Have you tried the Blackout Embossing technique yet? I’m seeing lots of great cards out there featuring these amazing background layers created with inks and 3D embossing folders. So I of course had to try it out, play around, and created a couple finished cards for you to see
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook a few hours ago step-by-step directions for creating these backgrounds and cards with the Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder, the Layering Leaves Stamp Set, the Fern 3D Embossing Folder, the Unbounded Love Stamp Set, the Spotlight on Nature Dies, and more! And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.
Below are measurements and close-up photos for the Layered Florals card that I demonstrated. I’ll share the details for the Fern fun-fold card Friday or Saturday.
See below for a complete list of products that I shared in the video. Most are linked to where you can find them in my online store. But some are not available until 5/1/24. So no links are available for them yet.
Click here to access and download a printable “measurements & supplies” sheet for the Layered Leaves card.

I’m sharing a couple days later than usual, but I have my first set of Paper Pumpkin alternate project ideas from this month’s kit ready to show you!
For those of you not familiar with these kits, they come with all the supplies you need AND directions for assembling the kit cards/projects as designed. Here are the intended cards designed for this March 2024 Memorable Meadows Paper Pumpkin kit. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
I like to take the supplies from the kits and create other things. I like to think outside the box. This way I can show how to stretch the kits in new ways. A kit that you may have not been a fan of might all of a sudden be more attractive (or a favorite) because of a new way of using the supplies!
And I’m sharing my first alternates with you today. Even if you didn’t get this kit, I hope the ideas I share can be applied to other products you own, and I hope what I share inspires your creativity!
Watch my video first by clicking here to get the measurements, directions, and tips (or you can just click on the image below if you are already in my blog post). Scroll down to see close-up photos, access the links that I mentioned in my video, and see a list of extra supplies (linked to my online store) that I used to make everything.
Here are close-up photos of the alternate cards/projects I made and shared in my video. (Remember to watch first to get measurements, tips and directions.)
Quintupling the Kit…
These four are made from one of the kit card bases.
These four are made from another one of the kit card bases.
These four are made from the third kit card base.
These three are made from three of the kit envelopes.
Multiply these 15 cards by 3 (since there are 3 sets of 3 cards that come in this kit) to get 45 cards total! I doubted my math in the Live video, but after double checking,…yep. You will get 45 from the supplies of 9. Way fun, right?!
A Bonus Simple Card idea using the Extra Stamp Set…
I love the results of embossing on the purple vellum. And if you have white cardstock leftover after making your 45 cards above, you might as well make more pretty cards.
The Adorable Ghirardelli Chocolate Square Treat Holder…
I hope you enjoyed what I shared today! Again…if you did not get this kit, I hope you can apply these ideas to products you already own.

Today I’m sharing another card idea featuring the Flowering Zinnias Designer Paper. It’s a simple, but stunning card when you have they right patterned paper. And the new Flowering Zinnias is an ideal choice with its mixture of bright, colorful florals and more subtle, but still bright “background” prints.
I paired the paper layers with Basic White Memories & More Cards & Envelopes, images from either the Charming Sentiments or Layering Leaves Stamp Sets, and the coordinating Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins. Interested in shopping? See below for a complete list of products I used linked to where you can find them all in my online store.
The front base layer is the smaller Memories & More envelope.
The inside acts as a pocket for a gift card, a note, money, etc.
These cards were one of the make-n-take we made at our team event I helped host on the last night of OnStage in Houston last weekend.
Let me share with you how easy they are to put together. For each card you need a small envelope, a small card base, a large envelope (for gifting or mailing), and a large card base.
First cut the card bases each in half.
Set the large envelope and one of the large card base halves aside for now. Then put your other pieces (along with the designer paper layers) in this order:
other large card base half
4″ x 6″ piece of designer paper
small card base half
small envelope
other small card base half
and 3″ x 4″ piece of designer paper.
Connect the first three (large card base half, 4″ x 6″ piece of designer paper, and small card base half) as shown. Connect the last two (other small card base half and 3″ x 4″ piece of designer paper) as shown. Punch the inside of the small envelope to make a half circle allowing more ease for adding/removing the gift card.
Add Dimensionals to the backside of the smaller layered piece. Stamp a sentiment onto the unused second large card base half, punch it out, and add Dimensionals to the back. Add adhesive to the inside of the small envelope flap.
Stamp the inside sentiment.
Using the inside layer as a guide, line up and attach the small envelope so the flap wraps around and attaches in the back.
Close the card and add the front layer and the punched out sentiment piece. Then finish by embellishing with sequins.
Here are two more card designs. The outside…
…and inside.
And here are the last two designs I’ve put together.
It was fun to see all the combinations everyone came up with at the team event last Saturday. I wish I would’ve taken photos.
It’s an easy card design for a card-making event, if you are making gift sets of cards, or if you just need a lot of cards yourself. And it’s cost efficient, because every piece of every sheet is used up if cut in this way:
4 of the double-sided sheets (2 of each for 8 sheets) cut into 4″ x 6″ layers = 48 pieces
2 of the double-sided sheets (2 of each for 4 sheets) cut into 3″ x 4″ layers = 48 pieces
Then just mix and match the designs…48 total cards can be made from one pack of designer paper!

We have two beautiful new sets of designer paper: Flowering Zinnias & A Little Latte. They are featured in the Online Exclusives. And both sets of papers are parts of Suite Collections. In other words, they are matched up with other products to make coordination easy: Flowering Zinnias Suite & A Little Latte Suite
I do not own all the products in these two suites. But I wanted to make some fun cards with the paper. I first designed with the Flowering Zinnias paper to make cards for my team members attending OnStage. And after making several, I applied the same design pattern to the imagery and patterns in the A Little Latte paper.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating these Tucked Insert Fun Fold Cards using these papers, the Ringed With Nature & Happy Labels Stamp Sets, a few punches, and a bit of other coordinating Stampin’ Up!® products. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products lists below, and then let me know if you have any questions.

Here are photos of the finished Flowering Zinniascards along with the Bone Folder gift tag and the version of the card I made for my team members that attended OnStage.
It took a bit of fussy cutting for all the cards I made, but I was able to get 30 cards from one pack since that’s how many usuable flowers I could cut and use (15 per sheet).
I had personalized Bone Folders made for each team member. They were etched by Tamra Davis at TaDa Moments. The butterfly stickers are from my own Logo Stickers. I don’t sell them. But you wouldn’t really need them.
I typed up what I wanted to say on my computer, adjusted and formatted, printed everything off, and cut it all to size (or punched it) to fit on my tags and in my cards.
Here are photos of the six finished A Little Lattecards.
I hope you enjoyed what I shared today!

I’m still in Houston at Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage convention, but prerecorded an instructional video for how to more than double the cards you can get from the Panda Friends card kit. It’s such a fun kit with bright colors and playful images!
Panda Friends made it’s debut in the Kits Collection in early January. It’s a non-stamping kit, so it doesn’t come with stamps and ink…just consumables. So already at $14 US it’s quite affordable to purchase more than one if have the desire to make several cards with it. But I thought, why not change up the designs a bit to share options. And all of a sudden with just the addition of some Basic Black Cardstock, ribbon, envelopes and extra sentiments from outside stamp set images, I came up with designs that shifted this kit of 8 cards to a kit of 20 cards.
I thought it would be more fun to explain how to put these cards together in video format. So today I have for you a bonus Online Paper Crafting Class.
Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.
I hope you enjoyed what I shared in this video. Below are measurements, close-up photos, and a complete list of products (linked to where you can find them in my online store) that I used in my demonstration. Visit Stampin’ Up!’s Kit Collection by clicking here.
Click here to access and download a printable “measurements & supplies” sheet.
Measurements for the extra supplies needed to make 20 cards…
Basic Black Cardstock
(8) 4-1/4” x 11″ scored parallel to the short side at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2”
(8) 5-1/2” x 8” scored parallel to the short side in at 4-1/4”
(4) 5-1/2” x 5-1/4” scored parallel to the long side at 4-1/4”
Black & White 1/4″ Gingham Ribbon
(8) 14″
(8) 5-1/2″
(4) 16″ for knots or 21″ for tying bows
Here are photos of my finished cards. Remember in the video I share how to change the supplies from the two different “kit cards” into five. Then doing this with the other three sets of “kit cards,” you will end up with 20. So you won’t see all 20 below…just the variations AND some options if you decide to change things up.
These are the easel cards. You can get these two designs. from cutting up the 8-1/2″ wide slimline card into four pieces.
This is the card that shows off both sides of the pretty paper layer.
Remember you can flip over that inner panel to have a green layer or a polka-dot blue layer.
And these are the other two of the five designs.
The green layers can be wider or narrower.
And the stamp set I used for the additional images (Perennial Postage) has many sentiments that will work with the different layouts of these cards. This is just an example of the ones that fit into this hexagonal window of the pink cards.
If you run out of that gingham ribbon, you can use other. I grabbed up my Silver & White Sheer Ribbon for the remainder of my cards.
Because I DID end up creating all 20 cards after recording my video.
I hope you enjoyed what I shared! If you love cute animal imagery OR are a panda bear fan (or know of others who are), you’ll want to grab up this kit. Remember online-only products like the kits from the Kits Collection and the Online Exclusives are available while supplies last.

I shared two cards recently using the Layering Leaves Stamp Set images in unique and creative ways. The “flower on a stump easel card” I shared on March 10th. And the “bunny & carrots card” I shared on March 12. I knew I wanted to share one of them for today’s pre-recorded Wednesday Online Paper Crafting Class (I’m in Houston at a Stampin’ Up!® convention right now), but I couldn’t decide between the two cards. So I decided to share both in the video and then posts previews, measurements, and supply lists beforehand.
Either one of these is much easier to share directions, tips and tricks in video format. So I’m glad I did it this way. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post). Then visit my March 10th and March 12th posts to scroll through the close-up photos, access the measurements & supply lists, and even download the reference PDF sheets.
