Today I want to introduce you to one of the new products…a great new background stamp called Drizzling Droplets. It’s a fun image that can cover the surface of a card front and depending on how you stamp it can look like so many things…possibly snow, water, bubbles, carbonation, lights, confetti, or even just an abstract fun background.
I inked the stamp up in two different colors using my brayer. First I rolled half of the brayer multiple times across one ink pad, then I rolled the other half of the brayer multiple times across another ink pad being careful not to mix the inks together. (Inking the lighter color first might be wise in case the first color accidentally comes in contact with the second.) These are the backgrounds I achieved on my first couple cards.
For each of these I used the Azure Afternoon and Berry Burst Ink Pads. When you roll the brayer across the stamp to ink it up, you need to shift it up and down the image. Doing this will mix the two colors in the middle. So it creates a gradient. (See below for a complete list of products I used on my cards. These products are linked to where you can find them in my online store.)
After stamping the Drizzling Droplets image onto a 4″ x 5-1/2″ Basic White piece of cardstock, I used Blending Brushes to add a soft glow coming in from the top and bottom (same ink pads). Then I trimmed 1/8″ off of each side to get rid of the harshness of the color on the edges.
Measurements
Basic White Cardstock
5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to short side at 4-1/4”
4-1/4” x 5-1/2″
3/8″ Sheer Ribbon
5-1/2”
Colored Cardstock
Scrap that is at least 2″ x 3-3/8”
I adhered a length of Azure Afternoon 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon wrapping the ends and taping them to the back. I added this to to the front of the folded card base with Dimensionals – one in each corner. Then I added the “Hello” (with Mini Dimensionals) and Rhinestones to finish off the design.
Notice that the drops are “falling down” on one card and “bubbling up” on the other. I liked the bubbling up look and wanted to try it out with other colors. So I made two more cards which I personally like a bit more. They have a sunshine feel to them.
I did the same thing I did with the first two but just used different colors of ink and cardstock.
Card #3: Melon Mambo Ink, Pumpkin Pie Ink & Cardstock, Cajun Craze Ink (for the outline of the word Hello), Bubble Bath Ribbon
Card #4: Daffodil Delight Ink, Parakeet Party Cardstock & Ink, Lemon Lolly Ribbon, Granny Apple Green Ink (for the outline of the word Hello)
For the “Hello” I inked up the raised lettering on the embossing folder, placed the coordinating hybrid die in place, add the cardstock to cover the word, closed the folder, and ran it all through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to ink emboss and cut it out. Then I used a white gel pen to draw on highlights.
Do you have a favorite? Can you think of occasions a hello card like this would be perfect for? If you recreate this card or a version of it, I’d love for you to share it with me.
I haven’t shared much news about my oldest son Nick on social media or my videos since the fall when he was competing in marching band. So I thought I’d show you a couple photos and give you a quick update.
He’s been meal prepping. He cooks salmon, steak, chicken, rice, sweet potatoes, and green beans. He weighs everything out and packages it all up into multiple meals. And he does this two times each week.
Nick has been very serious about fitness, exercise, and strength training. His goal for some time has been to have a career in the fitness industry, be an influencer, own his own business, and compete in body building competitions. And thanks to his coach, his more routine schedule now that he is done with marching band, his dedication to the gym, his drive and hard work, his discipline, and his positive mindset, he will be participating in his first competion on June 8th. And he has been posting to Instagram for some time now working hard to build a following. It’s been amazing to watch his journey.
He is a high school senior and graduates this year! So I’m now planning and prepping for that. SOOOooo fun!

I designed and put together twenty using a half pack of the M&M cards and shared them at my Silver Elite Retreat. Then I gave everyone supplies to create the same ones. Paper crafters love to be creative though. So many made variations of my designs.
After scrolling through the photos of my 20 card designs, keep going to see the variations from Vy Tran, Kayla Cory, and Margo Tessman (my mom).
The only extra product we added into the card designs were either 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ or 3-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ layers of Basic White Cardstock. The 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ Basic White was used for layers under the 3″ x 4″ Sweet Thoughts cards and for inside layers. The 3-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ Basic White was used for inside layers. And then I used tools and adhesives of course.
I love how Dimensionals create shadow. Below I added Dimensionals under the butterfly layer on the left card and under the Basic White layer (AND under the birthday sticker) on the right card. Oh! That’s a fun bonus…the Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Cards come with sheets of coordinating stickers. So you don’t need to add in any outside ribbons, embellishments or stamps to fancy up your creations.
On these next two cards I added Dimensionals under the Basic White layer on this “Dream Big” card and under the M&M card layer with the card on the right. Then I added some stickers from the M&M card pack as decorations on the insides.
Here I added Dimensionals under the Love You Forever layer on the left card and under the Basic White layer on the right card.
For these two I added Dimensionals under the Basic White layer on this “Love” card and under the M&M card layer with the card on the right. I also added some stickers from the M&M card pack as decorations on the outsides and insides.
The landscape card on the left with the 4″ x 6″ M&M card has no Dimensionals. The one on the right has them under the Basic White layer. I added the copper sticker with the word smile to the paintbrush sticker, then trimmed it up before adding it to the inside of the card. The sticker on the inside of the landscape card is one flower that was cut into two pieces.
These two are quite simple…no Dimensionals & only one sticker added to the inside of one of the cards.
This “Hello Beautiful” card also uses no Dimensionals. But the butterfly one I turned into an easel card by adding an extra score/fold half-way through the card base front at 2-1/8″ and attaching the butterfly M&M card only to the lower half so it can prop up behind the My Heart sticker that was attached with Dimensionals to the inside.
These cards below also got an extra score line at 2-1/8″ to make them into z-fold cards. I added the Basic White layers to the insides first to make it easier to line up when adding the layers on the front. The blue card has no Dimensionals. The “world” card has them between the M&M card layer and the Basic White layer.
This “sunshine” card is similar to the “world” card above. For the “paintbrush” card I added Dimensionals between the M&M card and the Basic White layer. And on the inside I added two stickers strategically to cover the words that were on the floral & lined M&M layer.
This top card is super simple…Dimensionals under the M&M floral card, and then two added stickers (the “hello” and the flower on the inside).
The second one involves a bit more thinking though. I cut the 4″ x 6″ M&M card just to the left of the white vertical stripe. Then I attached just that right portion to the card base keeping the left portion lined up to help center it all on the front. I removed the left portion, trimmed the front to separate the right side from the left just where the right layer ends, and added flower sticker on the left front to represent asterisks before each word. And then I adhered the right side completely down, opened the left and adhered the remaining left portion of that M&M card to the inside. And I finished it all off with the “you are” sticker.
I also shared these cards in my Show-n-Tell Live that aired on Facebook and YouTube Saturday if you want to watch that. And I shared cards I’ve been gifted lately PLUS new product peeks!
Now I’d like to show you some of the variations of these Memories & More cards that were made by those who attended my Silver Elite Stars’ Retreat the weekend of January 19-21, 2024. Those who created the cards are named in the watermarks of the photos. Here are Vy Tran’s…
Here are Kayla Cory’s…
And here are my mom’s…
We had a birthday to celebrate Saturday night…my youngest Luke is turning 17 on the 7th! So we celebrated with a family party. The date was agreed upon on just last week Monday which only gave us five days to pull it together. And teenagers are busy AND aren’t the most chatty creatures when they aren’t in the mood to talk. So it took me until Thursday night to have a decent conversation with Luke. 🤣
Friday morning I shopped on Amazon for decor and found a talented local cake maker that could fit our order in. And it all came together! I’m thankful to my husband who ran all the errands, Amazon for speedy delivery, and Diedre Zelin (the gal who was able to make a fun cake with only 24 hours notice). Here are a couple photos from the fun celebration. (I’m at the party, but I was taking the photo. So you don’t see me.)

My annual Silver Elite Retreat took place last weekend. This is an special event for those in my Stampers With ART group who are at the Silver Elite title or higher. To be Silver Elite, a demonstrator must have at least $7,200 US in rolling 12-month sales and five direct team members with at least one of them holding the title of Silver* or more.
This year instead of going to my parents’ cabin, I hosted it at my house in Andover, MN and my mom came here to help me put it on. My husband and my boys left to enjoy a guys’ weekend away at a hotel in Saint Paul so that us six paper crafters could make use of the entire house. It worked out well. We had space for everyone to sleep, all my tools and extra supplies were on hand, the crafting area was well-lit, and I could even photograph projects afterwards using the space in my studio.
Vy was the only one who lived quite a distance away. She flew in Thursday early afternoon. She’s been to Minnesota before and didn’t desire to shop the Mall of America or anything. So we basically just hung out at the house all day. It was super cold outside anyway.
On Friday we ventured out to a local bakery/sandwich shop called Krown Bakery in Anoka. They have very tasty gluten-free desserts. So we each had a sandwich and a treat.
By about 3:00 PM on Friday Cheryl, Nancy and Kayla had arrived. And my guys (now home from school and done with work) were out the door. It was fun to catch up and we talked for quite some time. I also gave everyone their bag of make-n-take supplies and gifts (see below for what they received).
Everyone settled into and unpacked, we had dinner and then we dove into our projects. It was fun to see the looks on their faces when I informed them we were making 20 cards in one evening. But there was relief when they saw that those cards were quick and easy creations with the Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Cards and Cards/Envelopes. In the end, there were close to 100 completed cards on the kitchen island! I will share my 20 cards (and some of the variations these gals came up with) on my blog sometime next week.
Vy really got creative with her cards (the unicorn pjs helped!) and even used the new Glass Mat Studio and hobby blade to give her butterfly wings a bit of a lift.
I bought and provided TOO much food. We were never without and had lots of leftovers (which my family is still working on). This is a photo of the food we had out for lunch on Saturday.
Crafting was a majority of the retreat weekend. But we also laughed a lot and shared ideas with each other…creative and business. Kayla taught me how to set up break out rooms for Zoom AND she showed me how to create logo wear. You may see some of that appearing on the shop section of my blog soon! Hahaha
Saturday we worked on the more time-consuming cards. Above is Cheryl, Kayla and Nancy. And below is me, my mom and Vy. These photos were taken when we put together Outside-In Fun Fold card with products in the Forever Love Suite. For those of you who catch my weekly free Online Paper Crafting Classes on YouTube or Facebook, these are the cards I’ll be sharing how to make this Wednesday, January 31st. Hope you can tune in!
During this retreat we each made:
A Star Column Card that we made with the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle and some Perennial Lavender Designer Paper – cards that I shared a few days ago on January 22nd. (Be sure to check them out.)
Two Outside-In Fun Fold cards that I’ll share this week on Wednesday.
And two other cards with this Forever Love Suite that I’ll share soon after.
Taco night is a tradition now. I think we’ve had tacos at every Silver Elite Retreat since we first started these in February of 2018 (this year is our 7th annual). It’s Cheryl’s favorite meal, she has been at every retreat, and what’s not to love about tacos?!
With the trip my son and I took out to Los Angeles, I didn’t have a lot of time to make a lot of things for the girls’ gifts, but I DID get these stamped invitations out in the mail in late December/early January.
Of course I had to use my favorite stamp set, Layering Leaves for the imagery and front sentiment. I paired this with the new Layered Florals Embossing Folder for the Basic White Cardstock layer, some Vellum Cardstock along the left edge and within the punched leaves, some Gold Foil cut with the Stylish Shapes positioned under the 2″ punched sentiment circle, and some Pretty Peacock/Gold Ribbon and Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems. (See below for a visual list for these supplies linked to my online store.)
Here are the iridescent bags of gifts I gave to each of my achieving demonstrators.
Their make-n-take materials were within. And then of course all the other goodies!…
Cheryl Lee’s bag:
Nancy Forsberg’s (and Kayla Cory’s) bag:
And Vy Tran’s bag:
They each received iridescent embellishments (foiled gems, pearls, rhinestones, and flat backed pearls) individually wrapped in iridescent bags tied with a bit of Glittered Organdy Ribbon, a Clear Block D etched with their name and the event info, a couple sponges, a notebook of black 9×12 sketch paper and a white marker (that can write on smooth surfaces and paper) that I purchased in Norway, a black reflective photo board, a couple of iridescent drinking glasses, Holographic Foil Paper (not pictured), their favorite bag of chips, and a custom made 3D printed business card holder with their business logo design on the front (made by James and Ashley at The Country Hive).
I got one, too!!! Here are the four business card holders up close.
As always, it was an amazing weekend with amazing people and memories to last a lifetime! I’m already excited for next year and thinking of other ways to spoil my achievers.

Have you seen my Instagram posts recently? My son, Luke has been taking classes in acting and modeling this past year through D&A Talent. We have been enjoying our time this past week in Los Angeles and these past couple days at the Industry Network January 2024 event where he has been able to perform his talents in front of agents, managers, and casting directors. It’s been a fun week and an exciting weekend with Connie and the team of other talent and their families.
We flew out the evening of January 8th to sight-see and so I could catch up and spend time with my dear friend Dena.* She and her husband Kevin picked us up from the airport, gave us a place to stay for three nights (even covered the use of one of their vehicles and a hotel stay for us in Hollywood the second night!), and organized all the sight-seeing we did so Luke could experience fun places on his bucket list (this was Luke’s first time in LA).
On Tuesday, Jan 9th we took off in two vehicles (their son Craig also came with us), visited the Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach (and Muscle Beach), had lunch and shopped for a bit in Beverly Hills, and then made our way over to Hollywood via Sunset Blvd and Hollywood Blvd so they could drop us off at the Kimpton Everly Hotel.
*I lived in the Palmdale/Lancaster area of California for four years in the early 90’s where I started my career as an elementary teacher. Dena and I were roommates for part of that time and developed a friendship that has lasted over 30 years!
We got up early the next day and walked almost the entire Walk of Fame to see the stars, read the ground at the Chinese Theatre, shop, and get a good photo of the Hollywood sign from the 5th level of the Ovation Hollywood Mall. After checking out of the hotel around 11 AM, we then drove up to the Griffith Observatory. We took more photos and enjoyed the breathtaking views.
We made a quick stop to get lunch and then got on the freeways by 1:45 so we could get back to Mission Viejo and avoid too much traffic. I’m thinking 15 minutes earlier would have been better to avoid the start of LA’s infamous “rush hour,” but we drove 55 miles and made it back to Dena and Kevin’s a little after 3:30.
We had a nice relaxing last evening with them. We rode their ebikes, enjoyed Kevin’s fish tacos for dinner, and watched a movie on Netflix together.
The next morning after saying goodbye to Dena (who needed to get to work), Kevin drove Luke and me back up through the city to the Universal Sheraton Hotel to drop us off for the Industry Network conference. Many in our D&A Talent group hadn’t arrived yet, so Luke and I took the shuttle to Universal Studios and spent our afternoon there where we explored the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Springfield: Home of the Simpsons, and the Universal Studios Studio Tour.
We didn’t realize there was another whole level until closer to the park’s closing time. The escalators down took some time, but we experienced the Transformers 3D ride and then challenged ourselves not to do all the escalators and to do as many stairs as we could on the way back up. I walked up two of the four flights. Luke walked way more.
After getting some dinner at the City Walk and returning to the hotel, we met up with a Amanda in our group and explored the hotel and the rooms where all the conference events would be held.
We are still in the process of the event which started Friday early afternoon. But Luke has been putting his best foot forward:
Showing his acting abilities in the showcase tryouts and performing his monologue, commercial and scene
Networking directly to these agents, managers, and casting directors while sharing his resume and cover photo
And presenting his print model abilities through his photos from a session done last month.
We are also enjoying spending time with our group…practicing, sharing, supporting one another, and just having fun together!
Today is the last day, so we are going to make the most of it before we fly out and head back home tomorrow. We are very grateful to Connie (and Heather) at D&A Talent for their knowledge and training these past several months. And we are looking forward for what’s to come.
Thanks for visiting today.

Happy holidays from the Tessman/Jandro family: Nick (18), Rachel, Tim and Luke (almost 17).
It’s Christmas day, so I’m keeping it short. But I thought I’d share the card I sent to those in my Stampers With ART Community of paper crafters. I used the Joy To You stamp set (retiring January 3rd), the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder, the Silver & White 1/2″ Sheer Ribbon, Poppy Parade Ink (which looks like Cherry Cobbler – I was having issues with my camera the day I took my photos), Basic White Cardstock, and Smoky Slate Cardstock and Ink (although they look like Basic Gray in my photos).
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements
Basic White Thick Cardstock
4-1/4” x 11″ scored parallel to short side at 5-1/2”
Smoky Slate Cardstock
3-5/8” x 4-7/8”
Basic White Cardstock
3-1/2” x 4-3/4”
Scrap for stamping and trimming sentiment
Silver & White 1/2″ Sheer Ribbon
4″
The first step is to stamp the full image with Smoky Slate ink onto the white layer. Stamp the image again with Poppy Parade ink onto the white scrap and trim out just the “joy to you” so that it is just under 1/2″ in height. In other words, trim close.
Emboss the white layer, add a strip of Tear & Tape across the Smoky Slate “joy to you,” and adhere the ribbon. Trim the ends of the ribbon. Add this white layer to the Smoky Slate Cardstock layer and then again to the white card base.
Add the Poppy Parade “joy to you” atop the ribbon with Dimensionals so the silver of the ribbon edges still appear above and below. Then finish off with a small Rhinestone.
I hope you enjoyed a little dose of creativity in your “stocking.” Wishing you health and happiness this day and in the year to come.

My September 2023 With Love & Gratitude Paper Pumpkin alternate project ideas are ready!… well as ready as they can be. I injured my hand a couple weeks ago. I tore the sagittal band of my long finger on my right/dominant hand. Yesterday morning I had surgery to fix it, and my hand is now bandaged up so much that I can’t create with it for some time.
I only found out this past Monday that I would be needing this surgery. This was the same day that I received my paper pumpkin kit. So… I made use of that evening and the following day to create as much as I could for my upcoming blog posts. I got six paper pumpkin alternate projects done! Yay! And I’m excited to share two of my creations with you today!
I didn’t record a video of the directions because I didn’t have time for that. But hopefully my written directions and measurements below are clear enough so you can recreate these ideas.
Because it takes a little bit longer now for me to complete things with my non-dominant hand, my blog posts may bit a little bit briefer (not this one…hahaha!) or I may have larger gaps of time between my posts while I heal.
This beautiful kit contained the supplies shown below.
Here are the mini cards and boxes the kit instructs how to make. (Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video to help you assemble these as intended.)
But I never assemble my kits as is, because I like to show subscribers other ways to use those supplies. I like to think outside the box…see what else I can come up with, and create alternate cards, scrapbook pages and more. Today I’m sharing with you two full-size cards (one is a split window fun fold card).
Be sure to visit my blog again soon, because I have a few more alternate projects that I’ll be sharing soon.
Card #1
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Envelope liner layer from the kit
3-1/4″ x 5-1/4″
Scraps of gold foil from the kit
1/2″ x 2-1/4″
3/8″ x 1-1/2″
Basic White Cardstock
5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4″
Gold & Vanilla Satin Edged Ribbon
16″
Directions…
Add the envelope liner layer to the front right portion of the folded Basic White card base.
Wrap and tie on the ribbon so it lines up with the left edge of the envelope liner layer. Trim the ends at an angle.
Trim the right end of each gold strip to create banners. You could use the kit banner piece as a guide if you wish.
Stamp the words “thank you” off to the right on the smaller white banner piece from the kit.
Layer the stamped white banner onto the longer gold banner using seal adhesive or glue dots from the kit. Then add this combo to the smaller banner with Dimensionals from the kit, And attach to the front of the card next to the knot of the ribbon.
Stamp the words “grateful for you” on the longer white banner piece from the kit.
Add the smaller laser cut gold foliage, the die cut leaves, and the banner to the inside of the card using Seal Adhesive, glue dots from the kit, and/or Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Card #2 – Split Window Card
Products I used… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements…
Pool Party Cardstock
5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side at 2-3/4″ and 4-1/4″
Card base layer from the kit
2-3/4″ x 5-1/2″
Early Espresso Cardstock
2-3/8″ punched circle
Directions…
Position the folded Pool Party card base with the extra score line on the front. Then stamp “with love & gratitude” multiple times horizontally and staggered to fill in that 1-1/2” wide section between the left edge and the score line on the front of the card. This part will take a while, but it’s so fun to see the end result. You could use a stamp positioner if you want the words to look perfect. But I did not on mine.
Use a ruler/straight-edge and the Early Espresso marker to draw a line along the score line on the front of the card.
Open up the card base and position the 2-3/8” Circle Punch so it’s coming in from the top of the card. Line up the edge of the punch with the fold line of the card. The line of the marker should be running down the middle of the circle. With the punch positioned all the way in and lined up, punch the circle from the Pool Party card base.
Stamp the leaves image a couple times on the bottom right corner of the kit card base layer. Adhere this to the front right section of the card base. Then line up the circle punch again in the same spot and punch to remove the half circle of the kit card base layer.
Fold along that front score line. Then added adhesive under the 1-1/2” wide section on the left. And connect to adhere.
Add the Early Espresso circle inside the punched out circle area while also tucking under and adhering gold leaf pieces under the right side (which will be showing on the inside of the card when open).
Add the die-cut pumpkin to the middle of the Early Espresso circle with Dimensionals while also tucking under and adhering gold leaf pieces under the left side.
Open the card again and stamp the words “thank you.”
These first images below show how I stamped the words on the front of the card AND that I cut the gold laser cut leaves down into multiple pieces. (I actually cut them down smaller than this. But this photo just shows how I got started.)
It’s so fun how opening the card still allows you to see the full circle centerpiece.
I hope I inspired your creativity with what I shared today! If you did not get this kit, I hope you can apply these ideas to products you already own.
If you are not a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, I invite you to give it a try. CLICK HERE to learn more. CLICK HERE to sign up by October 10th for this next kit…

I’m up for the challenge of running my paper crafting business without my dominant hand! 🤣
As I mentioned above I had surgery yesterday morning to repair the tear in my sagittal band on my right hand middle finger. I ruptured it by trying to stretch my hand in two different directions at the same time. And surgery was the best way to possibly gain full recovery.
So please be patient with me. I may not respond to every e-mail, notification, post, comment, etc…especially if they were meant for me to just read. My blog posts maybe a bit shorter, and there may be larger gaps in time in my sharing or in my responding that I need to do. Thank you for all your well wishes, your prayers, and your comments that bring a smile to my face. I appreciate your support. ❤️
