″ (cut and scored according the directions below)
Bubble Bath 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon
12″
Directions…
Stamp the sentiment at the top area of the 4″ x 5-1/4″ lily pad layer from the kit. Stamp a sentiment on the back if you wish.
Now let’s make the steps. The two “step” sections in the front act as a base for the card.
Trim 7/8″ off each side of the kit envelope to make it 4″ wide and to open it up.
Keeping the envelope folded a bit trim that front section down to 3-1/2″ inches which will remove the rounded edge there. This paper should now be 4″ x 10″.
Now turn the envelope paper in the other direction and cut at 4″. This will give you a 4″ x 4″ piece with a score/fold at 1/2″. Add three more score lines at 1-1/4″, 2-1/4″, and 3″
With the other 4″ x 6″ piece, start at the rounded edge and score at 3/4″, 2-3/4″, 3-1/2″, and 5-1/2″
This image just illustrates where the cuts and scores would be.
Now fold those pieces along the score marks (ignore the extra one that is there that you didn’t add) to start forming the steps. Use the Bone Folder if you wish to reinforce those folds.
Add a strip of Tear and Tape from the kit as shown.
Then overlap and connect. It’s best to connect when the pieces are flattened.
Position the step pieces as shown. and add them together and then to the base of the 4″ x 5-1/4″ lily pad layer.
Add the vellum layer to the front.
Then wrap and tie on the ribbon.
And attach the flower/lily pad piece.
This card can stretch in one direction and can appear very tall.
But it can also squash down in the other direction. The flower will dip in and hide a bit. But folding the card this way allows it to fit into an envelope.
I hope I inspired your creativity with what I shared today! If you did not get this kit, I hope you can apply these ideas to products you already own.
If you are not a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, I invite you to give it a try. CLICK HERE to learn more. CLICK HERE to sign up by September 10th for this next kit…

Today I have some Frameless Clear Front Shaker Cards to share with you!
I big thank you to Lisa Marshall for this card she gifted me which inspired the creating that I did for my cards.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating these cards using Clear Envelopes, sequins, the Winter Meadow Suite of products (Magical Meadow Stamps & Dies, Silver & White Sheer Ribbon, Winter Meadow Designer Paper), and other coordinating Stampin’ Up!® product. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.

US BACK-TO-SCHOOL SALES TAX HOLIDAY Thirteen states and Puerto Rico are offering a sales tax holiday for school supplies during the months of July, August, or September. Products that are eligible according to the statute include “items normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes.” To see the names of participating states, products exempted from tax, and sales tax holiday dates 2023 Tax Holiday spreadsheet here. If you want to get in on the tax holiday, you must place your order with Stampin’ Up! during the tax holiday period in order to receive these items tax-free (which is midnight on the first day to midnight on the last day of the tax holiday). Also, keep in mind that this is a state sales tax holiday; the state statute may not apply to county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.
I received my August 2023 Meaningful Flowers Paper Pumpkin monthly kit on Saturday (the 17th…which is early for me!) and found some time to create alternate projects with the kit contents on Monday morning. It’s been busy around here, so I enjoyed getting back in my studio to create for a few hours.
These are the supplies that came in the August kit. If you were to make the cards based on the kit’s directions, you would get 8 cards total (4 of 2 designs).
Right away, I put together some scrapbook pages. I also created 6 greeting cards with the supplies from the two different kit cards. They are simple but eye-catching ideas that I hope you’ll enjoy. I shared my tips, measurements, and directions for all of them in a live broadcast today (see link below). Even if you didn’t get this kit, I hope these ideas I shared can be applied to other products you own and inspire your creativity!
Watch my video first by clicking here to get the measurements, directions, and tips (or you can just click on the image below if you are already in my blog post). Scroll down to see close-up photos, access the links that I mentioned in my video, and see a list of the extra supplies (linked to my online store) I used to make my projects. Then be sure to visit my blog again soon, because I’ll have more alternate projects with this kit that I’ll be sharing on September 8th.
Here are the cards the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)

#APaperPumpkinThing Welcome to our monthly APPT blog hop to showcase Paper Pumpkin kit alternate projects! This time we are highlighting the July 2023 Fun In the SunPaper Pumpkin kit. See what I have to share. Then check out all the other blogs in the hop for additional creative ideas my fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator friends shared. (If you are receiving this blog post by email, click HERE to see the hop.)
Here are the cards the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
I’ve already shared some other alternate projects using the contents of this kit on July 23rd and on July 28th.
Several alternate cards (including one that opens up to become a night light and two inspired by one of the ideas on the back of the direction pamphlet)
And a couple bridge-fold cards.
Today I am sharing…
A faker shaker card (also inspired by one of the ideas on the back of the direction pamphlet)
And a scrapbook page layout.
A faker shaker is fairly simple to make.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Daffodil Delight Cardstock
5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4″
Basic White Cardstock
(2) 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″
Kit Envelope (for the blue water layer)
1-1/2″ x 5-3/8″
Directions…
Die-cut a “cloud” border to create a mask. After stamping the sun image in the upper corner, use a Blending Brush (starting towards the top) and the mask to create the clouds.
Continue to mask and blend to form the clouds.
Put the finished image into the Clear Envelope. Add some Shaker Circles on top of the image.
Tape the excess down on the back side and seal the envelope shut to keep the circles from escaping.
Attach this to the front of the folded card base using Tear & Tape Adhesive along all four sides.
Then add the blue envelope layer and the umbrella layer (also trimmed to 5-3/8″ wide) with Seal Adhesive. Then add the stamped sentiment banner with Dimensionals.
Decorate the inside layer the same way if you wish.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Basic White Cardstock
(2) 12″ x 12″
Basic Black Cardstock
(4) 4″ x 6″
(4) 4″ x 4″
(2) 3-1/2″ x 4″
More Dazzle Specialty Paper
(2) 1/4″ x 4″
1/4″ x 3-1/2″
1/4″ x 6″
Melon Mambo Cardstock
Scraps for die-cutting letters
Flirty Flamingo Cardstock
Scraps for die-cutting letters
Tips…
For the left page, cut the card base from kit to 3-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Place that piece, the 3-1/2″ wide coordinating kit images, the black photo mats, and the More Dazzle strips onto the 12×12 base to space them evenly. Then attach them.
The boat layer in the middle and the palm tree layer at the bottom are added with Dimensionals.
The boat layer covers the 5/8″ gap between the beach layer and the sunset layer.
Multipurpose Liquid Glue works great for attaching the More Dazzle strips.
For the right page, die-cut the title twice – once in each color. Cut about 5/8″ from the bottom of the Flirty Flamingo letters and attach these pieces to the tops of the Mango Melody letters using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Cut the card base from kit to 2″ x 8-1/2″. Place that piece, the black photo mats, and the More Dazzle strips onto the 12×12 base to space them evenly. Then attach them.
Add the other images and add the kit sequins.
Then add the page title.
I hope I inspired your creativity with what I shared today! If you did not get this kit, I hope you can apply these ideas to products you already own.
