The Charming Sentiments Stamp Set has a very fun sentiment that I’ve been using a lot…”super fantastic mega news.” Who wouldn’t love getting a congratulatory card with those words on the front? Here is one of my latest cards featuring this sentiment. It’s a festive autumn card with a simple design…very easy to recreate.
The black and white paper is noticeable and at the same time isn’t distracting from the focal point of the card.

Measurements
Basic White Thick Cardstock
5-1/2” x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to short side at 4-1/4”
Scrap for stamping and die-cutting sentiment
Rustic Harvest Designer Paper
(3 – different patterns) 1-1/2” x 3-1/2”
Directions
Stamp then die-cut the sentiment.
Stamp the inside sentiment.
Use a dauber to add Soft Suede ink to the edges of the leaf.
Add the outer designer papers first so that they leave about a 3/8″ border on the top, bottom and side. Then add the middle one so it’s centered.
Add the leaf with Dimensionals. Add the sentiment with Dimensionals.
Embellish with the Amber Rhinestones.
Many of you know my oldest son Nick plays the quad/tenor drums in marching band. Well, this Saturday was the last formal performance of the season: the Youth in Music Championships (YIMS) held at the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is what they practice for all season. These amazingly hard working and talented students put in hundreds and hundreds of hours starting in early June and perform all season long in various smaller competitions, shows, parades, pep fests and more which leads up to this final show where they give it their all with the hopes of scoring well.
And this proud band mom is excited to tell you that they did quite well placing third overall out of twelve schools with scores super close to the school that placed second!! They also place best in winds!! So amazing!
The above photo shows all nine kids in the battery of the percussion section. Nick’s girlfriend Jaylene & Nick are the two on the left playing the instrument that has several connected drums, the tenor drums also known as the quads. Nick’s cousin Robbie is the base drum player on the right in the back. And then I have to give a shout out to Devah and Parker to the left of Nick both playing the snare. These two fellow 11th graders and good friends have been in marching band together since the beginning.
Their show had a Vikings warrior theme with amazing props, effects, music, and of course… talent and energy. And though we didn’t place first, there were many around us in the stands that had been impacted by their performance at previous competitions as we could hear several family members from other schools mentioning how good Anoka’s show was.

Welcome to our All Star Tutorial monthly blog hop for the He’s The Man Suite! Be ready to be immersed in this adorable suite with all that we have to share.
My friend and fellow demonstrator, Rose Kerry sent me an amazing card the other day. Isn’t it completely adorable?!
That fun fold is the inspiration for my card I’m sharing today. By the way, I don’t own the stamp set or dies from this suite I’m sharing. What?! I know…I thought I had them, and then found out I didn’t when it came time to create. So I had to challenge myself and see what I could do with the papers and embellishments. And though it’s not quite as amazing as Rose’s card, I’m pretty happy with how my version turned out.

I wasn’t quite in the mood for Christmas which is what most of us think of when we see this new paper in the July-Dec 2022 Mini Catalog. But I had the celebrations of 4th of July and Father’s Day (since I was working on gathering up a belated gift to my dad), on my mind. So I paired the papers up with images from the Brewed for You set from the 2022-23 Annual Catalog.

For all my cards I started by cutting my three 6×6 sheets of Metallic & Shimmer Specialty Designer Paper into four 1-1/2” x 6” pieces. And then I sliced each of these diagonally as shown giving me four similar triangular strips from each color – eight altogether from each color.
I took all the triangles with the sparkle pattern at the pointed end and added them to one card base. The others I added to another card base. And because I had lots of pieces (many that are very big) that got trimmed off from the first two cards, I created a third card.
I marked a point about 1-1/2″ in at the bottom of my base card. Then I covered this white cardstock with adhesive and added the triangular pieces one at a time (starting from the lower right) with the points all ending at that pencil dot.
As you can see from the photo below, you might not end up adding each at that exact spot. But it’s a starting point. You’ll also see I was short one piece. So I added some black cardstock there.

Tips…
The sentiments on the black pieces are stamped with VersaMark ink and embossed with White Emboss Powder.
The beverage in the bottle is not a stamped image. It’s colored in with Blends Markers.
To get the lighter Crushed Curry color in the non-handled glass, stamp first onto grid paper then onto the image.
The drink images are all covered with packaging tape before die-cutting. You can see that they are shiny because of this.

This photo shows what I had remaining after making all the cards as the kit intended. There are a lot of leftover pieces, right?
So I created cards with a few of the leftovers and I have five to share with you today. They are super simple. I used an extra stamp set for the sentiments, but you wouldn’t need to.

The first couple cards I made would be perfect for birthday party invitations. (In fact you could turn ALL the cards in this kit into invites for a robot-themed party! Just use your computer to write up the party details. Then print it off and add it to the inside of the card.) The robots in the top card are stamped and then embellished with a few little stickers and googly eyes. The robots in the bottom card are created from the extra stickers. And if you run out of speech bubbles, you can just add skinny triangular stickers cut from the edges of the sticker sheets as I did in the bottom card to still give that look of who is talking. The Bermuda Bay cardstock is cut to 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. The Basic White is cut to 5″ x 7-1/2″ and scored parallel to the short end at 3-3/4″.
I used a Basic White Notecard for this 3rd one. I thought the robot’s hand was a perfect place for a flower.
And for the inside I used a portion of the long sticker that looks like a bunch of gears.
Here are the last two cards. Again I used a notecard for my simple “what’s new” robot card. But the other one required a few more extra supplies (see below). The Granny Apple Green grass sections are just 1″ x 4-1/8″ pieces that I cut along the top. And the Balmy Blue card base is 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored parallel to the short side at 5-1/2″.

I love the new stamp set, Bottled Happiness. And I love that it coordinates with a punch. I shared a fun Message in a Bottle card on May 25th. But the z-fold cards I’m sharing today were actually the first cards I created with this bundle.
I used the Perfectly Penciled Designer Paper for the black and white borders. And I chose the other colors in these cards because of the colors of the embellishments (the Glossy Dots Assortment).

Measurements per card…
Basic White Thick Cardstock
4-1/4” x 11″ scored parallel to short side at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2”
4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
2-3/4″ x 5-3/8″
Scraps for stamping and punching bottle and bottle label
Perfectly Penciled Designer Paper
Two strips that are 3/4” x 5-3/8”
Two strips that are 5/8” x 5-3/8”
Colored Cardstock (Pool Party or Daffodil Delight)
2-5/8″ x 5-3/8″
Parakeet Party Metallic Woven Ribbon

Directions
Fold the white card base to make a zig-zag look. Then add the 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ layer onto the folded front section of the base piece. (This photo below hopefully helps.)
Add the thinner designer paper strips to the tops of the 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ sections. Add the thicker to the bottom sections.
Stamp “Overflowing with Happiness” on the colored cardstock. And add that to the inside.
Stamp the floral images (leaves and flowers) slightly off center on the white 2-3/4″ x 5-3/8″ layer. Add that to the front of the card with Dimensionals.
Stamp the bottle image onto a white scrap and punch out. I stamped off onto scrap paper first to lighten the ink (Pool Party or Daffodil Delight) a bit. Stamp the “sending cheer” sentiment onto a white scrap and punch out. Then trim above and below to create a label. Add it to the bottle. Then add the bottle to the card with Dimensionals.
Embellish the front of the card with the Glossy Dots and with the ribbon tied in a bow near the base of the flowers.

And here is what they look like opened. I love that z-fold cards allow you to see the front even from an opened position.
