I miss the live broadcasting that I used to do on Periscope – my "Monday Funday" broadcasts. And now that I'm finally feeling "caught up" from having my boys home this past summer (I mean…hello! They've been in school for nearly 2 months. It's about time. Right?), I decided to give live broadcasting a go again. But this time I did it within my Facebook Page: Stamp Your Art Out with Rachel. And I LOVED it!So I'm back in the game.
This is the card I demonstrated during the broadcast this past Monday. And if you are logged into Facebook, CLICK HERE so you can see this broadcast, see the comments from viewers and add one or two comments of your own!
I missed sharing a few dimensions during the recording. So here they all are:
Cherry Cobbler: 11" x 4-1/4" scored at 2", 6", 6-1/2" and 10-1/2"
Basic Black: 4-1/2" x 4-1/4"
Very Vanilla: 5/8" x 4-1/4" and 3-7/8" x 4-1/8" or enough to punch out a circle that is 1-3/4"
This Christmas Designer Paper: 2 pieces that are each 2" x 4"
Baker's Twine Trio Pack: at least 15" of each color
UPDATE: If you use metric measurements, I figured that out for the main pieces…
Cherry Cobbler: 10-1/2 cm x 27 cm scored at 5, 15, 16 and 26
Basic Black: 10-1/2 cm x 11 cm
This Christmas Designer Paper:2 pieces that are each 10 cm x 5 cm
Here are the products I used to create these cards:
I will continue to broadcast on my Facebook Page each Monday around 2 or 2:30 PM Central Time. I haven't decided if I will go back to Periscope yet (the audience is a little different and the comments from "the trolls" can get a little intimidating). But if I do, it will be the same demonstration on the same day. I'd love to know your thoughts on that…Facebook only or both Facebook and Periscope?

There is a wonderful kit in the Holiday catalog called the Tin of Tags kit.
This kit (along with some added adhesives, the Tin of Tags stamp set, and 4 ink pads) creates 30 beautiful gift tags to put on your gifts this upcoming holiday season.
I made one full set of 10 tags with my kit and then I decided to get creative and go beyond the ideas in the kit direction sheet. On Wednesday I shared this 12×12 scrapbook page. But I also made a couple other fun packaging ideas that I want to share with you today.
We have some Glassine Bags that are pretty and easy to stamp on. They are translucent and have a great "winter feel" when stamped with snowflake images.
Other :142011 Tin of Tags Project Kit, 104332 SNAIL Adhesive, 138309 Fine Tip Glue Pen, tissue paper (got the one in the photo from a Paper Pumpkin kit!), a gift of some sort
Instructions:
After assembling 1 or 2 of the 3 sets of tags in the Tin of Tags Project Kit, use the remaining pieces and go beyond!
Stamp snowflakes with White Craft ink on a Glassine Gift Bag. Allow to dry.
Stamp “Go ahead, tear it open!” with Island Indigo ink onto snowflake printed oval tag
Add sequins with Fine Tip Glue.
Tie Twine on tag.
Add tissue paper wrapped gift to bag and tie tissue paper shut with twine.
I was thinking WAY ahead to Valentine's Day with this box of candy.
On August 24th, I shared this card that my Stampers With Art team had as one of the make-n-takes during our August online team event.
Shortly after that event, I needed a card for a swap group. I decided to use the above card, but forgot to replenish my cardstock and other supplies in time. So without any time to reorder or change my card idea, I had to make due with what I had on hand. And I ended up with this. 🙁
I was bummed because the card WASN'T my best work at all. It was lacking, but I didn't have time or supplies to fix it. After swapping, I put my sample away for a few weeks…
…and a few more weeks…
I finally pulled it out the other day and added a couple more cardstock layers behind the blue. And…
…Wow! I was happy with it. It's amazing the difference an embellishment or a layer or two can make. And sometimes crafters just have to walk away from projects that frustrate them and come back later (when the time is right) to try again.
I still like my original, darker version better. But at least I'm happy with this card now. To those of you who I swapped with, sorry. Now you know what I really wanted to give you. LOL
At a recent demonstrator event in Medina, MN a couple weekends ago, Beth Tetzlaff led us all in this fun make-n-take project. It's a K-cup treat box. And it's SO easy to make. (Measurements and tips for creating are below. Supplies used are all listed at the very bottom.)
Measurements:
Candy Cane Lane Designer Paper: 1-1/2" x 12" strip
Whisper White cardstock: 2-3/4" x 5-1/2" scrap for stamping and punching gingerbread man and two circles (1-3/4" and 2")
Real Red cardstock: scrap for punching out 1-3/4" Circle
Crumb Cake cardstock: scrap for punching out 2" Circle
Real Red Twine: 12"
Tips:
After assembling a Clear Tiny Treat box, wrap the designer paper strip around to mold it to the box shape. Remove and fold on the creases that were formed. Add some SNAIL adhesive just where the strips will meet, and then wrap it around the box again this time securing it with the adhesive. Use a Bone Folder to curl the ends of the designer paper strip in two directions.
Stamp the gingerbread man and punch it out. Then stamp the tag sentiments and punch them out.
Pierce a hole in the smaller circle tag. Wrap the twine around the base of the curled designer paper. Tie in a knot, add this tag, then tie the twine again in a bow.
Layer the remaining circles and the gingerbread man using SNAIL Adhesive and Dimensionals. Add a bit of SNAIL adhesive on the front and back of the very bottom and insert into the curled designer paper.
Slide the box out and add a K-Cup or other treat for the holidays. And give as a gift!
I wasn't able to participate in the card swap at this event, but 6 dear friends each gave me one of their extra swaps! I was so touched. I came home with new card ideas, an adorable make-n-take and a cute matching name tag. Here they all are pictured with my other cards/gifts of late.

I'm completely in love with the September 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin' Up! titled "Something Good to Eat." It's one of my favorites!!! I finally got to dive in this past week. On Monday I created. On Tuesday and Wednesday I recorded my tutoral video (that I share here on my blog and on YouTube) and took photos of my projects. On Thursday I edited my first of two videos and all my photos. And on Friday I continued editing and creating my blog posts so I could share with all of you.
I was hoping to get all the editing done, but I didn't. And we have a birthday boy in our house that will need some attention this weekend. :) So I'm sharing half the projects today…
Several test tube gift and treat ideas
A couple different holders for the test tubes
And a set of 4 note cards
…and the rest by hopefully Tuesday morning. (Part 2 will include 12×12 Scrapbook pages, a Project Life layout and a few more test tube ideas.)
As some of you may know, with every kit I like to think "outside the box" and come up with lots of alternate ideas so I can share with you other options for what YOU can create with your kit contents. Watch this video to get tips, measurements and directions. Then scroll down to see close-up photos of these projects and a list of extra supplies I used to make them.
