Welcome to our monthly APPT blog hop to showcase our July 2024Painted PetalsPaper Pumpkin kit alternate projects! See what I have to share. Then check out all the other blogs in the hop for additional creative ideas that my fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator friends shared.*
For those of you not familiar with these kits, they get delivered straight to your mailbox in the months of your choice. Inside are all the supplies you need AND the directions for assembling the kit cards/projects designed. Here are the intended cards designed for this July 2024 kit. (Click here for Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
I’ve already shared some other alternate projects using the contents of this kit on July 24th. Be sure to visit to see the gift boxes and cards I created.
Today my projects include a variation on one of those boxes, two different types of fun-fold cards, and a scrapbook page layout. Lots of stuff, right? So instead of writing out the details for each of these, I’ve recorded videos to share the details for them. You’ll want to view those videos because they will include variations of the ones in the photos below!

Welcome to our All Star monthly blog hop for the Mediterranean Blooms Suite! We are excited to share even MORE ideas than what we are offering in our exclusive Video Class Bundle this month. I’ve created this “all the love” card using the Citrus Blooms Stamps and Dies, the Distressed Tile Embossing Folder (which coordinates really well with the tile images in the paper from this suite), heat embossing for the sentiments, a Blending Brush for a touch of color on the dry embossed tile layer, and Garden Green embellishments and leaves.
You’ll want to emboss the front white layer first to give it texture, and then use a Blending Brush to apply just a little Pool Party ink in the lower right section. Then using VersaMark ink, stamp the outside sentiment onto a scrap of Basic Black Cardstock and the inside sentiment onto another scrap of Basic Black Cardstock. Add white Basics Wow! Embossing Powder and heat to set. Then punch out the sentiments, die-cut the leaves, and assemble the card.

The front sentiment circle is connected directly the the largest set of leaves and added with Dimensionals. The two other large branches of leaves are adhered directly to the embossed layer. Remember to add the Blooming Pearls along the right edge too.
Here is what the inside looks like. I just LOVE white sentiments on black backgrounds. The contrast is stunning!

how I altered the supplies from the Garden of Thanks Kits Collection kit to get double the cards by just adding extra cardstock and a few other Stampin’ Up!® products. And half of the cards are Accordion Fun Fold cards! Y
Did you know that two new kits are released into Stampin’ Up!’s Kits Collection each month? One of the latest kit releases is the Garden of Thanks Kit. The colors, imagery, and designs are quite pretty to help one say thanks in the most beautiful way.
If following the kit directions, this kit creates three each of three different cards (you can see these layouts from the photo above). For my alternates (because I like to make something other than what the kit was intended to make) I “doubled the kit.”
I took the supplies for the three different kit cards, cut them into pieces, added in extra cardstock, and produced six cards – 3 regular and 3 accordion fun fold card! By doing this with the other card supplies, one could make 18 cards from the nine kit cards doubling the cards you can get from this Kits Collection kit.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating these cards. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. I want to thank fellow demonstrator Kevin Theesen from Kreations by Kevin for the inspiration for 2 of today’s cards. I was a guest presenter for an event he had earlier this summer. There were lots of inspiring demonstrations, but his fun Full of Life “doodle” cards stuck with me and I couldn’t wait to try this idea. Thanks Kevin!
This first one is very similar to the look he added to his cards. He drew on squiggly line doodles to accent the decorative designs of the paper. Ta da! Isn’t it fun?! I used a thin Sharpie marker. But you could use any fine tip marker really. Doodle first on scrap paper to make sure you like the thickness of the black marker or pen you will be using.

This second one shows where my mind went after seeing what Kevin did on his cards. Drawing zentangle-like designs within the confines of the colorful sections takes a bit of time though. So if you get more artsy and detailed like this, just know that it’s not a quick way to alter the paper. On my first card I used the 2″ Circle Punch and a die from the Stylish Shapes Dies for my sentiment area. On this card I used a die from the Friends for Life Dies in this suite for the sentiment area. The punched 1-3/4″ circle on the middle right side is from another matching sheet. Also…notice the Iridescent Faceted Gems? I have one in the middle of the raised circle on this Miss You card. And I have five on my first card.

All of the designer papers I used on these cards were partials and pieces left over from other cards I had already created. So for this last card, I had a thin strip and a wider strip with the same squares pattern. So I trimmed them to be the same width, added one at the top of the Basic Black cardstock layer and one on the bottom, added the 5/8″ tall white strip in between, glued on my layered die-cut “friend”, and stamped the “love you” to the left on the white strip. I added three Iridescent Faceted Gems to finish off the design: two in the o’s of the stamped words and one small one to dot the i in friend.
I just love how colorful and cheerful these cards are!

What a beautiful kit! Did you get your hands on the July 2024 Painted Petals Paper Pumpkin kit!? Mine arrived on Saturday. So when I got home late on Sunday from my mini 4-day vacation in Walnut Grove MN, I started creating right away in my head. And then on Monday and Tuesday, I put together my first set of alternate projects that I’m excited to share with you today.
For those of you not familiar with these kits, they get delivered straight to your mailbox in the months of your choice. Inside are all the supplies you need AND the directions for assembling the kit cards/projects designed. Here are the intended cards designed for this July 2024 kit. (Click here for Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
What are alternate projects? Well, I take the supplies from the kits and create other things…different cards and projects. This way I can show others how to stretch the kits in new ways. A kit that you may have not been a fan of might all of a sudden be more attractive (or a favorite) because of a new way of using the supplies!
Even if you didn’t get this kit, I hope the ideas I share can be applied to other products you own, and I hope what I share inspires your creativity!

I stepped back in time this weekend in a few different ways. I was in Walnut Grove, MN with my husband, sister, and three friends for the Little House In the Prairie 50th Year Reunion event celebrating the TV series with fellow fans and former cast members, connecting with a bit of American history from the Laura Ingalls Wilder days, and NOT connecting much with the internet.
So I thought it was a fitting time to share two more cards that I made with the Take To The Sky Suite which features historical biplane imagery. (In the early years of aviation – the early 1900’s – biplanes were the first popular style of aircraft.) I shared my first Take To The Sky Tulip Fold card on 6/5/24 (seen below). But I made another version featuring a couple different colors and different sentiments from the set.
This fold is similar to the Grad Cap Fold card that I featured in my 5/29/24 blog post. So I made another biplane card featuring the grad cap fold, too, Here are those two other versions.
