Curvy Celebrations + Poinsettias

A new set of products became available today! I officially introduced these Curvy Celebrations products to you on October 14th during my YouTube Live.

Curvy Celebrations! - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

(Click here for the informational flyer.) And today I thought I’d share a few other cards I made with them.

I used the new Classic Christmas Designer Paper and Curvy Dies – two of the four new products that just debuted that are only available through January 4th and are exclusive to this promotional period. I also used the Quite Curvy Stamp Set, the beautiful Plush Poinsettia flocked vellum, and the Poinsettia Dies.

This first version in Shaded Spruce and Crumb Cake was a card that I mass produced and sent to my club members.

Here are three cards – same layout, but different color combinations – made with the Plush Poinsettia flocked vellum, Classic Christmas Designer Paper, Curvy Dies, and Poinsettia Dies. Access directions, more photos, measurements, and links to all the products. - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Measurements…

  • Whisper White Cardstock
    • 3-3/4″ x 4″
    • 1/2″ x 3-1/2″
  • Green Foil Sheets
    • Two pieces that are 1/2″ x 4-1/4″
  • Champagne Foil Sheets
    • Scraps for die-cutting branch and flower center pieces

    • Die-cut poinsettia
  • Classic Christmas Designer Paper

Directions…

  • Die-cut the 3″ x 4-1/4″ designer paper into two with the dotted curvy edge die to get the front and inside pieces. Die-cut all the other pieces.
  • Punch the Whisper White strip with the Banners Pick-A-Punch. Then mask the sentiment stamp to ink up only the Just For You portion. Stamp this onto the strip.
  • Layer the Green Foil under the designer paper pieces. Add the flower center to the poinsettia.
  • Assemble the card: Add the front curvy designer paper being sure to tuck the flower and foliage before pressing everything down in place. Add the sentiment strip underneath and trim off any excess.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop: Joy To the World

It's a Paper Pumpkin Thing blog hop… #stampyourartout - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

#APaperPumpkinThing
Welcome to our monthly “A Paper Pumpkin Thing” blog hop! See what I have to share. Then check out all the other blogs in the hop to see additional creative alternate paper crafting project ideas that we each came up with using the contents of the October 2020 Joy To the World Paper Pumpkin kit. Here is a photo of the intended projects from this month’s kit: eight full-size cards (four of two kinds measuring 5-7/8 x 4-1/8 or 14.9 cm x 10.47 cm) and coordinating envelopes.

The October 2020 Joy To The World Paper Pumpkin Kit. - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

I’ve already shared some other alternate projects using the contents of this kit on October 20th.

  • Quintuple the kit to make 40 holiday cards
  • And an adaption of last month’s hand sanitizer holders.

CLICK HERE to check them out for more ideas.

Today I am sharing two cards with you. The first is very easy to recreate and does not require much extra product outside the kit. I only added a circle punch, an X-acto knife and a surface to cut on like a self-healing mat or cardboard.

I’m excited to share with you a couple more cards I created with the October 2020 Joy To The World Paper Pumpkin Kit! Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.

Directions…

  • Punch a 2-1/4″ circle in the front layer of the card base.
  • Tie on some twine. (I wrapped the twine around twice before tying in a bow.)
  • Adhere one of the die-cut words from the kit.
  • Use the X-acto knife to cut around the petals on the inside of the center flower from the floral piece in the kit. Do the cutting on a safe surface such as a self-healing mat or cardboard. Notice I didn’t connect my cuts. Then use a bone folder to lift and curl them a bit.

  • I recommend watching the video I shared yesterday so you can understand how it comes together.
  • Then cut all the pieces and remember what they are for. (I mention lots of details above in the measurements section.)
  • Add the stamped sentiment after folding the card into a closed position so it is 1/8″ from the right edge as shown below.

I’m Calling it a Bookshelf Card

I was on Facebook browsing the other day and a post came up in my newsfeed – a fun fold card shared by fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, Teresa Brown. She shared her card in an exclusive demonstrator-only Facebook group. But I didn’t see any directions from her in the comments or post itself. So I studied the card and figured it out. And I’m calling it a bookshelf card because it holds a bookmark AND because it looks like it has a build-in bookshelf. Hahaha!
11/29/22 update…Teresa reached out to me. How fun! Here is the link to her FB Live that she posted on 10/24/20. Thanks Teresa!

I just showed live on YouTube about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating this unique card. I also showed three other versions of the card all using the Poinsettia Place Designer Paper, the Best Year Stamp Set, and some beautiful coordinating products. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.

I hope you enjoyed what I shared in this video. Below are measurements, close-up photos, and a product list for what I demonstrated. (Please subscribe to my YouTube channel so you can get updates when I share and go live).

PAPER PUMPKIN PAST KITS AND REFILLS AVAILABLE AGAIN SOON!
While constructing the new online store, Stampin’ Up! had to temporarily suspend the offering of Paper Pumpkin past kits and refills. Well…good news! The online store functionality that allows SU to offer these products is working now! Paper Pumpkin Past Kits and Refills are available once again. These products are only available while supplies last and require an active Paper Pumpkin subscription to be allowed to order. SU will continue to release new past kit and refill products each month as inventory and demand allow. If you’re interested in purchasing these products, they’re typically released—if available—on the 4th Monday of each month.

October 2020 Joy To the World Paper Pumpkin Alternate Ideas

I quintupled the cards in the kit!…
Stampin’ Up! just mailed out the October Paper Pumpkin kit, and it contains supplies for making some beautiful brass-foil embellished holiday greeting cards: 8 cards (4 of 2 designs). I like to create alternate projects with my kits, and this time I took the supplies that come in this Joy to the World October 2020 kit….

The October 2020 Joy To The World Paper Pumpkin Kit. - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

…and I quintupled the holiday cards you can make with the kit supplies simply by adding a pack of Crumb Cake Cardstock, a pack of Whisper White envelopes, one more ink color (Cherry Cobbler), and a pack of Gold Glittered Enamel Dots. So instead of 8 cards, you can make 40 from one kit! ? I also added the extra items in the product list at the bottom of this post to the above kit contents to make a couple hand sanitizer holders – similar to last month’s holders, but I just used a card base instead of a pre-cut and scored cracker box. After seeing what I share today, you’ll be able to recreate that box using all sorts of supplies.

So here is what I am sharing with you today:

  • Quintuple the kit to make 40 holiday cards
  • And an adaption of last month’s hand sanitizer holders.

Watch my video first by clicking here to get to get measurements, directions, and tips (or you can just click on this image below if you are already in my blog post). Scroll down to see close-up photos, access the links that I mentioned in my video, and see a list of extra supplies (linked to my online store) that I used to make my creations. Then be sure to visit my blog again soon, because I have many more alternate projects that I’ll be sharing on October 29.

Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video or click on the image below (if you are already viewing this on my blog) to help you assemble the kit cards as intended.

And here are close-up photos of the alternate projects I made and shared in my video. (Remember to watch my video first to get measurements, tips and directions.)

Introducing Curvy Celebrations

Some fun, new products from the January-June Mini Catalog are being released early to be available to all on November 3rd. Stampin’ Up! is also teaming these products – the Quite Curvy Stamp Set and Curvy Dies – with two other coordinating exclusive products just in time holiday paper crafting: the Curvy Christmas Stamp Set and the Classic Christmas Designer Paper.

Snowflake Splendor x3

Yesterday I shared three gate fold explosion cards that I made with the Magic In This Night Suite. I mentioned that I was inspired to design them when my upline, Susan Campfield sent us the supplies to make one with pieces from the Snowflake Splendor Suite. Today I thought I’d share photos of that make-n-take card and two other cards I made using similar elements. You can refer back to yesterday’s post for a video of instructions to make a gate fold explosion card. The two other cards are put together in the same manner as the cards I shared on September 23rd.

All three cards share the same snowflake cluster and sentiment strip. For one card die-cut three snowflakes (two with Whisper White Thick Cardstock and one with Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper) using the following dies from the So Many Snowflake Dies.

So Many Snowflakes Dies - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

Layer them together with Glue Dots. And add a Blue Adhesive-Backed Gem to the center. Then cut a strip of 3/4″ x 4-1/4″ Whisper White Thick Cardstock. Punch the end with the Banners Pick A Punch. Then stamp the sentiment from the Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set onto it with Pacific Point Ink.

Here is Susan’s gate fold explosion card.
