I received my May 2024 Paper Pumpkin kits on Sunday. And I was able to take time to create alternate project ideas with it right away on Monday. I LOVE thinking outside the box and coming up with card, page, and project ideas that are different than what the kit directions map out. I created quite a few items, too! I was inspired.
For those of you not familiar with these kits, they get delivered straight to your mailbox in the months of your choice. Inside are all the supplies you need AND the directions for assembling the kit cards/projects designed. Here are the intended cards designed for this May 2024 The Best There Is Paper Pumpkin kit. (Click here for Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
I’m sharing my first alternates with you today. Even if you didn’t get this kit, I hope the ideas I share can be applied to other products you own, and I hope what I share inspires your creativity!
Watch my video first by clicking here to get the measurements, directions, and tips (or you can just click on the image below if you are already in my blog post). Scroll down to see close-up photos, access the links that I mentioned in my video, and see a list of extra supplies (linked to my online store) that I used to make everything.
Here are close-up photos of the alternate projects I made and shared in my video. (Remember to watch first to get measurements, tips and directions.)
Simple Card and…
…In Color Version of the same card
I used the beautiful background I demonstrated this past weekend. I was inspired by a swap card from fellow demonstrator, Virginie Julien. (If she hasn’t already, she will be sharing how to make her card soon. Here is a link to her Facebook page. And here is a link to her YouTube channel.)
This was inspired by a gift I received from fellow demonstrator, Lisa Marshall (who is also my moderator on Facebook Lives).
I hope you enjoyed what I shared today! Again…if you did not get this kit, I hope you can apply these ideas to products you already own.

City Sights is one of the newer kits in Stampin’ Up!’s Kits Collection. I love the whole watercolor downtown look and feel of these cards. So I purchased one and had to play!
I rearranged the parts and pieces and came up with a way to expand the number of cards you can get from this kit simply by adding some extra cardstock, envelopes, and sentiment images. I came up with a way to turn two kit cards into five. And doing this with the whole kit will turn all eight cards into 20! Below is a complete list of products I used. And each of them are linked to where you can find them in my online store.
This kit comes with adhesives, but I added regular Dimensionals in my supply list. These larger ones can be easier to work with and extra Dimensionals may be needed when making more cards with a kit. I added Multipurpose Liquid Glue because this adhesive will be easier to apply to thin strips. I added Seal Adhesive because it’s quicker to apply than the Tear & Tape adhesive that comes in the kit. And making 20 cards instead of 8 may require more than the kit’s tape roll provides. One more thing to note is that though the kit comes with stamps and ink, this kit doesn’t come with any sentiment stamps. The words (with multiple language choices) are on punched out circle and banner pieces. That is the reason I added in the Simply Said Stamp Set. But you could really use any word image stamps you may have on hand.
Initial measurements for five cards made from the supplies of two… Quadruple this to complete the whole kit.
Pebbled Path Cardstock
Five 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ pieces scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4”
Kit card bases
Each cut to two 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ pieces
Directions for turning two kit cards (one of each) into five cards…
After cutting two card bases down to 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ (to get four card front layers), I cut the edges off (about 1/16″) the two envelopes so i could open them up and have more usable printed paper. I cut each of those larger envelope layers down to get two 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ layers. The blue one I used for another card front layer. The other one I cut in half for two inside panels. And from the envelope flaps I cut them down to squares about 2-5/8″ x 2-5/8″ each (which I used for two inside panels).
So here are the first two designs outside and in.
The “thanks” on the first card is stamped on the back side of a Dutch, French or German sentiment circle. There were no Dimensionals used on this first card.
For the second card I added the speckled image off to the right/middle. The ink was lighter because I first stamped the speckled image onto scrap paper. Then I added the stamped city scene piece with Dimensionals. I glued on the dark blue corrugated thin strip (from the remains of the punched out blue corrugated banner sheet) to the white banner. And then I added the banner and happy birthday” circle with Dimensionals.
Here are the second two designs.
The “miss you” on the top card is stamped on the back/white side of a Dutch, French or German sentiment circle, And I used another Dutch, French or German sentiment circle for a shadow layer underneath. I added this to the French banner covering up the words. I added it the printed layer with Dimensionals. And then I add the printed layer to the card base.
For the other card I added the punched out negative piece behind (white on white) and attached with Dimensionals to create a city skyline with depth. Then I added this to the lower left on the blue envelope layer using the small kit Dimensionals on the outer edge. I added the sentiment banner. Then I glued on two pieces of dark blue corrugated thin strip (from the remains of the punched out blue corrugated banner sheet) just above the sentiment banner but back against the envelope base layer. I trimmed off the excess and attached to my card base.
This is the 5th card that I made from the supplies of just two. (Follow these directions with all the kit supplies and you can get 20 cards from one kit.)
On this last card I stamped the city scene. Then I simply added the dark blue corrugated strip and the white banner that I had already stamped. There are no Dimensionals on this card.
I used what was left over from the two envelopes to form a hexagon interior layer on this card. OH! And don’t forget to add those pretty embellishments!

I’m absolutely in love with Stampin’ Up!’s new 2024-26 In Color Collection! These trending colors debuted in the 2024-25 Annual Catalog and in the Online Store on May 1st. But many of us demonstrators/reps for the company were able to get our hands on these colors much earlier. So I showed them off in a Live video on March 19th. Did you view it? Click here (or below) to see that color reveal and color comparison presentation.
To make this month of May even more exciting for those wanting to add these new In Color products to their collection, Stampin’ Up! is currently offering $82 worth of these 2024-26 In Color products (the ink pads, markers, assorted cardstock, and designer paper) for FREE with the purchase of the Starter Kit. Purchasing the Starter Kit gets you on the demonstrator side of things. And then after getting the kit, you could choose to sell Stampin’ Up! products to others or not worry about any of that and just enjoy being a discount shopper. You would also be a part of my exclusive Stampers With ART Community.
So today I thought I’d show you some fun fold cards featuring these products paired with the new Friends For Life Bundle. You can make versions of these cards with any colors or with other stamps and dies. But I wanted to feature these new colors AND I chose this bundle because is has a variety of sentiments and the leaf imagery coordinates great with one of the designer paper patterns.
I also thought I’d show off one of my favorite cards I received in a recent swap. This card (designed by fellow demonstrator, Virginie Julien) features all these new colors in a beautiful watercolor design. (She is planning to share how to make her card soon…possibly even this Wednesday! Here is a link to her Facebook page. And here is a link to her YouTube channel.)
I’ve inserted a link to my how-to video which is happening OR has happened (depending on when you are reading this) at 11 AM Central Time. Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store. These are the same products used on my card that I shared on 5/8/24 with the addition of Blending Brushes, a few more ink pad colors, and some 12×12 cardstock (Early Espresso 12×12 from the Neutrals pack and Wood Textured Specialty Paper).
AdditionalMeasurements (these are in addition to those to make the card I shared on 5/8/24)…
Early Espresso Cardstock
(6) 4-1/8” x 5-1/2”
A portion of a sheet of 12″ x 12″ for cutting two 1-1/4″ wide diagonal strips
Wood Textured Specialty Paper
12” x 12”
Country Woods Designer Paper (light wood)
12” x 12″
Country Woods Designer Paper (colored wood)
A portion of a sheet of 12″ x 12″ for cutting two 1″ wide diagonal strips
Basic White Cardstock
Scraps for die-cutting all five flowers
Scrap for stamping and die-cutting the bird
Summer Splash Cardstock
Scraps for die-cutting all the single and double leaves twice
The slightly “tilted” colored wood plank strips are made by cutting diagonally from the 12×12 papers. Cutting straight strips and then angling on the page wouldn’t give you enough length to reach the top and bottom edges of the base layer completely.
To cut the strips as I did position the paper/cardstock in the trimmer so the top and bottom cuts are angled with a 1/2″ difference. (This photo shows my initial angled cuts.) Then just make sure the next cut to form the strip is parallel to the angled first cut.
I did adjust the first two birdhouse layers of the card to make them fit better on the left page…I brought them closer to each other. I added a bird (and the outline image of the house when I demonstrated this card in my Live) to the third one. And I added some color (Pool Party, Lemon Lolly & Petal Pink ink) behind the first two houses with Blending Brushes.
Extra flowers, leaves & Brushed Brass Butterflies embellish the rest of the page layout.
You never would guess these pages were all built around a card design. Right?
Thanks for stopping by to see what I had to share today.

Many of you asked me to make and share a how-to video for my Twist Corner Tri-Fold Card that I posted back on April 5th. So after getting new products in my hands from the May 1st release of the new 2024-25 Annual Catalog, I found several papers, stamp images, dies, etc. that when combined would make more of these landscape fun fold cards.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating these cards with the Unbounded Love and Textured Floral bundles (stamps and dies) and pretty sheets of designer paper from the Flowering Zinnias, Perennial Lavender, Winter Meadow, and Frames and Flowers packs. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog post), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the measurements & products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.

To those of you celebrating, happy Mother’s Day! I have a fun and unique idea for you today that is sure to bring a smile (if not laughter).
My friend Lisa Marshall gave me a gift in March when we were at OnStage in Houston. And part of that gift (mini tongs with silicone hands) brought me such a huge smile that I wanted to pass it along to others.
The colors were nice and bright and most of the colors paired well with the colors in the Flowering Zinnias Designer Paper. So I used my circle punches to make some tags and tied them on with some silver trim…the zinnia flower on one side, a printed note on the other.
I added these tags to several of the tongs. And for the ones that didn’t coordinate with the flowers of the zinnias, I used images from the Unbounded Beauty and Mediterranean Blooms paper packs.
(See below for a list of products used linked to where you can find them in my online store.)
I also made and gave out another version of this gift for a few specific demonstrator friends (those I team up with or who assist me in my business, those who are generous with their gifts to me, etc…). For those individuals, I bought little boxes of tiny circle label stickers.
I wrapped them each with cardstock (black on the bottom and back and white at the top and front) and added a message on the inside against the white…
…and coordinating panels of designer paper on the outside against the black. I stamped the top with “hugs” from the Layering Leaves Stamp Set and added my logo sticker for a bit of unique personalization.
Measurements
Basic Black Cardstock
2-1/2” x 5″ scored parallel to short side at 2-3/4″ and 3-1/2”
Basic White Cardstock
2-1/2” x 5″ scored parallel to short side at 2-3/4″ and 3-1/2”
Designer Paper
1-1/4” x 2-1/2”
2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″
Printed note on the inside
2-1/2″ x just under 2-3/4″
Then I held the wrap closed around each box with the hand-shaped mini tongs which I secured with coordinating colored rubber bands…
…so that the hands looked like they were grasping the little boxes. 🤣
They were so cute and silly.
A few of the stickers that coordinated with the aqua colored tongs were wrapped with the Unbounded Beauty paper. The packaging was goofy, but those tongs brought a lot of smiles.
So if you are looking for something unique, I hope what I shared inspired you.
*Disclaimer: Earning the incentive trip is something very few Stampin’ Up! demonstrators achieve—less than 1%, in fact! I was so excited to be among those that attended this one at the Xcaret Mexico Resort. And I am so grateful for all the support I get from you…my team members, customers, subscribers, viewers, friends, family, etc. Hugs!! And a big thank you!
