My annual Silver Elite Retreat took place last weekend. This is an special event for those in my Stampers With ART group who are at the Silver Elite title or higher. To be Silver Elite, a demonstrator must have at least $7,200 US in rolling 12-month sales and five direct team members with at least one of them holding the title of Silver* or more.
This year instead of going to my parents’ cabin, I hosted it at my house in Andover, MN and my mom came here to help me put it on. My husband and my boys left to enjoy a guys’ weekend away at a hotel in Saint Paul so that us six paper crafters could make use of the entire house. It worked out well. We had space for everyone to sleep, all my tools and extra supplies were on hand, the crafting area was well-lit, and I could even photograph projects afterwards using the space in my studio.
Vy was the only one who lived quite a distance away. She flew in Thursday early afternoon. She’s been to Minnesota before and didn’t desire to shop the Mall of America or anything. So we basically just hung out at the house all day. It was super cold outside anyway.
On Friday we ventured out to a local bakery/sandwich shop called Krown Bakery in Anoka. They have very tasty gluten-free desserts. So we each had a sandwich and a treat.
By about 3:00 PM on Friday Cheryl, Nancy and Kayla had arrived. And my guys (now home from school and done with work) were out the door. It was fun to catch up and we talked for quite some time. I also gave everyone their bag of make-n-take supplies and gifts (see below for what they received).
Everyone settled into and unpacked, we had dinner and then we dove into our projects. It was fun to see the looks on their faces when I informed them we were making 20 cards in one evening. But there was relief when they saw that those cards were quick and easy creations with the Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Cards and Cards/Envelopes. In the end, there were close to 100 completed cards on the kitchen island! I will share my 20 cards (and some of the variations these gals came up with) on my blog sometime next week.
Vy really got creative with her cards (the unicorn pjs helped!) and even used the new Glass Mat Studio and hobby blade to give her butterfly wings a bit of a lift.
I bought and provided TOO much food. We were never without and had lots of leftovers (which my family is still working on). This is a photo of the food we had out for lunch on Saturday.
Crafting was a majority of the retreat weekend. But we also laughed a lot and shared ideas with each other…creative and business. Kayla taught me how to set up break out rooms for Zoom AND she showed me how to create logo wear. You may see some of that appearing on the shop section of my blog soon! Hahaha
Saturday we worked on the more time-consuming cards. Above is Cheryl, Kayla and Nancy. And below is me, my mom and Vy. These photos were taken when we put together Outside-In Fun Fold card with products in the Forever Love Suite. For those of you who catch my weekly free Online Paper Crafting Classes on YouTube or Facebook, these are the cards I’ll be sharing how to make this Wednesday, January 31st. Hope you can tune in!
During this retreat we each made:
A Star Column Card that we made with the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle and some Perennial Lavender Designer Paper – cards that I shared a few days ago on January 22nd. (Be sure to check them out.)
Two Outside-In Fun Fold cards that I’ll share this week on Wednesday.
And two other cards with this Forever Love Suite that I’ll share soon after.
Taco night is a tradition now. I think we’ve had tacos at every Silver Elite Retreat since we first started these in February of 2018 (this year is our 7th annual). It’s Cheryl’s favorite meal, she has been at every retreat, and what’s not to love about tacos?!
With the trip my son and I took out to Los Angeles, I didn’t have a lot of time to make a lot of things for the girls’ gifts, but I DID get these stamped invitations out in the mail in late December/early January.
Of course I had to use my favorite stamp set, Layering Leaves for the imagery and front sentiment. I paired this with the new Layered Florals Embossing Folder for the Basic White Cardstock layer, some Vellum Cardstock along the left edge and within the punched leaves, some Gold Foil cut with the Stylish Shapes positioned under the 2″ punched sentiment circle, and some Pretty Peacock/Gold Ribbon and Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems. (See below for a visual list for these supplies linked to my online store.)
Here are the iridescent bags of gifts I gave to each of my achieving demonstrators.
Their make-n-take materials were within. And then of course all the other goodies!…
Cheryl Lee’s bag:
Nancy Forsberg’s (and Kayla Cory’s) bag:
And Vy Tran’s bag:
They each received iridescent embellishments (foiled gems, pearls, rhinestones, and flat backed pearls) individually wrapped in iridescent bags tied with a bit of Glittered Organdy Ribbon, a Clear Block D etched with their name and the event info, a couple sponges, a notebook of black 9×12 sketch paper and a white marker (that can write on smooth surfaces and paper) that I purchased in Norway, a black reflective photo board, a couple of iridescent drinking glasses, Holographic Foil Paper (not pictured), their favorite bag of chips, and a custom made 3D printed business card holder with their business logo design on the front (made by James and Ashley at The Country Hive).
I got one, too!!! Here are the four business card holders up close.
As always, it was an amazing weekend with amazing people and memories to last a lifetime! I’m already excited for next year and thinking of other ways to spoil my achievers.

I have my January 2024 Lovely Lavender Paper Pumpkin kit in hand, and I’m ready to demonstrate for you my first set of alternate projects that I’ve created!
For those of you not familiar with our kits, they come with all the supplies you need AND directions for assembling the kit cards/projects as designed. Here are the intended cards/projects designed for this January 2024 Lovely Lavender Paper Pumpkin kit. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
But I like to take the supplies from the kits and create other things…think outside the box. This way I can show how to stretch the kits in new ways. A kit that you may have not been a fan of might all of a sudden be more attractive (or a favorite) because of a new way of using the supplies!
And I’m sharing my first alternates with you today. Even if you didn’t get this kit, I hope the ideas I share can be applied to other products you own, and I hope what I share inspires your creativity!
Watch my video first by clicking here to get the measurements, directions, and tips (or you can just click on the image below if you are already in my blog post). Scroll down to see close-up photos, access the links that I mentioned in my video, and see a list of extra supplies (linked to my online store) that I used to make everything.
Here are close-up photos of the alternate cards I made and shared in my video. (Remember to watch first to get measurements, tips and directions.)
Star Column Pedestal Card…
Torn Border Cards…
Shaker Valentine Card…
I hope you enjoyed what I shared today! Again…if you did not get this kit, I hope you can apply these ideas to products you already own.

I spent this past weekend hosting my annual Silver Elite Retreat for a few demonstrators in my Stampers With ART group. These demonstrators (titled at Silver Elite or higher) work hard to earn their title, so I like to spoil them a little bit. I’ll share photos and more details from this event soon. But today I thought I’d share one of the make-n-take cards from our weekend event.
It’s another Star Column Card! It’s put together in a similar way as those I demonstrated on 1/17/24. But this time I used the Perennial Lavender Designer Paper to accent the panels of the Basic White Cardstock base. I also used the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle to create the main images on the front and back of the card.
Measurements…
Basic White Cardstock
(2) 5-1/2” x 11” scored parallel to the short at ½”, 1 ½”, 2 ½”, 3 ½”, 4 ½”, 5 ½”, 6 ½”, 7 ½”, 8 ½”, 9 ½” and 10 ½” for the card base
1” x 5 ½” for the connecting piece
2″ Circle for the back
3/4″ x 2-1/2″ for the sentiment strip
Scrap for die-cutting the ice cream swirl base
Scrap for stamping and die-cutting the ice cream cone
Perennial Lavender Designer Paper (pattern for panels)
(12) 7/8″ x 5-3/8″
(2) 1/2” x 1-1/2” scored halfway at 3/4″ for connecting the sentiment circle to the card
(2) 2” x 1-1/2” scored halfway at 3/4” for connecting the cone to the card
Perennial Lavender Designer Paper (pattern for ice cream)
Scrap for die-cutting the ice cream swirl
Cardstock in two other coordinating colors
Scraps for die-cutting the ice cream swirls
After assembling the card base, I cut the strips of Perennial Lavender Designer Paper. I kept the strips in order then attached them to the 12 panels of the card base so the design was continuous and flowed well.
I attached the purple die-cut designer paper ice cream swirl to the white ice cream base. Then I filled in the spaces with die-cut pieces from a couple other coordinating cardstock colors (Blackberry Bliss and Highland Heather in this case).
I stamped the cone with Crumb Cake ink. After die-cutting, I used a Blending Brush to add more Crumb Cake ink near the edges of the image to create shading and the look of depth. I adhered these together. Then I added the sentiment strip with Dimensionals.
For the strip, I punched each end with the Banners Pick a Punch. I inked up the sentiment with Blackberry Bliss ink, lighted the ink of the top half with a dauber, exhaled on the ink to re-moisten it, stamped the image on the strip, and then painted on Wink of Stella to the tops of the letters.
(For the sentiment on the 2″ circle on the back, I did the same thing but lightened the ink on the bottom instead of the top.)
Then I connected this circle and the cone in the same way I did with my other front and back elements on the other Star Column cards I shared on 1/17/24.
And I finished by embellishing the card with a few gems.
Just like those I shared before…this card can fold flat and fit into Stampin’ Up!’s medium A2 size envelope.
This is another version I made with a different pattern from the designer paper pack and a different color combo for the ice cream.
And here are photos of three finished cards from a few who attended the retreat this weekend. All of them added Wink of Stella to their ice cream (which looks much better in person…it didn’t photo very well).
Those who made the cards are named in the watermark of each photo.
I’d love to see YOUR version of this fun fold. Join my Facebook Group and post your card so you can share your creativity and inspire others.

I put together seven cards with the supplies of three from the Painted Wishes Kit from the Kits Collection and thought I’d share with you my variations so that you too can do the same and expand your whole kit of nine cards to get twenty-one altogether.
This kit does not contain a stamp set. The sentiments come pre-printed. Because of that you are limited to nine sentiment labels unless you choose to use more than one language (the kit has 9 labels in each of these languages: English, French, German, and Dutch). So what I did was supplement with sentiment imagery from the Layering Leaves stamp set. And I used the extra labels in different ways…stamping on the backsides or covering the words with other pieces.
If you decide to follow the kit directions, you can assemble these 9 cards shown below: three each of these three designs. They are pretty, right? But again…I’ll be sharing how I took the pieces and spread them out a bit more to make more than double the amount of cards.
Here are my seven made from the supplies of three. AND the designs are still very simple. There are no fancy folds, no techniques, no tricks or anything that requires much concentration.
Let’s start with these first designs. Now to remind you, I’m sharing seven cards that I made with the supplies of the three different kit cards. So if you want to expand the whole kit to get twenty-one total, just multiply my amounts in the measurements by three.
One card has the pre-printed Pretty Peacock circle sentiment. The other one used a sentiment circle stamped on the back side with Pretty Peacock ink.
Measurements…
Pretty Peacock Cardstock
(2) 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4″
Floral kit card layer
(2) 2-1/8″ x 5-1/2″ (just cut the front half of the kit card in half)
White kit card layer
(2) 2-3/4″ x 4-1/4″ (just cut the back half of the kit card in half)
Both sentiment circles were added with Dimensionals. And then I embellished with Pretty Peacock self-adhesive sequins from the kit. (If you need more, you can get some in the Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio which I added to the supply list below.)
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
The next two cards look like this.
Measurements…
Pretty Peacock Cardstock
(2) 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored parallel to the short side at 5-1/2″
Floral envelope layer
(2) 4″ x 4-3/8″
White envelope layer
(2) 3-3/8″ x 4-1/2″
Gold Cord
(2) 11″
Lemon Lime Twist kit layer
(2) First cut to just under 1-5/8″ x 3-1/4″ then punch on each end
My non-English sentiment labels were added horizontally with Dimensionals after I had taped the Gold Cord on the underside so the curls were sticking out. Then I stamped the Lemon Lime Twist* punched labels (see measurements above) with Pretty Peacock ink and added them with Dimensionals. I embellished a bit more with gold sequins which you can get from either the Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins or the Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins.
*If this is too much green for you, you can stamp on the white side instead.
The last three cards look like this. The one in the bottom right has almost the same measurements and is assembled the same as the cards above. So I’ll share those card measurements first.
Measurementsfor the bottom right card…
Pretty Peacock Cardstock
4-1/4″ x 11″ scored parallel to the short side at 5-1/2″
Floral envelope layer
1-3/4″ x 4-1/4″
White envelope layer
3-3/8″ x 4-1/2″
Gold Cord
11″
Lemon Lime Twist kit layer
First cut to just under 1-5/8″ x 3-1/4″ then punch on each end
The other two are assembled almost like the original kit cards with just a few differences.
Measurementsfor the top right card…
Petal Pink kit card base
5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4″
Floral kit card layer
3-7/8″ x 4-3/4″
Gold Cord
11″
Lemon Lime Twist kit layer
The leftover piece (about 3/16″ x 3-3/8″)
I first attached the the Lemon Lime Twist strip to the bottom of the sentiment piece with tape. After adding this sentiment strip to the card front with Dimensionals, I added a bow of Gold Cord with Glue Dot from the kit and embellished with a few Pretty Peacock sequins.
Measurementsfor the left card…
Pretty Peacock kit card base
5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4″
Floral kit card layer
3-7/8″ x 5-1/16″
This was the simplest card to put together. The sentiment label was added with Dimensionals. And I added three Pretty Peacock sequins.
So again if you wish to expand the number of cards you can get from this kit, just add some extra cardstock and envelopes, a few extra sequins, some stamped words from one of your favorite stamp set, and some tools for creating.
Because this kit doesn’t include a stamp set and ink (it has preprinted sentiments) you are not paying for any extra supplies that you won’t use by getting more than one. So feel free to purchase a bunch! 😉
I hope I inspired your creativity.

I just recently started noticing a special fun fold card out there shared by a few different paper crafters on YouTube. And I decided I wanted to design a simpler flatter version that would fit into the medium (A2 size) envelopes that Stampin’ Up!® offers. I wanted it flatter so that it could possibly even be mailed with a one-ounce stamp. AND I wanted it simpler so it would be quicker to put together.
Well I’m proud to say I did it! My version is made from two long sheets of designer paper and is 4” x 5-1/2” when flattened to enclose in an envelope! So there is no more need to create six individual diamond-shaped sections that need to be glued together.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating these Star Column cards with the Most Adored Designer Paper (available only for a limited time), the Heartfelt Hexagon Stamp Set & coordinating punch, and other Stampin’ Up!® product. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.

The card I put together to share with you today shows off the beauty of this set by making it a strong focal point on the card. Not only is the image standing within a triple-layered white circle, but the embellishments (ribbon and rhinestones) draw your eyes in. And then I made sure to ink the Distinktive image carefully with both colors (see tips below).
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Directions
First test your inks with the stamp image. As you can see in my 12/13/23 “product peeks” video around the 1:04:40 mark, I found that my Shaded Spruce ink was pretty perfectly inked. I was able to ink that half of the image directly with the pad lining up the base of the ground with the edge of the pad. But my Misty Moonlight ink pad was a bit juicier. So I applied that blue color afterwards with a Dauber.
Remoisten the ink on the stamp by exhaling onto it. Then stamp the two-toned image onto your scrap of Basic White and punch it out with the 2-3/8″ Circle Punch.
Die-cut the 2-1/2″ and 3″ stitched circles using the Stylish Shapes Dies.
Stamp the sentiment images inside the base card piece. Using Seal Adhesive adhere the designer paper to the front, the largest stitched circle on top of that (about 1″ from the base and 1/4″ in from the right of the designer paper layer), and the Night of Navy strip (so it passes horizontally through the middle of the circle).
Wrap the long ribbon from the inside of the card across the front (over the top of the navy strip), and tape the ends down in the center of the large circle with a couple pieces of Tear & Tape.
Adhere with Seal or Tear & Tape the shorter two strands of ribbon so they go beyond the white circle. Trim the ends at angles.
Conceal all the taped ribbon ends by adding the medium 2-1/2″ stitched circle on top of the larger one using Dimensionals. Attach the stamped circle to the 2-1/2″ one. Be sure the horizon runs parallel to the top and bottom edges of the card and parallel to the navy strip.
Finish by adding a few Rhinestones.
This is one of those sets that I will keep in my collection forever. I love all the sentiment options. And the imagery is just stunning. I hope you were inspired by what I shared.
