I’m in love with the Blackout Embossing technique. It’s fun and makes amazing designs. And if you are careful it’s not that messy either. I’m pretty proud of how clean my hands stayed during my demonstration this week. 🤪

Have you tried the Blackout Embossing technique yet? I’m seeing lots of great cards out there featuring these amazing background layers created with inks and 3D embossing folders. So I of course had to try it out, play around, and created a couple finished cards for you to see

Introducing Stampin’ Up!’s new 2024-26 In Color Collection AND a new neutral!
SHY SHAMROCK
PETUNIA POP
SUMMER SPLASH
PEACH PIE
PRETTY IN PINK (returning color from 1997-2013**)
BASIC BEIGE
Look at some of the fun 2024-26 In Color products that we could preorder as demonstrators! I don’t have all of them in this photo. But this gives you a good idea of what they look like in actual products.
All of these color changes will debut May 1, 2024 in the new 2024-25 Annual Catalog!
I was live on YouTube this afternoon to comparing these entering colors to current and past Stampin’ Up! colors. Click here to watch that recording (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog).
I hope you enjoyed watching. I shared a lot!…color comparisons and products with these colors, gifts and prizes from Stampin’ Up! and the OnStage event that I posted about earlier, a few of the gifts and swaps from fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrators, and other new products from this upcoming publication that I was able to order early.
And now some visuals to help you with the new colors…
Scroll through the photos below, and then let me know if you have any questions. Each main color that is being compared is positioned somewhat in the middle of all the others and is marked with a rhinestone. Colors with orange tape are the “currently current” colors.
Because photography doesn’t always capture the exact color, it’s best to view these comparisons in the video to see the cardstock swatches turned and manipulated in the light. The digital color swatches are also good to look at even if some of the colors are off a bit. And of course… purchasing new colors when they become available on May 1st to see them in person will be even better. 😉
How do you get these new colors now like I did and not have to wait until May 1st? Be on the demonstrator side of things. When you sign up to be a demonstrator, you may purchase these items during the preorder period which begins April 2nd. Or wait until April 2nd and add preorder products to your Starter Kit shopping cart. Click here to learn more about the perks of getting the starter kit. And then after you are officially a demonstrator, you can order more preorder product that didn’t fit into your Starter Kit order. 😉 It’s so fun to be able to get these products early! Plus you’ll become a discount shopper. I love not having to pay full price!
Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you don’t miss when I share in future live broadcasts AND when I post prerecorded videos.
I hope this helps many of you prepare for gathering up any more outgoing colors and/or products (click here for the lists of retiring products) AND get your wish lists ready for when you can get your hands on some of these new ones!

I just returned from Stampin’ Up!’s Houston OnStage 2024 convention on Sunday afternoon. It was a fun-filled past several days. My mind was swimming and racing so much that I didn’t get a lot sleep – about 4-5 hours each night. So I took these past two days to rest, unpack, and catch up. And now that I’m feeling refreshed and have organized all my take-home goodies, photos, and thoughts, I’m ready to share! Yay!!
This early morning’s post is to give a teaser that I have the new 2024-25 Annual Catalog in my hands…
…and announce the products that will be retiring from the current publications.
The 2023-24 Annual Catalog and the January-April 2024 Mini Catalog will be retiring soon. So you may want to stock up on your favorite retiring/last chance products* before they’re gone for good! AND…starting April 9th you may save up to 60% on some of them as well.
(Download the PDF for a quick reference. Or use the Excel File to sort the list by product name, price, page number, or product type. These lists will not be updated. But you can always check the online store to see if what you want is still available. And remember to zoom in if you need to. The print can be small for some of us.)
Discounted items will vary from one market to another depending on product performance.
There are no purchase limits.
No minimum purchase is required.
Retiring items are available while supplies last.
Items can be added to a Starter Kit and redeemed as a 50% off item or with Stampin’ Rewards.
Stamp Sets are not guaranteed during this promotion and are while supplies last.
This post is also a chance for me to share a few photos (well, maybe several) from Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage 2024 that I just attended in Houston, Texas.
This year’s OnStage was actually held in three locations to accommodate demonstrators throughout the world…Rotterdam, Netherlands, Melbourne, Australia, and Houston, Texas in the USA (where I was). Our CEO, Sara Douglass couldn’t be in three places at once and had to choose. She attended and presented at the Melbourne event, but she showed up for us in Houston with a recorded presentation.
We had others on the SU Corporate team (Ken Dinkel, Jill Taylor & Scott Nielsen)…
…and from the Demonstrator Development Managers team (Shannon West & Natalie White) presenting and here with us in person, though. And they did a fantastic job! It was an amazing event.
Natalie even demonstrated with my stamp set, Layering Leaves! What an honor that was!
We were also blessed with the talents of several fellow demonstrators who presented new products up on stage. Here are ;’
photos I took of just some of the great creative cards and projects shared in the presentations.
Check out the new sets, new colors, new tools, new embellishments, etc!
It’s fun to see sneak peeks of the new stuff, right? We were given lots of goodies when we checked in (I’ll be sharing those items in my video later today) AND during the event itself through the all-attendee give-aways and through prize patrol.
This is a photo of Brandi and I after we swapped out our prizes from prize patrol.
Speaking of swapping, this photo is from the organized card swap we did with team members. It’s very popular to make & bring cards (or projects) to swap at Stampin’ Up! events. I brought 10 cards for this organized swap and 80 other cards to casually swap out.
Out in the lobby where we were swapping, there were several display boards. I didn’t get a chance to take photos of all of them. But here are photos of some of the displays featuring what was demonstrated during the OnStage presentations.
In another large area of the convention center, there were product displays, informational boards, activities, videos, and more. This display showed off several of the new designer papers.
And this one we are standing in front of featured new colorful ribbons. Colleen, Tricia, Brandi and I are obviously having a great time in this “product playgound.”
This was a fun activity. Demonstrators were invited to share their creative color combinations.
This area (modeled by Kristie) featured some new “mix & match” products as an interactive magnetic build-a-card activity.
We also took turns posing in front of this big board…
…to become “crafting essential” #10.
This sign all came together during the days of the event with the help of many who filled in the color with sticky notes. It was fun to watch all the progress lead to this end result.
We also had break-out classes throughout the event. I was on the escalator looking down below when I took this photo of many fellow leader demonstrators on their way to special class focusing on some upcoming changes (stay tuned in the coming months).
Vy and I ended up sitting near all these amazing people.
This lounging room with beverages, treats, and comfy furniture was a special bonus for demonstrators with titles of Silver Elite or higher. We could come here to eat, relax, and visit.
And at all in person OnStage/convention events we also get ribbons to wear on our lanyards to display our accomplishments. This is a photo of me with my roommate, dear friend, and upline Susan Campfield. I signed up under her to get the demonstrator starter kit 24+ years ago. Time flies!
I had a great 2022-23 Stampin’ Up! year. I shared my rankings when I posted in November right after our last OnStage (which was held online). But it was at this event in Houston when all of us achievers were able to walk across stage to be recognized and congratulated.
Here are photos from a few other significant stage walks.
Shelli Gardner, the co-founder of the company with three demonstrators who have been with the company for 35+ years
Vy Tran, my team member who promoted to Silver Elite
Tricia Josephs, my team member who reached her 20-year milestone
So amazing!
Susan and I stayed at the Mariott Marquis, one of the hotels right across the street from the convention center. Check out the fun Texas shaped lazy river pool we could see from our window on the 25th floor. Luckily we found time to enjoy this pool and the hot tub the day before the convention started.
I was blessed to have 25 team members with me in Houston. And I made sure to spend time with each of them. Meals were a great way to do that.
Judy who lives near Houston picked up Susan and I at the airport on Tuesday and treated us to a lunch at the Taste of Texas before bringing us to our hotel.
Vy who also lives in a suburb of Houston brought us to Bistro Menil on Wednesday and treated us to a lovely lunch.
I hung out and had dinner with Brandi, Colleen, Tricia, Rose, Lisa and Kristie on Wednesday night.
On Thursday night I had dinner with Robyn, Sheila, and Vy. We ate at The Rustic.
I spent Friday’s lunchtime with Mariacristina, Laura, Erin (a friend of Laura’s), Colleen, Lailoni, Michelle, and two other demonstrators (I forgot to write down their names).
Friday night several of us Ubered in the pouring rain to get to Maggiano’s for some pasta. From left to right are Nancy, Vicki, Teri, Holly, Marciene, Cheryl, Kayla and me.
I ate lunch with Suzanne, Candace and Pal Myra on Saturday. We missed Maria because she had to leave for her flight home.
And on Saturday night Susan and I hosted a large team event at the Hampton hotel. My team and my sister demonstrators in Susan’s group were in attendance. We had tacos for dinner, put together two make-n-take cards, played games, and took lots of photos.
A few who flew home early couldn’t make it. But we still had a pretty good turn out…35 of us are in the photo below.
It was VERY hard to say our good-byes. What a fabulous time we had together in our days in Houston.
Updated 3/22/24 and added later…
Here are photos of the gifts and goodies I received from Stampin’ Up at the event. We are spoiled!
I also received a few extras for my achievements.
(I included the Kennith Cole pebbled computer tote and JBL speaker, too, since these were also gifted to me for the same achievements.)

I love the Textured Timber images, purchased the set right away, and was inspired to create this card shown here which I also paired with the Layering Leaves stamp set.
The flower petals come from one of the Layering Leaves leaf branch images! Fun, right?
And it’s an easel card (the reason for the slit on the inside layer).
I don’t have directions for you today, but on Wednesday at 11 AM Central Time you’ll be able to access my how-to video. Make sure you are subscribed to my blog and/or my YouTube channel so you get notifications for when I share and post.
Below is a list of products I used to create this card. These products are linked to where you can find them in my online store to help you shop. I’ve also listed measurements here AND included a downloadable PDF for those of you who like to collect these one-page reference sheets.

A bunch of new products just landed in the Online Store today! Yes…the new items ARE HERE! Click here to view all the Online Exclusives. The newest ones will be the ones you see first.
Today I want to introduce you to one of the new products…a great new background stamp called Drizzling Droplets. It’s a fun image that can cover the surface of a card front and depending on how you stamp it can look like so many things…possibly snow, water, bubbles, carbonation, lights, confetti, or even just an abstract fun background.
I inked the stamp up in two different colors using my brayer. First I rolled half of the brayer multiple times across one ink pad, then I rolled the other half of the brayer multiple times across another ink pad being careful not to mix the inks together. (Inking the lighter color first might be wise in case the first color accidentally comes in contact with the second.) These are the backgrounds I achieved on my first couple cards.
For each of these I used the Azure Afternoon and Berry Burst Ink Pads. When you roll the brayer across the stamp to ink it up, you need to shift it up and down the image. Doing this will mix the two colors in the middle. So it creates a gradient. (See below for a complete list of products I used on my cards. These products are linked to where you can find them in my online store.)
After stamping the Drizzling Droplets image onto a 4″ x 5-1/2″ Basic White piece of cardstock, I used Blending Brushes to add a soft glow coming in from the top and bottom (same ink pads). Then I trimmed 1/8″ off of each side to get rid of the harshness of the color on the edges.
Measurements
Basic White Cardstock
5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to short side at 4-1/4”
4-1/4” x 5-1/2″
3/8″ Sheer Ribbon
5-1/2”
Colored Cardstock
Scrap that is at least 2″ x 3-3/8”
I adhered a length of Azure Afternoon 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon wrapping the ends and taping them to the back. I added this to to the front of the folded card base with Dimensionals – one in each corner. Then I added the “Hello” (with Mini Dimensionals) and Rhinestones to finish off the design.
Notice that the drops are “falling down” on one card and “bubbling up” on the other. I liked the bubbling up look and wanted to try it out with other colors. So I made two more cards which I personally like a bit more. They have a sunshine feel to them.
I did the same thing I did with the first two but just used different colors of ink and cardstock.
Card #3: Melon Mambo Ink, Pumpkin Pie Ink & Cardstock, Cajun Craze Ink (for the outline of the word Hello), Bubble Bath Ribbon
Card #4: Daffodil Delight Ink, Parakeet Party Cardstock & Ink, Lemon Lolly Ribbon, Granny Apple Green Ink (for the outline of the word Hello)
For the “Hello” I inked up the raised lettering on the embossing folder, placed the coordinating hybrid die in place, add the cardstock to cover the word, closed the folder, and ran it all through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to ink emboss and cut it out. Then I used a white gel pen to draw on highlights.
Do you have a favorite? Can you think of occasions a hello card like this would be perfect for? If you recreate this card or a version of it, I’d love for you to share it with me.
I haven’t shared much news about my oldest son Nick on social media or my videos since the fall when he was competing in marching band. So I thought I’d show you a couple photos and give you a quick update.
He’s been meal prepping. He cooks salmon, steak, chicken, rice, sweet potatoes, and green beans. He weighs everything out and packages it all up into multiple meals. And he does this two times each week.
Nick has been very serious about fitness, exercise, and strength training. His goal for some time has been to have a career in the fitness industry, be an influencer, own his own business, and compete in body building competitions. And thanks to his coach, his more routine schedule now that he is done with marching band, his dedication to the gym, his drive and hard work, his discipline, and his positive mindset, he will be participating in his first competion on June 8th. And he has been posting to Instagram for some time now working hard to build a following. It’s been amazing to watch his journey.
He is a high school senior and graduates this year! So I’m now planning and prepping for that. SOOOooo fun!
